Traders - Garri no longer sells due to Lassa fever Outbreak

We all know how the government is trying to curtail the new plague in the country that has digged into 17 States and counting. But the fact that ordinary garri is been put on a lench still cradles trades arms.

Calabar Reporters took it to popular markets including Watt Market in Calabar, Ariaria market in Aba, Gboko market in Benue, Ogbete market in Enugu, Idomata market in Lagos and many others in survey of how the garri business is going. But this is the reply we get;

“from one madam Eno: people no longer buy garri because they are afraid of the so called Lassa fever.
From Mr. Obiora: I’ve been sitting since morning and no customer is even looking at my place.
Why others complains of their garri being refunded due to the hype being put on garri causing Lassa fever.”

This ought not be so, there are main factors that causes the lassa fever, you can read more here. For the most Nigerians live with their hearts in hands once news related to health comes up. You can still sip garri but by re-frying it again to help kill the virus.

How will Nigerians survive if garri is now a an enemy to all? Please drop your comments below, thanks.
