  • Rival Schools Gala Fighting Pass announced for Street Fighter 6

We knew there was a Street Fighter 6 update coming today, which led to the hope that we’d finally see Elena, but that turned out to not be the case.

Capcom just announced the Rival Schools Gala Fighting Pass for Street Fighter 6.

As the name suggests, the new pass is focused on Capcom’s overlooked Rival Schools series, which takes place in the same world as Street Fighter.

Players can get ahold of a school uniform with a giant pompadour as part of the premium rewards, but that’s not all.

Akira Kazama’s motorcycle helmet is also up for grabs to dress up your avatar, which may decrease her chances of showing up in SF6 after she was made playable in the final season of Street Fighter 5.

As we’ve seen in previous passes, the Rival Schools affair will also include new stickers, photo frames, emotes, titles, a challenger screen and more.

Three tracks from Rival Schools are also being added to the music selection in the game for those who unlock them.

The classic game of the month seems to be Warriors of Fate.

This new Fighting Pass will be available for around three weeks following tonight’s Street Fighter 6 server maintenance.

Rival Schools’ sequel Project Justice is heavily featured in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2, so it’s a timely tie-in with the compilation coming in May.

It seems we’ll be waiting until May for the Elena Arrives Fighting Pass after all.

You can check out the new trailer for Street Fighter 6 below.

  • Today’s Wordle Hints, Answer for #1382 on April 1, 2025

NYT Wordle is a satisfying and tricky test of vocabulary and logic that challenges players to guess a new five-letter word every day. However, things can get a little too challenging at times, and that probably explains why you’re here. So, if you don’t want to break your word-guessing streak or get too frustrated, take a look at today’s Wordle hints and answer for puzzle #1382 for April 1, 2025, down below!

    How to Play Wordle

Wordle is a word puzzle game by The New York Times. You are given six attempts to guess a five-letter word. The letters are highlighted in Yellow, Green, and Grey when you input a word. Yellow denotes that the letter appears in today’s Wordle answer, but it’s not at the right spot. Meanwhile, when a letter turns green, it means you have guessed the right letter in the right position. At last, a grey letter means the letter is not part of today’s answer.

While it may seem that winning at Wordle is easy, it is difficult to get that pesky five-letter word right. To help you out, here are some quick tips on how to play Wordle:

    • Open with a strong word – Using the right Wordle starting words rich with multiple vowels and consonants is important. While you can take a look at our dedicated guide, starting words like AISLE, SALTY, and DINER are my go-to choices.
    • Pay attention to colors – Keep track of the yellow, green, and grayed-out letters to eliminate incorrect positions and letters. To make every guess count, avoid accidentally repeating letters that have already been eliminated.
    • Isolate the vowels – There can be days when your usual starting words don’t help much. In that case, try to test the remaining vowels by using different words.
    • Repeating letters is good – Don’t be afraid of repeating letters as history is proof that there are chances the Wordle answer will have one or two letters that repeat themselves.
    • Use the Wordlebot – As described above, NYT’s Wordlebot is an intuitive bot that analyzes your responses and compares them against itself. Instilling some healthy competition can help you improve your own Wordle guessing and see what you could have done better.

Meaning of Jewel — A precious stone or ornament, such as diamonds, rubies, etc.

In all honesty, the NYT Wordle for March 31 was more of an April Fool’s game than today’s was. I overthought the entire round, waiting for a decent surprise. SALTY gave me a yellow L while DINER gave me an E in the green. POUCH was a disappointment today, and surprisingly, TOWEL stole the spotlight, with the W, E, and L turning green. That led me to use JEWEL, which turned out to be the Wordle answer for the day. Challenging and fun? Not so much.

Thankfully, it’s easy getting started with NYT Connections. This word association game spreads 16 random words across a 4 x 4 grid. Players must find well, connections among these words and divide them across four categories, colored yellow, green, blue, and purple, based on difficulty.

