No longer before now we have been hearing of cables, Mercury, switches and other items being stolen by some miscreants in almost every transformers in Calabar. If you’re living in the city, you should know better.
Sometimes we get reports of items being stolen from transformers in different locations in both Calabar South and the Municipality. The one that baffles all was that of the Effanga Mkpa police station at State Housing Estate.
The people no longer fears the police in that they steal in their presence. Wonder when all this will stop.
In recent times now, the state government has devised a means by building cages to almost all the transformers in the city to cop criminals activities. But, this miscreants never give up but still device their means to go thieving.
Although, the government has declared a law which will persecute those caught in the act stealing anything from the electric transformers across the state.
