BALTIMORE (TCN) — A retired Baltimore Police Department officer will spend the rest of his life behind bars for sexually abusing multiple children at his ex-wife’s day care center, which led to his estranged wife shooting him.
Court records show James Weems was convicted in November of three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, two counts of second-degree rape, and one count of displaying obscene materials to a minor. WUSA-TV reports those charges relate to his actions against a 10-year-old girl, though he is accused of sexually abusing three other children as well. Records indicate he was charged with 33 counts total.
In July 2022, Washington Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a shooting call and found Weems suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers arrested his wife, Shanteari Weems, for assault with intent to kill. Four days later, Baltimore County Police issued a warrant for James Weems’ arrest, alleging he “sexually abused at least three children while working at a day care facility located in Owings Mills.” The facility was reportedly owned and operated by Shanteari Weems.
According to WUSA, James Weems worked as a van driver for the day care center. He reportedly showed the 10-year-old girl porn in the van, where he assaulted her. He reportedly claimed he did not have any type of inappropriate relationship with her. Shanteari Weems, who is serving time after she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and carrying a pistol without a license, testified at her estranged husband’s trial and said the 10-year-old victim had developmental delays. She said Weems called the victim his “little buddy” and “my little helper.”
WUSA reports Weems served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Maryland Army National Guard prior to working for the Baltimore Police Department.

Bye Letitia? Criminal Referral Filed Against NY AG
James “falsified records” to get home loans for a Virginia property that she claimed was her “principal residence”
(ZeroHedge) – A criminal referral against New York Attorney General Letitia James has been filed with the DOJ, alleging that James had “falsified records” to get home loans for a Virginia property that she claimed was her “principal residence” in 2023 – while she was serving as a New York state prosecutor.
Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte sent the missive to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche, claiming that in late August 2023 – weeks before she launched her civil fraud trial against the Trump Organization for inflating the values of its properties.
In 2021, James also purchased a 5-family Brooklyn property, but has “consistently misrepresented the same property as only having four units in both building permit applications and numerous mortgage documents and applications,” the letter noted.
Loans secured for this property could have reduced her mortgage interest rate by as much as 1% – leaving James with lower monthly payments under the federal Home Assistance Modification Program (HAMP) since it was listed as containing just four units, according to Pulte.

Documents from the NYC Department of Buildings show a pattern of inconsistencies about a Brooklyn property James owns—inconsistencies that mysteriously received special treatment when reported.
As White Collar Fraud noted last month;
The Certificate of Occupancy for 296 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn—issued January 26, 2001—clearly states the property is a five-family dwelling regulated under NYC housing laws. James purchased this property on February 14, 2001, just two weeks after this Certificate of Occupancy was issued. This official classification has been on the books for more than two decades.
Yet James repeatedly filed permit applications identifying the same property as a four-family dwelling—a classification subject to different regulatory requirements under New York City building codes. Under NYC building code classifications, her property with five units would be classified as C2 (which applies to buildings with 5+ units), while her filings list it as C3 (which applies to 3-4 unit buildings). This fundamental contradiction between the long-established Certificate of Occupancy and her permit applications raises serious questions about regulatory compliance.
“While this was a long time ago, it raises serious concerns about the validity of Ms. James representations on mortgage applications” wrote Pulte, attaching several documents showing James had purchased another property with her father as a co-signer, but falsely listed the pair as “husband and wife” in 1983 and 2000.
James also granted power of attorney to Shamice Thompson-Hairston, a relative, to sign an Aug. 17, 2023, document authorizing the purchase of the first property, according to WCF.
“Ms. James, for both properties listed above, appears to have falsified records in order to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms,” Pulte wrote, adding that James could be charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.
2. Prof. Turley: ‘This is really for James, the very case that she most famously brought. She insisted that these technicalities matter and that the powerful should not be given a free pass. Well, that bill has come due in this case… I’m honestly just not sure how you defend… pic.twitter.com/IsClqF9hm4

Using American Lawfare to Halt Israel Warfare in Gaza
The Vela Incident
INTRO BY GLOBAL AFFAIRS via The Liberty Beacon
On December 8, 2016, a CIA-funded panel of scientists determined that a flash detected by a U.S. Vela satellite over the South Atlantic on September 22, 1979, likely indicated a nuclear test jointly conducted by Israel and apartheid South Africa, as reported by the National Security Archive and the Nuclear Proliferation International History Project. A White House panel later disputed this, deeming the nuclear test theory improbable. However, in 1980, new evidence prompted a senior U.S. intelligence official to call the White House’s findings a ‘whitewash’ driven by politics.
The debate over the ‘September 22 Event’ persists, with speculation about Israel’s possible collaboration with apartheid South Africa for a nuclear test. Recent revelations from declassified documents by a U.S. representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Ambassador-at-Large, Gerard C. Smith, at the National Archives shed light on the Vela controversy and the U.S. government’s convenient response. In 1979, Israel engaged in actions aimed at concealing or eliminating evidence related to its detection of a nuclear test. Both Republican and Democratic administrations subsequently acquiesced to this situation, leading the U.S. government to maintain a façade of ignorance regarding the existence of Israeli nuclear weapons. Perhaps what is less known is the 1969 agreement, which was established between President Richard Nixon and Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, wherein Israel committed to refraining from declaring or testing its nuclear arsenal, while the United States agreed to avoid exerting pressure on Israel to endorse a significant nonproliferation treaty (NPT).
Today, Israel and the US are gaslighting the World by using the Iran Nuclear topic as a smokescreen to deflect the public’s attention from the atrocities of the Gaza genocide. For many years, presidents of the United States and congressional representatives have deliberately ignored Israel’s significant breaches of American legislation, however, there has hardly been a better time for using American lawfare to halt Israel’s warfare in Gaza and expose the hypocrisy surrounding Israel’s nuclear ambiguity strategy…

The Nuclear Explosion That Makes US Aid to Israel Illegal
Israel’s nuclear program has been in violation of international law for decades, rendering it ineligible for American assistance.
