Manchester United have been looking to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen for some time now.
The Red Devils are without a prolific striker with Rasmus Hojlund still lacking a clinical finishing touch and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to make an impact at the United camp.
Already Ruben Amorim is looking to cut Zirkzee’s time at Old Trafford short, considering offers for the striker this January.
However, it’s now been reported that United are working on a swap deal with Napoli to see Osimhen move to Old Trafford. The deal in question would see wantaway Marcus Rashford head the other way.
Osimhen is currently on loan with Galatasaray, with Antonio Conte not seeing the Nigerian striker in his long-term plans.
Ultimately this has worked out well for the Turkish side who have benefitted from his 12 goals and five assists, helping hold them at the top of the league.
With Rashford seemingly out of Amorim’s plans having been dropped from the squad over recent weeks, United are trying to cash in on Conte’s interest in the English striker.
However, reports have now confirmed the links as Osimhen’s team speaks out.

Victor Osimhen and his team confirm links with Manchester United
Nigerian outlet The Papers has confirmed that a deal is in the works to see Victor Osimhen join Manchester United.
A source from the striker’s team has commented: “Victor will move, he may wear the red colours in England, there are moves already and it is what he want.”
Ruben Amorim’s preferred option is for a reunion with Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres. However, Amorim swore against a January raid of any of his former squad.
Now, it remains to be seen if United can get the deal across the line. A £62 million release clause needs to be activated to recall Osimhen from his loan to complete a transfer.
