  • Khaos Reigns April update patch notes

The T-1000 and Madam Bo became available in Mortal Kombat 1 just a couple of weeks ago. However, it would seem that another patch is needed to adjust a few things since that major update.

As such, NetherRealm Studios has released patch notes for the April 2025 update. There are plenty of things being fixed with this patch, but there are also a number of relevant balance adjustments being applied.

The characters that are receiving changes are Baraka, General Shao, Havik, Kenshi, Kitana, Li Mei, Mileena, Reptile, Sindel, Quan Chi, and Ghostface.

There are also adjustments being made to the Kameo characters Kano, Tremor, and Ferra.

As for the T-1000 and Madam Bo, they also needed a few things fixed with this new patch. They’re not receiving any major balance tweaks at the moment, but they should function closer to what is intended of them in specific situations.

For now, it’s unknown how much longer NetherRealm Studios will be able to continue supporting Mortal Kombat 1 now that the final DLC character of the Kombat Pack 2, the T-1000, has been released. This is certainly a good sign that the game could be supported for at least a little bit longer.

The answers for today’s Strands were pretty easy. As soon as I started, I could easily solve the first theme words – TWINKLE and DAZZLE. Once I spotted STAR, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the puzzle revealed itself.

Do you also happen to play NYT Connections daily? If so, you can check out Wordle hints for April 2 and Connections hints for April 2 for answers and step-by-step guides to these puzzles.

What is NYT Strands Spangram and How Does It Work?

Every NYT Strands puzzle consists of a unique word or phrase that’s called the Spangram. This word or set of words will run the length of two opposite sides of the grid. One thing to note here is that, a Spangram doesn’t necessarily have to originate or end at the edge of the grid.

In its essence, the Spangram is kind of like a bigger hint that sums up today’s Strands theme in just a word or two. Since it spans across two sides of the puzzle, solving it early helps you figure out the rest of the theme words and vice versa.

Tips and Strategies for Mastering NYT Strands Puzzle

Solving an NYT Strands puzzle successfully isn’t that hard in itself, but in some cases, the approach might not be as straightforward as it looks. So, here are simple tips and tricks that we suggest you follow to crack the theme words and Spangram for Strands puzzles:

    • Always start at the corners: No two puzzles are the same. But the chances of the Spangram extending to a diagonal form are quite low. So, the best strategy is to find and decrypt relevant words that are at the corners of the grid.
    • Don’t be ashamed to get hints: Sometimes, a theme word could be all you need to solve the entire puzzle. If that requires getting a hint using non-theme words, then that’s the first thing you should do. After all, the point is to have fun and figure this out, like all of us.
    • Think both literally and figuratively: Not all themes may land you in the same sense of thought. Some puzzles may welcome more clever answers that may convey something totally different from their actual meaning.
    • Aim for the Spangram: The Spangram is what splits the Strands board in half. So, figuring it out will help you cross out other potential approaches for a theme. Deciphering even half of the Spangram can get you close to the rest of the answers.

  • Geese Howard is apparently hiring for Howard Connection today…

SNK has revealed that Howard Connection apparently has job openings starting today on April 1, 2025, a day in which it is entirely safe to believe everything you read on the internet.

“We are recruiting for Howard Connection, an organization owned by Geese Howard,” begun the tweet on X.

“The best way to predict the future is… to rule it all,” continued the posting. “Those who have interest and determination, please check the job posting.”

It’s not mentioned in the job posting, but those that tend to be afraid of heights should probably refrain from applying. It would seem that Geese Howard prefers to work atop of extremely tall buildings.

Bystanders have even claimed to have seen Geese Howard going skydiving from his skyscrapers in the past. Oddly, it’s been a good while since he was spotted after his last “skydiving adventure.”

Aside from that, it’s worth mentioning that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is set to release this month on April 24, 2025.