The researchers were startled as they looked up and saw the coal-black sky suddenly turn into a brilliant, multicolored aurora. As geophysicists with Tokyo’s Earthquake Research Institute, they were wintering over at an isolated ice station near Antarctica’s Queen Maud Land, a place where the temperature has dropped to as low as minus-50 degrees Fahrenheit. At about the same time, half the earth away in Puerto Rico, the giant 1,000-foot Arecibo radio telescope picked up an unusual disturbance. An odd and powerful electromagnetic ripple appeared on the lower surface of the ionosphere. And 1,200 miles to the north on the Atlantic coast of Florida, in a secret US government lab, long thin styluses like a spider’s legs began swinging back and forth tracing two hump-shaped images on a rolling sheet of graph paper.
The computer’s action was triggered by a signal from a satellite in the frigid blackness of deep space, 67,000 miles above Earth. Shaped like a giant, 26-sided Christmas tree ornament and hanging weightlessly in the empty void, VELA 6911 was one of a series of satellites designed to act as America’s sentinels in space, watching for signs of nuclear detonations on any part of the planet. And in the early morning of September 22, 1979, at 00:52:43 UTC, VELA 6911’s sensitive instruments recorded what appeared to be a very bright flash, followed quickly by a second.
They were the classic indicators of a powerful nuclear explosion. Somewhere down below, as close as someone can come to terra incognita, a rogue country had set off a nuclear bomb. A rogue country that was hoping not to get caught. It was the first and only time in history that a clandestine nuclear blast has taken place. And based on its analysis, US intelligence agencies concluded that the rogue country was Israel.
Now, 45 years later, that explosion could play a significant role in bringing an end to Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza by using American lawfare to halt Israeli warfare—finally enforcing US laws that would cut off all aid, including the billions and billions of dollars and the tons and tons of weapons Israel now receives. For decades, these laws, enacted by Congress to halt harmful and destructive actions by rogue actors, have been deliberately ignored with regard to Israel. Clearly, they must now be enforced.
Just this week, Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, issued a report titled, “Anatomy of a Genocide.” It declared that “there are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating the commission of the crime of genocide against Palestinians as a group in Gaza has been met.” A few days earlier, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights had warned that “any transfer of weapons or ammunition to Israel” could violate international humanitarian law. This week, a Gallup poll indicated that most Americans disapprove of Israel’s war in Gaza as well as of sending them military aid to fight it.
Hours after the sky lit up from the blast, confirmation that it was a nuclear explosion came from another US government facility, this one on remote Ascension Island. A bleak and rugged volcanic speck in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, it lies near the equator between Africa and South America and is one of the most secret places on the planet. No one is allowed on the island without the approval of the US and British governments. In addition to a massive British eavesdropping base that targets countries on both continents, the island is also home to an American facility that monitors all undersea activity throughout the Atlantic. And because, at a certain depth, hydroacoustic signals travel through the water at about 5,000 feet per second, the sound of the massive blast was detected about 110 minutes after it took place.
In the netherworld of US intelligence, the rogue atomic explosion was shocking. The Jimmy Carter White House was quickly notified, and, following a series of highly classified meetings, spy agencies became unanimous in their view. “The Intelligence Community has high confidence, after intense technical scrutiny of satellite data, that a low-yield atmospheric nuclear explosion occurred in the early morning hours of September 22,” said a Secret/Sensitive Department of State document.
Attention, as a result, turned immediately to Israel. Its nuclear facility in the desert at Dimona had long since ceased to be a secret, and the question wasn’t whether Israel could construct a nuclear weapon but how many it had already built. However, while constructing them secretly inside a building is one thing, secretly testing them out in the open without getting caught is much more difficult. Addressing the issue of “A Secret Test by Israel,” another CIA document outlined a number of reasons the state might have wanted to carry out a hidden nuclear test. Among them was “developing the fission trigger [an atom bomb] for a thermonuclear weapon [an hydrogen bomb]…. A low-yield nuclear test conducted clandestinely at sea could have enabled them to make basic measurements of the device’s performance.”
The report concluded, “Indeed, of all the countries which might have been responsible for the 22 September event, Israel would probably have been the only one for which a clandestine approach would have been virtually its only option.” And President Carter noted in his White House dairy at the time, “We have a growing belief among our scientists that the Israelis did indeed conduct a nuclear test explosion in the ocean near the southern end of Africa.”
The VELA satellite system was designed in particular to watch for rogue tests by nuclear pariah states like Israel, one of the very few countries that had refused to sign both the 1970 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the 1975 Biological Weapons Convention, in spite of the fact that it had an illegal hidden arsenal of nuclear weapons and a secret biological weapons program. The problem for Israel—and a key reason for the secrecy involving the tests—was the Glenn Amendment to the US Arms Export Control Act. Passed by Congress in 1977, the amendment aimed particularly at the nuclear pariah states. It mandated an end to arms assistance, and an automatic application of extensive US sanctions, if the president determined that any state (other than the nuclear states authorised by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) detonated a nuclear explosive after 1977. The nuclear test was also a clear violation of the 1963 Limited Test Ban Treaty, to which Israel was a party.
Under US law, Israel must be banned from receiving its annual package of billions of dollars and arsenal of bombs. In a 2016 Haaretz column, Victor Gilinsky, a physicist and former commissioner of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, laid out the penalties: “The sanctions for detonating a nuclear explosion are tough: termination of assistance under the Foreign Assistance Act, termination of sales of defense equipment and military financing, prohibition of loans from US banks, and more. In other words, if the U.S. government were to conclude Israel detonated a nuclear explosion after 1977, the law, unless waived, would effectively end all US aid to Israel.” Newell Highsmith, who spent three decades with the State Department and was responsible for legal issues related to nonproliferation, agrees. “Glenn Amendment sanctions for detonation or receipt of a nuclear explosive device have been viewed as a ‘death sentence’ because of the breadth of sanctions and because there is no presidential waiver,” he wrote last year for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
In addition to the violation of the Glenn Amendment, Israel is also in violation of the Symington Amendment, which has similar penalties for any country that delivers nuclear materials and technology to another country. Israel had a long history of friendship and cooperation with apartheid South Africa, and in addition to supplying millions of dollars worth of weapons to help violently suppress the country’s Black majority population, it also provided nuclear weapons materials and offered to sell the racist regime nuclear warheads to keep it in power. In return, Israel received uranium from South Africa to develop its weapons.
