UNICROSS Faculty of Management Sciences matriculates 772 Students

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS, Prof. Augustine Angba has matriculated 772 students of the Faculty of Management Sciences at Ogoja Campus of the institution.

The matriculation ceremony was held on Thursday, October 28, 2021. It was the 19th matriculation ceremony of the university. 291 students of the Department of Business Administration and 247 students of the Department Of Accountancy matriculated at the ceremony.

Similarly, 109 students of the Department of Marketing and 124 students of the Department of Tourism, participated in the matriculation ceremony.

Before the main event, the Vice-Chancellor interacted with staff and students of the Faculty and assured them that he will do everything in his capacity as Vice-Chancellor to improve the academic and social wellbeing of the campus. He noted that work is currently ongoing to equip the campus with ultra-modern learning facilities, good roads and a 24/7 electricity supply.

In his address at the matriculating ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the importance of good education and the need to shun vices such as cultism, internet fraud and examination malpractice.

He stated that as Vice-Chancellor, he has resolved to ensure that the culture of excellence, for which CRUTECH/UNICROSS is known for, is upheld. He declared that research and infrastructural development are his areas of cardinal focus.

The Vice-Chancellor added that he will put in place everything that will ensure that every student excels under the most conducive learning environment.

He enjoined all stakeholders in CRUTECH/UNICROSS Project – Government, Governing Council, Staff, Students, and Parents/Guardians to put all hands on deck and build a legacy that will stand the test of time and place. He said: “I will not rest and we should not rest until we make CRUTECH/UNICROSS a greater place”.

The Dean/Head of Campus through a closing remark offered by the Faculty Officer, Mr Pius Nkong (FCAI), appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and his entourage for gracing the occasion. He also extended warm congratulations to the matriculating students and urged them to adhere strictly to the Vice Chancellor’s admonishment.

Dignitaries who attended the matriculation ceremony include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Joy Etiowo, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Mary Eyo, the University’s Registrar, Mr Victor Ene, the Bursar, Mr Ekpe Ekpe, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Friday Ovat, among others.
