  • A Rare Gem in Ministry, Administration, and Leadership – The US Times

Pastor Ubi Eno Onen was born on the 13th of May, 1985 to the family of Elder & Mrs. Matthew Onen of Lekpankom, Ikpakapit, Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State. He is the seventh child of nine children. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar, and he is at the verge of defending his Master of Arts (M.A) thesis from the same university. While at the university of Calabar, the charismatic Ubi Onen had a stint in leadership at different levels. For two sessions, in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 sessions, he represented the Faculty of Arts students in the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Parliament. Between 2006-2007 he served as the Sergeant-at-Arms of the SUG Parliament. In 2007 he emerged from a keenly contested election to become the President of the Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA). While serving as president, he pioneered the Faculty of Arts Christian Fellowship in 2007 that brought together both staff and students of the faculty for solemn assemblies. Pastor Onen has remained a rallying point and an inspirational force to young people who aspire for positions of leadership. He has mentored several and is still mentoring young people. During his National Youth Service year, he served as the Secretary of the Redeemed Christian Corpers Fellowship in Ado-Ekiti in 2009.

Two years after completing his National Youth Service in Ekiti State, Pastor Onen took up employment with the university of Calabar as the Editor-In-Chief of the University of Calabar Press between 2012-2014.This assignment he discharged creditably well, before he was redeployed to head a unit in the Bursar’s office, and later redeployed as Head of Administration in the Bursary department of the university of Calabar, where he works till date. Pastor Onen also served as the Editor-at-Large of Profiles and Biographies – a biographical and Public Relations firm in Cross River state. He at some point also deployed his editorial skills at the Partnerships Opportunities for Women Empowerment (POWER) as consulting Editor.

Pastor Onen is a member of some professional bodies among whom are: the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN), the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP) etc. In 2017, during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the creation of Cross River State, Pastor Onen was listed as one of the 50 Young People to Watch as Future Leaders in Cross River State. In 2019, Pastor Ubi Onen was honourably listed in Contemporary Who’s Who compendium in Cross River State as an eminent Cross Riverian who has distinguished himself in his career, and also in acknowledgement of his contributions to the development of the society. In 2021, Pastor Ubi Onen was honourably listed in a compendium Yatumanen Ba Kekur, translated as Eminent Leaders of Yakurr – the Local Government Area where he hails from, as an eminent son of the Local Government Area who has distinguished himself in his career and ministry as an outstanding clergyman. He is a recipient of several awards and recognitions from different youth organizations.

Pastor Onen is an ordained minister of God in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He was consecrated and appointed an Assistant Parish Pastor in RCCG New Covenant Assembly Area, one of the Area headquarter parish in Calabar in 2012. He served in this capacity from 2012-2014. From 2014-2022, he pastored one of the largest parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Cross River state as the Pastor-in-charge of Parish. RCCG Jesus Sanctuary located at 34 Atekong Drive, State Housing Estate, Calabar with a congregation of over 800 members in a single service, and it serves as the Provincial Headquarter parish of Cross River Province 2. Presently, Pastor Onen pastors One of the Area Headquarter parish of the Redeemed Christian church of God, (Life Sanctuary Area), located at N0 7 Etta Agbor Layout in the city of Calabar. A parish that has five other parishes under it. Since his assumption of duty at Life Sanctuary, several lives and souls have been transformed to the glory of God. The church hall is now too small for the surging number of parishioners who now troop in there. Pastor Onen is a spiritual father to many, both old and young, an aggressive church planter, a counsellor, a professional administrator, a seasoned preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a trendy pastor admired by many.

Pastor Ubi Onen will be celebrating the 11th anniversary of his marriage to his amazing wife- Mrs Margaret Ubi Onen (PhD) later this year. The marriage is blessed with three amazing children; a daughter and two boys. How this dynamic 38 years old trailblazer combines his circular job with ministry and yet administers these layers of responsibility almost effortlessly is a story for another day. With his like, the future of young people in Nigeria and Africa, and indeed the church in terms of
    leadership is far from bleak.

  • What Constitution? Kamala’s Attack on Patents is Pure Socialism | The Liberty Beacon

A video has emerged of Kamala during the 2019 campaign promising to fix drug prices and, failing that, to seize drug makers’ patents to lower drug prices. It is making the rounds now because she’s again demanding price controls in America. Kamala’s solution is typically tyrannical: Give her power, and she’ll exercise it without regard to property rights or the innovation that comes with the promise of profit.

