    Behind UK’s Malicious Racial Violence

    Labelled:  “far-right thuggery”

    21WIRE

TNT Radio guest host Basil Valentine speaks with ex-Worker’s Party candidate Heiko Khoo, to discuss the troubling racial conflict and violence currently taking place across the UK which is being labelled as “far-right thuggery”, whilst challenging the government’s response solution which so far has been to lock people up rather than addressing the issues at its core.

The recent tensions in Britain are mainly directed towards the “Muslim” immigrant community led by far-right groups and agitators like Tommy Robinson. Since Oct 7 not only Muslims but many other communities have banded together in support of Palestine, whilst on the other hand, one in four MPs have received money from pro-Israel lobbyists.

  • Michigan man allegedly held woman hostage in closet for months, tortured her, and stole her money

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (TCN) — A 34-year-old man stands accused of holding a 58-year-old woman hostage for six months and torturing her over a drug debt.

According to an Aug. 8 press release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Darren Dawson allegedly held the victim against her will in a closet in his apartment from November 2023 to April. Authorities allege that during this time, Dawson tortured the woman and stole her Social Security money and food stamps.

The prosecutor’s office charged Dawson with torture, unlawful imprisonment, and larceny by conversion of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000. He could be sentenced to life in prison if he is found guilty of torture. Dawson appeared in court for his arraignment, and he received a bond of $1 million.

Dawson remains held in the Macomb County Jail and will have to wear a GPS monitor if released. He also must not contact the victim or possess any firearms. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 20.

In a statement, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said, “The victim endured unimaginable suffering in what can only be described as a living nightmare. Our office is committed to seeking justice for her, and we will pursue every avenue to ensure this individual is held fully accountable for the alleged crimes committed.”

UK’s Met Police Chief Threatens “Keyboard Warriors” With Terrorism Charges

    “We will come after you.”

    modernity

    Paul Joseph Watson

Head of the Met Police Sir Mark Rowley has warned that “keyboard warriors” could be hit with terrorism charges for inciting riots online, even if they are living abroad.

Rowley made the comments in response to waves of rioting that unfolded across the UK following the murder of three young girls at a Taylor Swift dance class in Southport by a 17-year-old of Rwandan migrant origin via his parents.

Asserting that the “full force of the law” would be used against offenders, Rowley made it clear that this included not just people physically involved in the riots, but those who make inflammatory comments about them on social media.

“And whether you’re in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you,” Rowley threatened.

A Sky News reporter than mentioned Elon Musk as a ‘high profile figure’ who was “whipping up hatred,” when in fact Musk merely asked Prime Minister Keir Starmer, “Why aren’t all communities protected in Britain?”.

“What are you considering when it comes to dealing with people who are whipping up from behind a keyboard and maybe is in a different country,” the reporter asked Rowley.

“Being a keyboard warrior does not make you safe from the law, you can be guilty of offences of incitement, of stirring up racial hatred, there are numerous terrorist offences regarding the publishing of material, all of those offences are in play if people are provoking hatred and violence on the streets and we will come after those individuals just as we will physically confront on the streets the thugs and the yobs who are causing the problems for communities,” said Rowley.

As we highlighted yesterday, authorities have warned Brits that merely retweeting information about the riots could lead to criminal charges.

Stephen Parkinson, the Director of Public Prosecutions, told Sky News that people do not even need to personally post the content themselves to be deemed to be committing an offence.

Parkinson said social media users could be guilty of “incitement to racial hatred” if they post “insulting or abusive” content that is “likely to stir up racial hatred.”

  • Utah man executed 25 years after he sexually assaulted, mutilated, and killed ex-girlfriend’s mother

SALT LAKE CITY (TCN) — A 48-year-old man was put to death early Thursday morning, 25 years after he was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend’s mother in front of her three grandchildren.

The Utah Department of Corrections confirmed at 12:30 a.m. that Taberon Honie died by lethal injection.

