Although he was very much a dark horse going into Capcom Cup X last week, the world now knows a few things about Wang “UMA” Yuan-hao.
The first Street Fighter 6 world champion from Taiwan is an unbelievable Juri player, a competitor with an unbreakable spirit, $1 million richer (before taxes) and apparently a big VTuber fan, which got him some attention.
As noticed online while he was making his finals push, the hoodie UMA was wearing when he won the cup was actually a piece of merchandise for popular Japanese VTuber Ookami Mio.
A X/Twitter page dedicated to covering Hololive happenings also saw this and made a post noting UMA’s big victory in Mio’s commemorative sweatshirt for reaching 1 million subscribers.

This then made its way to Mio herself, who had a few short messages for the champ.
“Did the player wearing my hoodie really win?!?! Congratulations!!!!!!!!” wrote Mio when translated to English.

UMA responded back, “It feels as comfortable as being at home,” of the hoodie as translated by our own Nicholas ‘MajinTenshinhan’ Taylor.
“If my jacket helps you relax that makes me very happy!” said Mio in her last post to UMA that we’ve translated.
Much of the rest of the comments were also congratulatory for the new top SF6 player with some also joking that getting a message from Mio may be better than the $1 million.

We’re not sure how long it’s been this way, but the Capcom Cup champ’s X bio currently reads “UMA The world’s strongest Mio-fam,” which is the term used for the VTuber’s fanbase.
Street Fighter 6 has gotten quite a bit of attention from the VTubing community in Japan because of the continued success of the Crazy Raccoon Cup tournaments featuring the digital idols trained up by seasoned FGC pros, and it seems that has even more chance of carrying on now.
Hopefully, Ookami Mio talks a bit more about UMA and his crazy impressive Capcom Cup victory on her upcoming streams / videos because he certainly deserves it.
All we know though is UMA is probably on cloud nine right now flying back to Taiwan with $1 million and a special shoutout from his favorite VTuber.