For decades, US presidents and members of Congress have willfully turned a blind eye to Israel’s extensive violations of American laws. [in 2024], Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen and seven other senators, including Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Jeff Merkley of Oregon, sent a strong letter to President Joe Biden. It urged him to enforce section 6201 of the Foreign Assistance Act by requiring Israel to stop restricting humanitarian aid access to Gaza or forfeit military aid from the US. The law prohibits the sale and transfer of military weapons to any nation that restricts the delivery of US aid, precisely what Israel is doing in its deliberate war of starvation against Palestinian civilians in Gaza. “We need the president and the Biden administration to push harder and to use all the levers of US policy to ensure people don’t die of starvation,” Van Hollen told The Guardian.
At the same time that US administrations were failing to enforce the ban on nuclear weapons testing by Israel, they also deliberately engaged in a campaign of censorship, lies, and disinformation to hide the truth from the American public. The Clinton White House even promulgated a regulation that threatens past and present government employees with harsh actions, including firing, if they publicly acknowledge that Israel has nuclear weapons. “All US government employees are forced to pretend they know nothing about Israeli nuclear weapons,” former NRC commissioner Gilinsky wrote in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. “Since everyone knows it’s not true, the pretense hobbles America’s policy on restraining the spread of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.”
Because of this official gag order, Americans are deliberately kept in the dark regarding the dangerousness of Israel’s illegal stockpile of nuclear weapons—weapons that have never been subject to international inspection and are therefore of questionable safety. And then there is the problem of that secret cache of nuclear weapons being controlled by a number of top Israeli officials whose extreme positions would sanction their use. Last November, Israeli Minister Amichai Eliyahu said one of Israel’s options in the war is to drop a nuclear bomb on Gaza. “That’s one way,” he said. Another Israeli official, Revital “Tally” Gotliv, urged her government to use “everything in its arsenal,” including “doomsday” weapons, against Hamas. “Who would have imagined that, just as we have been worrying about Pakistani weapons falling into the hands of Islamic fanatics, we would come to the point where we have to fear Israel’s nuclear weapons falling into the hands of Israeli fanatics?” said Gilinsky.
With hundreds of drone attacks in the region and missiles flying back and forth, there is also the danger of one of them deliberately or accidentally hitting Israel’s Dimona nuclear weapons plant and setting off a nuclear catastrophe. Last October, according to Israeli reports, “Incoming rocket sirens are sounding in the Southern Negev region, close to the southern city of Dimona.” Adding to the danger is more than half a century’s worth of volatile nuclear waste, numbering hundreds of tons, in shallow trenches at the nuclear weapons complex—material that, unless carefully disposed of, could turn Dimona into another Chernobyl.
Americans are being deliberately lied to by their own government as to Israel’s vast and deadly nuclear stockpile, largely built with nuclear materials stolen from the United States. For those on Capitol Hill and in the White House, the incentive for keeping Israel’s secret—and thus allowing it to avoid US laws—is money and power. Millions in campaign donations from wealthy pro-Israel supporters and PACs, and power from lobbies like AIPAC. In 1979, rather than take any actions against Israel, President Carter, like those in the White House before and after him, did nothing. Carter has acknowledged this in years since, writing that the “reluctance to criticize any policies of the Israeli government is because of the extraordinary lobbying efforts” of AIPAC.
The strength of AIPAC is something CNN’s Wolf Blitzer knows a great deal about. Before his gig with cable news, he was a top propagandist for AIPAC. There is, he noted, “a widely held attitude among Israeli officials that Israel can get away with the most outrageous things. There is a notion among many Israelis that their American counterparts are not too bright, that they can be ‘handled.’”
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders apparently agrees, having repeatedly warned that Israel is violating both international and US laws. “To pretend that Israel is not violating international law or interfering with US humanitarian aid is absurd on its face,” he said. “The State Department’s position makes a mockery of US law and assurances provided to Congress.” Nevertheless, he concluded that “relatively few Democrats are prepared to pull the trigger and say, ‘You know what, hey, Mr. Netanyahu. You continue that and you’re not getting another nickel in American aid.’ Why’s that so? I guess it has a lot to do with AIPAC.”
Sanders then pointed his finger at the White House. “And it’s a lot to do with the president,” he said. Indeed, Joe Biden, during his time in the Senate, was the number-one recipient in Congress of pro-Israel millions—which apparently put him at the top of Israel’s list of “not-too-bright American politicians” that can be “handled” with bags of cash. While vice president in 2011, Biden gave an address to a group of fundraisers and supporters of the Yeshiva Beth Yehuda school in Detroit. “I’ve raised more money from AIPAC than some of you have,” he said to applause. “You think I’m kidding, don’t you,” he added. “I’m not.”
For the White House and Congress, it’s time to rip off the gag, stop being “handled,” reject the cash, and enforce the law with Israel—including the Glenn and Symington amendments. If its leaders want to secretly explode nuclear weapons, sell nuclear materials to racist countries, violate treaties, commit war crimes, and engage in ethnic genocide, America’s billions, bombs, and backing should not be making it possible.

The Hidden Alliance: U.S. Presidents and Israel’s Nuclear Power
21WIRE
In his 2006 Senate confirmation hearings for the position of Secretary of Defense, former CIA Director Robert Gates remarked, while he was serving as a university president, that Iran is encircled by “nuclear-armed powers,” specifically mentioning “the Israelis to the west.” Additionally, former President Jimmy Carter has reiterated this point in both 2008 and 2014 during various interviews and speeches, where he estimated Israel’s nuclear arsenal to be between 150 and 300 warheads.