One of the ways to encourage innovation is to ensure that people profit from their inventions. According to a cool little history I found, the Florentines came up with the first patent, which they granted in 1421 to Filippo Brunelleschi for a boat he designed to carry heavy loads up the Arno.

The English were not far behind, granting their first patent in 1449 to a stained-glass  manufacturer. Although the system was initially abused (because the crown profited from it), by the 18th century, the British figured out a way to allow inventors to benefit from their inventions for a specific period before the field became crowded with others using that same idea.

Image: Patent office relief on the Herbert C. Hoover Building. Public domain.

The Founders accepted this British viewpoint that society benefitted from a system in which people’s intellectual ideas were a form of property entitled to protection. They incorporated that protection directly into the U.S. Constitution in Article I, Section 8, Clause 8:

Patent and Copyright Clause of the Constitution. [The Congress shall have power] “To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries.”

Image: The first United States patent, which George Washington signed. Public domain.

The beauty of strong protections for ideas, of course, is that these protections encourage people to innovate. Indeed, at the end of the 19th century, Americans were so inspired by Thomas Edison that every person in every city and town scrambled to come up with brilliant ideas that would make them rich and famous. A lot of the ideas were silly enough that they, in turn, inspired Rube Goldberg’s brilliant cartoons, but the principle was sound: When you encourage people to think outside the box by promising profit for doing so, you get an explosion of creativity that can change the world.

The American government often puts its thumb on the scale to encourage innovation. This became a habit in the defense industry and then drifted into the medical industry. On the one hand, it’s a good idea because it allows individuals and companies to pour money into inventions. On the other hand, I’ve always struggled with the fact that the taxpayers fund the invention, but the individuals and companies get the profits. If I were in Congress, I would mandate a profit-sharing scheme as part of dispersing those taxpayer monies. Sadly, Congress never does.

Kamala Harris is an economic and free market illiterate whose entire being is focused on the abolition of private property and consolidating it in government hands (or, alternatively, adopting the fascist socialist model of allowing private property provided it’s subject to government control). That’s why, back in 2019, Kamala announced was already dreaming of the price controls she advocates for now. Moreover, she explained that, if government price fixing (which decreases supplies) didn’t work, companies would find that the government would seize patents (ending innovation):

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) suggested late last week that she would “snatch” patents from private companies if they did not abide by her orders so that the government could “take over.”

My plan, as a candidate for president, on these drug prices is as follows: We are going to set drug prices based on fair market,” Harris said during a campaign stop in Iowa on Friday. “So, essentially what we’re going to do – and you can visit the website if you will, and if not, get you some documents – but essentially what we’re going to do is set drug prices so that American consumers are charged a price for drugs that’s the average price that’s being charged around the globe.”

    [snip]

So, for any drug where they fail to play by our rules, and if that drug came about from federal funding for what’s called ‘R&D,’ research and development, I will snatch their patent so that we will take over,” Harris continued.

The audience asked if Harris was legally allowed to do that, to which Harris responded, “Yes, we can do that! Yes, yes, we can do that! Yes, we can do that. The question is whether you have the will to do it. I have the will to do it.”

Kamala’s idea that she can “snatch” patents is, quite simply, government theft. As the Fifth Amendment says, no person (and a corporation is a person) may be “deprived of…property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

World history has repeatedly demonstrated that when people don’t have a profit incentive to take the time, make the effort, and expend their wealth to perfect an idea and bring it to market, they won’t. This results in societies where nothing changes for hundreds or even thousands of years. They make charming tourist destinations, but they don’t increase the local or international standard of living or increase the world’s wealth. Alternatively, you get China, which steals ideas rather than comes up with them. That provides a short-term solution to a society interested in getting rich quickly, but eventually, the society stagnates. Other countries get better at protecting their intellectual property and the thieves have no creative skills. After all, innovation is as much a learned skill as it is a societal construct.

Kamala’s plans will destroy the American economic juggernaut (which, while on life-support, can still be resuscitated). It’s to be hoped that people figure this out before voting starts.