Connections Hint Today for April 1, 2025

As mentioned above, the NYT Connections puzzle has four different categories that are divided into color-coded difficulties. From Yellow category being the easiest to the hardest Purple one, the game can quickly become difficult if you’re unprepared.

To make your life even easier, here are the NYT Connections hints for today’s categories:

    • Yellow Category – All referring to a particular direction
    • Green Category – You spend this
    • Blue Category – Some things just go together
    • Purple Category – We use these in chats

The Connections categories today are an interesting mix of themes, which might get a bit difficult for us all. That said, here are the NYT Connections categories for Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

    • Yellow – “RIGHT”
    • Green – CURRENCY SYMBOLS
    • Blue – AND/TOGETHER WITH
    • Purple – EMOTICON MOUTHS

Do you finally see where each word should go? No? Then, keep scrolling to see the NYT Connections answers for today.

    Today’s Connections Answers for April 1, 2025

The answers for Connections today, on April 1, 2025, are:

    • “RIGHT” – R, →, ⊾,

The NYT Connections today was supposed to be difficult (April Fools’, I guess), but ended up being an easy 2 out of 5 for me. I amazingly began with the Purple category first, and honestly, this should have been the Yellow one. Nonetheless, the latter followed with an even easier grouping.

The Green category caused me some trouble since I didn’t know where to place N and X. Thankfully, I ended up getting it. I finally combined the last four words to get the Blue category and the NYT Connections for April 1.

How to Play Connections: Tips & Tricks to Solve the Puzzle

Given the fact you’re here, chances are that you already know how to play NYT Connections. As you might be able to tell by now, Connections by The New York Times is a word association game where players sort out 16 random words into four categories by finding a common ‘connection.’ This can be anything from a common sound to a deeper meaning.

That said, if you’re still confused, here are the best tips on how to play NYT Connections:

    • Simplicity is key: Connections will often throw ambiguous words at you. While it’s easy to get caught up in the details, the answer almost always lies in the simplest connections possible. So, instead of dear and deer being connected through a hunter-prey dynamic, they most likely connect because of a similar sound.
    • Watch those guesses: A key thing to note is Connections only gives you four chances in 24 hours for a single puzzle. As such, we advise not being trigger happy and carefully weighing in your words before pressing that submit button.
    • Shuffle Away: While a bit tricky, the sneaky Connections editor deliberately puts the first word placement as a misdirection. So the one golden tip here is to press that Shuffle button before you go on solving it.

If you’re still unsure how to proceed, check out our dedicated how-to-play NYT Connections guide for all the help you need.

We hope you had similar luck as I did for today’s game. If not, please let us know in the comments below!

What are the NYT Connections answers for March 31, 2025?

The Connections categories for March 31 are Yellow: Consumed, Green: Also, Blue: ATM Options, and Purple:_ _ _ Play. For in-depth answers, check out our Connections hints and answers for March 31.

How to play past Connections games?

Thankfully, it’s very easy to play old NYT Connections games. Simply head to the Connections archives and pick any date you wish to replay!

What is the hardest Connections category?

The Purple category is without a doubt the hardest NYT Connections category to solve. You have been warned!

Can I play NYT Connections for free?

Yes, you indeed can, as NYT Connections is a fully free game.

  • Today may finally be the day to see Elena in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 players have known the full contents of the game’s Year 2 Character Pass since June last year, and we’ve almost reached the finish line for it — but not quite yet.

Elena has yet to make an appearance as the last Season 2 character, but that could be changing today.

Capcom is putting SF6 under server maintenance later today, March 31, starting at 8 p.m. PDT for around four hours.

This presumably signifies the launch of a new Fighting Pass for SF6, but Capcom suspiciously hasn’t revealed what that is just yet.

That could very well point to it being the Elena Arrives pass that the developers put out for the launch of every new character for SF6 though we can’t say for sure just yet obviously.

If the fighting pass is indeed for Elena, we could be getting her teaser trailer tonight and / or a showcase for the fighting pass.

This would match up with our previous prediction from last week that Elena would be revealed very soon given the tight release window they have to work with.