Notably, M. Bison and Heihachi made grand returns in Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 respectively, so fans have been wondering if Geese Howard could be making a return in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves at some point. Although, he might return in a different state of being considering his last canonical appearance.

We’ll just have to see how things unfold from here to find out.

  • Tomorrow’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is set to last for approximately 60 minutes

It’s been a long and excruciating wait, but the scheduled time is nearly upon us. On April 2 (tomorrow), Nintendo will host their Switch 2 focused Direct at 6 a.m. PT and 9 a.m. ET.

Over on X, Nintendo revealed new details about what we should expect from the presentation. This is set to be an eventful livestream as the Direct has been scheduled to last for “approximately 60 minutes.”

Nintendo has basically gone radio silent about the Switch 2 since they first provided at sneak peek at it during the Switch 2 reveal trailer. By that point, it felt like just about everything about the console had already been leaked beforehand, but there was still plenty to be excited for nonetheless.

Amazingly, Nintendo has managed to keep the Switch 2 game library completely under wraps, although they did provide a quick look at the next Mario Kart entry for the hybrid device. Notably, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is known for being the best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch, which provides us with some ideas of what type of games Nintendo might feature during this upcoming presentation.

We also recently learned that Masahiro Sakurai has been working on a secret game project since April 2022. Chances are high that Sakurai’s game will actually be revealed during this Switch 2 Direct.

A plausible possibility is that Sakurai has been working on the next entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Switch 2. Nintendo would certainly have a vested interest in having Sakurai working on this project considering that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ended up being the third best-selling game on the Switch with over 35.88 million sales achieved.

Additionally, many fans have been wondering why Capcom hasn’t revealed the Elena trailer for Street Fighter 6. Of course, Street Fighter is only available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the PC.

Based on what we know of reported spec leaks, it seems like the Switch 2 will be powerful enough to run Street Fighter 6. As such, there are plenty of fans that have speculated that the Elena trailer could actually show up during the Switch 2 Direct tomorrow.

As always, we’ll be live tomorrow covering any news relevant to the fighting game community. Be sure to tune in with us then.

  • What Is Wordle? Everything You Need to Know

At this point in time, Wordle is one game that is massively played all around the world. You might have only run across this game by seeing people on Twitter sharing their own wins through those green, yellow, and gray blocks. Whether you are someone who’s wondering what Wordle is all about or just curious to know the history behind the viral puzzle game, we have created a detailed guide to tell you everything there is to know about the Wordle game.

    What Is Wordle? Explained

Image Credit: NYT Games (Screenshot by Sagnik Das Gupta/ Beebom)

For the uninitiated, Wordle is a simple yet addictive word-guessing game. The game gives out only one word to everyone across the world. The aim is to guess this word in just six attempts. Since you only have one word, if you fail, the game will be locked until tomorrow.

The Wordle bot chooses the word of the day from its own directory. As such, there are no rules you can follow to accurately predict the word, as it can be anything. While playing Wordle might sound easy, it gets frustrating quickly because of the high number of possibilities and only six chances.

    How to Play Wordle Online

How to Play Wordle NYT Hints
Image Credit: NYT Games (Screenshot by Sagnik Das Gupta/ Beebom)

Wordle has added a handy introductory pop-up to the website to help new players understand how the game works. As mentioned above, the goal is to guess the word in six attempts. Once you randomly guess a word, you will see either green, yellow, or gray blocks on the letters of the word. And here’s what each color in Wordle depicts:

    • The green block indicates that the letter is in the target word and is in the right position.
    • Meanwhile, the yellow block hints that the letter belongs in the target word but is in the incorrect position.
    • The gray block reveals that the letter is not in the target word at all.

You can play the game once a day, and you get a new word every day. This approach has built anticipation among users and helped in player retention. If you’re still stuck, then learn how to play Wordle using our quick guide.