  • Hollywood Shyn CEO Antoine Von Boozier Shares Expertise on Achieving a Celebrity Smile – The US Times

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Von Boozier.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My journey thus far has been quite the adventure. At just 13 years old, I launched my career in the entertainment industry and quickly achieved a noteworthy list of accolades in Film, Television, and Fashion. As a correspondent, I spent years interviewing A-list celebrities and attending red-carpet events, basking in the excitement and glamour of it all. However, despite my love for the work, I always felt there was something more I could do. Entrepreneurship had always been a passion of mine, and I dreamed of starting my own business. After researching and exploring various options, I decided to take the plunge and launch a teeth whitening business. This endeavor felt like a natural fit, combining my love for beauty and wellness with my entrepreneurial spirit. Months of research and development led to the creation of a safe, effective, and affordable teeth whitening solution, helping people achieve a brighter, more confident smile. Building a business from scratch was no easy task, but the experience has taught me invaluable lessons and challenged me in ways I never thought possible.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Undoubtedly, building a prosperous business from scratch is an arduous task, and I’ve encountered various challenges throughout the journey. One of the most significant hurdles was transitioning from a stable, salaried job to the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. When I started my teeth whitening business, I had to learn how to manage finances, set achievable goals, and juggle multiple responsibilities daily. Another challenge was getting a grasp of the teeth whitening industry’s details. I spent a lot of time researching the science behind teeth whitening, legal and regulatory requirements. Despite the steep learning curve, I persevered. Marketing was another significant challenge I encountered. As a celebrity correspondent, promoting other people’s products was part of the job, but marketing my business was entirely new. I had to learn how to market myself effectively and reach my target audience. The experience has taught me a lot about digital marketing, social media, and branding. Though challenging, I appreciate every obstacle I’ve encountered because each taught me a valuable lesson and fostered my growth as an entrepreneur. I’m proud of my achievements thus far and optimistic about what the future holds.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Excellent question! As the founder of Hollywood Shyn, a teeth-whitening business, I specialize in providing safe, affordable, and effective teeth-whitening solutions for people seeking a brighter and more confident smile. What distinguishes me from my competitors is my unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I take immense pride in delivering top-notch service to my customers. My teeth whitening products are gentle yet potent, and I avoid harsh chemicals that could potentially harm teeth or cause sensitivity. Furthermore, I offer a personalized concierge experience to each of my clients, recognizing that every smile is unique. I collaborate closely with them to personalize a teeth-whitening plan that matches their specific needs and objectives. Whether a person seeks to whiten their teeth for a special occasion or wants to get that Hollywood smile I’m always available to assist. I’m enthusiastic about giving back to the community and supporting charitable causes. Each month, Hollywood Shyn provides free whitening treatments to individuals and organizations in urban areas. Consequently, when clients work with me, they not only enhance their smiles but also help make a positive impact in the world. I believe that my commitment to quality, personalized service, and social responsibility sets me apart from the competition.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

If you want to achieve success, whether in the entertainment industry or as an entrepreneur, my best advice is to stay true to yourself and persistently pursue your dreams. Achieving success often requires hard work, dedication, and resilience, and it’s essential to keep moving forward and stay focused on your goals, even when faced with obstacles. A crucial component of success is having a supportive and positive network of people around you who believe in your vision and are willing to provide encouragement and assistance when needed. Whether it’s colleagues, friends, or family members, having a strong support system can help you stay motivated and inspired, especially during challenging times. In any field, there is always more to learn and improve upon. By taking courses, attending conferences, or seeking out mentorship opportunities, you can invest in your personal and professional growth, which can help you achieve your goals and reach new levels of success.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is about taking risks, pushing boundaries, and constantly striving to improve. It’s about having a vision and pursuing it with passion and determination. It’s about building a team of like-minded individuals who share that vision and work together towards a common goal. At the same time, success also means taking care of oneself and finding balance in all aspects of life. It’s about achieving personal fulfillment and happiness while also making a positive impact on the world.

    What’s next for you?

Being someone who is always seeking out new challenges and opportunities, I am thrilled to keep expanding and growing my teeth whitening business. However, I am also interested in exploring fresh prospects in the entertainment industry. As a celebrity correspondent, I am passionate about sharing people’s stories and bringing them to life. Whether it involves writing, producing, or hosting, I am excited to explore innovative ways to connect with audiences and convey impactful messages. My goal is to remain true to myself and create a positive impact in the lives of others. With great enthusiasm, I look forward to what the future holds and the possibilities that lie ahead!

