  • Top Climate Expert Blows the Whistle, Admits ‘Crisis’ Is a Hoax

One of the most esteemed climate scientists in the world has debunked the green agenda’s claim that the planet is confronting a “crisis” due to “global warming.”

Judith Curry, Ph.D., is a climatologist who has published over 140 scientific publications and articles.

Curry, a former chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, has acknowledged to propagating false “climate change” propaganda. Recently, Curry came forward to admit that she fabricated her studies concluding that “climate change” is causing more frequent and severe hurricanes worldwide.

Curry has been one of the most prominent voices warning for years that the planet faces a “emergency” due to purportedly “man-made climate change.” Her work has been frequently cited by advocates of climate alarmism.

Curry stated that after publishing a study that appeared to demonstrate a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity, she became the beloved of the liberal corporate media.

“We found that the percent of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes had doubled,” says Curry.

Around the time of Hurricane Katrina, the study was published. The “more intense” hurricanes reported in her research quickly provided alarmists with ammunition.

“This was picked up by the media,” and then climate alarmists said to themselves, “Oh, here is the way to do it,” she said. “Tie extreme weather events to global warming!”

Curry confesses that she enjoyed the green agenda ride after her work was linked to “climate change” and received worldwide recognition.

“I was adopted by the environmental advocacy groups and the alarmists and I was treated like a rock star,” Curry recounts. “Flown all over the place to meet with politicians.”

However, other researchers pointed out gaps in her research by emphasizing the years with minimal hurricane activity.

“Like a good scientist, I investigated,” says Curry. “Part of it was bad data,” she confessed. “Part of it is natural climate variability.”

Curry states that her decision to speak out was prompted by the exposure of her own work. She realized through personal experience that the “climate-change industry” is designed to reward alarmism.

“The origins go back to the . . . UN environmental program,” she said.

Some United Nations officials were motivated by “anti-capitalism,” she said. “They hated the oil companies and seized on the climate change issue to move their policies along.”

The UN created the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988.

“The IPCC wasn’t supposed to focus on any benefits of warming,” Curry explains. “The IPCC’s mandate was to look for dangerous human-caused climate change. Then the national funding agencies directed all the funding . . . assuming there are dangerous impacts.”

The researchers soon realized that in order to obtain funding, they needed to make alarmist claims about “man-made climate change.”

This is how the climate change alarmists are able to get “manufactured consensus.”

  • Ky. man arrested for allegedly fatally shooting his father and son

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TCD) — A 40-year-old man was taken into custody this week after he allegedly shot and killed his father and son at an apartment complex.

On Monday, Oct. 2, at 3:50 a.m., Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to the 600 block of Douglas Park regarding a shooting and found two males suffering from gunshot wounds.

Louisville EMS responded to the scene and pronounced both victims deceased. The same day, officers arrested Ricardo Yunior Rodriguez on two counts of murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a defaced firearm.

Police confirmed the two victims are Rodriguez’s father and son, who WLKY-TV identified as 55-year-old Miguel Ricardo and 17-year-old Giovanni Rodriguez.

According to WLKY, Louisville Metro Police reportedly found Rodriguez near the doorway of the apartment and he later allegedly admitted to police he shot his father and son.

WAVE-TV reports Rodriguez was arrested in 2013 for fatally stabbing a 41-year-old man. He was initially charged with murder, but then it was changed to manslaughter. A judge sentenced him to 6 1/2 years in prison, but he was released in September 2017.

  • San Francisco prioritizing Black, ‘Latinx’ people in guaranteed transgender income program

    From Fox News:

A program in San Francisco to hand out money to low-income transgender-identifying people favored Black and “Latinx” recipients and even sets race targets for recipients, new documents show.

Judicial Watch obtained more than 1,700 pages of documents from the City of San Francisco related to the Guaranteed Income for Transgender People (GIFT) program, which was announced by Mayor London Breed last year.

The pilot program provides low-income transgender residents with payments of up to $1,200 each month for up to 18 months with the goal of providing “economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty.” It uses pre-paid debit cards due to participants potentially not having bank accounts. The amount someone can receive is capped at $4,000.

