  • Spy drones may be taken out with ‘force’ by homeowners in Florida

A new Florida Senate bill would allow homeowners in the state to use “reasonable force” to take down drones that violate a homeowner’s right to privacy.

According to Fox News, the Florida bill provides additional regulations regarding the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and increases the number of locations that are protected against drone flights throughout the state, including correctional facilities and airports. If approved, the legislation would also allow Florida homeowners to use “reasonable force” to prevent drones from violating their expectation of privacy.

“No one wants to have a drone sitting over their property, filming what they do for any number of reasons,” Raul Gastesi, a Florida attorney, told Fox News. “Almost every state has laws on privacy, including drones.”

According to Fox News, it is currently legal for drones to be flown over private residential areas as long as drones remain in unrestricted airspace. However, the outlet noted that drone pilots who cause a nuisance for homeowners could face prosecution for trespassing or stalking.

Florida’s “Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act” currently prohibits drone operators from using unmanned aircraft to capture photos or videos of private property; however, Fox News reported that the 2024 legislation does not prohibit a drone operator from using unmanned aircraft to capture a live view of private property.

Fox News reported that under the new Florida Senate legislation, homeowners would be authorized to use “reasonable force” against drones spotted flying over private property; however, the outlet noted that the legislation currently does not provide clarity regarding what is considered “reasonable force,” which could lead to issues with the Federal Aviation Administration.

U.S. law currently prevents people from shooting down or damaging any aircraft while it is in the air. In a statement to Fox News, the Federal Aviation Administration noted, “It’s illegal under federal law to shoot at an aircraft.” The Federal Aviation Administration added, “A private citizen shooting at any aircraft – including unmanned aircraft – poses a significant safety hazard.”

Gastesi told Fox News that while certain actions are “permissible” by state law, the same actions may violate federal law. He warned, “Just because your state says you can do it, doesn’t mean the federal government won’t prosecute you for it.”

The Federal Aviation Administration warned that if an unmanned aircraft was hit by gunfire, it could result in a crash, “damage to persons or property on the ground,” or a collision with other objects in the air.

The Federal Aviation Administration added, “Shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in a civil penalty from the FAA and criminal charges from federal, state or local law enforcement.”

  • You Are Free To Join Any Club, Leverkusen Tell Alonso

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has revealed that the club and Xabi Alonso have a gentlemen’s agreement that would allow him to leave if one of the clubs he played for during his career comes knocking.

Alonso has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid as the Spanish club eyes a summer rebuilding after crashing out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti’s contract is expected to run out at the end of the season, and Real Madrid are not expected to offer him a new contract, throwing the position open.

The 43-year-old enjoyed a remarkable career playing for the likes of Real Sociedad, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

Alonso is under contract at Bayer Leverkusen until June 2026.

He has led the club to the Bundesliga title, German Cup and DFB Supercup since taking over in 2022.

Carro has opened up on the club’s agreement with Alonso while addressing rumours about his future at the club.

He said, “We have a gentlemen’s agreement that if any of the teams he has played for call, we will sit down and talk, and we won’t put any obstacles in his way.

“Last year, Xabi had offers from important clubs, but he assured us that he would stay with us. Maybe it is a bit early to talk, as the season is still ongoing.

“Maybe things can happen. So we have given ourselves some time to decide … We are very calm, and there is not much more to say other than that.”

However, the CEO confirmed that the club has a good relationship with Real Madrid while maintaining that there has been no contact from the Spanish club for Alonso.

Carro said, “We are not naive, but the position of the coach is very important for a club, and we are preparing for the next season with him.

“We have been working with him every day; he is fully involved in that preparation. We are a very professional club, and we have to be prepared for everything.

“If at the end of the day there is interest from another club and he is interested in going to that club, we have a relationship that we would have to talk about.

“Xabi’s will is important in this; he respects us a lot, and we respect Xabi.”

In Alonso’s third season in charge, Leverkusen trail league leaders Bayern by eight points with four matches remaining. They were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich at the round-of-16 stage.

He has led the club to 18 wins, 10 draws, and two defeats in 30 Bundesliga matches this season.

  • Man arrested for selling adulterated cooking oil in Abuja

Vigilantes operating in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested a man accused of adulterating cooking oil and selling it to the public.

The commander of the VGN in the area, John Samuel, said the suspect, identified as Peter Amos, was arrested on Friday night at the Tipper garage area in Kabusa district, where he resides and also used to carry out the nefarious act.