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

I’m always excited to meet and connect with new people to create positive and impactful moments. You can reach out to me on Instagram at @AntoineVBoozier. To learn more about my teeth whitening business, please follow us on Instagram at @HollywoodShyn or visit our website at www.HollywoodShyn.com to book our whitening services.

  • When The Saxons Begin to Fight Back | The Liberty Beacon

I have been vastly cheered by the hundreds of thousands of Extreme Right Wingers on the streets of Britain. You probably don’t know this, because it has been radically suppressed, but these people are, in fact, the British working class, the northerners, Labour’s supposed constituency, the ones saying not one more murdered raped brutalized little girl, we are in turmoil and it won’t stop until you listen. They are our canary, they are the first responders to a civilization-ending threat. And I was damned glad to see them step up.

    Here’s the nub of it:

ER: We’ve substituted a tweet from Ben Habib, longer than the original Tiktok video that we’re unable to republish —

Add in the almost weekly slaughter of the innocents, the fact that old ladies are afraid in their homes, that women can no longer walk the streets in peace.

    LINK

    ER: substitute for Tiktok video

    ER: see Tiktok video here

    And, two-tier justice:

The world has never produced a fighting spirit stronger than these people. They take a hella long time to wake up but when they do, they will devastate a continent.

    Historian Richard Starkey:

    LINK

    Trafalgar Square:

Which is exactly what one woman was screaming at two Muslim men, standing impassive in front of a mosque. They towered over her, but actually flinched when she yelled, “We’re white, we devastate continents, we start world wars.”

If you need help, you call on these people and their descendants all over the world. Our sociopathic over-lords have been trying to squish this spirit out of us, suppressing this specific foundational ancestral memory for a hundred years. They can’t do it. Isolated on an island, besieged by one conquering force after another since the year dot, overrun by Vikings, overrun by the Romans. Crazed Celts, maddened Picts, whacked out Druids, the cloister of the island created the best fighters ever.

    Best fighters ever. EVER.

The Romans were so afraid of the northern Britons they built a wall to keep them out. They called them savages, they called them insane, the mighty Roman legions were terrified. The Romans built Hadrian’s Wall, set a legion to police it, and then proceeded to extract every penny out of the more passive southerners. This is what the Romans heard from over the wall. Still terrifying:

    LINK

And then, after the Romans left, and the Vikings pulled out, the Scots and English thrones began to fight, and they swept over northern Britain, back and forth, back and forth for centuries.

The center of the island, the people of the border counties for hundreds of years toughened and toughened again. Their villages were devastated, their crops were devastated, the houses were pulled down, their men were killed, their sons were killed. For seven hundred years.

Cumbria. That was their home province, their spiritual home. It was “re-imagined” by the Romantic poets and called the Lake Country. No, it was not pretty and passive. It was dangerous and free. There are namesakes for Cumbrias all over the world, because these people bred. They bred survivors, they bred builders, and I’ll bet, if you counted, they have more descendants than any other “indigenous” tribe that has ever lived, barring China. These are the toughest people on the planet. And their history has been expunged. Why? They are the most dangerous to the New World Order.

These are the people who settled America, these are the people that the Marxist children call “settlers”, who built America, who built Canada in the most inhospitable climate, during the Little Ice Age, beset by indigenous who literally ate people – every tribe practiced human sacrifice – they built a modern country. Two of them. Where everybody wants to live. Not in Britain, not in destroyed Europe, not in South and Central America. In the U.S., and its somewhat retarded cousin, Canada. They created the Cowboy Way, they built the American south, the crackers and cowboys still hold to a fierce independence. They are our roots and we should acknowledge them as foundational.

They won both world wars. This is suppressed too, but modern Canada was originally settled by northern Britons. No one else wanted to come here in the 18th century, it was too bleak, too damned cold. So the most suppressed came, the toughest.. So desperate one-third died on the voyage.

