Twitter User Thumbs Up Gov. Ayade's Prompt Payments of Salaries. Interesting!

Mo 'Dupe Ashama @dupe_ashama on  Feb 22 twitted thus: 'Other govs may need to go to Ben Ayade of CRS to learn one or two things on how salaries are being paid promptly every month!!!'

Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade may have begin to make name for himself as one politician who is prompt in the payment of civil servants' monthly renumeration. It is important he maintains it.

However, what the above Nigerian twitter user doesn't know is that no public office holder has been paid for about nine months in office. Secondly, retirees in the state are yet to be paid; thirdly, local government staff of the same state under the leadership of the same governor are yet to receive their salaries, scholarship students under the CRS Scholarship Board are yet to be paid their stipends for as far back as 2012! Fourthly, persons with disabilities recently demonstrated in the state stalling traffic citing government's neglect and insensitivity to their plight; fifthly, severance money supposed to be paid to former politicians are pending, etc.

The fact is that, there is nothing quite novel in the payments of civil servants salaries by Ayade. Besides, they deserve to be paid, it's their legitimate due. If the said twitter is aware of these other realities, he may be forced to retract his Twits. I am calling on Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State Government to do the needful.
