Ass. Prof. Sunny Ewah has emerged as winner of the just concluded deanship elections in the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Cross River (UNICROSS).
The election was conducted on Monday, May 17, 2021, by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. (Mrs) Joy Etiowo and the Registrar, Mr. Victor Ene on behalf of the management of the University in Ogoja campus of the university.
It featured Ass. Prof. Ndifon Ojong Ejoh, the outgoing Dean of the Faculty and Associate Prof. Sunny Ewa as contestants.
The collated votes showed that 18 votes were cast in favour of Ass. Prof. Sunny Ewa of the department of Marketing while 16 votes were cast in favour of Ass. Prof. Ndifon Ojong Ejoh of the Department of Accountancy. Therefore, Ass. Prof. Sunny Ewa was returned elected and declared winner by Prof. (Mrs) Etiowo, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics).

Prof (Mrs) Etiowo who earlier applauded the massive turn out of academics of the faculty, commended the level of decorum that was demonstrated by the contestants and voters, during the election.
In his acceptance speech, Ass. Prof. Ewa thanked everyone who made his mandate a reality and assured them that he is willing to work in line with the goals and objectives of the university, for the good of the faculty.
In the same vein, Dr. Adesola Adebisi was nominated and elected with an overwhelming voice vote as SubDean of the Faculty.
In his assessment of the exercise, the Registrar stated that their alleged fears of the anticipated turbulence associated with the faculty has been allayed. He urged everyone to remain peaceful, united and maintain the legacies of the outgoing dean and leadership of the faculty.
The DVC and the Registrar concluded activities in the faculty by commissioning a toilet project facilitated by the President of the Department of Business Administration Students Association at the instance of the Head of Department of Business Administration, Dr. Jude U. Bassey.