According to its own policy, Israel neither officially confirms nor denies that it has nuclear weapons. The Israeli strategy of ambiguity, known as ‘Amimut’, is understood as a means to safeguard both Israel and its nuclear program. According to Israeli sources, Amimut comprises two key components:
“(1) maintaining the confidentiality of its nuclear operations, which involves refraining from testing or publicly declaring the possession of nuclear weapons, and (2) enhancing its nuclear profile through strategic leaks, public statements, and speculation, alongside the dissemination of indirect evidence regarding its nuclear capabilities.”
Declassified US State Department documents show that by the end of the 1960s, Israel was nearing the achievement of its nuclear objectives, prompting the involvement of Kissinger and Nixon. A memorandum from the State Department to Kissinger in 1969 stated:
“Intelligence suggests that Israel is swiftly advancing its ability to manufacture and deploy nuclear weapons, with delivery methods including surface-to-surface missiles or aircraft.”

Reportedly, President Donald Trump has signed a confidential letter committing to refrain from pressuring Israel to give up its nuclear arsenal. The following featured 2018 report from the New Yorker indicates that Israel sought the approval of the nascent Trump administration for an agreement originally established between Prime Minister Golda Meir and President Richard Nixon. This understanding stipulated that Israel would refrain from declaring, testing, or threatening to utilise nuclear weapons in return for the United States not pressuring Israel to accede to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT).
Israel subsequently included a provision in the secret document stating that the Jewish state would “defend itself, by itself,” indicating that it did not depend on the US nuclear shield due to its own nuclear capabilities. Shockingly, Israel has managed to compel Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump to contravene the Symington and Glenn amendments of the U.S. Arms Export Control Act, which impose limitations on foreign assistance to other nations. As a result, Israel has been the recipient of substantial and most likely illegal foreign aid from the United States…

Adam Entous writes for The New Yorker...
How Trump and Three Other U.S. Presidents Protected Israel’s Worst-Kept Secret: Its Nuclear Arsenal
In 1969, President Richard Nixon and Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir reached an understanding: the Israelis would not declare or test their nuclear weapons, and the Americans would not pressure them to sign a landmark nonproliferation treaty.
When a delegation of senior Israeli officials visited the Trump White House on February 13, 2017, they wanted to discuss several issues with their new American counterparts. Topping the list was a secret letter concerning a subject the Israelis had promised the Americans never to discuss publicly—Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal. In a recent piece for The New Yorker, I described a tense scene in the West Wing as the Israeli delegation, which included Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, tried to get the letter signed by President Donald Trump. By all accounts, the American Administration was eager to please the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Trump had promised to lavish with unprecedented support. But at that chaotic moment, Trump’s aides felt blindsided by the Israeli request. They knew nothing about the existence of any letters and were confused by the sense of urgency coming from the Israelis. The Americans had other pressing concerns—later that day, Michael Flynn, the national-security adviser, would hand in his resignation letter—and they didn’t appreciate feeling as though the Israelis were telling them what to do.
“This is our fuckin’ house,” one of the Americans snapped
The White House’s reaction was understandable. There had been a similar moment of surprise eight years earlier, when Barack Obama became President and received a similar request. The very existence of the letters had been a closely held secret. Only a select group of senior American officials, in three previous Administrations, knew of the letters and how Israeli leaders interpreted them as effectively an American pledge not to press the Jewish state to give up its nuclear weapons so long as it continued to face existential threats in the region. (American officials say the letters weren’t that explicit and fell short of constituting a binding commitment.) When Trump’s aides moved into the White House, they didn’t find any copies of the previous letters left behind by their predecessors. The documents had been sent to the archives. The Israelis, however, had copies.
Israel crossed the nuclear threshold on the eve of the Six Day War, in 1967. At that time, it had three nuclear devices, according to Avner Cohen, a nuclear historian at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and the author of two books on the origins of Israel’s nuclear program. Israeli efforts to build a bomb at the nuclear complex in Dimona had been a source of tension with Washington for nearly a decade. But, by the fall of 1969, when Golda Meir, Israel’s Prime Minister, met with Richard Nixon at the White House, Israel’s possession of nuclear weapons was a fait accompli and the two sides reached an unwritten understanding: the Israelis would not declare, test, or threaten to use their nuclear weapons; and the Americans would not pressure the Israelis to sign a landmark international nuclear-nonproliferation treaty known as the N.P.T. (Israel never became a signatory and U.S. efforts to inspect Dimona stopped.)
Successive Israeli governments abided by the arrangement, which, in Hebrew, is referred to as “amimut,” which means opacity. In English, the arrangement is often referred to as Israel’s “policy of ambiguity.” A joint document describing the agreement was never prepared. Instead, each side relied on its own notes, a former official said. President Gerald Ford abided by Nixon’s deal. Israeli officials were concerned that Jimmy Carter would chart a different course, but the American position, through the Carter and Reagan Administrations, remained unchanged.
The Israelis first started to feel as though the unwritten Meir-Nixon arrangement was no longer sufficient during the Presidency of George H. W. Bush, when, after the first Gulf War, in 1991, world powers talked about the possibility of creating a zone in the Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear arms.
The first iteration of the secret letter was drafted during the Clinton Administration, as part of an agreement for Israel’s participation in the 1998 Wye River negotiations with the Palestinians. In the letter, according to former officials, President Bill Clinton assured the Jewish state that no future American arms-control initiative would “detract” from Israel’s “deterrent” capabilities, an oblique but clear reference to its nuclear arsenal. Later, Israeli officials inserted language to make clear to Washington that Israel would “defend itself, by itself,” and that it would, therefore, not consider the American nuclear arsenal to be a substitute for Israeli nuclear arms. George W. Bush, when he became President, followed Clinton’s lead, signing a similar letter, former officials told me.
Then, in 2009, a new President, Barack Obama, took office. From almost the start, Netanyahu was distrustful of Obama, and vice versa. “With Obama, we were all crazy,” an Israeli official told me. That April, Obama delivered an aspirational speech in Prague, setting out “America’s commitment to seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons.” Obama’s advisers subsequently learned “how paranoid Bibi was that Obama was going to try to take away Israel’s nuclear weapons,” a former U.S. official told me, adding, “Of course, that was never our intent.” Obama signed an updated version of the letter in May, 2009.
