Authorities have confirmed that a suspect was arrested on Thursday following a shooting at the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Troy, Michigan.

“We can confirm there has been a shooting at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital,” the Troy Police Department said Thursday morning in a post on X. “This appears to be an isolated incident however the Suspect is not in custody. Please avoid the area.”

Video of the scene was also posted on X.

According to WXYZ, Lt. Ben Hancock confirmed that five shots were fired as one employee fired shots at another employee in the hospital parking lot at roughly 7:08 a.m. Hancock described the shooting as a “targeted incident between two employees at the hospital.” Police officials said a 25-year-old victim was injured and in stable condition following the shooting.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, Corewell Health said, “We are working with local law enforcement.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, the hospital is on lockdown. One victim is in the emergency department for medical treatment,” Corewell Health added. “Patients with services scheduled should not come to the hospital at this time. Patients may call the department where they were scheduled for service directly. No other information is available at this time.”

At 9:43 a.m., the Troy Police Department announced that the hospital shooting suspect had been arrested by law enforcement officials, tweeting, “ALL CLEAR AT COREWELL TROY, SUSPECT IS IN CUSTODY.”