In a confessional statement in a video obtained by Daily Trust on Sunday, April 20, the suspect was seen narrating how he packaged the fake cooking oil in the five-litre gallons that had been filled with water, to which he added a little quantity of cooking oil.

“I sell one gallon at the rate of N10,000 or less than that amount in some instances,” the suspect said.

He also claimed that he used to learn mechanic work in the past before he quit the business, and resorted to the fraudulent venture.

He promised to produce the other person who worked with him in the fraudulent act.

The vigilante commander said the arrest of the suspect came after complaints by some residents, who accused him of cheating them through a fraudulent act.

The commander said he had since been handed over to the police in the area for further investigation.

The police in the area confirmed the arrest but declined further comment.

  • Northern CAN Mourns Pope Francis, Calls For National Rebirth

The Christian Association of Nigeria in the 19 Northern states and Abuja has mourned the passing of Pope Francis, describing him as a spiritual father and global voice of conscience.

In a press statement signed by Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam, Chairman of Northern CAN, on Monday, the organisation called on Nigerians to reflect on the country’s moral direction and the need for national rebirth.

“Pope Francis lived out this calling through his relentless pursuit of compassion for the poor, dialogue among nations, and reconciliation among peoples.

“His passing during this season invites us as a nation to pause and reflect on our moral direction and the need for national rebirth,” Pam said.

The statement noted that the timing of Pope Francis’ passing during the Easter season is profoundly symbolic, calling for renewal and a new dawn for Nigeria.

“Easter is a season of renewal—a call to rise above pain and darkness into a new dawn,” he said.

CAN also condemned the ongoing insecurity, violence, and terrorism in several states, including Plateau, Benue, and Borno.

“The bloodshed, displacement, and destruction of communities are not just tragic—they are unacceptable,” Pam said. “We must not allow these challenges to become a new normal.”

The Christian organisation called on the federal government, state governors, security agencies, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to renew their commitment to protecting lives and restoring peace across Nigeria.

“The urgency of the situation demands unified action, genuine political will, and a return to justice and accountability at all levels of leadership,” Pam said.

CAN emphasised the need for unity among Christians, Muslims, and people of all faiths and backgrounds to heal the nation and restore the dignity of every Nigerian citizen.

“Let the memory and legacy of Pope Francis inspire us to reject indifference and apathy. Let us rise together—Christians, Muslims, and people of all faiths and backgrounds—to heal our land and restore the dignity of every Nigerian citizen,” Pam said.

The statement concluded by praying for the Catholic Church, the global Christian family, and Nigeria, and calling for a new determination to build a just, secure, and united Nigeria.

“May the passing of this great servant of God awaken in us a new determination to build a just, secure, and united Nigeria,” Pam said.

THE WHISTLER reports that only recently, a crisis engulfed the association over tenure elongation.

At the centre of the crisis is the tenure of Rev. Yakubu Pam, whose term as chairman allegedly expired over two years ago.

The crisis took a turn for the worse when Rev. Hayab’s group conducted an election, appointing him as the new chairman, while Rev. Pam’s faction has denounced the move, describing it as a “religious coup” and “fraudulent”.

  • Tennis: Ostapenko Stuns World Number One To Win Stuttgart Open

Unseeded Jelena Ostapenko produced a stunning performance to defeat world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 6-1 to win the clay court title in Stuttgart on Monday.

The Latvian capped off an impressive tournament, which saw her dump world number two Iga Swiatek out earlier in the tournament, with her first singles title of the year.

Ostapenko brought her best game to the court by brushing aside Sabalenka to win her first title on clay since her 2017 Roland Garros Grand Slam victory.

Surprisingly, Sabalenka struggled to cope with Ostapenko’s fierce baseline power and her serve all through the clash.

Ostapenko won the first set, and she quickly raced to a 5-1 lead in the second set, winning 16 of 18 points to break Sabalenka twice.

Ostapenko was delighted to win the competition, winning her first clay trophy since 2017.

She said, “Congrats, Aryna, on a great week. I think you hate me now because you wanted this car so badly.

“Every time I come here, I enjoy it so much, and thanks to everyone for making this week amazing for me. I am really happy today.

‟I felt very confident from the very first day. I had this strange but also good feeling that something special could happen here. I reckon I’ve earned it.”

Sabalenka has now suffered four defeats in the last five finals in Stuttgart.

She admitted that her performance was not good enough in the final.

Sabalenka said, I didn’t play my best tennis on the important points, and in the end, Jelena was simply brutally good. I’ve lost a lot of close finals. Learn the lesson and move on – that’s my plan. I’ll try to do better next year.”