Capcom will presumably release Elena and the Season 3 update before Evo Japan 2025 starting on May 9, and even if they wait until after, the Capcom Pro Tour calendar doesn’t clear up for them either.

Combo Breaker 2025 is also taking place towards the end of May on the CPT, so there’s only a few windows remaining that Capcom could release Elena in.

And we’ll hopefully be learning more about that very shortly now.

But if the Fighting Pass is for something else, it likely means we’ll be waiting until at least May for Elena.

    What is NYT Strands?

NYT Strands is a word game created by The New York Times as part of its growing “Games” library. The aim of this New York Times game is to connect letters in a six-by-eight grid to form a bunch of words that share the same theme.

To get you started, the puzzle will give you a theme for today’s NYT Strands. You can use it to form multiple “theme” words which will be relevant to this theme, along with one “special” word called the Spangram. This is a word or phrase that spans the length of the grid, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, giving you the key to crack the rest of the Strands theme words.

The theme for today’s Strands can be relevant in many different ways. So, the puzzle keeps you on your toes every day with its intriguing set of theme words and Spangrams.

Do you also happen to play NYT Connections daily? If so, you can check out Wordle hints for April 1 and Connections hints for April 1 for answers and step-by-step guides to these puzzles.

What is NYT Strands Spangram and How Does It Work?

Every NYT Strands puzzle consists of a unique word or phrase that’s called the Spangram. This word or set of words will run the length of two opposite sides of the grid. One thing to note here is that, a Spangram doesn’t necessarily have to originate or end at the edge of the grid.

In its essence, the Spangram is kind of like a bigger hint that sums up today’s Strands theme in just a word or two. Since it spans across two sides of the puzzle, solving it early helps you figure out the rest of the theme words and vice versa.

Tips and Strategies for Mastering NYT Strands Puzzle

Solving an NYT Strands puzzle successfully isn’t that hard in itself, but in some cases, the approach might not be as straightforward as it looks. So, here are simple tips and tricks that we suggest you follow to crack the theme words and Spangram for Strands puzzles:

    • Always start at the corners: No two puzzles are the same. But the chances of the Spangram extending to a diagonal form are quite low. So, the best strategy is to find and decrypt relevant words that are at the corners of the grid.
    • Don’t be ashamed to get hints: Sometimes, a theme word could be all you need to solve the entire puzzle. If that requires getting a hint using non-theme words, then that’s the first thing you should do. After all, the point is to have fun and figure this out, like all of us.
    • Think both literally and figuratively: Not all themes may land you in the same sense of thought. Some puzzles may welcome more clever answers that may convey something totally different from their actual meaning.
    • Aim for the Spangram: The Spangram is what splits the Strands board in half. So, figuring it out will help you cross out other potential approaches for a theme. Deciphering even half of the Spangram can get you close to the rest of the answers.

  • Trump, Musk, and the DOGE Dilemma: Samsung May Lose Billions

Reports indicate that Samsung could lose access to billions in U.S. semiconductor subsidies due to staffing cuts in the CHIPS Program Office under President Donald Trump’s administration. The office, which oversees subsidy payments under the CHIPS and Science Act, has reportedly seen most of its staff removed by Elon Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency). This move raises concerns about delays or cancellations of critical funding for major chipmakers like Samsung, potentially disrupting U.S. semiconductor supply chain investments.

Trump Wants to End the CHIPS Act

President Trump has often said he wants to cancel the CHIPS Act. According to Chosun, about 120 of 150 employees at the CHIPS Program Office (CPO) have lost their jobs. This raises concerns about whether Samsung and SK Hynix will get their promised subsidies.

Uncertain Future for Samsung and SK Hynix

A senior Korean-American official questions if Samsung and SK Hynix will receive their subsidies. The staff cuts at the CHIPS Office make the situation unclear. These companies had planned to use the funds to expand their semiconductor production in the US.

