Volunteer departments respond to two-vehicle crash; one person killed

First responders from multiple volunteer fire departments responded to a two-vehicle accident Monday night that left one person dead.
According to the Carolina Volunteer Fire Department, responders from their agency, along with those from the Blackman Fire Department, provided mutual aid to the Wing Volunteer Fire Department at approximately 8:55 p.m. when two vehicles crashed on Hwy. 137. Responders found two victims in one vehicle with injuries, while a single occupant in the other vehicle was determined to be deceased. Extraction tools were used to reach the deceased victim.
The names of those involved in the crash could not be confirmed.
Hwy. 137 was closed while first responders worked and cleared the scene.
Earlier in the evening, at approximately 6:48 p.m., Carolina had provided mutual aid to Wing in extinguishing a fully-involved vehicle fire.
