Once the most expensive teenager in the world, Anthony Martial has struggled to replicate all the potential he had over the near-decade he has spent at Old Trafford.
Martial was so highly rated that Monaco attached a Ballon d’Or clause in his contract, one that sadly did not come to pass.
Since signing for United in September 2015 for a then world record £36m for a teenager, fhe Frenchman has struggled to maintain any form of prolonged consistency mainly having to deal with injuries one too many times.
After 90 goals in 317 appearances for The Red Devils, Martial looks set to leave when his current contract expires as confirmed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
“Anthony Martial is going to leave – he had some opportunities in Turkey and France in the January transfer window, let’s see what will happen in the next months but for sure he’s not staying at Man United,” Romano stated.
There are still a few who recognize Martial’s talents as Italian publication Tuttosport reported that Juventus are looking at some attacking options including the 28-year-old Frenchman.
This comes after Felipe Anderson, who Juventus were expecting to sign on a free in the summer announced he was signing for Palmeiras instead.
According to the publication, The Old Lady should expect some competition from Tottenham who reportedly have an ‘interest’ in Martial as well.
The newspaper also goes on to highlight some of the Bianconeri’s concerns with Martial which include his €6m-a-year salary.
Tottenham’s interest in the Frenchman is the other Juventus deterrent as he could opt for Spurs to keep playing in the Premier League.
