    The Nigerian Navy has taken delivery of an Offshore Survey Vessel, OSV 115, designed and built by a French shipbuilding company, OCEA SA.

    It is a 35m-long vessel built for scientific hydro-graphic and oceanographic missions and equipped with progressive technology, including medium or shallow water multi-beam echo sounders and other essential survey equipment.

    “The Nigerian Navy began local production of internationally-recognised nautical charts in 2019 and the newly-acquired OSV will further improve its hydro-graphic charting proficiency.”

    The chestmaster confirmed this in a post on his official X account.

    He wrote, “We have done it.

    Different aspirants, including Wale Akinterinwa, Dr. Olugbega Edema, Professor Dayo Faduyile, and Olushola Oke, protested against the conduct of the primary, citing issues such as late distribution of materials, poor logistics, and suspected plots to rig the election results.

    Professor Dayo Faduyile, represented by Mr. Paul Oniyemofe, described the election as a “daylight robbery” and called for a rescheduled primary.

  • When Naira went haywire and some people were celebrating, inwardly we were laughing at them

    When Naira went haywire and some people were celebrating, inwardly we were laughing at them - Shettima assures Nigerians

    Vice-President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians that the Naira will continue to appreciate against the Dollar in the foreign exchange market.

    Speaking when a delegation of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) led by its President, Gabriel Idahosa, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the President Villa, Abuja, Shettima stated that when the Naira went haywire and some people were celebrating, they were inwardly laughing at them because they know they have the leadership to reverse the trend.

    He also stated that President Bola Tinubu had to end the fuel subsidy and ensure the unification of the multiple exchange rate because “the former arrangement was producing billionaires overnight.”

    He said;

    “Naira went haywire and some people were celebrating but inwardly we were laughing at them because we knew that we had the leadership to reverse the trend. Asiwaju knows the game, and truly the naira is gaining and the difference will drop further.

    “We will always thank President Tinubu for providing the blueprint for the development of Lagos that we are seeing today.  We are determined to ensure that we generate jobs for our youths. Honestly, the President’s obsession is to live in a place of glory, to transform this country to a higher pedestal. He wants to leave a legacy, one of qualitative leadership because the hope of the black man, the hope of Africa rests with Nigeria.

    “I want to assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of you. He understands your ecosystem. In this government, you have an ally and a friend.”