  • Fact Check: Video falsely claims the next deadly global pandemic is here

A video featuring ominous images of oversized viruses and people in medical masks warns that a pandemic more devastating than the one caused by COVID-19 is here.

“A new deadly pandemic is at our doorstep,” the Oct. 2 Facebook video claimed. “The new threat comes in the form of an unknown virus, more lethal and more contagious than anything we have experienced before.”

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

    (Screengrab from Facebook)

The Facebook video also mentions World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warning about the next pandemic.

During his May address to the World Health Assembly, Tedros said the end of the COVID-19 global health emergency does not mean the virus is no longer a concern.

“The threat of another variant emerging that causes new surges of disease and death remains. And the threat of another pathogen emerging with even deadlier potential remains,” he said.

Nevertheless, no new global health crisis has been declared.

The World Health Organization maintains a list of “priority pathogens” to identify and prepare for diseases that could cause global outbreaks or pandemics. The current priority diseases are:

According to the World Health Organization, Disease X “represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease.”

Conspiracy theorists have hijacked the term Disease X to spread baseless narratives that future pandemics are “planned” or “money-making scams.”

The World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities track disease outbreaks around the globe and send alerts to the public about emerging health threats. But, as of Oct. 5, there were no reports of an unknown disease causing widespread infection.

We rate the claim that “a new deadly pandemic is at our doorstep” False.

  • House GOP Demands Gaetz Agree to Change Speaker Removal Threshold —His Counteroffer is AMAZING

Congress Matt Gaetz, who led an insurrection within the Republican Party to change the Speaker from Kevin McCarthy to anybody else (preferably, Donald Trump) was hit with an ‘offer he can’t refuse’ on Thursday.

Vote to change the threshold in the caucus to remove the Speaker.

His counteroffer, delivered by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, is simply amazing.

    !function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src=”https://rumble.com/embedJS/u4870v”+(arguments[1].video?’.’+arguments[1].video:”)+”/?url=”+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+”&args=”+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, “script”, “Rumble”);

“The American people are frustrated and exhausted with the corruption and role of big money in the halls of Congress,” Khanna said. “That is why I’m introducing a five point plan. First, ban all PAC and lobbyist money to Congressional campaigns. I don’t take a dime of it.”

“Second, ban completely stock trading and members of Congress from ever becoming lobbyists,” he continued. “Activists like Unusual Whales, Quiver, Quantitative, and the leaders at Crew have been mobilizing for this third term limits for members of Congress.”

“Fourth, term limits for Supreme Court Justices, and Fifth and Ethics Code for Supreme Court Justices,” he continued.

“This is common sense,” he added. “The people demand it, it’s time we give them back their government and we reform in Washington. We should have bipartisan support for this five point plan. ”

Matt Gaetz completely agrees, as reported by Unusual Whales.

“JUST IN: Matt Gaetz said he’ll change the motion to vacate threshold IF Congress enacts Rep Ro Khanna reform plan that: – bans Congress stock trading – bans Congress from lobbying – 12 year term limits – ban lobbyist/PAC donations,” Unusual Wales, noting that Khanna mentioned the reform activist in his floor speech.

Matt Gaetz, while moving to vacate the chair by Kevin McCarthy, loudly drew boos when exposing the Congressmembers’ affinity for lobbyist and special interest money.

“While debating on the motion to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy, FL Rep. Matt Gaetz was booed by fellow Republicans for calling out lawmakers who ‘grovel and bend knee for the lobbyists … who own [House] leadership’,” NowThis reported.

“Boo all you want!” he added.

There are certainly a lot of Washington D.C. politicians booing at the reforms like the ones supporting by Ro Khanna and backed by Matt Gaetz.

But if these reforms would ever come to pass, it might be the first time in a long time that Washington D.C. politicians actually did something worth cheering.

  • Man wanted for allegedly tying Airbnb host with zip ties, robbing him at gunpoint

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (TCD) — Police are searching for a man they allege bound his Airbnb host with zip ties, then took his wallet while holding him at gunpoint.