While Israeli officials interpreted the letters as an effective commitment by successive American Presidents not to pressure Israel regarding its nuclear arsenal, U.S. officials told me that they viewed the letters as less categorical. “It was not a blanket ‘We’ll never ask Israel to give up its nuclear weapons.’ It was more, ‘We accepted the Israeli argument that they’re not going to disarm under current conditions in the Middle East,” a former U.S. official told me. Avner Cohen, the Middlebury Institute historian, said that U.S. Administrations have been reluctant to give up entirely on the possibility of ridding the region of nuclear weapons if Israel were to reach a comprehensive peace agreement with its neighbors, including Iran.
Ahead of a nonproliferation conference in 2010, Netanyahu became concerned, once again, that Israel could come under international pressure to disarm. In response, Obama made a public statement that echoed the contents of the secret letters, without revealing their existence. “We discussed issues that arose out of the nuclear-nonproliferation conference,” Obama said, after meeting with Netanyahu on July 6, 2010. “And I reiterated to the Prime Minister that there is no change in U.S. policy when it comes to these issues. We strongly believe that, given its size, its history, the region that it’s in, and the threats that are levelled against . . . it, that Israel has unique security requirements. It’s got to be able to respond to threats or any combination of threats in the region. And that’s why we remain unwavering in our commitment to Israel’s security. And the United States will never ask Israel to take any steps that would undermine their security interests.”
The tense scene in the West Wing over the letter came on the heels of a particularly chaotic transition, from Obama to Trump. Their advisers distrusted one another, and it is unclear if they ever discussed the Israeli letters before the Inauguration. So when Ambassador Dermer came to the White House to talk to Michael Flynn about arranging for Trump to sign the letter, Trump’s aides were confused and, initially, said that they needed more time. U.S. officials said that the Israelis wanted to limit who could take part in discussions of the letter, citing the need for secrecy. The Americans pushed back. Afterwards, senior White House officials huddled together and complained to each other that Dermer had acted as though he owned the White House. Dermer declined to comment on the letter and told me that he does not recall any cursing. Flynn was ousted that night. Later, Trump signed the letter, becoming the fourth U.S. President to do so.
Like Obama’s advisers, Trump’s aides were baffled by the importance that Netanyahu placed on getting the letters signed so quickly. Cohen said that the issue is central for Netanyahu because the nuclear arsenal fuels his “sense of impunity, sense of Israel being so powerful, that it can dictate its own terms in the region and beyond.”

“American Hustlers” hosts Kim Kantner and Julie Golden join podcast contributor Tyson Wrensch to talk about the wild story behind their podcast — and put their true crime knowledge to the test.
“American Hustlers” podcast follows two gay con artists, Kaushal Nuroula and Danny Garcia, who committed crimes from San Francisco to Hawaii to Mexico, each one more unbelievable than the last. They were tracked for years by Tyson Wrench, a citizen detective who vowed to bring them to justice after they emptied his bank accounts. Kaushal and Danny masqueraded as real estate moguls, art dealers, bankers, and even royalty – taking advantage of corruption and weaknesses in the American business structure – the banking system, academia, immigration laws, the private fine-art market, and more. They even conned each other. They were never pursued by law enforcement for their crimes until they committed the one crime they couldn’t con their way out of: murder.

In the midst of so much technological and social change this century, it is strange to remember that there are a couple hundred ancient tribes on Earth that have maintained unique cultures by isolating from the rest of the world. They know nothing of President Trump, European war, McDonald’s, or K-pop. They aren’t arguing over digital IDs, carbon rationing, personal pronouns, tariffs, China’s intellectual property theft, or Ukraine’s borders. To the best that we can tell, their societies operate as they have for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
For much of the last five hundred years, explorers and settlers did not particularly worry about preserving the indigenous cultures with which they came into contact. On the contrary, most felt they had a moral duty to spread their own civilizational values around the world. It was only after we had assimilated nearly every hidden tribe on the planet that we began to ask questions and pull back. Over the last forty years, prevailing opinion has held that by forcing “modernity” upon isolated peoples, we not only risk deleting distinct cultures, but also risk deleting valuable parts of our shared human story.
Needless to say, nobody is advocating today that multiculturalism should take precedence over these ancient tribes’ self-determination. In fact, nations go to great lengths to respect hidden peoples’ sovereignty. Every once in a while, some “outsider” is killed after getting too close to one of these groups, yet no punitive measures are undertaken in response. Authorities in Brazil, Bolivia, India, and Indonesia use such incidents as stark warnings to keep misguided visitors away.
For decades, proponents of globalism have torn down national borders, mocked the moral tenets of certain religions, and dismissed the concerns of communities that would rather maintain their own traditional values. Many of the same international institutions that protect Amazonian tribes from outside contact are outright hostile to the special cultures that bind citizens of unique nation-states. The European Union imposes its values upon Hungarian, Polish, and Italian natives. In many parts of the West, prosecutors target Christians who work to save unborn children from abortion procedures. When Democrats control the federal government, they relocate huge numbers of foreign migrants into small towns throughout the United States. Government agents do not attempt to understand local beliefs, and they certainly do not ask permission from local residents before upending their lives. “Outsiders” who see themselves as wise and all-knowing marginalize anyone who gets in their way.
Kind of makes you wonder whether one of Klaus Schwab’s regal successors in the World Economic Forum’s expanding technocratic dynasty will decree a few centuries from now that some small tribe in Kansas, Missouri, or Tennessee should be protected from outside influence in an effort to safeguard the otherwise lost knowledge of Plato, Augustine, Aquinas, Shakespeare, Locke, or Jefferson. Maybe Christians will continue to be persecuted and killed around the world until some future do-gooding globalist convinces the aristocrats at the United Nations that a small tribe of Christ’s followers should be “allowed” to continue practicing their “exotic” faith. Perhaps Western civilization must first be demolished before cynical globalists take an anthropological interest in its numerous achievements. Maybe adventurous explorers a half-millennium from now will hike to the outskirts of American “free zones” where the natives are rumored to have original ideas, write new books, and question A.I.-generated beliefs. Perhaps those free peoples will have the good sense to raise their weapons and chase colonizing globalists far away.