Wordle Game: The Origin and Future

Wordle was created by Brooklyn-based software engineer Josh Wardle. In an interview with the New York Times, Wardle revealed that the game was built for his partner, who loves word games. Wardle subsequently released the game for everyone. Over the past few years, Wordle has gone viral and is played by thousands of people around the world every day.

In February 2022, Wardle transferred the rights of Wordle over to the NYT in an agreement. While the game is now under the New York Times, the developer mentions that it will remain free to play for everyone, so people can keep enjoying it. So if you’re looking to get into the game, rest assured you won’t have to pay for it.

The popularity of Wordle can be credited to three major factors: simplicity, scarcity, and the community experience. Getting started with Wordle is fairly straightforward, and almost anyone can play Wordle regardless of their age. That, combined with the fact that you can play it just once a day, makes users come back to guess the new word.

Inspired by Spelling Bee and NYT crossword, this is exactly what the creator was going for. Another crucial factor is the shareability aspect, where users can easily share their results with their peers on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. We have even seen popular celebrities like Jimmy Fallon jump on the hype train. Well, now in 2025 as well, Wordle is showing no signs of slowing down!

In a world where leading game publishers are desperately looking to cash in on the next big thing, Wordle is a breath of fresh air. It has emerged as a viral word game that users enjoy playing. So, if you’re tired of playing NYT Connections and NYT Strands, Wordle is certainly a game you should try out.

What Is the WordleBot? Why Should You Use?

If you’ve played Wordle once or twice, you might have seen a pop-up with a bot. This is the WordleBot, a handy AI companion created by the NYT. WordleBot has been made to analyze your Wordle results and compare them to its own performance. Once you submit your result, it goes through each of your turns and compares it to its own action plan and what it would have done.

Furthermore, WordleBot also shows worldwide stats along with a timer until the next game gets here. Try it out the next time you feel you need to improve.

    Wordle: Easy Tips and Tricks

Now that you know how the game works and are looking to join other Wordle users, here are some cool tips and tricks that will help you figure out the word quickly.

    1. Choose your first word smartly: The most important thing in Wordle is the first word you choose as your guess to solve the puzzle. Now, you should remember two things – one, entering a word with distinct letters will be helpful, and second, entering two or three vowels in the first guess to get a good feel of the word.

For example, if you enter ARENA as your first guess, you are not fully utilizing your first guess by reusing A. Instead, we suggest you enter a world like RADIO, SPOIL, or MEDIA.

If you can’t be bothered to do the guesswork, check out our list of the best Wordle starting words and take your pick.

    2. Same letter can appear twice: Yes, you read that right. If you are running out of letters and most of them have been grayed out, then there’s a good chance that letters repeat in your Wordle. You can get words like SPELL, SHEEP, or CARRY, which require you to input the same letter to guess the word correctly. We suggest you use this handy tip on your fourth or fifth try if you haven’t been able to find many green or yellow blocks until now.

    3. Avoid typing excluded gray letters: This is one of the hardest things to remember and follow while solving a Wordle. If a letter has been grayed out, avoid reusing it in your next guess. You are only wasting a turn doing so.

To help you out even more, we have compiled a dedicated guide on the best Wordle tips and tricks. Commit them all to memory to perform your best the next time.

How to Share Your Wordle Result

There was once a time when Twitter was chock-full of random Wordle numbers and random green, yellow, and grey boxes. While you know what they are now, what you might not know is that you can share your Wordle result with the world right from the game itself.

Once you’re done solving the game, a handy pop-up will offer you a way to share your result. Simply click it, and it will copy to your clipboard. You can now paste it and share it anywhere, just like you see them on Twitter.

Play Wordle Without the Daily Limit

    Wordle Unlimited Game
Image Credit: NYT Games (Screenshot by Sagnik Das Gupta/ Beebom)

In case you want to bypass the daily limit of Wordle and play infinite Wordle games every day, you could consider taking a look at Wordle Unlimited. Built by the fans of the game, Wordle Unlimited is an open-source project that replicates Wordle without the daily limit. If that interests you, you can check out Wordle Unlimited (Free). However, if you want even more variety, then go through our list of games like Wordle to find your pick.

