  • Everything You Need to Know About ChatGPT – The US Times

ChatGPT, an advanced AI bot developed by OpenAI, is capable of performing various tasks, such as generating content, conversing with humans, or suggesting edits to coding code. It uses a large training dataset that includes social media, articles and books as well as websites and blogs. It also uses transformers to identify long-range patterns within data sequences. ChatGPT, although it offers many benefits, has also been found to be inaccurate, biased and prone to hallucinations. The sources used to train ChatGPT are not fact checked.

ChatGPT is used in many professional fields to complete tasks faster and more efficiently. ChatGPT has been used by doctors to test the accuracy of the diagnostics. Legal professionals have also used it to answer legal questions, make decisions about court rulings, and experiment with the development of wills and testaments. The chatbot has also been used by students to complete their homework and write essays.

ChatGPT is easy to use, even though its features may at first intimidate or scare some users. Sign up for an OpenAI Account, accept the Terms of Use, and then start asking questions to use ChatGPT. It is important to keep in mind that ChatGPT, a generative AI, is still in its early stages and not yet a trusted source. It has the potential of spreading misinformation or infringing on intellectual property.

  • Will Trump End Elections? Anatomy Of A Failed Hoax | The Liberty Beacon

Apparently Saul Alinsky has been resurrected and is working as the chief propaganda coordinator for the Kamala Harris presidential campaign.

Alinsky was a 1960s radical who helped shape the strategy for a leftist takeover of the bulwark institutions that for two centuries had protected the American republic from opportunistic would-be dictators.

Alinsky’s goal was to create a guidebook for how leftist radicals could wrest America’s domestic and foreign policy away from conservatives, moderates, and traditional liberals. His 1971 blueprint was called “Rules for Radicals,” and it instructed left-wing activists how to gain power in their communities through a campaign of character assassination, manipulation, and ruthless persistence.

    Shaleah Craighead , Wikimedia Commons

Those three characteristics have been in plain view for the last two weeks as Harris and her surrogates have unleashed a series of attacks on Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance.

In particular, Harris and the left-wing media have adopted two of Alinsky’s rules in order to try to destroy the public image of Trump and Vance. The first is: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” The second rule is “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Both of those can be seen in the push to label Trump and Vance as “weird,” an insult employed by Harris’ running mate Tim Walz when he was auditioning for the job. There is absolutely no response to that insult except to say, “I’m not weird; you are,” and that’s the tactic Trump’s team employed, but it was hopeless. The Democrats picked the target, froze it, and personalized it. Alinsky was right. You can’t counterattack ridicule.

So the best you can hope for is to expose the attack as itself being ridiculous. Vance has tried to do that by pointing out that Walz’s policies such as putting tampons in elementary school boys bathrooms are what’s weird. It might have been an effective counter-tactic when this country had a media that wasn’t thoroughly partisan. But a press corps thrilled to join in regurgitating Democratic Party talking points doesn’t care how weird it is that Tampon Tim can’t tell the difference between boys and girls.

The good news is that Donald Trump is very familiar with the Democrats’ tactic of character assassination. For the past nine years he has been subjected to endless false attacks that aimed to polarize him as first a Russian stooge, then a white supremacist, and finally an enemy of democracy who threatened a “bloodbath” if he wasn’t reelected in 2024. Those attacks have all been exposed as partisan chicanery, but that doesn’t stop his opponents from repeating them every chance they get.

Two weeks ago, Democrats and the mainstream media were caught red-handed as they tried to jump-start a new hoax that suggested Trump would cancel future elections if he were elected this year.

The video that played on Sunday morning shows and across the universe of cable news channels for three days at the end of July came from a speech that Trump delivered to the Turning Point Action Believers Summit on Friday, July 26. This clip from CNN typified the way Trump’s words were portrayed, with one commentator saying that “it certainly sounds like a presidential candidate that is determined to shut down the democratic process.”

CBS News reached the same conclusion, saying that on social media there were “some calls of alarm in response to Trump’s comments, expressing concern that they alluded to authoritarianism and could be interpreted as an indication that he would not leave office if he wins the election.”

That’s ridiculous, of course, and if there should be any concern about Trump’s words, it would be about how nonchalantly the media distorted them for the purpose of character assassination.

The part of Trump’s speech that was played or quoted ad infinitum by mainstream media for those three days was this:

“Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote any more, my beautiful Christians … In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.”

Twisting those words to suggest Trump was planning “to shut down the democratic process” is just cynical. But if anyone were sincerely alarmed, you’d think that their next step would be to listen to the entire speech where these words were uttered to find out if there was any missing context.

A real journalist would look for answers before running with a hugely damaging and potentially slanderous story. But this episode demonstrates conclusively that there are very few real journalists left in America.

I knew the real meaning of Trump’s words because I had watched the speech live on a streaming channel, but how much work would it take for a highly paid network reporter or anchor to look at the Believers speech after the fact before accusing the former president of plotting to eliminate elections?

If they had, they would have found that, a little over 37 minutes into his speech, Trump explained to his audience that Christians vote in disappointingly low numbers, and if they wanted him to return to the White House, they needed to go out and vote “at least this election.”

Here’s the full quote that I don’t believe was ever played, not once, by any major media outlet:

And by the way, Christians have to vote. You know, I don’t want to scold you, but do you know Christians do not vote proportionately, they don’t vote like they should. They’re not big voters … They have to vote. If they don’t vote, we’re not going to win the election. If you do vote, we’re going to win in a landslide. Too big to rig. We’re gonna win in a landslide. … You know, you have tremendous power, but you just don’t know that. But you have to use that power. Christians are a group that’s known not to vote very much. You have to go out at least this election, just get us into that beautiful White House. Vote for your congressmen and women. Vote for your senators. We will change this country for the better. This country will be great again like never before. You gotta vote. … This election will be the most important election in the history of our country. We’re going to save our country with this election.

Who knows how much damage the reporting of CNN, CBS, ABC and NBC did to Trump while the “Canceled Elections Hoax” played out from that Friday until Tuesday of the following week? And I don’t expect that we have heard the last of this hoax, any more than we have heard the last of the “Very Fine People Hoax” after seven years.

But there was a sudden and definitive end to the use of the misleading clip on TV news outlets starting that Monday night, July 29. That’s because Laura Ingraham aired an interview with Trump on Fox News where she asked him specifically what he meant by saying that Christians wouldn’t have to vote again in four years.

Trump repeated to Ingraham exactly what he had said in his speech – that Christians tend not to vote in as high numbers as other interest groups – but even Ingraham had a hard time grasping the idea. Certainly she had never watched the video of the entire speech, and apparently neither did anyone on her staff, because she truly seemed to be unsure why Trump had said that he wanted Christians to “vote, just this time.” Even after Trump explained, she still wanted him to reassure her that he didn’t plan to cancel future elections.

To be clear, Ingraham is a lawyer by training, not a journalist. Even so, she shamed the real journalists by at least asking the target of the smear to explain himself. But that wouldn’t have even been necessary if anyone in the media had bothered to listen to the Believers speech in the first place.

And even after the Ingraham interview, there were several news articles that simply refused to comprehend Trump’s explanation. The New York Times characterized the interview as Trump declining “to back away from [the] ‘You don’t have to vote again’ line” and saying that he “brushed aside multiple requests to walk back or clarify the statement.”

Wrong. Actually, the New York Times declined to accept Trump’s explanation and tried unsuccessfully to keep the hoax alive. But as we see every day, the real hoax is journalists pretending to be fair and impartial when, in fact, they are just tools of the radical left who have one goal in mind: Target Trump.

    Saul Alinsky would be proud.

  • Oregon man sentenced for killing woman in stabbing spree while high on meth

BEAVERTON, Ore. (TCN) — A man recently pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in 2019 and stabbing several people in a crime spree, including one fatally, while high on methamphetamine.

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office announced that Salvador Antonio Martinez-Romero pleaded guilty on Aug. 7 to first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and four counts of first-degree robbery. A judge sentenced Martinez-Romero on Aug. 13 to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years for murder and nine years for the other convictions.

On December 18, 2019, while under the influence of methamphetamine, Martinez-Romero reportedly bought a large chef’s knife at a grocery store. Prosecutors said he then entered a bank nearby, “pulled out the knife, and demanded tellers give him cash.”

According to the district attorney’s office, one victim, Janet Risch, was there to get cash as Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. Martinez-Romero reportedly grabbed Risch’s adult daughter, Deb Thompson, from behind when he didn’t get the money quickly enough and reportedly cut her throat.

Tellers reportedly gave Martinez-Romero cash. Prosecutors said he then fatally stabbed Risch in the back. Risch’s daughter and bank tellers attempted lifesaving measures, but Risch died from her injuries. Thompson survived the attack, but authorities said she was “left permanently injured.”

As Martinez-Romero fled the scene, he reportedly approached a third victim to steal his car. The victim tried to stop the theft and Martinez-Romero stabbed the man in the chest, causing critical injuries, the district attorney’s office said.

The defendant drove the stolen car to a residential area in Tigard, Oregon, where he abandoned the vehicle. A fourth victim reportedly stopped her car by the vehicle and Martinez-Romero stabbed her in the leg and torso. Prosecutors said he then stole her car.

Police pursued Martinez-Romero, and he eventually left the car and fled on foot. Officials found him near a high school, took him into custody, and discovered “large amounts of cash stuffed down his pants and hidden under a nearby pile of leaves.”

  • Fact Check: No, Kamala Harris did not insult Barron Trump’s 17-year-old friend on X

Former President Donald Trump’s 18 year-old-son, Barron Trump, and his friend, 17-year-old Bo Loudon, have been reportedly helping the former president with his social media strategy.

But Vice President Kamala Harris did not demand Loudon’s banning from social media for wearing a “Biden Loves Minors” shirt, as social media users have claimed.

An Instagram user posted a screenshot purportedly from Harris’s X account, with an image of Loudon wearing a T-shirt mocking President Joe Biden while standing with Donald Trump Jr., Trump’s older son.

“Wow. Barron Trump’s ignant 17 year old MAGA Republican friend @BoLoudon is disgusting,” text on the alleged post reads, using shorthand for “ignorant.” “He wears a “Biden Loves Minors” shirt that mocks BLM – pure racism! I want him banned. Do NOT follow him!”

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

The photo of Loudon and Trump Jr. was first posted on Loudon’s Instagram account in 2022, but it doesn’t appear on either of Harris’s official X accounts. There have also been no media reports of Harris reposting the picture.

Harris has not deleted any posts on her X account in the past 30 days, data collected by Social Blade, a social media analytics website, showed.

A Harris spokesperson declined to comment on whether the post was authentic, but a Harris spokesperson told USA Today that Harris did not repost the image of Loudon.

We rate the claim that Harris posted about banning Barron Trump’s friend from X because he wore a “Biden Loves Minors” shirt False.

  • Kamala Harris’s Competency Makeover: Magic Or Media Manipulation? | The Liberty Beacon

Kamala Harris’s Competency Makeover: Magic Or Media Manipulation?

    American Greatness

Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent transformation from second fiddle to president Biden into a competent “joyful warrior” for the Democratic Party is a classic example of big media and big tech creating reality.

But how much of the glowing headlines, inclusive puff pieces and fawning coverage is rooted in reality and how much of it is simply talking points downloaded from the Democratic National Committee?

While it’s no secret that mainstream media have been openly aligned against Donald Trump since before he was elected president in 2016, the pro-Harris narrative-building is becoming too obvious to ignore.

The same media sources that insisted that Joe Biden was strong, forceful and competent, prior to his June 27 debate with Donald Trump, have turned on a dime and put their full-throated support behind Harris, even though she refuses to take meet with or take questions from the press.

