The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has withdrawn the operation licenses of three private jet operators for using their jets for commercial purposes.
The NCAA also gave the owners of private jets 72 hours to submit relevant documents.
The authority gave the directive in a statement dated April 16, 2024 published on its website and signed by the Acting Director General, Captain Chris Ona Najoma.
The NCAA said the use of private jets for commercial purposes had received the attention of the Minister Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, who issued marching orders for the stoppage of such acts.
The authority had in March this year issued warning to holders of the permit for non commercial flights, against engaging in the carriage of passenger, cargo or mail for hire and reward.
NCAA said, “The Authority had also deployed its officials to monitor activities of private jets at terminals across the airports in Nigeria. As a consequence of this heightened surveillance, no fewer than three private operators have been found to be involved in violation of the annexture provision of their PNCF and Part 91.14 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations.
“In line with our zero tolerance for violation of regulations, the Authority has suspended the PNCF of these operators. To further sanitize the general aviation sector, I have directed that’s a re-evaluation of all holders of PNCF be carried carried out on or before the 19th of April 2024 to ascertain compliance with regulatory requirements.
“All PNCF holder will be required to submit relevant documents to the authority within the next 72 hours.
“This riot act is also directed at existing Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holders, who utilize aircraft listed on their PNCF for commercial charter operations.”
The NCAA warned that only aircraft listed in the operation specifications of the AOC are authorized to be used in the provision of such charter services.
NCAA noted, “Any of those AOC holders who wish to use the aircraft for charter operations must apply to the NCAA to delist the affected aircraft from the PNCF and include it into the AOC operations specification.”
The authority advised the travelling public not to patronise any airline charter operator who does not hold a valid Air Operators Certificate issued by the NCAA, when they wish to procure charter operations services.

The acting commander of the 82 Divisions Provost Group, Lt Colonel KA Adeta allegedly attempted to cover up the killing of a pregnant woman, Miss Hauwakulu Tabra by a soldier, Private Mohammed Adamu before SaharaReporters’ exposure of the matter, multiple sources on Tuesday confirmed.
SaharaReporters had on Saturday exclusively reported how Adamu with service number 21NA/80/0365 stabbed the late Tabra.
Multiple sources had narrated how the lifeless body of the five-month-old pregnant woman wearing a hijab was discovered on Friday by the daughter of an army lieutenant around the division’s officers’ quarters.
The suspect was said to be working with the division’s legal service.
According to two senior military officers who spoke to SaharaReporters, Adamu is a “repentant” Boko Haram member who after his repentance joined the Civilian Joint Task Force and later was enlisted into the Nigerian Army in the year 2021.
The Nigerian Army had between 2020 and 2021 absorbed 400 members of the civilian JTF into its fold to assist in prosecuting the war against Boko Haram terrorists.
“The suspect behind the murder of Miss Hauwa, the hijab woman is 21NA/80/0365 Pte Mohammed Adamu of 82Div legal services,” one of the sources had said.
“Unfortunately, Pte Mohammed Adamu is a repented Boko Haram member who after his repentance joined the civilian JTF. It was from being a CJTF that he was enlisted into the Army in the year 2021.
“Investigation revealed that Miss Hauwa and Pte Mohammed Adamu were both lovers and from the same town in Biu local government area of Borno state. He, Pte Mohammed Adamu paid her transport to come over to Enugu and killed her. He is currently in custody of the military police and his statement has been taken in which he confessed to the act.”
However, it was learnt that Lieutenant Colonel Adeta visited Adamu where he was detained by the military police before the story was published by SaharaReporters.
According to different sources, the army commander gave the killer soldier the sum of N8000 for his feeding in detention.
“Thanks for letting the whole world be aware of the truth. On the night of Saturday, the acting Commander 82Div Provost Group, Lieutenant Colonel KA Adeta visited and requested to see the suspect behind the murder of late Miss Hauwa,” one of the sources told SaharaReporters.
“During his visit, he told the killer to calm down that nothing would happen. Don’t forget that Adamu is the bathman to Major HY Shehu, the persecuting counsel and also DDLS of 82 Division. So he is like a boy to many of these top officers because he has access to many confidential documents and petitions written against them.
“So, after his assurance, he asked the Pte Mohammed Adamu if there is anything he would like him to do for him. After everything, he dropped off the sum of eight thousand naira for his feeding pending when his boss Major HY Shehu who travelled to Abuja comes back from his trip.
“Let me tell you something as well, same Lieutenant Colonel KA Adeta was once dismissed from service, though he was reinstated after a Court of Appeal judgement, the army intentionally refused to appeal at the Supreme Court. This was when Adeta was a Captain under 7 Division Provost Group sometimes in the year 2016 or thereabout in Maiduguri, Borno State.
“He was court-martialled in a murder related case where someone in his custody was killed on his instruction/under his watch. That was why the army authorities dismissed him. So he was dismissed and jailed and later brought back to service after an Appeal Court judgement. The case was actually struck out over technicalities, not on the real accusation. So he was posted to 81 Divisions Provost Group in Lagos State.
“He worked under the current Military Police Corp Commander/Provost Marshall, Major General Garba who was once as well dismissed after Jaji bomb blast few years ago. That is to tell you that none of them is clean.
“After Lieutenant Colonel Adeta left Adamu in detention, he got a call that this same incident he was trying to cover had been exposed by SaharaReporters, he was in disarray and confused. He immediately went back to the guard room where Adamu was kept.
“He confiscated all the phones belonging to the soldiers and officer working under him, especially those who visited the crime scene and took pictures of the lifeless body. He didn’t stop at that, he ordered that all the soldiers whom he suspected to have exposed the whole incident to SaharaReporters should be detained and their phones properly investigated. He was curious to know how SaharaReporters got the confession of Adamu where he admitted killing his lover.
“Not satisfied, he called upon the top Military Police investigators like Lieutenant Edet, Warrant Officer Yusuf, Corporal Agummadu, Corporal Dorathy, Lance Corporal Adam etc and ordered that a well detailed investigation should be carried out on the phones belonging to soldiers at the duty room.
“He further gave instructions that nobody should visit anyone in detention or bring food for them so as to avoid anyone knowing how the case is going or the whereabout of the suspect, Adamu. All these were efforts to keep the whole world in pure darkness about the incident if not for SaharaReporters.
“Meanwhile, all these plans may not work again as delegates from the Army Headquarters which were sent by the COAS in regard to the investigation on the murder mystery are around.”
Another source added, “Thanks to you guys, the plan was to forge a fake psycho result for the killer, so that they can say he was not mentally balanced. But the world is already aware of the case, it may interest you to know that the family of the deceased got to know about the incident through SaharaReporters.
“Major Adeboye of 82Div medical hospital was at the guardroom where he took his urine and blood samples. We await the result.”
SaharaReporters’ efforts to get Lieutenant Colonel Adeta’s reaction were unsuccessful as calls to his phone number did not connect.

