  • North will unveil position on 2027 presidency in six months. No one can win without the North — Tinubu’s ex-aide, Baba-Ahmed

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has declared that the North will soon decide its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections, asserting that no presidential candidate can win without the region’s support.

In an interview that went viral on social media on Sunday, April 20, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the growing political awareness in the North and the region’s refusal to back candidates who fail to understand or address its challenges.

Appearing alongside Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Baba-Ahmed highlighted the impact of insecurity, particularly the devastation caused by Boko Haram, and stressed that northerners will no longer support leadership that ignores their plight. He said the North is tired of being marginalised and warned of serious consequences if such neglect continues.

“If they plan to rig the election, they should be careful. It won’t be good for Nigeria,” Baba-Ahmed warned, as he urged northerners to reject divisive and deceptive politicians. He also declared that within the next six months, the North would make its political position known, and the rest of the country would have to either align with it or go their own way.

Baba-Ahmed, who previously served as spokesperson for the Arewa Elders Forum before joining the presidency and later resigning, stated his commitment to rejoining the movement for northern emancipation. He stressed the importance of unity among all groups in the region — Muslims, Christians, Fulani, Baju, and Mangu — and warned against internal betrayal.

Reflecting on past challenges, including the era of Boko Haram attacks during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaigns, he recalled how both churches and mosques were targeted to destabilise the region. He said the North, having endured hardship under past and present administrations, has become more politically conscious and will demand leadership that genuinely understands its needs.

“The injustice and sidelining must stop,” he said. “The North is watching, and soon, our elders, our masses, and our interest groups will say ‘enough is enough.’” Baba-Ahmed issued a stern warning ahead of the 2027 elections, cautioning that any attempt to manipulate the process could have severe consequences. “Conducting a bad election in 2027 may lead to the end of Nigeria, I swear to God,” he said.

He concluded by affirming that northern elders and stakeholders are preparing to take a stand, and the time to act is fast approaching. “There will be a time we will come out and say it’s okay, and it’s soon. This injustice is over. We know who we are.

  • Bush-Era Swamp Creature Revealed To Be Key Figure In OKC Bombing Coverup

Bush-Era Swamp Creature Revealed To Be Key Figure In OKC Bombing Coverup

At the heart of a high profile cover-up: the Oklahoma City bombing

(ZH) – “As I have always said:  The only difference between the KGB and the FBI is that the KGB has never claimed to be a legitimate law enforcement agency.” ~ Jesse Trentadue

Readers may know the name John Ashcroft, attorney general under George W. Bush.

Well, good old Ashcroft was at the heart of a high profile cover-up: the Oklahoma City bombing, according to attorney Jesse Trentadue. The following comes from a court filing provided to ZeroHedge by Trentadue, attorney to OKC bombing accomplice Terry Nichols.

For context (per Jesse from kennethtrentadue.com): Jesse is the brother of Kenneth Michael Trentadue who died in August 1995, while incarcerated at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following the death, the Department of Justice (DOJ) immediately deemed it a suicide, denied the medical examiner access to the cell where Kenneth Trentadue was killed, ordered the cell cleaned and painted, and repeatedly asked both the medical examiner and Kenneth Trentadue’s family to authorize the cremation of his body. The medical examiner could not legally authorize cremation and the family refused, demanding that Kenneth’s body be returned to them. When Trentadue’s body was returned to the family, they removed heavy makeup and discovered bruises all over his body, from head to foot. The bruises, cuts, and other wounds depicted an obvious beating and murder.

    Now for the story…

While serving his prison sentence, Nichols attempted to spark an investigation into FBI involvement in the OKC bombing. He sent a letter stating that he could provide such information to the then head of the DOJ Ashcroft.

Ashcroft did not respond to the letter but immediately forbade the media from speaking to Nichols, which resulted in 60 Minutes cancelling a sit-down interview they had scheduled with Nichols, says Trentadue. Shortly thereafter, Nichols said he received a visit from a man presenting an offer from the DOJ to undo Nichols’ death sentence if he agreed to three conditions:

    • Take ownership of an anonymous warning the DOJ received saying the Murrah Building was bombed 30 minutes before it actually had been.
    • Implicate Nichols’ own brother in the bombing plot.
    • Reveal the location of the “Kinestick”, an explosive used in the bombing. Nichols mentioned having knowledge of an unused stache in his letter to Ashcroft. The existence of a remaining stache was not known at the time.

