It’s that time of year again already as the gaming world prepares to reflect on the year’s successes and look forward to what’s coming in 2024. While the likelihood of actual hand to hand combat isn’t as likely as at the Oscars, The Game Awards will surely show off fighting game plans for a few major titles.

We’ll be watching from start to finish, and have the TGA live steam embedded below so you can join us. Host and creator Geoff Keighley will be tonight’s master of ceremonies, but is sure to be accompanied by some of the biggest names in game development as well as A-list celebrities.

Some of the names confirmed to be a part of the event include Timothée Chalamet, Walton Goggins, Anthony Mackie, DJ Zedd, and Poets of the Fall. That said, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see other big names make unannounced appearances, as is known to happen from time to time at TGA.

We’ll be excited to see which titles win across the numerous award categories, but as is likely the case with many of our readers, we’re most enticed by any and all fighting game news that’s en route.

The only certainty on this front is a new character reveal for Guilty Gear Strive, but we have strong hunches that new content showcases are also coming for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, King of Fighters 15, and Virtua Fighter.

It’s also possible we get some news concerning Mortal Kombat 1 and John Cena, but we’ll have to wait and watch to know for sure. For more details on what we expect to see (and not see) at the Game Awards this evening, check out our full speculation story.