Ostapenko will receive the prize money of $162,181 thanks to her triumph, while runner-up Sabalenka has been rewarded with a cheque of $99,878.

The 27-year-old has won eight WTA Tour-level singles and ten doubles titles, including a singles major at the 2017 French Open and a doubles major at the 2024 US Open.

She is the first Latvian to win a major in singles or doubles.

  • Klaus Schwab Steps Down From WEF Board Amid Globalist Retreat

Klaus Schwab Steps Down From WEF Board Amid Globalist Retreat

Schwab championed radical wokeness, bug eating, mass vaccination campaigns, population control, and climate de-growth policies

(ZH) – On the same day Pope Francis—known for his inclusive beliefs—passed away, another globalist fell: Klaus Schwab, the architect of the World Economic Forum’s dystopian agenda, announced he was stepping down from the WEF board. It marks the end of an era for Schwab, who championed radical wokeness, bug eating, mass vaccination campaigns, population control, and climate de-growth policies through what often resembled digital communism—social credit scores, central bank digital currencies, and many more China-like policies. Meanwhile, cultural shifts across the Americas signal a rising movement toward traditional values, sending the WEF’s ideological woke grip on governments, non-government organizations, corporations, the church, and society into disarray.

Following my recent announcement, and as I enter my 88th year, I have decided to step down from the position of Chair and as a member of the Board of Trustees, with immediate effect,” Schwab wrote in a statement.

Schwab stepped down as executive chairman one year ago (read: here), with former Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende taking over daily operations. WEF said Vice Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe was appointed board chairman in the interim and that a search committee for replacement had been appointed.

    WEF stated:

At a time when the world is undergoing rapid transformation, the need for inclusive dialogue to navigate complexity and shape the future has never been more critical. The Board of Trustees of the World Economic Forum underlines the importance of remaining steadfast in its mission and values as a facilitator of progress. Building on its trusted role, the Forum will continue to bring together leaders from all sectors and regions to exchange insights and foster collaboration.”

Might recognize some of the WEF’s board members…

Schwab’s resignation also comes three months after President Trump told globalist CEOs at the WEF’s 2025 Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, “America is back.” It also follows Trump and Elon Musk’s DOGE initiative, which nuked USAID programs that funneled billions of taxpayer dollars into corrupt NGOs.

Last month, Eric Weinstein made some very interesting comments at ARC 2025, indicating:

The post-World War II order has fallen. JD Vance has announced this – I personally think it’s very important that the US treat its friends in Europe very very well and it should be done in a fashion that lets people know that the US will be there for the long haul. I am sure that that is in the cards, but we have to realize that we are waking up from a very long period of time which I’ve called the “Great Nap”...

Did Trump’s MAGA derail Schwab’s ‘Great Reset’ plans?

    Looks like it.

    But globalists will rebrand.

    So stay tuned.

  • Nigeria Defeat Burkina Faso In Handball Championship

Nigeria’s women’s handball teams won their matches on Monday at the IHF Women’s Trophy Zonal Phase championship, ongoing in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as the under-18 women’s team fought hard to earn a 36-33 victory over Burkina Faso.

The under-20 team brushed aside Togo with a dominant 52-8 victory.

Nigeria’s U-18 girls overturned a three-goal halftime deficit to edge Burkina Faso 36–33 in a thrilling encounter, which saw the Burkinabé side dominate proceedings with fast breaks and well-coordinated wing play as well as forcing Nigeria to commit so many turnovers as they headed into the break with a 20–17 advantage.

But the second half was different, as Coach John Uzor’s side started playing more like the team that defeated Togo the previous day, with vital goals to outscore Burkina Faso, and also defended like their lives depended on it.

With precise finishes from the wings and dominant transitional play, Nigeria outscored their opponents 19–13 in the second half, sealing a hard-fought 36–33 victory that showcased resilience and tactical maturity.

They will play Ghana in their last match of group A on Tuesday at 1 pm

Later in the day, Nigeria’s U-20 women, in a goal-fest, ran riot over Togo with a 52–8 demolition that left spectators in awe.

Coach Shittu Agboola’s tutored team imposed themselves from the blast of the whistle, executing fast breaks with precision and applying high-pressure defence that left Togo with little room to breathe.

The wings operated with ruthless efficiency, while the backcourt players dictated tempo and dished out assists with flair.

By halftime, Nigeria had already opened up a commanding 24-6 lead, and they didn’t take their foot off the gas in the second half as they swiftly defeated Togo 52-8.

Nigeria’s under-18 women’s team will play the Benin Republic on Tuesday at 5 pm.