The existence of the mysterious call was independently corroborated in Stephen Jones’ book Others Unknown and even covered by ABC News:

It was discovered that the DOJ proxy (Michael Selby) who visited Nichols previously worked in Ashcroft’s private security detail. Trentadue helped to further corroborate that this meeting took place by telling ZH:

After the declaration was filed, Selby called me upset as hell.  Said that I had just got him “fucking killed.”  The attorney who brought Selby into meet Nichols is Rodney Uphoff.  A law professor at the University of Missouri.  I called Uphoff and he confirmed the event.

It is strange that such an offer – giving leniency to an accomplice to one of the most horrific domestic terrorist attacks in U.S. history – would be presented by someone who does not work at the DOJ and stipulate that Nichol take credit for an anonymous tip which he did not make.

Nichols ultimately did not accept the deal because he did not want to throw his brother under the bus.

The story, now part of official record thanks to Trentadue, serves as an interesting look into the true conspiracies that Ashcroft may have had a hand in.

To see the full spectrum of official documents that Jesse Trentadue has fought hard to force the government to release, follow his website named in honor of his brother who he believes was murdered by the FBI:

And for a great interview where Trentadue discusses the contents of this article and more, listen to friend-of-ZeroHedge Scott Horton interview Jesse just last month.

As for Ashcroft, after ‘retiring’ he started a private lobbying firm that quickly secured the Israeli government as its first client.

  • Ukrainian soldiers who were surrounded by Russians held out for 35 freezing days

This article was originally published by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and is reprinted with permission.

A Ukrainian commander whose unit held off daily Russian assaults while trapped in freezing ruins for more than a month says his team held on by finding strength they never knew they had.

Bohdan Kushnir had intended to make a brief inspection visit of the National Police Brigade’s position on Ukraine’s eastern front in Toretsk. But Kushnir and six other soldiers soon found themselves under Russian fire, with exits cut off.

The Ukrainians were often close enough to their enemy to shout taunts back and forth, while comrades with surveillance drones helped out by disclosing Russian positions to the pinned-down troops.

After three weeks, three of the seven Ukrainians were wounded and some fell ill amid freezing February temperatures. Nonetheless, they managed to continue firing from a home with crumbling walls and blown-out windows and doors.

As Kushhir recalled in an interview with RFE/RL, “You have a gun in your hand, and you are trying to survive, using all your instincts to save your unit.”

The Donetsk region city has been the focus of intense fighting for months, with Russians claiming control while Ukrainian forces reject the claim. The Russian forces nearby, including those fighting for control of Pokrovsk, have been beefed up, but advances have been slow and costly.

Much of Toretsk now lies in ruins, with little cover for troops engaged in intense urban combat.

Such conditions test soldiers’ resolve, according to Kushnir.

“I don’t consider myself a tough person, but sometimes you have to act like you never would in civilian life.”

He described the Russian units trying to take over the Ukrainian position as determined, if not effective.

“It was audacious,” Kushnir said. “Those weren’t just some random attackers. They would start at 5 a.m., and even if they couldn’t get through, they would be looking for another entry point until 5 p.m.”

He managed to film close-quarters shootouts in which each side is making audible shouts at each other. And while some Russians were apparently talked into surrendering, none was willing to return to a safer position.

“The group in this video wouldn’t retreat at all,” Kushnir said. “They all just died there.”

In early March, the Ukrainian forces were finally evacuated in armored vehicles, cheering as they rejoined their comrades to the west.

  • Leicester relegated from Premier League after disastrous season

Leicester City have been relegated from the Premier League following a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, marking a dramatic end to a turbulent campaign. The loss confirms the Foxes’ demotion to the Championship, joining Southampton as the second club to drop out of England’s top flight this season.

It is a bitter blow for a club that, less than a decade ago, stunned the world by winning the Premier League title in 2016 and lifted the FA Cup just a few years later. Now, Leicester face their second relegation in three seasons, slipping into the label of a “yo-yo” club struggling to maintain top-flight consistency.