In the first and second World Wars, the Canadians were tip of the spear because they were the fiercest fighters. The socialist trope is that they were cannon fodder. They were not. They were the tip of the spear because the Germans were terrified of them. They threw spam into the German trenches and followed with bombs, they went on trench warfare with weapons they invented, and slaughtered everything that moved. They were not the cannon fodder, they were the canons. They courted death. They were supra-violent. This too was suppressed knowledge. Canadians are the most terrifying fighters in the world.

The global populist rebellion was kicked off by the Canadian truckers.

I found out that I was from one of the Riding Clans of the border long after the more polite ancestral strains were excavated. But it is the one of which I am most proud. The Nicksons/Nixons/Nicsouns were one of The Names of the Scots/English border. This is important: the Names were some of the first surnames taken by the non-aristocratic. They were not serf names, they did not take the name of a natural body like a lake or hill. They were not “profession” names, they were not owned-by-the-laird names. They were the Names of independents, who had claimed a name and held it. I suspect that ours was taken because we wanted everyone to think we were the son of old Nick, so as to terrify. The Names, the Riding Clans, had, over time, given the ceaseless wars in their homeland, become a collection of violent criminal gangs that stole cattle, that hired out as mercenaries, that raided for a living.

There is an apocryphal story of a wife slamming a pair of spurs onto her husband’s tin plate, as a sign that the cupboard was bare and get going idiot.

Elizabeth 1 on her deathbed said that “with 10,000 such men, James 1 could topple any throne in Europe.”

They kept cattle and sheep and in the summers, they would hook everyone up to carts and climb the peaks of the Lake District so their animals could fatten up for the year ahead. The Nixons were a sept of the mighty Armstrongs, and were so eccentric and violent that if you stumbled into Nicsoun territory at night, you were a dead man.

    The Armstrong Reivers

They did not farm because the Thrones would almost certainly devastate every year’s harvest. They did not build houses because their houses would be burnt. They lived in what they called Peel Towers, stone towers, animals on the bottom. The poorest lived in straw and mud huts, and they fought for their lives every single year. Some of them – the most violent – built castles so bleak even film doesn’t show them.

    The first surnames.

Why? Because they were independent. They were not serfs, they did not belong to anyone, and they refused domination. The core of every functional army today is still border clan.

The working class of Britain just woke up to the fact that Labour is not on their side, has not been on their side for a very long time.

Tony Blair is a Fabian socialist, and the Fabians were aristocratic authoritarians who want everyone but them to be small, scared and insignificant. It took them a century to own the government of the Britain but own it they do. They took their name from the Roman General who invented the incremental advance, the slow inexorable, profoundly dishonest assault on an enemy. The Fabian strategy.

Which this week was roundly rejected.

Old Britain, the former working class, just took a right turn into populism. And there is no stopping it. This Dutch pretty girl freedom fighter just got her troops.

Welcome to Absurdistan is funded by you, the reader. This is our second birthday, and Absurdistan’s singular employee’s birthday, and thanks to you, we are what my father would call “a going concern”.

Elizabeth Nickson was trained as a reporter at the London bureau of Time Magazine. She became European Bureau Chief of LIFE magazine in its last years of monthly publication, and during that time, acquired the rights to Nelson Mandela’s memoir before he was released from Robben Island. She went on to write for Harper’s Magazine, the Guardian, the Observer, the Independent, the Sunday Telegraph, the Sunday Times Magazine, the Telegraph, the Globe and Mail and the National Post. Her first book The Monkey Puzzle Tree was an investigation of the CIA MKULTRA mind control program and was published by Bloomsbury and Knopf Canada. Her next book, Eco-Fascists, How Radical Environmentalists Are Destroying Our Natural Heritage, was a look at how environmentalism, badly practiced, is destroying the rural economy and rural culture in the U.S. and all over the world. It was published by Adam Bellow at Harper Collins US. She is a Senior Fellow at the Frontier Center for Public Policy, fcpp.org. • Monkeypox Tabletop Exercise Document from 2021 Looks Just Like COVID Preplanned Event 201 | The Liberty Beacon

Blue Tooth Mac Address Phenomenon From COVID 19 Shots – Conversation with Dr. Pedro Chavez From COMUSAV. Truth, Science and Spirit Ep 30

The fake news is ready to churn the propaganda machine and even that is scripted.

There is a planned “ATTACK” on humanity with its predetermined lockstep timeline.

