Visual guide shows all new Street Fighter 6 balance changes in action

Street Fighter 6 was hit with a new balance patch via Tuesday’s Terry update, and while not all characters were affected, some definitely have been changed.

While it’s one thing to see such alterations on paper, it’s another to see them actually play out in game. Luckily we have MC Mura as he’s already produced a video showcasing each and every significant character change. Continue on to see which characters wound up as the biggest winners and losers of the patch.

When it comes to the benefactors, it might be Dhalsim that stands out as the most significant. We don’t see a ton of this unconventional fighter (as per the usual) and it looks like Capcom is trying to change that a bit.

Sim now has more utility across many of his attacks, and can use his Super 1 to chip out a bunch of grey damage against blocking foes. Developers have also leveled up the Yoga master’s defense via lessening the amount of Drive Gauge chip he receives when blocking incoming attacks.

Another major winner has to be the villainous JP, who arguably was the previous patch’s biggest loser. JP play dropped heavily after the character was nerfed, and so Capcom has partially restored his crouching heavy punch anti-air and granted him a few more quality of life buffs.

Perhaps the biggest loser of the bunch is Zangief. This character rocketed in player opinion after the Season 2 update, and has proven somewhat controversial as a relatively higher tier grappling archetype. Capcom has reduced Gief’s damage output and pressure by strategically nerfing two moves in particular, both of which you can see in the video below.

Many will be wondering about controversial characters like M. Bison, Ed, and Rashid, one of whom was indeed nerfed while the other two received (more or less) slaps on the wrist. Check out all the changes in motion via Mura’s video here:
