  • US Living Standards In Grave Danger | The Liberty Beacon

Based on the data release we have, the “cooling” is actually up from June to July, if you can believe it.

(Data: Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), St. Louis Fed; Chart: Jeffrey A. Tucker)

Most of the change is driven by housing but the CPI is far from capturing the whole. By using a black-box statistic called Owners Equivalent Rent, the CPI is able to completely bypass and not report data we actually have on housing prices. And that’s just the start of the problems we’ve discussed many times. Even so, the CPI still reveals something. Even then, we keep being told life is better than ever.

We know it is not true. Everyone to whom you speak knows the financial and economic strains of our time. They are grave and growing, and most data points are now underscoring the point. The jobs market even in hourly employment is freezing up, while inflation continues to take its toll. It is well known, finally, that we have lost far more than 20 percent of our purchasing power over four years. How much is still largely a guess based on spending patterns.

The distance between the official data—which still shows rising real output—and the consumer surveys is striking to behold. In some ways, the official economic data of our times is another iteration of the growing sense that we are not being told the whole truth in many sectors of life.

However, there are still times when the truth seeps out. CNN commissioned a well-constructed poll of about 2,000 random people to find out where they stand on personal finances. The headline number: nearly 40 percent of Americans are struggling to pay their bills. That is up from 28 percent from only three years ago, and a higher number than back in 2008–09, the period known as the Great Recession.

Two-thirds of people say that the number one issue they face is the cost of living and paying their bills. The typical American is spending nearly $1,000 more per month compared with three years ago just to pay living expenses. That is according to Moody’s, but it also fits with the intuition we all have. It suggests a dramatic decline in real household income, despite what the Bureau of Labor Statistics claims.

The survey further reports that a third of Americans say that they have to take an additional job to make ends meet. This has disproportionately affected Latinos and black Americans and those under the age of 45.

Nearly 70 percent report that they have cut back spending on entertainment, changed their grocery buying, and otherwise stopped with the extras like vacations and trips. Three in five say they have cut back on driving. Two-thirds are putting bills on revolving credit cards charging more than 20 percent. These trends show no change despite the seeming taming of inflation.

Inflation has been raging for years, but it is easy to slip into denial or believe that the price increases are going to reverse themselves. This was certainly the case from mid-2021 and following, as people were told that the price trend was transitory, a word that sounds a bit like temporary. Many people believed it and tried their best not to change their spending and lifestyle habits.

Three years in and the hard realities of accounting are hitting nearly everyone. The effect of this is cascading through every sector as spending on extras is culled across the board.

I was speaking to a journalist for a New England local paper that had always been supported by advertisers, including arts venues. But following lockdowns, arts institutions never really came back. Traffic at major museums is half what it was, and philanthropy is down as well. That leaves less in the budget for advertising.

As a result, this newspaper has experienced a growing financial crisis, and everyone is now aware of how it ends. The paper will go out of business, eliminating many dozens of paid positions. These people will face a very hard job market with ever fewer numbers of open positions.

(Data: Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), St. Louis Fed; Chart: Jeffrey A. Tucker)

Many large companies are posting dreary sales outlooks, including Starbucks, Home Depot, and McDonald’s, as consumers are increasingly tapped out. There is a great deal of fear and uncertainty extant among consumers and producers alike. It’s been a rude awakening.

Consumer sentiment has never recovered its January 2020 highs, and instead has fallen by a third.

(Data: Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), St. Louis Fed; Chart: Jeffrey A. Tucker)

For the better part of 45 years in this country, we’ve mostly experienced what we can call good and prosperous times with some bumps along the way. The trouble traces to the way government policy has handled these bumps. They have been addressed by adding ever more liquidity to the system, rescuing the macroeconomic environment from too much damage by virtue of credit expansion.

Gone were the days of 1982 when recessions were tolerated as a means of cleansing the system and preparing for a robust recovery. Instead, monetary magic would be deployed to abolish the business cycle forever.

Prior to 2020’s inflationary bonanza, this was never more aggressive than in 2008 when the Federal Reserve decided to enter the markets and buy up failing mortgage securities, keeping them in the vaults of the Fed, while recapitalizing the banks. The Fed then slammed interest rates to zero while paying more than the free market for interest to hold bank deposits.

