Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mid to Senior User Experience (UX) Designer to join our dynamic design team at one of South Africa’s hottest FinTechs. The ideal candidate will be tasked with designing seamless and innovative digital banking experiences for a mobile platform, ensuring a customer-centred approach in all design elements. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging user interfaces that meet the strategic objectives of the bank.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- User Research: Conduct user research to gather insights into customer needs and behaviours. Use these insights to inform design decisions and strategies.
- Design Execution: Create high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes for digital banking applications. Ensure designs are in line with the bank’s brand guidelines and digital standards.
- User Testing: Assist in planning and assisting in usability tests and other design research activities. Take the user feedback and iterate designs accordingly to enhance user experience and satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, developers, and other team members to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately. Participate in agile development processes and stand-ups.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of UX trends, tools, and technologies. Propose innovative design solutions that enhance user experience and drive digital banking forward.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow in their UX design skills.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years of experience in UX design, specifically in the banking or financial services industry.
- Relevant Qualification in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX design projects, including workflows, wireframes, and user interface designs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and user research findings to various stakeholders.
