UNICAL: Tertiary Institution acquires new Bursar, ignores Court injunction

The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has employed the services of one Mrs Beatrice Igwe as the substantive Bursar of the academic institution NegroidHaven can state authoritatively.

The Media and Community Relations Board Chairman of UNICAL, Mr Joseph Ekpang yesterday referred to the employment as 'well deserved'.

This employment process is said to have proceeded yesterday with the management of the University reportedly refusing to collect a National Industrial Court injunction barring her from proceeding with the selection. However, in an 11:50PM text message request demanding explanations as to whether the school authority locked up its premises as alleged the University of Calabar Information Officer replied he was going to respond this morning since our correspondent's text message came late. As at press time, he was yet to reply.

Recalled that Mr Peter Agi the erstwhile Bursar of UNICAL was terminated on the 4th of November 2016.
