As usual, Manchester United are almost always linked with a range of top players.
One of the areas that United were looking to strengthen was in defence.
And the window certainly shows that.
Bringing in Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui shows that the club were keen to strengthen the backline.
It’s usually difficult for a club like Manchester United to hide their interest in a player.

As we saw with the chase for Manuel Ugarte, it’s well known when United are after a player.
So it’s hugely surprising when the window closes and it’s revealed that Man Utd enquired for a player and were rebuffed.
But that’s exactly what seems to have happened.
You see, reports from Argentina have emerged that Manchester United and two other clubs enquired for a player from a rival English Premier League club.
TyC Sports journalist has shared a report that Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid all made approaches to sign Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Edul, the clubs expressed an interest to the club for the defender.
However, chairman Daniel Levy refused to even listen to any offers for the Argentine.
Cristiano Romero joined Spurs in 2021 in a deal for around £46m and has gone on to become a mainstay in their backline.
Edul claims that the coaching staff and management team were in agreement now was not the time to cash in.
However, there is expected to be more interest in the player this upcoming summer as Romero will only have two years remaining on his contract.
With United having brought in Yoro and de Ligt, it would likely require a range of defenders leaving the club to have space for Romero.
If both Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire exited Old Trafford, then the space in the squad for another centre back would definitely be there.
Cristian Romero would link up with fellow countryman Lisandro Martinez if he did make the move to Manchester.
For this season, at least, his immediate future is set to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Cristian Romero tuvo el interés de tres equipos en este mercado de pases:
Manchester United, PSG y Real Madrid.
Tottenham respondió que no lo vendía. Es fundamental para Postecoglou. Ni siquiera le puso precio.