Language is a sneaky beast. It allows us to categorize every detail we see, yet it reduces the infinitude of our observations to mere words. Phrases can be beautiful or ugly. Sentences can quicken heartbeats or steal breaths. Speeches can move listeners to their feet or reduce them to tears. The duality of language — its capacity to unleash great and terrible things — makes it both a blessing and a curse.
Globalism is a secular religion that specializes in the manipulation of language. It does not seek to explain the world truthfully, but rather to condition people to believe whatever its ecumenical priests need them to believe. It does not persuade, but conquers. It oppresses. And because its allegiance is not to truth, but to power, it revels in inconsistency.
The globalists have lectured us about the contradictory threats of “global cooling” and “global warming” for half a century — never humbled by their false predictions but always certain that new regulations and taxes are the answer. The globalists told us that the Soviet Union’s empire was bad and that national self-determination was good; now they tell us that the European Union’s empire is good and that national self-determination is bad. The globalists argued that WWII was necessary to preserve Western civilization and defend Europe from foreign invaders; now they argue that Western civilization should be destroyed and that native Europeans should be replaced with foreigners. When we started fighting wars on “terror” decades ago, all our enemies were overseas; now globalists insist that homegrown “terrorists” are the real “threat.” Globalists told us that the U.S.-backed ousting of Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych in 2014 was not a violent insurrection against a legitimately elected government but rather a “Revolution of Dignity.” Those same globalists told us that unarmed Americans protesting election fraud at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, were part of an “insurrection” attempting to “overthrow” the federal government!
Globalism is not a coherent worldview. It is the malleable sludge of incompatible priorities that change from one decade to the next — depending upon where the most power can be accrued and where the most money can be made. Its chief quality is hypocrisy. It stands for no greater principle than the preservation and enrichment of its most ardent defenders.
Globalism is a religion of buzzwords. It claims to protect free speech — so long as that speech is free of “mis-,” “mal-,” or “dis-information.” It claims to protect public debate and political dissent — so long as citizens say nothing that globalists deem “hateful.” It claims to protect freedom of thought and freedom of religion — so long as those thoughts and prayers aren’t too “extreme.” It claims to protect women — so long as delusional men wearing lipstick are considered “women,” too. It claims to protect democracy — so long as “democracy” is understood as the permanent E.U., U.K., and U.S. bureaucracies doing whatever they want with total disregard for the will of the voters they purportedly “serve.”
Globalists are excellent at defending “freedom” because they have simply redefined the word to mean, “the public’s right to do exactly what government agents demand.” What Western globalists learned from WWII is straightforward: if you want to expand the power of government and reduce the people to timid serfs, fighting a war is unnecessary and expensive. It is much cheaper just to relabel totalitarianism as “democracy.” With the right buzzword and enough propagandists in the press, globalists can con the people into demanding their own oppression. As I said, language is a sneaky beast!
It certainly is ironic that the same “woke” globalists who love to denounce imperialism are busy turning towns, states, and entire nations into obedient colonies. Globalist conquistadors arrive under the guise of peace. They offer paper fiat currencies in exchange for real gold. They promise military protection so long as citizens hand over weapons for self-defense. They encourage local populations to take down their national flags and replace them with “gay pride,” NATO, Ukraine, or “Black Lives Matter” flags instead. They send out “climate change” missionaries to evangelize those who don’t yet fear “fossil fuels.”
Our surviving indigenous friends learned an important lesson: when globalists arrive, toss their glass beads, burn their ships, run away, and never look back. Perhaps we should follow their example.
In this episode of “True Crime News,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Henry Chapman pulled Moncre Moon over and arrested him on an outstanding warrant, but it was Officer Chapman who ended up behind bars. Plus, just days after his wedding, Cody Johnson went missing. Investigators later learned his new bride, Jordan Graham, pushed him over a cliff at Glacier National Park, causing him to plummet over 300 feet to his death.
Yes, the April 2 Liberation Day announcement was poorly handled. Yes, there is an unfitting dishonesty in painting trade deficits as an economic problem.
Hopefully, important lessons were learned here, most especially that taxing trade deficits is not the correct instrument to grow reciprocal trade. In addition, President Trump’s emergency power to set tariffs reaches only so far. For stable, long-term commitments, the optimal tariff regime is a job committed by the Constitution to Congress. No reason to swap first principles for expediency.
Now for the good news.
For those who like inside baseball, Peter Navarro is in way over his head. He wrongly favors permanent tariffs. In an unforgivable error, the April 2 tariffs were overstated by a factor of four due to misapplication of the underlying economic formula. He will be sidelined in favor of much sounder advisers, especially Treasury secretary Bessent, who has emerged as the best trade adviser.
For the rest of us, the key news is that economic growth may slow, but not nearly as much as initially feared. Not only are alarmists likely to be proven wrong about a 2025 recession, but look for overall U.S. GDP to hit 1.5–2.0% in 2025 and rise thereafter.
Relatedly, the Democrats’ wish for a market meltdown will not be realized. At its maximum, on the April 2 schedule, the tariffs approximated a $10-trillion after-tax perpetuity cost to the U.S. At the newly paused rates, tariffs are roughly two thirds lower than initially announced, or 10% versus an estimated 30% average tariff rate on April 2. That brings the expected cost down to $3 trillion.
But even that estimate is too high. Many if not most countries will make material concessions in exchange for no tariffs. How ironic if President Trump does more for free trade than achieved by any free-trader in U.S. history.
In any event, the tariff regime negotiated under President Trump’s emergency powers will ultimately be superseded, or codified, by Congress and hence will not last in perpetuity as a cost. Tariff costs will be offset over time by increased U.S. investment and expanded exports. And from a stock market perspective, the tax will be shared between importers and consumers, further limiting its impact on equities.
In all, the tariffs regime will likely have a present value cost of less than $1 trillion. That compares to the market value of all U.S. equities at the beginning of 2025 approximating $62 trillion.