The 2024–25 season has been one to forget for Leicester, marred by prolonged poor form and a lack of attacking threat. The team went more than 12 hours without scoring a home goal and secured just one win in their final 19 league fixtures, a run that sealed their fate long before the final whistle at Anfield.

The season began under Steve Cooper, but the Welsh manager was dismissed after just 12 games. At the time of his departure, Leicester had not dropped into the relegation zone, winning two, drawing four, and losing six matches. Cooper’s exit made headlines not only for its timing but also due to a viral video showing Leicester players partying in a nightclub with signs referencing former boss Enzo Maresca, suggesting player discontent behind the scenes.

Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy was brought in to steady the ship, but his appointment failed to spark a revival. Instead, Leicester tumbled into the relegation zone shortly after his arrival and remained there for nearly the entire second half of the campaign.

Despite flashes of individual quality, the team lacked cohesion and resilience, ultimately paying the price for managerial upheaval and poor performances. The club now faces a critical summer as it prepares for life in the Championship, hoping to regroup and chart a path back to the Premier League.

  • Leaked order reveals Trump’s plan for drastic US diplomatic cuts in Africa

A leaked draft White House executive order outlines plans for the United States to significantly reduce its diplomatic presence in Africa, as well as eliminate key State Department offices focused on climate change, democracy, and human rights.

This order, framed as a cost-cutting measure aligned with the White House’s priorities, also proposes sweeping reductions in US soft power globally.

While Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed the report by The New York Times, calling it “fake news” and a “hoax” in a post on X, a copy of the draft obtained by AFP calls for a “full structural reorganisation” of the State Department by October 1st of this year.

The draft states the aim is “to streamline mission delivery, project American strength abroad, cut waste, fraud, abuse, and align the Department with an America First Strategic Doctrine.”

The most significant change would be the restructuring of US diplomatic efforts into four regional bureaus: Eurasia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific, effectively eliminating the current Africa Bureau. In its place, a “Special Envoy Office for African Affairs” would be created, reporting directly to the White House’s National Security Council, bypassing the State Department.

“All non-essential embassies and consulates in Sub-Saharan Africa shall be closed,” the draft specifies, with remaining missions consolidated under the special envoy through “targeted, mission-driven deployments.” The focus in Africa would shift towards counterterrorism and “the strategic extraction and trade of critical natural resources.”

Read also: EPL: Leicester relegated as Liverpool draw closer to title; Arsenal, Chelsea win

The US diplomatic presence in Canada, a long-standing ally, would also be “significantly reduced,” and the embassy in Ottawa would be “significantly downscaled.”

Tom Yazdgerdi, president of the American Foreign Service Association, representing US diplomats, expressed concern, stating, “It looks like a hatchet job. It looks like we’re pulling back from the world.”

The plan proposes extensive cuts to American soft power and diminished participation in multilateral organizations.

Though the draft executive order has not been publicly discussed by officials, it aligns with previous moves to cut US initiatives and question traditional alliances, including NATO.

An earlier leaked plan suggested cutting the State Department’s entire budget by half.

The State Department recently announced the shutdown of an agency designed to combat foreign disinformation campaigns. The administration has also dismantled USAID, the US government’s foreign aid arm.

The new draft proposes eliminating offices dealing with climate change, oceans, global criminal justice, human rights, and the State Department’s office for Afghan women and girls.

A decades-old program aimed at projecting US cultural and English-language influence, including the Fulbright program, would also face significant cuts.

This follows Trump’s ongoing efforts to dismantle Voice of America, the broadcast network targeting audiences in repressive countries.

Yazdgerdi criticized the proposed cuts as a “self-inflicted wound,” stating, “Soft power, he said, is “what showcases America. This is the inspiring element. Yes, there’s a fearful element in that we have an awesome military, and you need that of course, but this is what inspires people. You’re basically ceding the field to countries that have no issue filling the void — Russia and China immediately spring to mind.”

  • Far-Left Boston Mayor’s Campaign Funding linked to China?

Far-Left Boston Mayor’s Campaign Funding linked to China?

