Virtua Fighter’s most popular character stats released by Sega via early results from official poll

Will this poll have an impact on the new Virtua Fighter’s roster?

Sega is running an official poll for Virtua Fighter, asking fans of the series who their favorite characters are in the entire franchise, and they’ve given us the early results ahead of the poll closing.

The poll ends on February 11, 2025 at 7 a.m. Pacific / 10 a.m. Eastern, so you can head on over and still vote now. Participants are given 5 votes total, which can be divided up between 20 characters, selecting your favorite Virtua Fighter games they’ve appeared in.

When similar polls have been run by other companies in the Fighting Game Community, often times these results have been used to decide who will be added as a DLC character in the future, in part, so it’s entirely possible users can influence who they see in the new game.

The only thing Sega has officially promised with this poll is that the top voted characters will be made into original t-shirts to be sold as merchandise at a later date.

Akira is currently in the top spot by a solid margin, likely due to being the poster boy of the franchise. He’s followed by the siblings Sarah and Jacky Bryant, in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Check out the entire early results from the poll below.