Department of Corrections officials said in a news conference that Honie said prior to the execution, “From the start, it’s been, if it needs to be done for them to heal, let’s do this. If they tell you you can’t change, don’t listen to them. To all my brothers and sisters here, continue to change. I love you all, take care.”

Prison officials administered pentobarbital at 12:04 a.m. A second dose was administered at 12:13 a.m. Honie was declared dead at 12:25 a.m. His father and cousin reportedly performed a Hopi death ceremony after he was pronounced deceased.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Honie’s death marks the first death row execution in the state since 2010. The last time a lethal injection was administered was 1999.

The Utah Department of Corrections provided details about Honie’s last day, saying he spent time with his parents, sisters, daughter, and other relatives. His last meal consisted of a cheeseburger, milkshake, and fries. He reportedly told his family to “keep their heads up” and “was even cracking jokes.” He was described as being in a “jovial mood.”

According to court documents, on July 9, 1998, at approximately 8 p.m., Honie called his ex-girlfriend, Carol Pikyavit, and told her to come over to his house. She reportedly declined, and he threatened that he would kill her mother and nieces. Pikyavit and her sister left for work at around 10:30 p.m., and they left their three children in Claudia Benn’s care. Honie called a cab at 11:20 p.m. and went to Benn’s house. The cab driver reportedly “could tell that Mr. Honie was intoxicated,” but he still knew how to get there.

At 12:20 a.m., police arrived at Benn’s house after several neighbors called. When they got there, police noticed a sliding door to enter the home was broken. Officers saw Honie fleeing the house from the garage and ordered him to get on the ground. He reportedly had blood “from his fingertips to his elbows,” and told one of the officers, “I stabbed her. I killed her with a knife.”

Police found Benn partially nude and face-down on the living room floor. A bloody kitchen knife was left close to her head.

Court documents say two of the three children “had some blood on them,” but one of them, identified as D.R., “was covered, literally, head to toe with blood.”

D.R. was not wearing underwear at the time. A social worker gave the girl a new pair of underwear, but doctors decided to examine her after finding blood on the undergarment. She reportedly sustained “abrasions in her genital area that were consistent with rubbing or fondling.” Doctors believe she got the wounds within less than 24 hours.

The medical examiner said Benn’s throat had been cut from her neck to her ear, and there was a cut through her backbone. Court documents say her genitalia had been mutilated and stabbed.

Honie reportedly confessed to detectives that he broke into Benn’s house and killed her. He reportedly “expressed remorse for killing the victim, stating repeatedly that Claudia was not meant to die.”

Honie went to trial in 1999 and was convicted of aggravated murder with aggravating factors of object rape, forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual assault, burglary, and aggravated burglary. The jury could not reach a verdict on a final aggravating factor of aggravated child sexual abuse.

Honie appealed the verdict and sentence throughout the years, arguing he had ineffective counsel and insufficient evidence to convict him, among other reasons. The Utah Supreme Court affirmed the ruling in May 2014.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said following the execution, “Early this morning the state of Utah fulfilled its legal obligation to carry out the execution of Taberon Honie. The actions of Mr. Honie that lead to his death sentence are heinous. I respect the process of our criminal justice system, and recognize the countless public servants who meticulously planned and approached their responsibilities with professionalism. I hope this brings closure to those impacted by the crimes. My heart goes out to the victim’s family.”

Attorney General Sean Reyes also released a statement saying, “We understand there are deeply held beliefs, powerful emotions and divergent views regarding the death penalty. Death by execution is one of the most extreme uses of government power. Many would argue it is ineffective, improper, and beyond the authority of man to exercise. Many would disagree. But there is no dispute that the violent and unprovoked taking of innocent lives from fellow human beings is among the crimes deemed by society to be most vile, repugnant and punishable by the harshest measures possible. In states like Utah, that includes the death penalty.”

His statement went on, “As such, the State of Utah approached the exercise of its power and attendant responsibilities with the seriousness and solemnity that such an act merits. We hope opponents of the death penalty allow grace for those who carried out their duties as required by the law and did so with respect, professionalism, and, in some cases, in spite of their own personal views.”