    Funded By Dem Power Broker

(Tyler Durden Reports) – Boston Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu has positioned herself as anything but ‘America First’—doubling down on sanctuary policies that defend criminal illegal aliens. Her liberal sanctuary city laws increasingly undermine national security, raising serious questions about why she has embraced such a dangerous stance.

A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has potentially uncovered why the far-left mayor stands with illegal aliens and not with bolstering national security after the disastrous Biden-Harris regime’s migrant invasion:

Boston Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu’s 2021 campaign received hundreds of thousands of dollars from a fundraiser who is listed by a Chinese intelligence agency as an official, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered.

Gary Yu, the founder of Boston International Media Consulting, helped raise over $300,000 for Wu with the help of a Chinese civic association he leads. However, Yu — whose Chinese name is Yu Guoliang — is listed as an official by an agency of a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence and intelligence service called the United Front Work Department (UFWD), and also operates as a recruiter for the Chinese government, according to reports from the CCP, Chinese state media and civic associations led by Yu.

Forensic analysis of public records reveals a web of entities connected to “Gary Guoliang Yu” by one degree of separation, including DCNF’s target: Boston International Media Consulting.

China’s strategy to influence state and local policymakers is executed, in part, through hundreds of ostensibly ‘civil society’ organizations that are actually affiliated with the CCP’s UFWD,” Michael Lucci, CEO of State Armor, a nonprofit focused on countering the CCP, told the DCNF.

Lucci noted, “Xi Jinping considers United Front work a critical tool to undermine democracies. It involves influence peddling, intelligence collection, and intellectual property theft, all for the end goal of aligning U.S. subnational governments with China’s foreign policy and exploiting weaknesses they find.”

China expert Gordon Chang told the DCNF, “There is no ethnic Chinese official in America who is not targeted. It’s time for law enforcement to investigate the CCP’s ties to Gary Yu and Yu’s ties to Mayor Michelle Wu.”

Wu’s ultra-leftism makes her the perfect candidate for CCP recruitment and capture,” Chang said, adding, “Or do we have it backward? Is her ultra-leftism the result of CCP recruitment and capture? More than just the people of Boston would like to know.”

Mayor Wu has continued to state she will not comply with mass deportations of criminal illegal aliens.

Wu’s stance is deeply alarming, as harboring criminal illegal aliens poses a very clear threat to national security.

Policies like these don’t serve the American people—they serve foreign adversaries like China, which seeks to destabilize the U.S. from within as it prepares for war.

  • Bay Area Gen-Z entrepreneur uses AI to help job seekers

Michael Yan, co-founder and CEO of Simplify, is on a mission to transform the job search process using artificial intelligence. After experiencing firsthand the frustrations of job hunting — applying to over 100 positions per cycle, manually entering repetitive information, and struggling to stay organized — Yan and his team set out to create a better solution.

The result was Simplify, a platform designed to streamline recruiting and make job searching more efficient, transparent and fair.

Founded by Stanford and Berkeley dropouts, Simplify aims to democratize job opportunities regardless of a candidate’s background, location or education. The Artificial Intelligence-powered platform acts as a personal job assistant, guiding users through every hiring process step, from personalized job discovery to one-click applications and seamless organization. Since its launch, Simplify has processed over 30 million job applications, saving users thousands of hours and significantly increasing their chances of landing offers.

Given the churn in the job market, that’s understandable. The number of Californians looking for jobs jumped by more than 52,000 in the last six months of 2024, and more than 141,000 in the Bay Area now are seeking work, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The company sparked debate over changes in job search in social media last year, with some commenting that programs like Simplify make everyone mass apply, and others saying that’s unavoidable, but one of the co-founders responded, and most users had a positive impression.

Yan, a former software engineer at Meta, left Stanford to build Simplify in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. As the platform continues to grow, Yan discussed the challenges of modern job searching, the role of AI in recruitment, and his vision for making hiring more accessible for everyone.

Q: What inspired you to leave Stanford University and start Simplify?