Is Wordle the same for everyone?

Yes, the target word in Wordle is the same for everyone on a given day.

Is there only one Wordle a day?

To help retain a sense of scarcity, the developer has decided to restrict the Wordle game to one word a day. You can always come back the next day or try Wordle Unlimited, which is essentially Wordle without daily limits.

    How to play past Wordles?

Since it is a daily word guessing game, you can’t play past Wordles, at least at the moment. We will have to wait to see if NYT has plans to release an archive feature that will let anyone play previous Wordle games.

What are the rules for Wordle?

You can check out Wordle rules and how to play it through the sections and our linked guides above.

Does Wordle have an official app?

Since Wordle is now owned by The New York Times, it’s playable through the official NYT Games (Android/iOS) app. Download and install it to begin.

    Is Wordle free to play?

Yes, Wordle is fully free to play. This applies to both PC and mobile clients, so you can go ahead and play as much as you want.

    What is a Wordle Streak?

If you keep playing Wordle regularly, you will create a streak just like you would on Snapchat Streaks. However, do note that not playing even a single day will cause the streak to break, and you’ll have to start over. While it doesn’t provide any benefits, a Wordle Streak is still fun to maintain.

  • Best Wordle Starting Words You Should Use (April 2025)

There is hardly any possibility that you still haven’t heard of Wordle. This web-based word game, even though a few years old, remains massively popular. However, that doesn’t mean it’s easy, as most folks find starting with the right words the most difficult. We felt the same, so we compiled a list of the best Wordle starting words that you should try out right now. So without further ado, open up Wordle in another tab, and let’s do this.

Top Wordle Starting Words: Our Approach

Looking up online, you will see that there is a ton of advice littered around on the Internet regarding the best starting words to use in Wordle. While most of the advice is correct, we are going to list some of our own general tips you can apply to the game.

    • Don’t repeat letters: For those unaware, Wordle is a game that only accepts five-letter words as input with only six tries. As such, every try is important. So whenever playing, ensure you never repeat letters to maximize your chances of ticking all of them off.
    • Use vowel-heavy words: A prevalent advice that you will see online is that you should always eliminate your vowels first. This is done to ensure you get them out of the way and then narrow down the other letters. So whenever possible, make sure the best Wordle starting words have the most vowels.
    • Don’t rush: While this might sound obvious, most folks rush through their six tries and then wait 24 hours. While you can open an incognito tab, if you’re using an official NYT account, take your time before exhausting all the tries.

If you found the above tips useful and are looking for more, stay tuned for our best Wordle tips and tricks guide.

I prefer starting with ‘ARISE’ as it contains a high volume of vowels and consonants and helps get quite a few letters out of the way. I then follow along with another word or two until the answer is almost obvious. As I said before, it won’t help you get the answer at once, but it will make the job easier.

What Is the Best 5 Word Start for Wordle

Going through the lists above, you might be confused about all the variety and, instead, might be looking for a more straightforward answer. Well, while there is no concrete list of the absolute five words, given below are our personal picks of the best five starting words for Wordle.

    • ARISE
    • AISLE
    • SALTY
    • DINER
    • POUCH

While my favorite from this list is certainly ARISE and AISLE, the SALTY-DINER-POUCH trio is my second favorite, and it’s amazing the number of times this trinity has helped me get through a Wordle round.

Now, if you take a look at the above image, while I also used some or all of the other words listed here, there are times when I go another way altogether. It heavily depends on the puzzle in front of you and the method you deploy to solve it.