Here are nine minutes of Harris without a teleprompter to keep her on script. It’s not surprising that Kamala is keeping her distance from unscripted interviews.

Poll after poll is reported to show Harris gaining support in key battleground states, they claim that she is now favored on “key issues” yet she has published no positions or plans of her own on her campaign website.

Meanwhile, Harris is gracing the cover of Time Magazine while legacy media big tech continue to downplay and throttle information regarding the July 13 assassination attempt against former president Trump in Butler, Ohio.

We know almost nothing about the shooter’s motives, his politics and whether he was truly acting on his own.

The narrative that mainstream media is running with is all about selling us a candidate who is likely to be installed as the Democratic nominee without having won any of her party’s primaries prior to the upcoming convention.

That’s a neat trick for a group that’s allegedly so concerned about “saving our democracy.”

Here’s one more example of how open the narrative management is becoming.

If big media will spin the exact same idea favorably for Harris but put a negative slant on it for Trump, can they be trusted to tell the truth about those who would rig elections?

  • Remains of Fla. mom and 3-year-old daughter found in canal 50 years after they went missing

PLANTATION, Fla. (TCN) — The 50-year-long search for a mother and her young child ended this week when officials discovered a car with human remains and other personal belongings at the bottom of a canal.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, 34-year-old Doris Wurst and her 3-year-old daughter, Caren Wurst, were last seen on Nov. 7, 1974, and had likely been traveling in a red 1961 Chevrolet Impala. They lived at the Sunshine City Trailer Park, which no longer exists. Plantation Police said the case went cold the next year and remained that way despite the investigation being reopened in 1977, 1988, 1992, 1994, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2018.

Plantation Police worked with Sunshine State Sonar, a volunteer search and recovery team, in June 2023 to search for Doris and Caren Wurst. On Aug. 10, Sunshine State Sonar divers discovered a vehicle, which turned out to be a 1960s Chevy Impala, in a canal on West Broward Boulevard. Human remains consistent with an adult and child were also found in the vehicle.

Sunshine State Solar said in a news release that clues “point to a tragic motor vehicle accident into the canal.”

Officials still need to positively identify the remains.

Sunshine State Solar shared several photos of their discovery, including ones of the car being lifted out of the water and personal effects from the vehicle. Items included clothing, shoes, a watch, saxophone, and toys. The car looked as if it was melted or burned in the front and back.

One of the divers, Michael Sullivan, told WTVJ-TV he found what “looked like a purse or little briefcase.” When he got back up above water, he saw it was a child’s toy. He said, “Me and my brother just looked at each other and it was a pretty emotional moment because, to us, it was Caren. It was Caren saying, ‘I’m here, you got me.’”

  • ‘The Godfather of A.I.’ Warns of Danger Ahead – The US Times

Geoffrey Hinton is a pioneer in artificial intelligence. He has joined the growing chorus of critics who warn of the dangers associated with creating products that are based on generative AI (GAI). Hinton’s work was the basis for many of the AI systems used by the biggest companies in the industry. He believes that GAI’s aggressive pursuit could lead to the release of something harmful, which has the potential of misinforming, endangering jobs, or even putting humanity at risk. Hinton, who had been working at Google for more than a decade to speak freely about AI dangers, recently left his job.

Hinton, whose former students and colleagues believe that AI poses no real risks, is concerned about the possibility that GAI can learn unanticipated behaviors from large amounts of data. He warns this will become an issue when individuals and businesses allow GAI systems not only to generate their own code, but also run it on their own. He is also concerned that this technology could lead towards the creation of “killer robots” or autonomous weapons. Such weapons could be a danger to humanity, and lead to an arms race around the world that would not end without global regulation.

Many insiders in the industry believe that GAI can be used to spread misinformation, and even pose a risk to job security. Tech leaders believe, however, that new AI systems can lead to breakthroughs for drug research and educational purposes. Google, for example, is constantly learning about new risks and experimenting with AI. Hinton called for the technology to be scaled down until scientists understand how to control it. However, many experts believe that GAI poses no real risks.