Reyes wrote that he hopes Honie’s execution “is a deterrent to other heinous crimes and pray it provides some measure of comfort to those who have been awaiting justice for decades.”

  • Fact Check: Kamala Harris says Donald Trump ‘intends to cut’ Medicare. This ignores Trump’s repeated pledges

On the campaign trail, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have painted former President Donald Trump as a threat to Medicare, the federal health insurance program for all Americans older than 65.

A little more than a week after becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee, Harris said during a July 30 rally in Atlanta, “Donald Trump intends to cut Social Security and Medicare.”

We previously rated Harris’ comments about Trump cutting Social Security Mostly False. Here, we’ll examine her statement about Medicare.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump has repeatedly said he would not cut Medicare.

As president, though, Trump regularly proposed policies that would have reduced Medicare spending. Policy experts disagree about whether Medicare beneficiaries would have borne the brunt of those cuts.

“It’s difficult to know with any certainty what Donald Trump’s agenda for Medicare would be, given the lack of specificity in his platform and the vagueness of phrases like ‘strengthen Medicare’ and ‘protect Medicare,’” said Juliette Cubanski, deputy director of the program on Medicare policy at KFF, a health care policy think tank. “While his campaign platform rules out cuts to Medicare, that could still leave the door open for changes to Medicare that might not look like cuts but that would fundamentally transform the defined-benefit nature of the program.”

Defined-benefit programs automatically pay member benefits. In defined-contribution plans, the opposite happens —  beneficiaries receive a fixed amount of money from which they must cover all their costs, even if that means members may pay excess costs out of pocket.

Trump’s comments about Medicare during the 2024 campaign

In his 2024 campaign, Trump has made clear that his Medicare policy is to make no cuts.

On Jan. 20, 2023, as part of a series of policy statements called Agenda 47, Trump posted, “Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security.”

He reiterated this stance in the Republican Party platform released earlier this year. In the platform summary, he promised to “fight for and protect Social Security and Medicare with no cuts.” The party’s full platform document added that the goal is to “protect Medicare, and ensure seniors receive the care they need without being burdened by excessive costs.”

Trump’s Medicare proposals during his presidency

When contacted for comment, Harris’ campaign pointed PolitiFact to a variety of proposals for Medicare then-president Trump included in his annual budget proposals, some of which can be characterized as cuts. As with many presidential budget proposals, generally, Trump’s Medicare proposals were not enacted.

As president, Trump submitted four successive proposed budgets, covering fiscal years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Trump proposed eliminating Medicare State Health Insurance Assistance Programs, which advise Medicare recipients on how to sign up for benefits and manage billing disputes. He also proposed raising premiums and charging beneficiaries more for prescription drugs under Medicare Part D; and limiting payments to nursing homes and home health agencies.

“Donald Trump tried to cut Social Security and Medicare,” Harris campaign spokesperson Joseph Costello told PolitiFact. “Trump’s own record makes clear that he will gut critical benefits for millions of Americans if he takes power.”

However, other policies Trump advocated for were aimed at curbing spending on providers, not reducing patients’ benefits. This broad goal, and sometimes these specific proposals, have often received bipartisan support.

“In general, these proposals are in areas where there is evidence we pay providers too much,” Matthew Fiedler, of the Brookings Institution Center for Health Policy, told PolitiFact in 2019.

In analyzing Trump’s fiscal year 2021 budget proposal, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget — a group supporting lower deficits — concluded that Trump’s Medicare policies that year “would not represent reductions in benefits, but instead reductions in cost for roughly the same level of benefits.” On balance, the group said that Trump’s policies “would actually reduce costs for individuals by lowering premiums and out-of-pocket costs.”

What role, if any, would Project 2025 play?

Project 2025 is a 922-page policy guide for an incoming Republican administration assembled by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, along with other conservative groups.

