The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested two scavengers for allegedly stealing aluminum cable wires in Onijanganjangan, Obada-Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Kamoru Mustapha, 25, and Mubarak Idris, 26, were apprehended on Saturday during a routine patrol. Their arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf.
“At about 0500 hrs on 29 March 2025, Corps officers on routine patrol apprehended the two suspects, Kamoru Mustapha and Mubarak Idris, for stealing aluminum cable wires,” the statement read.
According to the commander, the suspects were caught in a bush while attempting to cart away the stolen materials. During interrogation, they reportedly confessed to the crime.
The suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have been transferred to the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Dekudu Village, along Kobape Road, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