Geopolitically, in place of a global trade war, President Trump has refocused exactly where we need to be: a cold war with China. Trump has majority support from all Americans to take on China. It unites Trump voters and expands the Republican base materially going forward.
Notwithstanding congressional power over imports and exports, the president has unique responsibility for foreign affairs and the defense of the United States. That applies most directly to China. The extraordinary tariffs imposed on China are constitutionally justified as the proper exercise of presidential powers.
Individual companies that rely on China for parts and supplies that cannot be sourced elsewhere will be harmed. Consumers may not see items they have come to expect. In the past two years, Dollar General’s stock has declined from $220 to $88. And critical shortages could occur tied to rare earth metals, pharmaceuticals, health care, and key technology markets. So yes, it will be challenging. It will produce shock headlines. But over time, both countries will adapt.
In 2000, China exported $100 billion of goods to the U.S., growing to a peak of $539 billion in 2018 and falling to $439 billion in 2024. As companies accelerate their exit from China, imports to the U.S. will drop significantly over the next several years, perhaps to the $200 billion range. China can manage, as the U.S. currently represents only 15% of exports. The U.S. can manage, as Chinese imports, while significant, are immaterial to a $30-trillion economy and too small to be a systematic inflation risk, notwithstanding widespread hand-wringing to the contrary.
The 90-day pause will work out great. This is best understood by examining a specific country, Vietnam, and a specific good, footwear.
The U.S. consumes approximately 2 billion pair of shoes annually, or approximately 6 pairs of shoes per capita, of which some 1.8 billion pairs are made overseas ($21 billion in revenue) and 0.2 billion pairs ($2 billion in revenue) domestically. Some 90% of overseas production comes from 4 countries: China (1.1B pairs), Vietnam (357M), Indonesia (112M), and Cambodia (60M).
Vietnam has been hit unexpectedly hard by the tariffs, at 46%. For perspective, Vietnam GDP approximates $500 billion, of which it exports $137 billion to the U.S., especially communications equipment and footwear. Vietnam cannot afford such a monstrous hit to its export-dependent economy. Nor is Vietnam taking advantage of the United States. To the contrary, it has built the complex infrastructure, labor, and capital to produce top-quality footwear, at the demanding performance standards, cost, and health and welfare demanded by the likes of Nike and Adidas.
In anticipation, Vietnam has been in steady communication with the Trump administration, proactively promising to drop all tariffs while encouraging more U.S. purchases. It will also need to end Chinese transshipments. On April 4, Trump posted on Truth Social that he held a “very productive call” with head of state, To Lam, and was looking forward to another meeting “in the near future.”
So what will happen in footwear? Over time, production will and should move from China. Vietnam will be the major beneficiary, along with its Southeast Asian neighbors. If Nike and other importers are wise, they will announce new U.S. plants. Vietnam will eliminate all tariffs on U.S. goods and increase its auto and equipment purchases from the U.S. In exchange, Trump will sharply lower tariffs on Vietnam, hopefully to zero. Separately, U.S. shoe production will rise, and Nike will do just fine. Look for similar results across most of the 70 countries now in direct negotiations.
Finally, perhaps the best news is the return of focus to all that President Trump is accomplishing: a profoundly sane energy policy, sealing the border, re-establishing control over the administrative state, systematically identifying fraud and abuse and corruption, promoting safe elections, returning education to state and local government, eliminating DIE, abolishing USAID, withholding funds from universities. The list goes on — or, as justly said, promises made, promises kept.
There is, however, one problem that is not going away: out-of-control spending and the spiraling U.S debt. Legal challenges are thwarting every advance. It will take the Supreme Court years to sort out the ability of the president to reshape spending. In the end, Congress is the only party that can cut spending permanently to save this country. Democrats refuse to allow even the most sensible savings, and, sad to say, the current Republican Senate barely seems up to the task. Ultimately, this country needs a filibuster-proof majority to eliminate $2 trillion in annual spending and solve the entitlement crisis.
There will be dislocations due to the President Trump’s stand against China. But the reset is long overdue, vital to U.S. national security interests, and well worth the cost of a restructured relationship. Iran must give up its nuclear arsenal, by agreement or force. Taiwan remains a concern. And inevitably there will be some turbulence in the economy.
But tariffs are not an issue. Ignore the legacy media. Ignore the Democrats. Let the stock market gyrate. It will head upward over time.
ER Editor: A few days ago we published a report by Vanessa Beeley on the decades-long phenomenon of institutionalized child abuse, rape and pedophilia in Israeli society. This was based on an original report in Hebrew by Na’am Barkan for the Israel Hayom site.
None of the victims were named by Barkan or Beeley. However, one victim has voluntarily come forward through social media, Soshana Strock, daughter of Orit Strock/Strook, the Israeli Minister for Settlements according to Wikipedia, who is a member of a religious Zionist party.
Here is Beeley’s piece with no victims named. We recommend our introduction to this piece, which highlights the Satanic nature of some of the abusive events being reported —

Wikipedia has this update under its entry for Orit Strook —
Controversies
In April 2025, one of Strook’s daughters, Shoshana, filed a police complaint in Italy accusing both of her parents and a brother of sexually abusing her when she was a child.[5] Later she returned to Israel and also filed a complaint with Israeli Police. The investigation by Lahav 433 Anti-Corruption Unit was subject to a gag order, and therefore Israeli news outlets were prohibited from publishing further details or even mentioning that the charges are against Minister Strook.[6] Shoshana Strook alleged that both parents filmed what she called ″sexual rituals″, exploiting her and offering the videos as child pornography.[7]
Few media sites have picked up the story, but a Yandex search produces some results. We are republishing PressTV’s report below. Turkish site Andalou Agency (browsers will translate) has also picked up the story, indicating that Israelis have been informed of allegations against their Minister of Settlements via The Times of Israel, but it has issued a publication ban on the details of the case.

Israel’s hawkish minister, husband accused of sexual abuse by daughter
PRESSTV
.
A hawkish Israeli minister known for her extreme right-wing politics and support for illegal settlements is facing serious allegations of sexual abuse by her daughter.
