Video: Heavy flooding rocks Calabar after an intensed rainfall

The city of Calabar has been known to be a city with most rainfall in Nigeria with temperature of about 18-30°C throughout the seasons. But this year’s rainfall is causing a lot of havoc as the city keeps flooding after every downpour.

Today, at about 4pm when it started raining, roads/streets of Calabar including Goldie by Mount Zion Bus stop, Ekpo Abasi by CRUTECH gate, Goldie by Target, Effio-Ette Junction, Mobil, Highway by Beebosco, Parliamentary and many others were flooded as vehicles had to wait while many were diverting to driving one lane.

Many tricycles were flushed into heavy gutters as the downpour continues until 6pm before the roads were cleared for free movement.

I think the government in the sections of CUDA, CRIRMA, FERMA should do something about this flooding roads either by clearing the drainage or constructing more drainage to help salvage this menace.