Democrats have sought to link Project 2025 to Trump, and while the former president has expressed views that align with some of the project’s policy proposals, Project 2025 is distinct from Trump’s official campaign positions and from the Republican Party platform. Trump has rebutted efforts to tie him to it.

The blueprint, published in 2023, says it would make the privately run Medicare option, called Medicare Advantage, the default choice for beneficiaries; increase competitive bidding for services; and ease regulations on prescription drugs, hospice care and medical savings accounts.

Experts told PolitiFact that if Trump followed these recommendations, it would not necessarily result in cuts for beneficiaries.

“Policymakers and researchers disagree on whether the reforms outlined in the Project 2025 report would work, and whether there could be adverse consequences,” said Christine Eibner, a senior economist on health care policy for Rand, a think tank. She added that the same could be said about the policy efforts proposed by the Biden administration.

“While such changes would aim to cut spending, they wouldn’t necessarily reduce beneficiaries’ access to care — although the devil is in the details,” Eibner said.

Joe Antos, a senior fellow emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, said the specific policies urged by Project 2025 are largely in line with past ideas to make Medicare more efficient.

“Simplistic claims from either party about Medicare or their opponent’s plans are not useful and generally are misleading,” Antos said.

    Our ruling

Harris said Trump “intends to cut” Medicare.

Trump has made clear in speeches and written policy documents during the 2024 campaign that he has no plans to cut Medicare.

The Harris campaign points to Trump’s four successive annual budgets in which he proposed policies that could be described as cutting Medicare. However, experts disagree about whether those cuts would have hurt beneficiaries had they been enacted. Some of Trump’s proposed cuts were aimed at curbing spending on providers, a goal that has bipartisan support.

We rate the statement Mostly False.

  • the Buildzone Trio. – The US Times

In today’s world, people are increasingly aware of the impact of human activities on the environment. As a result, the demand for sustainable and eco-friendly living solutions is rapidly growing. At Buildzone Housing Solutions, we recognize the significance of constructing homes that not only serve as a place of shelter but also have a positive impact on the environment. We believe in the Buildzone Trio – sustainability, affordability, and green living – as the foundation of our approach to building homes. Our goal is to create homes that are not only eco-friendly but also cost-effective, so that everyone can have access to sustainable living solutions.

The Buildzone Trio: Sustainability, Affordability, and Green Living.

Buildzone Housing Solutions has developed a unique concept called the Buildzone Trio, which seamlessly integrates sustainability, affordability, and green living into our homes. This innovative approach creates a winning combination that benefits both the environment and homeowners. Our commitment to sustainable practices and materials ensures that our homes have a reduced environmental impact, while still being affordable for homeowners. By incorporating the latest eco-friendly technologies and materials, we strive to create homes that are not only energy-efficient but also comfortable, stylish, and healthy to live in.

    Sustainability

At Buildzone Housing Solutions, we believe that sustainability is not just a buzzword but a fundamental principle that should be ingrained in every home we build. We are committed to creating homes that are both environmentally responsible and financially sustainable for our clients.

For instance, our homes are constructed using eco-friendly materials like bamboo, recycled steel, and insulation made from recycled materials. These materials not only have a lower environmental impact than traditional building materials but also contribute to the overall sustainability of the home.

In addition, we design our homes with features that promote energy efficiency and reduce waste, such as energy-efficient appliances, water-saving fixtures, and dual-pane windows. We also integrate renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines into our homes, allowing homeowners to generate their own clean energy and reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.

Sustainability is at the heart of our company, and we take pride in creating homes that have a positive impact on the environment and the community. By choosing a sustainable home from Buildzone, homeowners can rest assured that they are contributing to a more sustainable future for themselves and future generations..

The Importance of Sustainability in Housing Solutions

Sustainability is a crucial aspect of housing solutions in today’s world. The impact of the construction industry on the environment cannot be ignored, as it accounts for a staggering 39% of global energy-related CO2 emissions. To put this into perspective, a single-family home can produce up to 10 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year during construction alone. This highlights the need for us to be mindful of our building practices and ensure that they are sustainable.