A: I didn’t intend for this to happen. At Stanford, while applying for a software engineering job at Meta, I sent out over 150 applications. It was frustrating, and I had never made a resume or written a cover letter before. Finding jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed felt impersonal, and they didn’t know my skills or interests. So, in my dorm, I built a simple program to find and apply to software engineering jobs using a Chrome extension. I posted it online, and 10,000 people joined the waitlist within months. That’s when I realized how much demand there was. I wanted to build something I’d use because job hunting is frustrating, and I knew others felt the same. Getting into YC was the big push that made me take the leap. Y Combinator (YC) is a venture capital firm and startup accelerator that helps early-stage companies.

Q: What challenges did you face as a young entrepreneur, and how did you overcome them?

A: I had the idea for Simplify at 19 and turned 21 during YC. Learning to build a company, from hiring to scaling, was a huge challenge. Getting our first users was tough since we had little funding and couldn’t compete with Indeed or LinkedIn on ads. So, we got creative. After “Squid Game” came out, I printed 10,000 business cards like the ones in the show and handed them out at Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, Harvard and Northeastern. It grabbed attention, and we gained many early users that way. Trying to compete with giants wasn’t easy, but scrappy growth strategies made the difference.

Q: Can you explain what Simplify does and how it helps job seekers?

A: I like to describe Simplify Copilot’s mission as giving every professional a personal talent agent. Athletes and musicians have agents dedicated to advancing their careers, so why shouldn’t the average professional have the same support? AI makes this possible. Simplify understands who you are, your career goals, and what you want to achieve, helping you get there. At its core, Simplify helps people find and apply for job opportunities. You create a profile, and we match you with jobs across the web while automating applications. That’s the vision behind what we’re building.

Q: How does Simplify differentiate itself from other job search platforms like LinkedIn or Indeed?

A: LinkedIn and Indeed are the two big players in the career space, but we all serve different roles. Indeed is essentially a job board where companies post jobs, and users apply. LinkedIn is more of a social network with a job search feature, but its focus is on professional connections. Simplify, on the other hand, is built entirely around the job seeker. You create a detailed profile, including your salary expectations, work history, skills and career goals, and we match you with the right opportunities. We also help generate resumes, cover letters and even apply on your behalf. Think of it as a full-spectrum job search Copilot, designed to guide you through the entire process, not just connect you to listings.

Q: Do you think AI will replace traditional job-searching methods?

A: I definitely think it will. AI has made it easier than ever to apply for jobs, generate resumes and write cover letters. But now, companies are also using AI to filter applicants. So in many cases, AI is essentially talking to AI to identify talent. I believe the future of job searching will come down to who has the most information on candidates. If I know you want to make $100,000, work in San Francisco and prefer a remote-friendly job, I can find better opportunities for you than any other platform. The real value won’t be in AI-generated applications or filtering, but it will be in the depth of data platforms have on job seekers and how much users trust them to find the right opportunities.

Q: What new features or improvements can we expect from Simplify as AI continues to evolve?

A: Our core features include job discovery, application autofill, and AI-generated resumes and cover letters. Next, we’re enhancing networking by showing users connections at companies they’re interested in. We’re also building career roadmaps, helping users set long-term goals, like moving from engineer to manager, with step-by-step guidance.

  • Nigeria Defeat Togo In Handball Zonal Tournament Opening Match

Nigeria’s U-18 Women’s Handball team started their IHF Trophy’s Zonal Phase championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire with an emphatic 53-21 victory over Togo in the Youth Category on Sunday.

The team tutored by Coach John Uzor, and his deputy Coach Bukola Duru were swift and ruthless especially from the wings, and fast breaks as well as defending resolutely to win the first half 21-8.

The second part of the match saw Nigeria continue in their amazing way there was really nothing the opponent could do as they finished the match with a commanding 53-21 victory.

It was a surprise that despite the annihilating victory, none of the fantastic Nigeria girls were voted as MVP as the award went to a Togolese player.

Coach John Uzor, though, said he wasn’t disappointed as the victory was enough to gratify him in his push to ensure his team make history in the competition.

He said: “I am very excited about the victory. The Girls played to our instructions to the letter which enabled them to score so many goals. Whether their efforts were recognized or not is not my worry as the victory is much more important than the MVP award.”

Nigeria’s Under 18 Women Handball team will play Burkina Faso on Monday at 9am while later in the day, Nigeria’s Under 20 Women Handball team will play their first match of the competition against Togo in the Junior category at 3pm.
