No one puts in the work quite like Rooflemonger as the Canadian content creator has constructed a full visual guide to show us, in real time, what all has changed in the latest Guilty Gear Strive patch.
It’s one thing to see the notes on paper, but a whole other to be able to watch the changes play out in front of your eyes. Rooflemonger details out some of the general and more global alterations and then cycles through the entire character select screen to demonstrate exactly what all has changed.
We’ve already seen a bit of controversy about this patch as certain characters seem to be wildly overpowered (at least, based on early reactions in Guilty Gear X circles), but it’s best to take a look at the changes for ourselves to garner an idea of how they’ll affect feel and flow.
The general gist? Survival seems to have been buffed in Strive. Though certain moves have seen damage increases, overall damage output has been nerfed and thus we may see an extra interaction or two per round moving forward.
That said, it still wouldn’t be the weirdest thing to see unintended touch of death or otherwise overpowered sequences emerge after such a large update; we will certainly know in time, as the player base continue to fully explore Strive in its latest form, how things play out.
We should also note that not every single change is depicted, as some are fairly minuscule and needn’t be shown to be fully appreciated.
Every character is time-stamped in the video below so you can quickly navigate and see those which are of highest priority to you first. Let us know in the comments what you think of this latest Strive patch, along with how you felt it affected your main character(s).
