Victor Abang, an All Progressives Congress(APC) chieftain in Cross River State has commended Governor Ben Ayade for dumping the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for the APC.
Abang stated this in a statement signed by him on Thursday, shortly after the Governor defected from the PDP to APC in Calabar.
He said the governor’s move will align the state with federal politics and development.
“I join other progressives to welcome H.E Gov. Ben Ayade to the APC.
“I salute his courage and wisdom to strategically align Cross River State to national politics and development. Well done. Be assured of my solidarity.
“Over the years, most of our members in playing the role of opposition have been criticising some policies of his government. Going forward, I advise that such criticism be offered as advice and suggestions on how to move our dear state forward.
“For my brothers and sisters of the Boki extraction, we welcome you to the progressives family and a democratic space that ensures peace, equality and justice”, Abang said.
Recall that Governor Ayade officially decamped from the PDP to APC and declared the state an APC state. He was also declared the Leader of the party by Governor Mai Buni, chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum.