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has taken to social media to lash out at his many critics who have marital problems but hide behind their keypads to judge him.
The actor claimed in a post on his official Instagram page that some Nigerians portray themselves as “saints online” and criticize him for his marriage choice while going through their own marital crisis.
He went on to say that although the “online saints’” homes were on fire, they had abandoned their homes to begin passing judgment on another man and offering advice on how to resolve his marital problems.

The Lagos State government has offered employment to Mr. Asije Bright Oladotun, one of the two ‘heros’ that rescued the crew members onboard the ill-fated helicopter that crashed on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja in August last year.
He was absorbed into the state’s Fire and Rescue Service.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Ololade Agboola.
According to Agboola, Asije was the only one employed because of qualification criteria. This suggests that the second person did not meet the qualification criteria.
“The Lagos State Government has fulfilled its pledge to employ the hero of the tragic helicopter crash on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja, on August 1, 2023. Following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s visit to the scene, where he met the two heroes, the decision was made to offer employment to the qualified individual, who demonstrated exceptional bravery during the incident. Mr Asije Bright oladotun has been employed as a fireman.
“Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, announced that the selected hero, who played a crucial role in the initial response to the crash, will undergo rigorous training to become a firefighter. This training will prepare him for the responsibilities ahead.
“It is important to note that only one hero out of the two involved could be employed due to qualification criteria,” the Lagos Fire spokesperson said in a statement.
It would be recalled that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who visited the scene of the crash had met with the two heroes and commended them for their bravery.
“We do not know the cause of the helicopter crash. That would be done by experts at the NSIB, which is an investigative bureau. But we are thankful that we got a very quick response both from Lagos State Emergency Service (LASEMA) and all the residents of the neighborhood, especially two very gallant citizens; Oluwafemi and Opeyemi. While everybody was running away, Opeyemi and Oluwafemi were the very first people that looked for water from the and they were able to also help to rescue the two passengers that were inside the helicopter,” Sanwo-Olu had said.
The fixed wing propeller aircraft with Registration Number 5NCCQ, belonging to Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Limited, burst into flame after crashing into an old communication pole. There were two-crew members onboard the helicopter, which was on a test-run

Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has ordered the arrest of one Mr Itoro Monday Uko in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of the state for contempt of court.
Itoro Uko is said to have abandoned his wife and their two-year-old daughter in the village to live with his girlfriend in Ikot Ekpene Town.
The presiding judge, Justice Ntong Ntong, gave the order after hearing Counsel for the applicant and mother of the child, Barrister Ekom Friday Inwang, following the absence of the contemnor and his Counsel.
Mrs Itoro Uko, a private school teacher from Mkpat Enin Local Government Area told the court that apart from neglecting his responsibilities as a father in providing for the needs of his child, the respondent also refused to refund the N200,000 loan she collected for her husband to fix his car since March 2022.
She said they got married on January 18, 2020, and the marriage was blessed with the first child, after which she got pregnant for the second child when her husband started to beat her, resulting in her first miscarriage.
She also told the court that she got pregnant again for the third time and her husband continued to assault her, adding that she was rushed to a hospital where she spent three nights due to bleeding in May 2022, and her husband never showed up even one day. She added that it was her siblings who financed her medical bills.
She told the court that she had to travel to her village in Mkpat Enin for her mother to take care of her till she fully recovered and that throughout her stay, her husband did not call or visit.
Upon recovery on July 4, 2022, the applicant said she went to her husband’s family home in Itak Ikot Udo, where they were living, to find out why her husband did not visit but to her surprise, the keys to their apartment were changed and she could not enter the house to pick her clothes or that of her child.
Mrs Itoro Uko said she became aware after the birth of her first child that her husband was keeping multiple sex partners and efforts to get him changed proved abortive.
She said she became pregnant again for the third time, and the act of battery persisted, which prompted her in-laws to advise her to stay with her parents in Mkpat Enin to avoid being killed by her husband.
Counsel to the applicant urged the Court to order the arrest and detention of the respondent for being in contempt of the order of the Court made on April 6, 2023.
Justice Ntong granted the order and commanded “Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police and the Divisional Police Officer, Ikot Ekpene Division, their officers and men in the name of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and the Inspector General of Police to cause the arrest and detention of Mr Itoro Monday Uko and produce him in court” and adjourned the case to Thursday, April 25, 2024, for hearing.