    Here is the paper:

In March 2021, the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) partnered with the Munich Security Conference (MSC) to conduct a tabletop exercise on reducing high-consequence biological threats. Conducted virtually, the exercise examined gaps in national and international biosecurity and pandemic preparedness architectures and explored opportunities to improve capabilities to prevent and respond to high-consequence biological events. Participants included 19 senior leaders and experts from across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe with decades of combined experience in public health, biotechnology industry, international security, and philanthropy.

The exercise scenario portrayed a deadly, global pandemic involving an unusual strain of monkeypox virus that emerged in the fictional nation of Brinia and spread globally over 18 months. Ultimately, the exercise scenario revealed that the initial outbreak was caused by a terrorist attack using a pathogen engineered in a laboratory (ER: LOL) with inadequate biosafety and biosecurity provisions and weak oversight. By the end of the exercise, the fictional pandemic resulted in more than three billion cases and 270 million fatalities worldwide.

Move 1 (occurring on June 5, 2022, in scenario time) starts with an unusual outbreak of monkeypox in Brinia (population 250 million), with reports of 1,421 cases and four fatalities. There is no immediate evidence of international spread, but the outbreak takes place during a national holiday with extensive domestic and international travel by Brinians. Because monkeypox is not naturally found in Brinia, local and international experts consider this outbreak to be unusual. The Brinian government welcomes international outbreak investigations and requests medical support from the WHO. Genome sequencing of monkeypox patient samples reveals that the strain in Brinia contains mutations that make it resistant to existing vaccines.

The discussion that followed considered how the international system is postured to analyze initial indicators of pandemic risk and to communicate appropriate warnings.

Move 2 (January 10, 2023) occurs six months later, at which point the virus has spread to 83 countries with 70 million reported cases, causing more than 1.3 million fatalities. With no known effective therapies or vaccines, countries have had to rely principally on non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic. Highlighting significantly different national outcomes in managing the pandemic, some governments, including the fictional Republic of Dranma, promptly adopted aggressive measures to slow virus transmission by shutting down mass gatherings, imposing social-distancing measures, and implementing mask mandates. These countries have also established large-scale testing and contact-tracing operations and scaled-up their health care systems to support anticipated growing case numbers. By contrast, the scenario depicts another group of countries, including fictional Cardus, that have prioritized keeping their economies open, undertaking little-to-no NPIs, and downplaying the virus and its potential impacts. These countries have experienced much worse outcomes in terms of illness and mortality (Figure 2) than those that responded early and energetically. As Figure 3 shows, Dranma experienced far fewer cases and fatalities than Cardus.

Participant discussion in Move 2 focused on exploring the conditions that should trigger national pandemic response actions and discussing strategies and challenges for scaling public health interventions.

More surveillance is needed according to the findings:

The role of the WHO is discussed:

All participants agreed that the principal means of international pandemic risk warning now in place—the WHO Director General’s declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC)—requires significant reform. Among the shortfalls they identified in the current PHEIC approach is that it is a binary tool for a world where pandemic risks are characterized by different levels of risk that evolve over time. The current PHEIC approach potentially lumps risks like a limited regional Ebola outbreak with a globally catastrophic biological event. Both are concerning, but to very different degrees, and they warrant different responses. The binary nature of the PHEIC also unintentionally creates incentives to delay warnings. In effect, if analysts and decision makers only have two choices, they are likely to err on the side of certainty before activating an international alert system.

Participants stressed that a graded pandemic warning system—analogous to graded systems used for hurricanes and other natural disasters—would arguably provide a more flexible, informative, and actionable system for communicating risk. Under the current International Health Regulations (IHR 2005), the WHO could be empowered to provide more detailed risk assessments to member states. One participant noted that formally shifting the WHO PHEIC to a graded system might require a change to the IHR, which could pose significant political challenges. Exercise participants observed that regardless of the particular institutional arrangements chosen for international systems of pandemic detection, analysis, and warning, these systems must be transparent. In particular, deliberations that currently occur behind closed doors—the WHO Emergency Committee, for example—would benefit if, at a minimum, an outside expert group could analyze the data and reach conclusions in parallel. Arguably, this would help validate and lend independent weight to official findings, or could challenge findings if they are inconsistent with available evidence.1

  • Special Ed Educator, Turned Millionaire Mental Health Life Coach – The US Times

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaKendra Smalley.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Growing up in a family that prioritized excellence and God is my solid foundation of how I’ve overcome so much. I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder at a young age, suffered academically early, repeated a grade, and my self-esteen suffered. Despite my struggles, I had a teacher who believed in me. She later discovers I was gifted and talented in leadership and creativity, and my life changed forever.

