Students, both post graduates and undergraduates, have been said to resort to the use of juju, that is, diabolical means, to win post graduate students government, students union government, faculty, departmental and other elections NegroidHaven can say.
Our Correspondent stumbled on this piece of information recently when a post graduate student in the Department of Philosophy ,simply identified as Sunny Kassy, who during his undergraduate days (2013) contested as Director of Welfare, UNICAL SUG, confirmed that students request the services of juju-men in other to win elections into designated union offices.
According to him, ‘… Prince Agbor Onyi my brother as you no do,  no mean say some no do ooo, during my undergraduate days one of my opponents boasted about coming from Akpabuyo… U can relate’.
Kassy was responding to a thread on social media which went like this: ‘In the just concluded election of UNICAL’s Post Graduate Students Gov’t (PGSG), It’s alleged that juju was employed to influence voter’s decision…Hmmm!’
Concerning the just concluded PGSG elections in UNICAL, a comment said, ‘They allegedly brought the Juju-man, who poured incantation upon incantation over the strong drinks they were supposed to use for consulting?
‘When PG students sip the drink, their votes would sway against their wish. Na juju deh rush the candidates’.
This development has not been confirmed. Be that as it may, I think it portends serious implications for the larger society: when the ‘leaders of today’ don’t know how to canvas for election, then, there is problem in society.
In the larger society, it’s votes buying; in this miniscule of society, it’s witchcraft, juju, etc. Hmmmm! So, disappointing!
