The University of Ilorin has set a final deadline for certificate collection by its graduates for Friday, 17 January 2025.
In an internal memorandum dated 18 December, the school noted that graduates who fail to collect their certificates by the set date will be charged a penalty of N3,000 for each week of delay.
The institution stated that it had observed a significant backlog of uncollected certificates, which led to its latest directive.
The memo signed by the University Registrar, M.A. Alfanla, urged the institution’s graduates to promptly collect their unclaimed certificates or face paying the fines accrued.
“The University Management, therefore, urges all affected graduates to collect their certificates on or before Friday, 17 January 2025. Failure to do so thereafter will attract a fine of ₦3,000.00 per week,” the memo stated.
The university also stated that for collection to be seamless, the graduates must bring along necessary documents.
The documents include proof of payment for convocation, the original copy of the Statement of Results, the Student Identification Card, and any other relevant documentation.
