  • Judicial Watch: FBI Refuses to Release Trump Assassination Records

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) withheld information on a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for information about its coordination with the U.S. Secret Service regarding the July 13 Butler, PA, rally at which former President Trump was shot.

In denying Judicial Watch’s FOIA request, the FBI cites FOIA exemption 7(A), which applies to information that “would deprive a person of a right to a fair trial or an impartial adjudication.”

The Judicial Watch FOIA request on July 26 asked for:

All records of the FBI, including emails, email chains, email attachments, text messages, video or audio recordings, photographs, drawings, outlook calendars, meeting minutes, finished intelligence products, bulletins, raw intelligence, threat products, correspondence, statements, letters, memoranda, reports, briefings, presentations, notes, summaries, or other form of record, regarding preparation and coordination with the USSS for former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign rally that was held in Butler, PA, on July 13, 2024.  Please provide records from June 15, 2024, to present.

Judicial Watch is pursuing the next steps in preparation for litigation.

“Were there others involved in the assassination attempt on Trump? If not, then why would the FBI use the excuse of protecting someone’s right to a fair trial to hide records on the FBI’s and Secret Service’s inexcusable failures to protect Trump from being nearly assassinated,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “The Biden-Harris administration is running a major league cover-up on the near assassination of former President Trump.”

The Secret Service also recently refused to honor FOIA requests for information on the shooting.

Judicial Watch has over 25 FOIA and open records requests currently pending on the shooting of Trump with the Biden administration, local and state officials, and agencies in Pennsylvania.

In July 2024, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security for records relating to an incident at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland in which a Secret Service agent assigned to protect Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly got into a scuffle with colleagues.

In June 2024, Judicial Watch received 116 pages of United States Secret Service records from the Department of Homeland Security through the Freedom of Information Act that reveal the details about several incidents in which Secret Service personnel were bitten by President Biden’s dog Commander, sometimes requiring medical attention.

In October 2022, Judicial Watch sued the Department of Homeland Security for all communications of the U.S. Secret Service internally and with the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding the raid on President Trump’s home and for any video or audio recordings made during the raid on August 8, 2022.

  • Fire breaks out at nuclear plant after Ukrainian attack – governor (VIDEO) | The Liberty Beacon

ER Editor: At this point, we’re leery of who is allegedly doing what to whom. We’re assuming there is a fire.

A geography reminder. We cannot fathom why the Zaporozhye nuclear plant is considered to be in ‘Europe’. It’s clearly not.

Fire breaks out at nuclear plant after Ukrainian attack – governor (VIDEO)

The Zaporozhye facility has been put into cold shutdown as a precaution while emergency workers fight the blaze

    RT

The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the largest such facility in Europe, has caught fire after being shelled by Ukrainian forces, the governor of Russia’s Zaporozhye Region, Evgeny Balitsky, announced on Sunday. The blaze is under control, the official added.

The fire, which affected the plant’s cooling systems, broke out following a Ukrainian attack on the nearby city of Energodar on Sunday, Balitsky said in a statement. The plant’s six reactors were placed in a state of “cold shutdown” as a precaution, the governor explained, adding that there is “no threat of a steam explosion or other consequences.”

“Emergency workers are working at the scene of the fire, and the sources of ignition have begun being eliminated,” Balitsky said.

According to the governor, radiation levels around the plant are normal and “there is no threat” to people nearby.

The Zaporozhye NPP was seized by Russian forces in 2022, four days into Moscow’s military operation. Six months later, the region of Zaporozhye voted to join the Russian Federation in a referendum. Throughout the first year of the conflict, Russian forces foiled repeated Ukrainian attempts to attack the station – which sits on the Dnieper River – with landing craft and drones.

Kamikaze drones were used in Sunday’s attack, the facility’s communications director, Evgeniya Yashina, said in a statement. According to Yashina, the attack marked the first time that Ukrainian forces were able to seriously damage the plant’s infrastructure.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the shelling of the plant as a “terrorist” act and called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to perform “at least some imitation of work” to ensure the plant’s security.