Shoshana Strook, the daughter of Israeli minister of settlements Orit Strook, filed a police complaint in Italy alleging sexual assault by both of her parents and a brother.
Shoshana’s mother, Orit Strook — the minister of settlements — is a staunch supporter of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
.
She stated that resurfacing memories prompted her decision to report the abuse, which she hopes will help her heal from emotional trauma.
She made the allegations in a statement posted on social media, revealing that she had filed a formal complaint and was seeking justice and relief.
“I’m currently in Italy and recently filed a report with the police,” she said. “I hope to find a place where I can get some relief.”
“After a long period of doubt, extreme emotional states, and a lot of guilt, I wanted to share that I experienced sexual abuse by both of my parents and one of my brothers,” Shoshana wrote.
She also said that her parents physically harmed her three younger brothers, stating: “After years of beatings and guilt, I finally spoke out. The memories are overwhelming, but I need justice.”
Shoshana also said that the memories coming up to her lately are “becoming too overwhelming”, recalling one in which she hit three of her younger brothers.
She didn’t reveal which brother sexually assaulted her. However, one of her brothers, Zviki Strook, has been reportedly charged with kidnapping and torturing a Palestinian boy in 2007.
Shoshana’s mother, Orit Strook, is a staunch supporter of Israel’s settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Ironically, Orit relentlessly pushed prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s baseless narratives and unsubstantiated claims that Palestinian resistance group Hamas committed sexual assault on October 7, 2023.

She now faces grave allegations of having abused her own children.
The Strook family has been in the spotlight before. In 2007, Orit’s son, Zviki Strook, was reportedly charged with kidnapping and torturing a Palestinian minor.
The Palestinian boy was found severely beaten and bleeding after escaping an alleged torture session.
Orit was born into a Jewish family of Hungarian lawyers. She married Avraham Strook and the couple chose to live in illegal settlements on Palestinian land.
Their first home was in the settlement of Yamit in the Sinai Peninsula. However, following the 1982 evacuation of Yamit after the Sinai was returned to Egypt in 1979, the Strook family relocated to the occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil—again, settling illegally.
Since 2013, she has continued to live in the Avraham Avinu settlement in al-Khalil.
In 2024, Orit stated that Israel should maintain a “long-term military presence in Gaza and annex the occupied West Bank”. She also argued that there should be no exit strategy from Gaza.
Orit made headlines after posting a video to her X account from a Knesset session in which she argued that a Palestinian state would be an “existential threat” to Israel.”
In May 2024, she opposed a proposed ceasefire agreement in Israel’s war on Gaza. Orit also criticized the United States for its efforts to broker a ceasefire deal, stating that the US “doesn’t deserve to be called a friend of Israel.”

When President Donald J. Trump ordered State Department employees to snitch on co-workers engendering anti-Christion bias, Democrat lawmakers and civil liberties groups like the ACLU decried the move as a bigoted assault on religious freedom, an attack on Muslim and LGBQT+ workers at State offices and US embassies worldwide.
Exposing subversive behavior and internal threats is a noble goal. The President, though, also aims to rid the federal government of an equally invasive menace: A scourge of satanic malefactors that began infesting the department under Obama’s reign of terror and multiplied exponentially during Biden’s illegal takeover of the federal government.
In February, POTUS signed an executive order to end “the anti-Christian weaponization of government,” (ER: see alsothis link) and last week Marco Rubio sent out a departmentwide cable instructing State Department personnel to anonymously report instances of “anti-Christian bias.”
Although the cable does not explicitly mention satanism, a State Department source speaking under the promise of anonymity told Real Raw News that satanic worship is definitionally anti-Christian.
“President Trump found out thousands of State Department people practiced satanism publicly and privately—even in the workplace. He has eyes and ears everywhere. A bunch of them are gone; they got caught up in DOGE’s firings, but President Trump knows a lot are still hanging around. And it goes without saying that Satanists don’t like President Trump very much,” our source said.
He recounted examples of satanic comportment he had observed while working at the US embassy in Berlin in 2022. A group of staffers loitering around a watercooler openly discussed their interpretations of Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead, a malevolent tome whose pages are filled with vicious secrets, dark tidings, and demonic incantations, and which alludes to the diabolic legend of Beelzebub, “Lord of the Flies,” a wicked deity to whom numerous now-dead Deep Staters—as we’ve reported in the past—swore everlasting fealty. Our source said some employees unashamedly had copies of the Necronomicon displayed conspicuously on their desks, often to pages with their favorite spells highlighted in yellow ink.
“They thought reciting passages would earn them promotions, better assignments, more money, that sort of thing. And they’d try to recruit others to read it, too. I was among those others, and I told them off. I raised my concern to my boss at the time, and can you guess what he told me? He said Necronomicon was approved reading if it didn’t affect job performance,” our source said.
In July 2024, our source was suddenly reassigned to the US embassy in Albania. He told RRN he felt the “unfavorable” reassignment was retaliatory—punishment for continually denouncing demonism in the Berlin office.
“Pack your shit, you’re on the next flight to Albania, that’s what I was told,” he said. “I can’t say if it’s coincidence or not, but this happened the day after Kamala Harris replaced Biden.”
But even the remote office in Triana, Albania—home to only nine State Department personnel—was no sanctuary from the pervasive spread of satanism. Two days following his arrival, he was asked to participate in a “sacred ritual” that involved burning a life-size effigy of Donald Trump.
“As it was told to me, it would summon an avatar of Mephistopheles, who would stop Trump’s 2024 presidential bid. I didn’t join in, and three weeks later, I was back in Washington,” the source said.
“Thank God almighty that Trump won and that I still had my job,” our source added. “I know I’m not the only God-fearing person they tried to indoctrinate. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who shared what I know with the administration.”
In closing, he said he believes countless evildoers still lurk within the State Department and that many are pretending to be MAGA to conceal their satanic allegiance.
“I’ve talked to Secretary of State Rubio’s staff, and I know the president’s EO is geared toward exposing and firing all these devil worshipers,” he said.