Elon Musk’s Role in the Changes

Elon Musk, as head of DOGE, is leading major changes in Trump’s administration. He has reduced the CHIPS Office workforce, affecting its ability to process payments. It is also unclear whether Kim, a key official, resigned by choice or was forced to leave.

    What Is the CHIPS Act?

Former President Joe Biden introduced the CHIPS Act to boost semiconductor production in the US. The act offers subsidies to big chipmakers. However, Trump has opposed it since the beginning. His administration’s actions now put its future at risk.

Samsung and SK Hynix Still Waiting for PaymentsTrump Samsung CHIPS Act

In 2023, the Biden administration promised $4.745 billion to Samsung and $458 million to SK Hynix. But neither company has received the money. With Trump’s opposition and changes in the CHIPS Office, these subsidies may never come.

Samsung and SK Hynix now face uncertainty. Political changes in the US may affect their plans and financial support.

  • Tekken 8 Season 2 maintenance schedule revealed

Anna Williams is scheduled to become available to purchase for everyone in Tekken 8 starting on April 2, 2025. However, those that purchase the Season 2 character pass will get early access to Anna starting today.

As such, the Season 2 patch to make Anna compatible for everyone is set to be downloadable later today. Over on X, the Tekken development team has revealed the server maintenance schedule for the big update.

Servers are set to go down later today at 23:30 CEST / 14:30 PDT / April 1st 06:30 JST. In other words, 2:30 p.m. PDT and 5:30 p.m. EDT.

Bandai Namco has also revealed that the patch notes for the Season 2 update will also be released around that time. This should tide players over while online features will be temporarily disabled.

This update will provide balance adjustments and introduce new items for the shop. Of course, this will all come at the cost of replays as they’ll become obsolete and unviewable due to the changes.

Although we’ve yet to get a compiled list of changes for the Season 2 patch, the Tekken 8 developers has already revealed some of the more impactful adjustments being made to the game. One of these adjustments will make it so that players will receive a small amount of chip damage upon successfully teching a throw attempt by the opponent.

Needless to say, this change caused a lot of controversy within the Tekken community. Shortly afterwards, the developers revealed that they plan to backtrack this change in a future update, but we should still expect the change among the rest of notes for the patch that’s dropping later today.

  • 3 Hidden Tweaks to Boost the Performance of your Android Phone

Do you remember how fast your Android phone was when you first bought it? Over time, you may have noticed it becoming sluggish—apps take longer to open, animations stutter, and multitasking feels like a chore. This slowdown happens for several reasons. Such reasons may include:

    – Too many background apps running and eating up RAM
    – Unnecessary system processes like excessive logging
    – Visual animations that look nice but slow down performance
    – Battery-saving features that throttle CPU speed

The good news? You don’t need to buy a new phone or factory reset your device to get back that smooth performance. Hidden deep in Android’s settings are powerful tweaks that can make your phone feel brand new again. These aren’t tweaks you can easily locate within the phone’s Settings.

To access these secret performance boosters, you’ll need to unlock Developer Mode—a hidden menu designed for app developers but packed with useful settings for everyday users. Don’t worry, enabling it is simple, safe, and reversible.

Once inside, we’ll explore three key tweaks:

    1. We will be reducing Logger Buffer Sizes. Reducing this will minimize system logs that silently consume resources
    2. We will disable Animations as well. This will make transitions instant for a snappier feel
    3. Lastly, we will also limit Background Processes. This will prevent apps from hogging your RAM

By the end of this guide, your Android phone will feel faster, more responsive, and closer to its original performance. Let’s get started!

How to Enable Developer Mode on Any Android Phone

Developer Mode is intentionally hidden because it contains advanced settings that most users don’t need. However, unlocking it is easy and only takes a minute. Here’s how to do it on most Android smartphones:

Step 1: Open the Settings App
    – Locate the Settings app (the gear icon) on your home screen or app drawer.
    – Tap to open it.

Step 2: Navigate to “About Phone
    – Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings menu.
    – Look for About Phone (on some devices, it may be called About Device or Software Information).

