Manchester United have now parted ways with left-back Tyrell Malacia, as the defender has struggled to find his feet under manager Ruben Amorim.

Malacia joined United from Feyenoord back in 2022 however picked up a serious knee injury towards the end of his debut season at Old Trafford.

The left-back underwent two rounds of surgery ultimately ruling him out for over a year, having only recently returned to the pitch in the last few months.

However, upon returning to the team, Erik ten Hag has been replaced with Ruben Amorim, with the new manager’s vision of the left-back role being very different to his predecessor.

Amorim works with dynamic wing-backs who press forward to mount attacks on the flanks.

Unfortunately for Malacia, he hasn’t been able to establish himself in the role, with the club signing Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon as long-term replacements for him and fellow defender Luke Shaw.

That said, despite his extensive period on the side-lines, Malacia hasn’t been short of options for a new club, with teams from across Europe showing interest in the star.

Clubs like Real Betis, Como, Benfica and Juventus have all been linked with the 24-year-old.

Ultimately, PSV Eindhoven have been the victors, taking the star on loan, with Fabrizio Romano now revealing the details of the deal.

PSV are all set to cover Malacia’s salary in full, with the Dutch club also having the option to buy the defender for £25 million at the end of the season.

However, if PSV do decide to buy the star, a sell-on clause has already been negotiated for United to receive 30% of any future sale.

Malacia will be hoping the move will get him more game time to restart his career after his significant set back during his spell at Old Trafford.