According to Gwinnett County Police, on Sept. 26 at 10:05 p.m., Khalil Hamilton checked into his Airbnb on Seed Way. He was renting the basement space from the victim, Jason Ling. At 10:43 p.m., Hamilton allegedly texted Ling and told him the toilet was leaking. Ling went to the basement bathroom to fix the problem, and when he turned around, Hamilton reportedly “had a black handgun and a white Taser pointed at him.”

Ling told police Hamilton forced him to get on the ground. Then, Hamilton allegedly bound his hands and feet with zip ties.

The arrest report says Ling told Hamilton he could “take whatever you want, just don’t hurt me and my family.”

Ling’s son and mother were in the residence when the purported robbery occurred, but they did not witness it.

Hamilton allegedly demanded Ling to give him his wallet, money, and cards. Ling told him where the find the wallet “so that Khalil would not hurt him or his family.” Hamilton got the wallet from upstairs, then returned with Ling’s backpack.

Before he left, Hamilton allegedly told Ling, “You’re a dumbass.”

Ling ultimately escaped by “twisting and turning his wrist.” When he freed himself, he ran upstairs and called police. Ling had surveillance footage of Hamilton, which he shared with police. Hamilton is believed to be traveling in a late 1990s Honda Accord with a Texas license plate that does not belong to his vehicle.

  • DCNF, Judicial Watch Sue Biden Admin For Withholding Records On Book Bans, Moms For Liberty And DeSantis

    From The Daily Caller:

The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the Department of Education (DOE) for failing to produce records regarding correspondence on the subjects of book bans, parental rights organization Moms for Liberty and Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida.

On July 3, the U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona gave a speech to the National Education Association noting the “divisive drama” in education in recent weeks, according to a copy of his remarks. Several days prior, Moms for Liberty had hosted a summit with Republican presidential candidates, including DeSantis, who expressed concerns about “woke ideology” in schools.

Tom Fitton, president of JW, said in a statement that the lawsuit is designed to show the Biden administration’s “effort[s]” to  “smear and target parents.”

“This lawsuit aims to uncover the truth about the desperate new effort by the Biden administration and its leftist teachers’ union allies to smear and target parents who oppose sexually explicit and other extremist content being made available to schoolchildren,” Fitton said.

  • Fact Check: Fact-check: Donald Trump’s repeated falsehood that he saved the U.S. auto industry

As United Auto Workers strike against the leading U.S. automakers, former President Donald Trump took credit for saving the auto industry.

“When I came into office, the auto industry was on its knees, gasping its last breaths after eight long years of Obama and Biden,” Trump told nonunion autoworkers Sept. 27 at Drake Enterprises in Clinton Township, outside Detroit. “It is no exaggeration to state the Trump presidency and the deftly used and applied Trump tariffs and taxes saved the American auto industry from extinction time and time again.”

But recent history shows the reality is the opposite: Trump neither inherited a nearly dead auto industry nor revived it. Experts say the Bush and Obama administrations helped boost the auto industry while Trump administration actions hurt it.

    Bush and Obama administrations’ actions

In 2008, as the Great Recession was hurting the U.S., the auto industry was in dire shape. Layoffs were soaring at auto plants and auto parts suppliers. Gasoline prices were up. Buying power was down. General Motors was nearly out of cash to pay its bills and Chrysler was close behind.

Interventions by the outgoing George W. Bush and newly elected Barack Obama administrations pulled the industry back from the brink of collapse. Under Obama, GM and Chrysler underwent quick, taxpayer-financed bankruptcy reorganizations orchestrated by a federal task force and the U.S. Treasury Department. Both auto companies emerged healthily from the Great Recession, adding jobs and production capacity.

“At its basic level, the car companies got a well-financed restructuring, and the financier was the government,” Mike Ramsey, an automotive analyst and senior research director at consulting company Gartner told Business Insider in 2018. “The companies were essentially given a clean balance sheet and reset to a point that made them viable.”