At Buildzone Housing Solutions, we are committed to providing sustainable housing solutions that not only benefit the environment but also homeowners. Our approach to sustainability includes the use of sustainable materials and renewable energy sources. We use materials such as bamboo, recycled steel, and insulation made from recycled materials to construct our homes. These materials are not only eco-friendly, but they are also durable and require minimal maintenance.

Furthermore, we incorporate renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines in our homes. These sources of energy are clean and sustainable, reducing the carbon footprint of our homes. Our homes are also designed to be energy-efficient, ensuring that homeowners save money on energy bills while also reducing their impact on the environment.

Sustainability is not just about protecting the environment, but it also means meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Our homeowners can take pride in knowing that they are contributing to a sustainable future for generations to come.

Affordability: A Key Component of the Buildzone Trio

At Buildzone Housing Solutions, we believe that sustainable and eco-friendly homes should be accessible to everyone. Unfortunately, many people are priced out of the market due to the high costs associated with these types of homes. However, we are committed to providing affordable housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients without compromising on sustainability, quality, and comfort.

According to a report by the National Association of Home Builders, green homes can sell for up to 9% more than traditional homes. This means that investing in a sustainable home can potentially increase its value over time, making it a wise financial decision for homeowners.

To ensure affordability, we use cost-effective materials that are also sustainable and we prioritize energy efficiency in our designs, incorporating high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, Energy Star rated appliances, and LED lighting. These features help homeowners save money on utility bills in the long run.

We also believe that affordability is not just about the initial cost of the home but also its maintenance and upkeep costs. Our homes are designed to be durable and low-maintenance, reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacements. This, in turn, translates to long-term savings for homeowners. By providing sustainable and affordable housing solutions, we aim to make a positive impact on the environment and improve the quality of life for homeowners.

    Green Living: Promoting Sustainable Lifestyles

At Buildzone Housing Solutions, we believe that sustainability extends beyond the physical structure of a home. Our approach to green living encompasses the lifestyle choices that come with it. We strive to promote sustainable living by designing our homes to encourage eco-friendly habits among homeowners.

We incorporate features such as community gardens, bike racks, and composting facilities into our homes to promote sustainable living. Community gardens provide homeowners with fresh produce, reducing the environmental impact of commercially grown produce while fostering a sense of community. Bike racks promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation, reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality. Our composting facilities encourage homeowners to recycle organic waste, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and promoting sustainable waste management practices.

These green living features not only benefit the environment but also contribute to the well-being of homeowners. They promote healthy, active lifestyles while reducing the overall environmental impact of the home. At Buildzone, we believe that sustainable living is a lifestyle choice, and we are committed to making it accessible to all.

    Why the Buildzone Trio Matters.

The Buildzone Trio is critical for a sustainable future, and we are proud to offer this unique approach to housing solutions. We believe that sustainability and affordability are not mutually exclusive, and our commitment to both is what sets us apart. By building homes that are environmentally friendly and affordable, we can make sustainable living accessible to more people. For instance, our homes are designed to use less energy and reduce waste, resulting in lower utility bills for homeowners.

Furthermore, our approach to sustainability has economic benefits beyond lower utility bills. For example, our homes use durable materials and are designed to be energy-efficient, which can lead to a higher resale value in the long term. This means that investing in a Buildzone home is not just an investment in your future, but also an investment in the planet’s future. Overall, the Buildzone Trio is a win-win for homeowners, the environment, and future generations..

    What You Can Do.

Investors and homeowners alike have a vital role to play in creating a sustainable future. By investing in or choosing sustainable housing solutions, you can contribute to a better world for all. • CNN Effectively Worthless After Parent Warner Bros Takes $9.1 Billion Writedown | The Liberty Beacon

(Tyler Durden Reports) – What had been obvious “to the rest of us” for years, is finally official: late last night, shares of Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent of CNN and TNT, crashed 10% to the lowest level on record after it reported dire results, which missed across the board and plunged across every income statement category…

… but the biggest hit – and surprise – was the company’s stunning $9.1 billion charge taken to write down the value of its traditional TV networks, such as CNN and TNT, which were acquired in 2022 when Warner Bros Discovery was created as part of its acquisition of WarnerMedia. The write down confirmed that legacy cable channels like CNN and TNT are no longer worth what they were when the $42 billion merger was completed. In fact, judging by the ongoing mass layoffs at the former, one can argue that CNN’s value is now negative and will continue to be so until it stops hemorrhaging cash.

