Hype continues to build for SNK’s upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as developers have granted some sneak peek time to a handful of lucky content creators that are now churning out exclusive looks at some of the game’s revealed cast.
Today we turn our eyes to Rooflemonger’s channel as he details a brand new character being introduced in City of the Wolves: Vox Reaper. Rooflemonger explains how Vox plays as well as the legacy character he’s generally based upon.
If you go all the way back to CotW’s prequel, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, you’ll run into a sub-boss who goes by the name Grant. Vox’s face and head markings are a direct reference to Grant’s mask (which Vox even pulls out during one of his Super animations) and his toolset has a lot of overlap with the MotW giant.
Rooflemonger explains that Vox most closely follows the brawler fighting game archetype, relying on slower but powerful haymaker hits paired with a command grab to help keep opponents guessing.
The game plan with this fighter will likely be to get in close and cause foes to crack under pressure as you constantly threaten them with heavy hits. He doesn’t seem to fare well from farther out as he’s got no projectile, but can stand his own and play some decent footsie mind games from the mid range.
Give the full video below a watch and let us know in the comments what you think of Vox and City of the Wolves thus far. Will you be playing the brawling badass, or might his fellow newcomer Preecha be more your style?
