Street Fighter 6 is handling their online ranking system a good bit differently than any previous game by seasonally resetting Master Rate points that in part helps maintain that the currently active players take the top spots.
Now that Phase 5 has been underway in SF6’s online ecosystem for a month now, we’ve gone to dig through all of the top Legend ranks to see how the full cast is performing in the hands of the best players ahead of Terry Bogard’s arrival.
Although Akuma and M. Bison continue to be the talk of the town as the two newest DLC characters, and quite powerful ones at that, they couldn’t quite topple over a couple of other icons to take the top spots — but the villains were very, very close.
Cammy currently has 53 players in Legend while Ken is at 47, so together this power couple makes up 20% of the top 500 ranks as of the time or reporting.
Akuma and Bison are right behind them with 44 and 36 respectively, and interestingly, Zangief is the one who closes out the top 5 at 31.
You’d think that maybe the DLC fighter stats would normalize more in the new phase after their initial post-release hype, but Akuma and M. Bison are actually performing a bit better in the ranks now than they were in the last online season.
Almost everyone managed to crack double digits in the top 500 with the only outliers being the familiar faces of Lily and E. Honda.
Just about all of the others fell within the 13–19 range representing the average while Chun-Li and Ed actually hit higher.
• Cammy – 53
• Ken – 47
• Akuma – 44
• M. Bison – 36
• Zangief – 31
• Chun-Li – 26
• Ed – 26
• JP – 19
• Luke – 19
• Juri – 18
• Blanka – 17
• Jamie – 17
• Manon – 16
• Rashid – 16
• Dee Jay – 15
• Kimberly – 15
• Dhalsim – 14
• Guile – 14
• A.K.I. – 13
• Ryu – 13
• Marisa – 10
• E. Honda – 9
• Lily – 9
If we boil things down to just the top 100 of Legend, things look fairly similar down the board though there are certainly some noticeable differences.
Ken and Cammy still take up the top two spots and 21% of the total pool here, but Ed actually beat out Akuma for third place.
M. Bison fell just outside of the top 5, but it’s scary to think that there’s just as many strong Zangiefs running around among the top players right now.
The highest percentage of Legend-ranked characters who also cracked the top 100 was Ed at over 34% followed by Lily at 33% and Chun-Li at 30%.
Dee Jay had the least carry over at just under 7% among those who did appear.
That’s because two fighters didn’t reach the top 100 at all currently with E. Honda’s highest placement sitting at 118 and Jamie at 126 as of the time of reporting.
It’d also be interesting to see how much higher the likes of Luke and JP were a year ago, but unfortunately, we can only look back to the last phase right now.
