Ruud van Nistelrooy revealed a recovery plan for Tyrell Malacia, speaking in a press conference today.
The left back has not featured for Manchester United since May 28 2023 – 528 days ago.
He will have to be eased back into action, which is why Van Nistelrooy has provided a step-by-step plan to help the 25-year-old get back to match fitness.

Potential Return Game
He revealed that Malacia is fully involved in first team training and is no longer restricted to individual drills.
It is, therefore, likely that he will return to action in the next few weeks.
Before rushing back to the first team, Van Nistelrooy explained that he will hand the defender minutes in the academy first.
‘Tyrell Malacia is fully in team training, and no restrictions, and it’s good to plan his game minutes, maybe in the under 21s,’ he said.
United’s Under-21s only have two games left this month – Huddersfield away on November 12 and West Ham at home on November 29.
A return for Malacia in the latter game against West Ham looks like a real possibility.
A week after that game, United face Sparta Praha in the Premier League International Cup.

If the Dutchman does not return against the Hammers in November, he would almost certainly be fit for this game, providing there are no further setbacks.
Right now, United do not have a fit left back in their squad and have been forced to play Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui and even Jonny Evans out of position to fill the void.
Luke Shaw has been training individually on the grass but there are no signs of an imminent return.
Malacia’s comeback would be a welcome sight for new manager Ruben Amorim, who will look to turn around a dreadful start to the season for United.