Manufacturing output of motor vehicles and parts rose along with employment in Michigan’s auto sector during the Obama administration.

The Center for Automotive Research examined major investments in the auto industry and found that from 2013 to 2016, during the Obama administration, $47.3 billion in work was announced. By comparison, during the Trump years, 2017 to 2020, $38 billion in projects were announced.

Trump cites trade deals and tariffs that, taken together, did not yield net industry gains

In his Michigan speech, Trump cited several of his trade policies that he said helped the industry. An expert we spoke to pointed to one Trump tariff that led to a small increase in U.S. auto parts production. But the majority of Trump’s policies hurt the industry or had no significant impact during Trump’s presidency.

Tariffs on Chinese imports: Trump imposed tariffs up to 25% on China’s auto production in 2018. Although Trump’s tariffs aimed to punish China, U.S. companies got many parts from other countries, said Katheryn N. Russ, chair of the University of California, Davis’ economics department. At the same time, the U.S. International Trade Commission (see table 6.23) found that these tariffs led to a 3% increase in U.S. domestic gross output in auto parts production.

But China retaliated, raising tariffs on U.S. exports to China. Beijing’s tariffs led to a significant reduction in U.S. auto exports to China, said Brad Setser, a U.S. trade official during the Biden administration. In response to the tariffs, Tesla also bought a subsidiary in China and its Shanghai production began exporting to the EU while U.S. exports of electric vehicles to both China and Europe fell sharply.

Trump’s campaign told PolitiFact that without the tariffs he imposed on China, the U.S. might have seen the soaring number of car imports from China that the E.U. experienced.

Renegotiated Korea Free Trade agreement: As part of Trump’s renegotiation of this agreement, he extended until 2041 a 25% U.S. tariff on imports of small pickup trucks.

But James Rubenstein, a Miami University in Ohio geography professor known for his auto industry research, said the tariff is largely “symbolic” because “Hyundai/Kia, which is responsible for most vehicle production in Korea, does not produce a pickup truck.”

Stopped Trans-Pacific Partnership: In his first month in office, Trump ordered the U.S. to withdraw from this free trade deal with 11 Asian-Pacific countries. Obama had negotiated the agreement, but it was never implemented. No one knows with certainty what the impact of this deal would have been on the auto industry.

Replaced NAFTA with USMCA: Trump replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement, in place since 1994, with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

The new agreement took effect July 2020 and aimed to encourage auto manufacturers to source auto parts from Canada, Mexico and the U.S. It required that 75% of an automobile’s components be manufactured in those three countries to qualify for zero tariffs. NAFTA had required that 62.5% of the components be manufactured in those three countries.

Gary Hufbauer, an economist and trade expert at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, a Washington, D.C., think tank, said that although the USMCA changes tightened the auto production rules, they made little difference in the U.S. auto industry.

That’s partly because auto manufacturers seem to prefer the alternative option of paying the 2.5% Most Favored Nation tariff on imported parts or assembled automobiles from Canada and Mexico, which is often cheaper and simpler than adhering to the rules-of-origin requirements.

Automotive News’ data shows the number of vehicles assembled throughout the United States by Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co. and Chrysler parent Stellantis. In 2008, Obama’s first year in office, 5 million vehicles were assembled. That rose to 6.3 million in 2016, Obama’s final year. In 2019, the last year of Trump’s presidency before the pandemic, the number fell to 4.5 million vehicles.

Trump steel tariffs hurt auto industry

One of Trump’s tariff actions hampered the U.S. auto industry, sparking the loss of thousands of jobs.

In March 2018, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on imported aluminum, with exemptions for Canada and Mexico. The move was intended to punish China.

The Federal Reserve Board of Governors found that by mid-2019, increased input costs related to the steel and aluminum tariffs were associated with 0.6% fewer jobs in the manufacturing sector. Based on those figures, Russ and Harvard University economics doctoral student Lydia Cox found that equated to about 75,000 fewer jobs in manufacturing. That figure did not include additional losses experienced by U.S. exporters that faced tariffs levied by other countries in retaliation.

