Tyrell Malacia is not having much luck lately with injuries.
Last season the left-back was ruled out for extensive period through injury, with United stuck with very little choice for covering the gap.
First choice left-back Luke Shaw was ruled out much like his deputy, leaving right-backs Diogo Dalol and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to cover.
Now, close to his return to team training, the star has had a brush with a medical team yet again.
Malacia and Marcus Rashford in car crash
According to The Sun, the incident risking Malacia’s return to the pitch happened earlier this month on 16th July.
While out with Marcus Rashford and a friend of Rashford, the United duo were hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The trio were in Rashford’s Range Rover with the unnamed friend driving. Whilst Rashford was sat in the back, Malacia was in the passenger seat when the black Mercedes hit them.
The report from Cheshire Police
Cheshire Police confirmed that officers attended the scene of a collision between a black Mercedes C220 AMG and a blue Range Rover Sport earlier this month.
They added that a 55-year-old woman was held at the scene whilst two men were taken to hospital.
After running some medical checks, Malacia was swiftly released from hospital with a clean bill of health and resumed training the next day.
Although, of course, Rashford was not responsible for this incident, he seems to frequently encounter issues in his personal life.
The incident took place only two days before Rashford was given a six-month driving ban for speeding.
The forward was caught driving at 104mph on the M60 in his £560k Rolls Royce but claimed he was driving above the speed limit out of fear he was being chased.
Rashford also insisted that he is followed all the time. The incident took place on December 12, less than two months after the Englishman crashed his super luxurious Rolls-Royce.
Rashford travelled with United squad to Los Angeles for pre-season on Wednesday, while Malacia remained in the UK to recover from last season’s injuries.
Malacia and Rashford have become really close friends, often partying and holidaying together on off days.