For the quarter, Warner Bros. reported a net loss of $10 billion, which included additional charges of $2.1 billion related to its merger. Revenue for the quarter fell 6.2% to $9.71 billion. Of note, the revenue collapse in the company’s Networks segment, which includes CNN, just won’t stop.

“Two years ago market valuations and prevailing conditions for legacy media companies were quite different than they are today,” CEO David Zaslav said on a call with investors on Wednesday. “This impairment acknowledges this and better aligns our carrying values with our future outlook.”

As Bloomberg notes, the writedown follows last month’s decision by the NBA to drop Warner Bros. as a broadcast partner and award a $76 billion, 11-year media rights deal to Walt Disney, Comcast and Amazon.com. Warner Bros. filed a lawsuit against the NBA last month alleging a breach of contract.

“At this point, we’ve handed it off to our lawyers,” Zaslav said on the call. “We have confidence in our position.”

More importantly, the writedown reflects the continued exodus of viewers from cable networks like roaring propaganda dumpster fire CNN to streaming, taking with them the advertising sales and subscriber fees that supply most of the revenue for conventional TV. The changes have rippled across media. Disney, which announced third-quarter results earlier Wednesday, reported declines in linear television advertising sales and subscribers, sending the stock to a ten year low and once again confirming that once you go woke… well, everyone knows what happens next.

Warner Bros. has eliminated more than 2,000 positions over the past year and slashed 100 jobs at CNN last month. The company raised subscription prices for its Max streaming service in June.

Under different management teams over the past 20 years, Warner Bros. has been involved in some of the worst and most criticized merger deals. They include the $124 billion merger of Time Warner with America Online in 2001 and the later purchase of Time Warner by AT&T Inc. for $87 billion in 2018.

Warner Bros. shares plunged as much as 9.9% to $6.95, the lowest price since the stock of the merged company began trading in April 2022, and down over 70% in the past two years.

  • Minnesota woman accused of killing ex allegedly said 'I stabbed his a–'

MOORHEAD, Minn. (TCN) — A woman allegedly fatally stabbed her ex-boyfriend and told officials, “Someone had to end it.”

Shortly after midnight on Aug. 4, the Moorhead Police Department responded to Third Avenue North in reference to a possible stabbing. Police located the victim, 47-year-old Willard DeGroat, with a stab wound to the chest. He was transported to Sanford Medical Center and later pronounced deceased.

Officers said the suspect, Connie Jo Frank, also 47, returned to the scene, and they took her into custody. Police didn’t provide further details on the relationship between the suspect and victim, but according to a criminal complaint obtained by KSTP-TV, the two had previously been in a relationship for five years.

A witness told police that he heard DeGroat and Frank arguing that evening, and it escalated into a physical fight, KSTP reports. The witness allegedly asked Frank’s adult child to help.

According to the criminal complaint, the witness said when he and Frank’s son returned, they found DeGroat with the stab wound and saw that Frank had fled.

During transit to the jail, Frank allegedly made multiple statements, including, “I stabbed his a–” and “I would kill him again.”

Frank reportedly told authorities she had been staying at her son’s house, and her ex-boyfriend came over and knocked on the windows. KSTP reports that Frank admitted she retrieved a knife from the kitchen, stabbed DeGroat once in the chest, and fled to her neighbor’s backyard. She reportedly came back to speak with investigators.

Police recovered a knife near the scene and obtained surveillance video evidence that revealed Frank shouting at DeGroat and DeGroat yelling for someone to call 911.

Frank remains held in the Clay County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