“It is hard to find a plausible explanation for how levying a tax on a key input for the auto industry would have been beneficial to the auto industry,” Russ said.

Kristin Dziczek, vice president of industry, labor and economics at the Center for Automotive Research, told Reuters in October 2020 that the tariffs hurt the industry. GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler, now part of Stellantis, all closed plants in Michigan since 2018, the year the tariffs were imposed. It cost GM and Ford $1 billion each for increased steel costs in 2018.

We found accumulating evidence that Trump’s overall tariff strategy backfired. A December 2020 summary from the Congressional Research Service, Congress’ nonpartisan policy arm, said most studies “suggest a negative overall effect on U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) as a result of the tariffs” and that most studies found U.S. consumers and companies “bore nearly the entire increased costs associated with the tariffs.”

    Our ruling

When Trump took office, “the auto industry was on its knees gasping its last breath.” Trump administration “tariffs and taxes saved the American auto industry from extinction.”

Trump is wrong on both counts. Actions by the Bush and Obama administrations helped revive the auto industry; it was not near death when Trump took office.

The majority of Trump’s trade deals and tariffs hurt the auto industry or had no significant impact during his presidency. In particular, Trump’s 2018 tariffs on steel and aluminum significantly hurt the U.S. auto industry.

    We rate this statement False.

  • Donald Trump Expected to Attend ‘Closed Candidate Forum’ for House Speaker

Former President Donald Trump is expected to attend a “closed candidate forum” for House Speaker candidates on Tuesday, according to a new Fox News report.

“From colleague Brooke Singman. Trump expected to attend GOP mtg on Tuesday for closed candidate forum for House Speaker,” Chad Pergram noted on X.

Former President Donald Trump disclosed on Wednesday that he has been fielding calls about the possibility of becoming the next speaker of the House of Representatives, but the legal disputes plaguing the Republican Party may keep him on the campaign trail and away from Capitol Hill.

Trump, 77, has already been identified as the preferred speaker candidate by at least two House Republicans. However, a little-known House GOP rule prohibiting those with felony indictments from serving in the role could render him ineligible for the position.

“A member of the Republican Leadership shall step aside if indicted for a felony for which a sentence of two or more years’ imprisonment may be imposed,” the Republican Conference Rules of the 118th Congress state.

Trump faces a total of 91 charges in four separate criminal cases, and if convicted, he faces up to 712 years and six months in prison.

These provisions could be modified to accommodate Speaker Trump.

Reps. Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise are the leading candidates to replace Kevin McCarthy, who was voted out of his position as speaker of the House on Tuesday in an unprecedented move.

The Republicans intend to conduct a candidate forum for speaker next Tuesday, followed by a possible vote the following day.

For the second time this year, the gavel of House speaker is up for grabs, and for the second time, this contest threatens to divide the Republican caucus along ideological lines.

However, with Trump’s freedom potentially at peril and a rematch with President Biden in the cards, it appears unlikely that the former president will take the gavel at this time.

Of course, anything is possible. And strange days are upon us.

  • Calif. man arrested 40 years after woman is found naked, beaten to death

SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (TCD) — Advancements in DNA technology helped officials identify and arrest a 65-year-old man accused of killing a woman 40 years ago.

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, on June 27, 1983, deputies responded to the unincorporated area of Rohnert Park and discovered Noelle Russo’s naked body. Russo had been beaten to death, and detectives began what would turn out to be a decades-long search trying to find her killer.

The Sheriff’s Office said investigators conducted numerous interviews, collected evidence, and developed persons of interest but never made any arrests.

Between 2010 to 2023, detectives with the Violent Crime Investigations Unit submitted evidence for DNA analysis to the Santa Clara County Crime Lab and the Serological Research Institute. Based on DNA and other evidence, the Sheriff’s Office said investigators were able to positively identify Alfredo Carretero Jr., an original person of interest, as the primary suspect.

Detectives arrested Carretero on Monday, Oct. 2, on suspicion of murder. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail and is being held without bail.

The victim’s family has been made aware of Carretero’s arrest.