This seemed like a solution, but the decision caused the underlying conditions to worsen, extending the housing bubble to become a corporate and financial bubble too. This is the whole in which an entire generation came of age. Payrolls ballooned and so did salaries as cheap money seemed to be everywhere without a limit. Year after year went by with the underlying decay in capital structures taking place but without much public awareness.

The Federal Reserve’s balance sheet now looks completely preposterous, and this is added to the broadest measure of money called the monetary base. This is not hot money on the street, but rather the valuation of all monetary instruments. It needs to be unraveled but no one knows how.

(Data: Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), St. Louis Fed; Chart: Jeffrey A. Tucker)

The Fed’s options to deal with a cascading crisis are severely limited. Oddly, the United States finds itself in a position similar to Japan about a decade ago. Japan could not raise its rates for fear of unraveling the world’s most popular “carry trade” that encouraged borrowing low and earning high, but note that this was a source of the global financial instability in the first week of August. That problem was plugged once again with an assurance of more liquidity.

We just cannot continue to “solve” problems this way, as the inflation of the last three years has shown. It does seem relatively tame for now but the future could involve yet another wave as central banks once again come to the rescue of economies falling into recession.

At some point, we will need to recapture the old wisdom that economic downturns serve a function. They cleanse capital markets. They encourage consumers to cut back on debt and save more if possible. Unviable and bloated corporate projects are winnowed down to size. The entire nation and globe experience what used to be called austerity.

That is our future one way or another. People have long awaited a big crisis but we might be looking for the wrong thing. The real crisis will be slow and grinding, and unreported until it is too late.

  • Exclusive Interview with Keisha Richards – The US Times

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Richards.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

To understand Keisha the entrepreneur, you have to look down the lenses of my background. I was born to parents who were business owners, years before I was born my father owned a barbershop, at the time that was his source of income. As my sister and I were born he realize he needed to increase his income so he got a job in addition to his barbering. This new job taught him a new skill and he had figured out how to use those skills to create another revenue stream. By the time I was 15 years old between my older brother and my mom and dad our family was operating between 5-6 different thriving businesses with one being an export business. I explained I knew how to do ledger entries, reconcile a bank account and complete official documents before I ever looked at a college application. Fast forward years later I started my family and became a stay at home parent and the thoughts of business ownership took hold of my entire existence. Luckily for me my husband had entrepreneurial dreams of his own so it gave me not just the opportunity to explore my birthright but to take it down uncharted territories. Due to my family background, my studies while it focused on technology, I did a lot of studies in business so it was easy to explore since I had book knowledge with some practical experience and the passion.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I would have to say one of the biggest challenge I have had to overcome was “my mindset”. What I found out was if I could master the thoughts in my mind everything else was easier to handle. Everything we see around was first a thought that was created in someone’s mind before they could even create a plan to make it a reality. Where I struggled the most was convincing myself that I can actually accomplish this massive vision that I had seen. Each time I convinced myself I could and I started the journey I encountered disappointments after disappointments and each time I felt I was not the person for the job. Finally it made sense, the disappointments were a form of distraction I needed to conquer. When I got that in my mind there was a shift now when I face any form of disappointment I absorb it, I take a timeout and I get back at it. I let my positives outweigh my negative and that is how I’m finding success, it happens daily first in my mind then in my actions. Which is why I say success is a journey in all areas of life and we must work at it daily. Early on the journey I thought of quitting daily, did quit a few times, now I think of quitting then I tell myself “girl are you crazy, keep going” and all of that happen in a single thought. That’s success, fight for it

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Through my company Legacy Builders Academy, I specialize in a helping entrepreneurs and professionals improve their leadership and communication skills while providing business consultant training to aspiring, new and existing entrepreneurs on how to properly structure their business, write a business plan and effectively operate their business venture. What sets me apart from my competition is, I am teaching from my own life experiences I have been the person who didn’t have it together who struggled, doubted and overthink before really pursuing my dreams. I know too well the highs and the lows, the ups and downs, the blunders so what you get is a real person not a concept, an idea or something that was air fryer a few minutes ago. The ideas, how to, concepts maybe similar to what you read in a book but the heart of is you will find my own personal journey and transparency mixed with my heart of compassion to see them succeed. I can take them in my world and make that concept relatable, my honesty mixed with my level of passion to see them reach their destination is second to none.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Stop thinking of success as a status or a destination; Success must be seen as a multi layered life journey that comes with small wins that sets you up for bigger wins. Success is you getting up everyday and creating new positive habits to overcome negative habits, at first your negative habit will have the positive habit beaten but that is no reason to give, it’s why you keep going. Let’s take an alcoholic journey as an example, he/she doesn’t quit drinking at once, an alcoholic quits one drink at a time, each time they say no to a drink they are building their resistance, then it’s one day without a drink before you know it, it’s one week and they may slip and have one drink or a bad day but you don’t throw the progress away you simple go back to saying no. That’s how we say. “Josh kicked his drinking habit”, Josh did it daily and he has to keep saying “no” to be successful at it and that is why success is a journey and not a destination. And that principle can be applied to any thing we would like to do in life, begin a little at a time and before you know it will become you and you be successful at that thing or in that area of life.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success for me is being and remaining teachable in all areas of my life, being a student of life, while constantly improving what I did and the version of me you saw yesterday. The day I stop learning and improving is the day I begin to digress which means I am no longer successful. I never want to hear the words, “she was so successful in 2023” in reference to me. Each day I can inhale and exhale without the help of a machine I have a responsibility to do better than yesterday, not to maintain a status but to improve on myself and the immediate world around me. Success begins in my mind first, I see it in my mind then I create the action to accomplish what I envisioned.

    What’s next for you?

With the help Legacy Builder Academy I want to begin to expand my training and mentorship program to the next generation instead of only entrepreneurs and professionals on what it means to be a great leader and showing them how to redefine success beyond financial achievements and social status and recognition. That program launches Fall of 2023.

I am a strong believer of giving the next generation the proper tools as early as possible so they can slay the giants the previous generation couldn’t because of when the information and strategy was provided.

‘Disturbing fact’ emerges in Trump assassination probe

The FBI allowed the cremation of the alleged shooter’s body, a US Congress member has said

    RT-WORLD NEWS

The remains of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who tried to kill Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump last month, were released to his family for cremation in what appeared to be a cover-up, Congressman Clay Higgins has said.

Crooks was killed by the US Secret Service on July 13 after he opened fire on Trump during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He managed to injure Trump and two rally-goers, while killing a third.

Higgins is a Louisiana Republican with background in law enforcement, and a member of the congressional Task Force established to investigate the attempted assassination. He traveled to Butler earlier this month to examine the crime scene. His report on the trip was made public on Thursday.

“My effort to examine Crooks’ body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact,” Higgins wrote in the report. “The FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after J13. On J23, Crooks was gone. Nobody knew this until Monday, August 5, including the County Coroner, law enforcement, Sheriff, etc.”

Higgins noted that the county coroner “would have never released Crooks’ body to the family for cremation or burial without specific permission from the FBI.”

The coroner’s report and the autopsy report were not ready as of August 5, and without the body there was no way to verify their accuracy, Higgins noted. Such actions by the FBI “can only be described by any reasonable man as an obstruction to any following investigative effort,” he wrote.

Higgins was in Butler for three days and spent about 20 hours investigating the crime scene. According to his findings, Crooks fired eight shots from the roof of a building overlooking the fairgrounds where Trump spoke. The ninth shot came from a Butler SWAT operator and struck Crooks’ rifle, while the tenth shot from a Secret Service sniper killed him.

The FBI reportedly has the casings from the roof, but they “released the crime scene” after just three days and cleaned up the blood and other “biological evidence,” according to the report.

Crooks did not use a ladder to climb the roof, but an air conditioning unit. He somehow knew to take a position that minimized his exposure to Secret Service snipers, Higgins wrote, noting that it is not usual practice to assign counter-snipers to former presidents.

“I have not yet investigated Crooks’ origins, how he came to be a shooter, how he manufactured a remote trigger bomb, etc. I have not reviewed the harvested evidence, nor have I examined his home, his vehicle, spoken with his family, his neighbors, his classmates, examined his computer, his emails, or his closet,” Higgins wrote, vowing that he intends to do so.

  • Paul Lawrence Vann, Mr. Leader of Influence Empowers Leaders To Develop Other Leaders to Maximize Their Human Potential – The US Times

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Lawrence Vann.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

As the oldest son in a family of ten children born to two hard-working parents, I learned about side hustles at the age of ten. My parents designated me to work in the family community grocery store to help earn extra money for our family. When most children were playing sports and had after-school activities, I was stocking the shelves in Vann’s Grocery, waiting on customers, working the cash register, and receiving orders from the bread delivery company, milk, and sodas. Even though I did not have the title of a leader, I was leading the store at a young age as an intern. Fast forward, five years later it was off to play high school football and participate on the track team in Henderson, North Carolina. Again, I received a heavy dose of leadership from the football and track coach and I adapted to sports very fast. I was the first child to earn a high school diploma and I attended Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. I participated in the two-year Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program and two years later I graduated with a degree in business and accounting and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. I served over twenty years in the USAF in various leadership positions and retired and today I lead Wealth Building Academy, LLC, I provide leadership speeches and leadership development training to organizations to assist them in retaining their talent and increasing their bottom line.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

My first major challenge was securing funds to attend college. My parents were factory workers and with ten children they didn’t have any money to provide funds in support of my college education. I did what was necessary so I got a job at the recreation department in my hometown. I applied for grants and I received enough to get me through Shaw University. That’s not all I worked as an electrician assistant my first semester of college, then when the school year ended I applied to work part-time for United Parcel Service (UPS). I went back to my hometown and I worked in a factory for three weeks, and then UPS contacted me to work in Raleigh, North Carolina, and did so for over three years. Between my junior and senior year of college, I attended a six-week USAF summer encampment prior to joining the AFROTC program. The experience changed my life. I had never flown on a plane before attending basic training and the first plane I ever flew on was the C-5 Galaxy which is the length of a football field. Three weeks after my first flight, our USAF encampment was flown to Columbus, Mississippi and we experienced flight orientation and flew a USAF jet with an instructor pilot and it sealed the deal for me to join the AFROTC program. There were challenges in survival training, learning to march, waking up at five in the morning and more, overall it was a lot of fun.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I have always understood the importance of being a leader even without having the title of a leader, such as a president or executive vice president because employees and managers can also be leaders, just as a plant manager or CEO. I specialize in leadership because I am an expert having served over twenty years as a military officer in the USAF, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. I served over twelve consecutive years in the Pentagon in various leadership positions and I attended every leadership school the USAF offered. I have a diverse background, having served as a Capitol Hill Fellow, and assigned to work for a member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives, as a legislative assistant. Organizations should work with me because I have a vast amount of leadership experience and I know how to maximize the human potential of an organization through my leadership development workshops, coaching, digital courses, and book on leadership. As founder and President of Wealth Building Academy, LLC, my objective is to empower leaders to develop their entire staff and company with high-impact leadership development programs that will result in increasing their revenue. As an international speaker and two-time number-one international best-selling author, I deliver stellar business management consulting to provide organizations with a competitive advantage over the competition. My vast experience positions me to be an easy-to-work-with leadership expert. My brand is, “Leadership Is Influence,” A Three-Pronged Approach to Develop Other Leaders in The Organization.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best piece of advice for readers is for them to look inside themselves to find out what they really want to do to make a difference in life, and success will find them. Many of us attend college and major in a subject and discover it is not what we are passionate about, this leads to searching within, and over time, we discover what we really love to do and we cannot wait to wake up in the morning to get after it again. For example, I always wanted to work for a Fortune 500 company and after eight years of service in the USAF, I separated and Mobil Oil recruited me to work for them and I did so for two years. I enjoyed working for Mobil Chemical Company and two years later, I was working and an officer from the Pentagon called me and stated, we are recalling you to active duty and you will be working in the Pentagon. I learned a lot at Mobil and after returning to the USAF, I found my stride and I became a better officer as a result of my corporate experience and my career flourished and I discovered that my true passion was making a difference for the USAF, DoD, and the American people, I am a servant leader and I would not have known had I not separated and returned to the USAF. Success found me and it was a full-circle experience.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

To me, the word success means I have looked inside myself and I have answered the question of who am I and what mark I want to leave in the world. Success is different for everyone and for me it was all about dreaming big, I ensured my dreams scared me because success is aligned with dreams. My parents had a philosophy I followed growing up, it entailed going to the sanctuary every Sunday, doing good in school, and respecting myself and my elders, it is a wonderful trinity. I attended the sanctuary every Sunday and today my success is attributed to my personal relationship with God. I did my best in school, I was the first child to earn a high school diploma, then I earned a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. After entering the USAF, I earned a master of arts in business management, and a master of science in contracts and acquisition management. I have self-respect and I respect my elders, so when I look back on my upbringing, I followed my parent’s philosophy. Today, I have two children, one is a freshman in college and the other is in the tenth grade and yes, they follow the philosophy I inherited from my parents.

    What’s next for you?

I am going to continue marketing my speeches and leadership development programs to organizations because I know the challenges they are facing with top talent in the workforce continue to be of great concern. I will continue delivering in-person and virtual speeches, and leadership development workshops. I am creating digital leadership courses, diversity courses, and coaching, and I am on track to write three books this year to add to the three I have already written. My YouTube Podcast, Leadership Is Influence will continue to grow, along with Wealth Academy Podcast. I want to continue to be on the cutting edge of helping shape the new workforce, it is going to be dynamic and exciting and I want to ride the wave as it transforms. I look forward to working with corporations, organizations, associations, and military and government agencies to assist them in the post-pandemic workforce.

Trump To Be Surrounded By Bulletproof Glass At Outdoor Events

US Secret Service has begun storing the glass in locations around the country in order to prepare for Trump campaign events

    modernity

    Steve Watson

The Secret Service is to implement a raft of new security measures for upcoming outdoor rallies featuring President Trump, including surrounding him with bulletproof glass, according to a source.

The Washington Post reports that the USSS has begun storing the glass in locations around the country in order to prepare for Trump campaign events.

The source stated “Former presidents and candidates don’t normally get bulletproof glass or support from DoD [Department of Defense],” adding “This glass needs to be brought in on trucks and vans.”

The report further notes that acting USSS head Ronald Rowe has overseen the plans after convening with Trump’s team.

The report claims that Trump aides said he wants to do more outdoor rallies again, including a return to Butler PA where he was almost assassinated. However, he stated that he did not want to go on a stage outside again without the protective glass.

Previous presidents, including Trump himself have utilised the glass before.

Trump spoke about the assassination attempt again during a press conference at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club on Thursday afternoon.

A reporter asked him “You’ve spoken about God saving your life and I’m wondering, have you put much thought into why God saved your life? As in for what purpose has he been shielding and protecting you?”

“That was a miracle,” Trump responded, adding “It’s a miracle and God had something to do with it and maybe it’s – we want to save the world.”

  • Promoting energy transition as an incentive for achieving carbon neutrality – The US Times

Mustapha Ramalan is an advisor to the Director General of the National Agency for The Great Green Wall (NAGGW) Dr. Yusuf Maina-Bukar who marked his first year in office, having been appointed on April 4, 2022 by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari. Mustapha writes on the need for energy transition in Nigeria as a climate change strategy.

The increasing adverse impact of climate change in Nigeria has been well documented. Droughts, Flash floods, erosion, natural hazard and other disasters have occurred more rapidly in communities resulting in loss of means of livelihood, property, public infrastructure and farmland. In 2022 alone, more than dozens of human lives were lost as floods ravaged about two-thirds of the country.

Environmentally-insensitive human behaviours including pollution, improper waste disposal and deforestation are major contributory factors of climate change.

In Nigeria, high carbon emissions remain a major challenge as the country’s carbon level increased to 127 million tonnes in 2021, from 120 million in 2020, with burning of fossil fuels for domestic and manufacturing activities being a leading factor.

Transition from fossil to alternative cleaner energy sources ranks among the global trends the country can explore to deal with CO2 problem. Advancement in solar and electric or fueless cars and deployment of AI and robotics are innovations that many countries are leveraging to lower carbons.

Hence, the planned fuel subsidy removal policy by the Federal Government of Nigeria, effective June 2023, could serve as an incentive towards achieving carbon neutrality by the set global 2050 timeline, if well harnessed.

Nigeria is blessed with abundant sun that we can convert into affordable off grid electricity for homes and small businesses. Adapting to solar lighting systems will reduce usage of fossil fuel significantly and promote cleaner and a healthier ecosystem. It will improve quality of life and reduce hospitalization as less will people get sick.

Public-private partnerships can attract increased investment and development of the solar system. That means more jobs will be created, and more rural communities can open up for development. With jobs availability, rural-urban migration would reduce.

Since his resumption as Director General of the NAGGW, Dr. Yusuf Maina-Bukar has focused on giving full credence to the mandate of the Agency which is at the forefront of combating desertification and land degradation in Nigeria, in line with the United Nations Convention on Combating Desertification (UNCCD).

Dr Yusuf, who is an expert in Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Development is working to collaborate with factories in Nigeria that manufacture solar panels; and has already identified one of them in Borno State, North East Nigeria. His administration has developed proposals to build field stations in the Great Green Wall belt to carry out research in bid to scale up these capabilities with a plan to establish seed processing units and bio units to extract methane from cow dung as part of the energy transition plan for Nigeria.

The Director General firmly believes that lowering, and ultimately erasing Nigeria’s carbon footprints should be embraced by individuals, families, and corporate organisations in both the public and private sectors, while the efforts to minimize the effects of climate change on humanity and the ecosystem are pursued and implemented pragmatically by all stakeholders.

As part of the commitment to improving the livelihoods of communities affected by desertification, reducing apparent manifestation of poverty, and building the resilience of the people against the phenomena of climate change, the NAGGW under Dr. Yusuf has launched and implemented laudable initiatives to address the effects of climate change and transform the affected communities into an economic hub.

For instance, measures are in place to protect affected plantations and trees against indiscriminate burning and felling of trees. A proposal for an innovation called the water box has been endorsed by the Pan African Great Green Wall (PAGGW) Council of Ministers, and this proposal been presented to and granted approval by the Honourable Minister of Environment for implementation by the Nigeria Government. The water box innovation which is owned by Netherlands based Groassis will aide Nigerias planting activities to collect and keep water for a longer period of time (3-5 months) and crucially it can be used for up to 10 years, thereby ensuring a sustainable all-year round planting, further guaranteeing food security in the country and value for money.

All these steps being taken also affirm how government is committed to the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari, who as President of Heads of States and Governments of the Pan African Great Green Wall (PAGGW), is fully committed to the national wellbeing of protecting and conserving the African ecosystem.

It is also gratifying to note that Nigeria leads the PAGGW initiative and our strategic position as Africa’s most populous country and one of the largest economies on the continent, serves as a motivation for other countries to follow.

The last one year has been an incredible journey for the Director General and his team as each Agency outing has been impressive starting with COP15 held in Montreal Canada and COP27 which held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Relationships with the Agency’s strategic partners including UNCCD, UNEP etcetera are very cordial, and the Agency appreciates their partnership and look forward to their full support.

The National Agency for the Great Green Wall under the watch of Dr. Yusuf Maina-Bukar will continue to play a leading role in fulfilling the laudable vision of the African Union and its Heads of State and Governments, which informed the adoption and launch of the Great Green Wall in the Sahel and Sahara Initiative (GGWSSI), in 2007.

Dr. Yusuf Maina-Bukar holds a Ph.D from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, on “The Impact of the Emerging Climate Change Risks on Sustainable Urban Growth”; M.Sc. in “Advanced Sustainability of the Built Environment” from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom, and B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria.  He has vast knowledge in Climate Change Adaptation, Sustainable Urban Growth and Environmental Impact Assessment. Prior to his appointment as the DG/CEO of NAGGW, Dr. Yusuf was a Deputy Director at Desert Research, Monitoring and Control Centre at Yobe State University, where he coordinated the partnership that led to the establishment of Shelterbelts and Woodlots in Yobe State amongst other projects.

Dr. Yusuf has worked on numerous development projects targeted at adapting and mitigating the impacts of emerging climate change risks on diverse economic and growth activities. He has published/contributed scholarly resources and presented in various international conferences and workshops, and served as a panelist at national and international forums. A member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Dr. Yusuf has received professional trainings from the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in London, United Kingdom, amongst other reputable professional organisations.

Milwaukee Police Association endorses Trump and Vance

The association said that there are many policing challenges in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, such as low bail for dangerous criminals and a staffing crisis.

    By Charlotte Hazard

The Milwaukee Police Association on Friday announced its endorsement of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance.

“We like to say the Milwaukee Police Association is the ‘force behind the force,’” MPA President Alex Ayala said in a statement. “We use the words ‘honor’ and ‘service’ when we talk about the brave men and women of our department. Their importance extends far beyond the uniform and badge; it is about their commitment to serving and protecting us all.”

The association said that there are many policing challenges in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, such as low bail for dangerous criminals and a staffing crisis.

“The Milwaukee Police Association believes the solutions to these challenges are possible,” Ayala wrote. “That’s why we are endorsing the Presidential ticket of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.”

In 2020, Trump was endorsed by a major New York police union that had no regrets endorsing him despite his loss, according to Spectrum News.

“Addressing these issues isn’t political — it is truly a matter of life and death to Milwaukee,” Ayala said.