This experience motivated me to become an educator, and work in Special Education. What I didnt know were the challenges I would face teaching in Title 1 schools. The districts I worked in were not equipped to handle high-level students, and it cost me BIG TIME, because I worked countless hours without compensation just to reach them. I needed to make more money to survive.

I ended up earning my Master’s in Organizational Leadership, and later started my PhD in Psychology. I gained the confidence to start selling my course, which was a Life Coach Certification to help teachers with their social, emotional, and financial needs, and the rest is history.

Now, I partner with School Districts, working with their at-risk students, and certify Life Coach Teachers in the school that get paid to help. What a dream come true! I’ve enhanced my certification to a Mental and Behavioral Health Life Coach Certification. It has helped so many Educators become responsible for their mental health, and teach their students the life skills they need to also be responsible for theirs.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I tried entrepreneurship three different times. Initially, I ran my business while also being a full-time student, working full-time, and running a non-profit. So naturally, I thought I had it all together and decided to leave my job to pursue my business full-time.

Soon after, I realized that it was actually my job that was funding my business. I went from thinking “this is great” to realizing “wait, I can’t even pay my rent this month,” which led me back into the school system.

The second time I left my job to pursue entrepreneurship was because a mass layoff occurred. At that time, I had two choices: save my aides I had working for me that were making between $12-$15 by me leaving to save their jobs, or I quit and take the $15,000 bailout that was offered. Me planning to take that money and invest it, I quit that job.

Then my mother gets sick, forcing me to go back to work.

Eventually, I found life coaching and self-coached myself to start thriving, which had a positive impact on my students as well. I created the I C.A.R.E. Global Heart Model that has impacted hundreds of life coaches and teachers, particularly those who work with children in Title I schools. My goal is to help fill the gaps in VIP3 – Vision, Influence, Purpose, Passion, and Profit – so that no child is left behind due to their background.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Worthy competitors of mine include The Life Coach School by Brooke Castillo, Jay Shetty, and Tony Robbins because they offer one of the best life coaching certifications available. They have created models that truly help create a massive impact on people’s lives, including mine. Where we differ is that I’ve created a Boutique-Style school that serves all people who want to become a Certified Life Coach. We prioritize affordability, accessibility, and inclusiveness for every region we serve around the world. It’s not a cookie-cutter program here. We can individualize it if needed, and we always keep this in mind. I come from a place where it was deliberately designed for people to fail. It was wickedness at its best. Therefore, my heart is built differently. I have been able to help those who want to enter the profession get certified through my company and become the change they wish to see in society.

Our model not only teaches you how to self-coach and how to coach others but also how to have a global impact.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

“Life isn’t designed to be perfect, so we all will have a lot of burdens in life. However, life was designed for us to WIN, as long as we complete the race, no matter what place. We must keep showing up and being responsible for the life we are co-creating. It’s not how you finish, but when you finish. It’s the character you develop while in the race. It’s when you will see just how brave, strong, and resilient you really are. It is not solely about the FINISH. It’s also about YOUR START, and every second of every decision you will be faced with that will mold you into a champion during the race. So, when you do finish, the place doesn’t matter because you would have defeated every obstacle that stood in your way.”

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success, to me, means the freedom to explore your entire essence of why you were put here on this earth. It means the freedom to break away from traditional norms and to operate in your God-given talents and gifts. Also, success buys us time. I remember the time when I couldn’t walk for a couple of days, and I didn’t have a boss to call to beg to take care of myself. I was able to be off as long as I needed, and my bills were still paid – that’s HELLA success to me.

    What’s next for you?

I want the community of Life Coaches and Entrepreneurs to experience financial freedom. My goal is to demonstrate what financial freedom is and how to attain it. To achieve this, I’m launching small masterminds where I can showcase the profit ladder and offer courses on financial freedom for entrepreneurs and life coaches. I plan on touring in various locations such as the Philippines, Dubai, Nairobi, Mexico, and Farmers Branch to teach my VIP3 Method.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