“The terrorists in Kiev, under the leadership of the collective West, destroyed their country, ruined the people of Ukraine, undermined global energy and food security, and now they have begun the nuclear terror of the continent,” she said.

The IAEA maintains an observer mission at the ZNPP and has condemned the repeated strikes against the plant. However, the UN agency refuses to attribute blame for these attacks, claiming that it does not have “indisputable evidence” of Kiev’s culpability. In a presentation to the UN General Assembly last month, Russia’s deputy representative to the organization, Dmitry Polyansky, displayed wreckage of a Ukrainian drone that hit the facility, accusing Kiev of posing “the only real threat to nuclear facilities in Ukraine today.”

  • Minimum Wages Wreak Labor Havoc | The Liberty Beacon

    By: David Hebert

The federal minimum wage was last raised fifteen years ago this month. Vice President Harris has been on record supporting raising this to $15 per hour, co-sponsoring a proposed bill for doing so with Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2019. Today, lawmakers in Arizona, Alaska, and Oklahoma, not to mention plenty of municipalities throughout all fifty states, are considering raising the minimum wage of their respective areas.

Progressives will tell you that the passage of such laws will help workers in their uneven struggle with the bosses. Others insist that this will also pump more money into the economy.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Let’s consider the recent experience of California. It raised the minimum wage of restaurant workers from $16 to $20 per hour. In just the first two months after the law took effect, 10,000 jobs were destroyed and prices at restaurants have risen.

In 2019, lawmakers in New York City passed a nearly identical piece of legislation. They increased the minimum wage from $13 to $15 per hour (equivalent to $18.72 today). The result was eerily similar. 90 percent of restaurants surveyed had raised prices, nearly 77 percent reduced employee hours, and 36 percent eliminated jobs. As then-president of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, Thomas Grech, pointed out, “[small businesses are] cutting their staff. They’re cutting their hours. They’re shutting down.”

None of this is difficult to understand.

Our everyday experiences tell us exactly what happens when the price of anything rises. When egg prices soared earlier this year, for example, consumers responded by purchasing fewer eggs. Likewise, when gasoline prices rise, US drivers reconsider travel plans. Some don’t travel at all.

When prices rise, people find substitutes to further reduce their purchasing of the now more expensive items. California, for instance, has the nation’s highest gasoline prices. That’s one reason why California has led the nation in electric car sales, which do not run on expensive gasoline.

Employers respond similarly. When workers become more expensive, employers seek to automate. In 2022, the Government Accountability Office reported that “Workers with lower levels of education and who perform routine tasks — think cashiers or file clerks — face the greatest risks of their jobs being automated.” Increasing the minimum wage will only make this more likely.

What minimum wage advocates won’t acknowledge – at least openly – is that wages are a price, specifically the price of labor. By proposing minimum wage increases, lawmakers around the country are effectively telling employers, “We want you to hire fewer workers.” Yet, when employers respond to this implicit edict by laying people off, blame is shifted to a myriad of superfluous explanations, none of which address the cluster of closures around the dates that minimum wage legislation takes place.

The simple fact is that when the price of anything increases, people respond by purchasing less. With minimum wage legislation, reduced employment is concentrated on the very people who are supposed to be the beneficiaries. Instead of raising wages by decree, lawmakers should put the horse before the cart and focus on increasing worker productivity which will in turn earn them higher wages.

This effect is so obvious that lawmakers use it to impact policy. Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia proposed a 1,000 percent tax on assault weapons. In his own words, this was proposed to “inhibit and restrict sales [of assault weapons].”

Special, additional taxes have also been levied on sugary drinks, alcohol, and tobacco. In each case, the goal is to raise the prices of these items to curtail their consumption in the name of public health and safety.

Clearly, people understand that when the price of something rises, we purchase less of it. Similarly, lawmakers understand that if they want people to buy less of something, they can use policy to make it more expensive.