    • MIT – Tired of guessing, a pair of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) decided to conduct their own study and answer this question once and for all. Conducting their research and running it through an algorithm, the pair determined the best starting Worlde word is ‘SALET,’ a 15th-century helmet. The pair has even published a peer-reviewed paper titled “An Exact and Interpretable Solution to Wordle,” which you can check out for yourself.
    • Wordlebot – NYT’s official bot that was launched to help analyze and have fun with Wordle results is yet another helpful resource. Besides assessing a user’s past Wordle results, the assistant also has a list of words it considers the best openers:
    1. SLATE – Wordlebot’s top pick in regular mode
    2. LEAST – The bot’s best choice in hard mode
    3. CRANE – Previously the top pick for regular, but still outstanding

Using a combination of information theory and probability, Grant decided to write a computer program that simulated how games might play out on multiple incorrect guesses. Saving you the jargon, the best word starting word, according to Grant Sanderson, is “CRANE.” While it might feel a bit anti-climactic, it’s one of the best starting words you can use in Wordle.

  • Microsoft Copilot+ Features Arrive on AMD and Intel PCs

It’s been a while since Microsoft launched its first batch of Copilot+ PCs in partnership with Qualcomm. Intel and AMD soon came into the picture with their AI chipset that expanded the Copilot+ range. However, the AMD/Intel and Snapdragon Copilot+ PCs were not made equal, as the former lacked a few redefining features from the Snapdragon PCs. But that changes today as Microsoft has announced that it’s rolling out all Copilot+ features to AMD/Intel PCs.

In a blog post that Microsoft posted today, the Redmond giant notes that it’s rolling out more features to AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Core Ultra 200V that were previously exclusive to Snapdragon X Elite Copilot+ PCs. Windows Experiences Corporate VP, Navjot Virk said:

“Today marks another milestone as we roll out exclusive Copilot+ PC experiences like Live Captions, Cocreator, Restyle Image and Image Creator across all Copilot+ PCs powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 series, Intel Core Ultra 200V and Snapdragon X Series processors.”

The Copilot Plus features that are rolling out include Live Captions, Cocreator, Restyle Image, and Image Creator. Similarly, features related to new Voice Access capabilities on Snapdragon X-powered laptops will also roll out later this year.

There’s no mention of when or if the latest Insider feature Semantic Search will roll out to AMD/Intel Copilot+ PCs. Considering Microsoft is expanding the feature set, it should roll out eventually.

According to Microsoft, the Voice Access capabilities will allow users to communicate with their PCs using “more descriptive” languages. The firm also says it will be the first to “take advantage of the NPUs” on Copolit+ PCs.

What are your thoughts on Copilot+ PCs? Are they too confusing at this point? Let us know in the comments below.

  • New Tekken 8 Season 2 Editions now available

The Season 2 update for Tekken 8 was released just yesterday. For those that purchased the Year 2 Character Pass, Anna Williams was made immediately available thanks to its early access perk.

Starting today, there will be new editions of Tekken 8 that get released in celebration of the start of Season 2. These new editions of the game will replace the previous Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Tekken 8 while adding more content to the bundles.

The Tekken 8 Season 2 Ultimate Edition will give players access to the Season 1 Character & Stage Pass and the Season 2 Character & Stage Pass. For the second pass, players will automatically get early access to new content 72 hours ahead of everyone without the pass.

As expected, players will get a little less content with the Tekken 8 Season 2 Deluxe Edition as it will just come with the eight DLC characters (still with the 72 hours early access for Season 2 content). Those that go this route will have to purchase the DLC stages separately if they want them.

Finally, there’s the new Tekken 8 Advanced Edition. This will come with the base game along with Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi from Season 1 at a special price. The sole guest character, Final Fantasy 16’s Clive Rosfield, is not part of this bundle.

The Tekken 8 Deluxe Edition is being priced at $99.99 while the Tekken 8 Ultimate Edition costs $109.99. The new Advanced Edition of Tekken 8 Season 2 is currently on sale (for 30% off) at $48.99. These bundles are essentially being priced at the same rates as before, but with additional content.
