Manchester United are vastly short of attacking options, more so in the summer when Martial exits the club, and there is still no certainty if winger Jadon Sancho will still be at Old Trafford.

It is expected to be a big summer in terms of signings including in attack and as Spanish publication Fichajes reports, The Red Devils are being linked with Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry.

As football365 cites, United are interested in Gnabry to cover for their deficits in the flanks, especially with the looming departure of Jadon Sancho.

Gnabry has had a taste of the Premier League, albeit it was a grossly unsuccessful stint at Arsenal. Now many years older, wiser and more mature, he has developed into one of the finest attackers in the game and there is no doubt given another bite at the apple, he would excel in Europe’s top league.

There however is a twist to this story as Football Insider reports, Spurs also have concrete interest in the German wide man.

‘Bayern Munich are open to selling the 28-year-old, whose future is up in the air at the Bundesliga club as the end of the season approaches.

“The attacker has slipped down the pecking order at the German giants, with Gnabry having made just 17 appearances in all competitions this season. But the Germany international has many of the qualities admired by Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, with Gnabry able to play in multiple attacking positions,” they report.

Still only 28, he has already amassed close to 250 games for Bavarian giants Bayern Munich and is already one of the best and most versatile attackers in Europe.

With Bayern reportedly open to selling him, it will be interesting to see how the summer unfolds, if at all he ends up leaving Allianz Arena.