Given the disastrous effects of such policies, why then do bureaucrats continue to propose them? Perhaps lawmakers are so divorced from reality as to not see what is happening all around the country. More likely, they arrogantly believe that this time will be different; that their version of a minimum wage will work where every other has failed. Unfortunately, this is what every previous lawmaker believed, too. Just like them, today’s lawmakers will find that the laws of economics are as immutable as the law of gravity.

Lawmakers playing around with the price system do more harm than good and history is rife with examples demonstrating this. It is time for bumbling bureaucrats to cease their would-be machinations and allow private citizens to find ways to serve one another more effectively.

  • Last Yr’s Pentagon Leaks Proved Zelensky Was Plotting To Invade Russia Since January 2023 | The Liberty Beacon

Last Yr’s Pentagon Leaks Proved Zelensky Was Plotting To Invade Russia Since January 2023

Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk Region should finally incentivize Russia to eliminate groupthink.

    Andrew Korybko writes on Substack…

So much has happened since spring 2023’s Pentagon leaks that few even remember that they happened, but they’re more relevant than ever amidst Ukraine’s ongoing invasion of Russia’s Kursk Region since they proved that Zelensky had been plotting this since January 2023. The Washington Post reported on this aspect of those leaks in May 2023, writing that the US was already aware by then that Zelensky thought that this move would “give Kyiv leverage in talks with Moscow.”

This wasn’t lost on the Russians either since RT promptly published an article about it, which was analyzed here at the time, thus raising questions about why there weren’t better border defenses in place just in case. These reports circulated right before Ukraine’s ultimately failed counteroffensive, so it’s possible that the border was fortified as a precaution ahead of that happening, but then Russia grew complacent with its on-the-ground gains in Donbass over the past year and let its guard down.

About that, this analysis here from last week pointed out that Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk Region should incentivize Russia to finally eliminate groupthink. It’s difficult to believe that there were no reports whatsoever about a build-up along the border ahead of time, thus meaning that higher-ups might have dismissed whatever they were speculatively told by their underlings as “irrational”. Therein lies the problem since Ukraine always ends up surprising Russia but relevant lessons have yet to be learned.

Whether it’s long-range drone strikes against its strategic airfields, early warning systems, and even the Kremlin or naval drone attacks against its Black Sea fleet, all of which are aided by the Anglo-American Axis, Russia should have expected by now that every one of its soft spots is a likely target. Nevertheless, it’s regularly caught with its pants down, though folks also shouldn’t forget that it still intercepts a lot of drones and foils many impending plots too.

With that being said, more could have been done to protect the border from the invasion that Zelensky had been plotting for a year and a half. Prior to the latest events, he employed terrorist proxies for cross-border raids into Belgorod Region, which might have deceived Russia into thinking that Ukraine abandoned its plans for a conventional invasion. That could explain why the only forces that it deployed along the border were counter-sabotage units who were unprepared to fend off a real invasion.

Such a decision still represents a lapse in judgement, however, when recalling that Ukrainian military-intelligence chief Budanov drew attention to Kursk Region in mid-May shortly after the start of Russia’s push into his country’s Kharkov Region. He said at the time that “they are holding a small group of forces in the border area, in the town of Sudzha. From our side, it is the Sumy direction, but the situation has not yet allowed them to take active action and start, let’s say, implementing their plan.”

As it turns out, Russia never reinforced its “small group of forces in the border area”, thus explaining why Ukraine was able to breach the border and is now fighting for control for Sudzha. Russia might have dismissed the forces that Ukraine assembled in preparation of this as an overreaction to Budanov’s aforementioned fear of a push into Sumy Region. If anything, some Russian policymakers might have even been pleased to see them, thinking that it’s better for them to be deployed there than to Donbass.

Simply put, Ukraine not only “psyched-out” Russia, but it masterfully manipulated its perceptions after realizing long ago (or being told by the Anglo-American Axis) how strongly it’s affected by groupthink. Time and again, a little creative thinking on Russia’s part would have made all the difference in thwarting Ukraine’s myriad plots, yet outdated mindsets continue to prevail in spite of all that’s happened.

That needs to change, and urgently, in order for the special operation to succeed in its goals.
