He noted that the much desired growth is easily achievable with strategic economic reforms, citing agriculture, health and technology as areas needing immediate reforms to enable the country achieve maximum growth.

“Economic reforms are the bedrock of sustainable development, they provide the framework within which businesses can thrive, investments can flourish, and innovation can be nurtured.
“In Nigeria, the need for such reforms is more pressing than ever,” he added.
He noted that though the country is currently faced with challenges, with conscious efforts towards productivity, especially in agriculture, Nigeria can begin to see huge improvements.
“By implementing policies that support modern farming techniques, improve access to markets, and encourage value addition, we can significantly boost productivity and ensure food security for millions of Nigerians.
“The United States remains committed to supporting Nigeria in its quest for sustainable economic development by improving the business environmentand enhancing the ease of doing business.

He hailed HHHFAAN for their work in nation building and development and assured them of the ambassador’s continued support.
Speaking to THE WHISTLER after the event, HHHFAAN President and Founder, Children Emergency Relief Foundation, Mrs. Abosede Oyeleye, said the fellowship is dedicated to giving back to the society.
Abosede said, “Majority of Nigerians are living below the poverty level, so it is important to talk about it. We looked at areas where these improvements are needed, which is why we brought panelists to talk about various issues like power, security, health care, etc.
“For me, there are three key areas the government should look at, one is Agriculture. If the government will subsidize things for farmers because food is very expensive.
“Secondly, the government needs to improve power, it is very key, the National grid has collapsed at least eight times this year alone. No matter what you do, you still need consistent and affordable power.
“The third part is security and the rule of law. If it is established then Nigeria will be a better place.” she said.
The event featured a paper presentation by the co-founder and Director of BudgIT, Olusegun Onigbinde as well as a panel discussion by experts in various fields.