Step 3: Find the “Build Number”
    – Inside the About Phone section, scroll until you see Build Number.
    – On some phones (like Samsung), you may need to go into Software Information first.

Step 4: Tap the Build Number 7 Times
    – Quickly tap the Build Number seven times in a row.
    – After the third or fourth tap, you’ll see a message like “You’re X steps away from being a developer.”
    – Keep tapping until you see “You are now a developer!”

    Step 5: Access Developer Options
    – Go back to the main Settings menu.
    – You’ll now see a new option called Developer Options (usually under System or Additional Settings).
    – Tap it to access advanced performance tweaks.

Note: If you don’t see Developer Options, try restarting your phone or checking under System > Advanced.

    1. Reduce Logger Buffer Sizes (Free Up Hidden System Resources)Android Phone Performance

    What Are Logger Buffers?
Android constantly logs system activities for debugging purposes. These logs help developers diagnose issues but can pile up over time, consuming memory and CPU power unnecessarily.

    Why Reduce Them?
    – Frees up RAM for your actual apps
    – Reduces background CPU usage
    – Helps prevent minor lag spikes

How to Adjust Logger Buffer Sizes:
    1. Open Developer Options (as shown above).
    2. Scroll down to Logging or Logger Buffer Sizes.
    3. Tap it and select the smallest option available (64K or 128K).
    4. Reboot your phone for the changes to take full effect.

Pro Tip: If you don’t see this option, your phone’s manufacturer may have removed it. In that case, skip to the next tweak. However, it is available on many phones that we have tested.

    2. Disable Animations to Boost Android Phone PerformanceAndroid Phone Performance

Why Do Animations Slow Down Your Phone?
Android uses three types of animations to make transitions smooth:
    – Window Animation Scale (when apps open/close)
    – Transition Animation Scale (when switching between screens)
    – Animator Duration Scale (for in-app animations)

While these look nice, they add milliseconds of delay to every action. Disabling them makes your phone feel lightning-fast. If you don’t want to fully disable animations, you can also choose to reduce it to 0.5x.

    How to Turn Off Animations:
    1. In Developer Options, find these three settings:
    – Window Animation Scale
    – Transition Animation Scale
    – Animator Duration Scale
    2. Tap each one and select “Animation off” (or “0.5x” if you still want subtle animations).
    3. Exit settings—no reboot needed.

    Result:
    – Apps open instantly
    – Scrolling feels more responsive
    – No more stuttering when switching tasks

    3. Limit Background Processes (Stop Apps from Draining Your RAM)Android Phone Performance

    Why Limit Background Processes?
Android allows multiple apps to run in the background, which is useful for notifications but can slow down your phone if too many apps are active.

    How to Restrict Background Processes:
    1. In Developer Options, scroll to Background Process Limit.
    2. Tap it and choose “At most 2 or 3 processes”.
    3. Your phone will now keep only essential apps running in the background.

    What This Does:
    – Prevents unnecessary apps from eating RAM
    – Improves multitasking speed
    – Reduces battery drain

Note: Some apps (like messaging services) may need to run in the background. If notifications stop working, increase the limit to 1 or 2 processes.

Bonus Tip: Clear Cached Data for Better Android Phone Performance

If your phone is still slow, try clearing cached data:
    1. Go to Settings > Storage > Cached Data.
    2. Tap Clear Cache to free up temporary files.

This is safe and won’t delete your personal data.

Conclusion: Enjoy a Faster, Smoother Android Experience

Your Android phone doesn’t have to slow down over time. By using these three secret tweaks—reducing logger buffers, disabling animations, and limiting background processes—you can bring back that “like new” speed without risky mods or factory resets.

    Key Takeaways:
Developer Mode unlocks hidden performance settings
Smaller logger buffers = less background waste
No animations = instant app launches
Fewer background processes = more free RAM

Try these tweaks today, and you’ll notice a difference immediately. If you ever want to undo them, just revisit Developer Options and reset the settings.
