  • Manchester United top official looks set to join Newcastle United

Manchester United could be set to lose one of their top directors as Newcastle come knocking for a replacement for CEO Darren Eales.

Last year, the two Premier League clubs were linked in controversy as then Newcastle United Sporting Director Dan Ashworth made it known, albeit secretly, that he wanted to move to Old Trafford, holding talks with Omar Berrada.

After £2 million was paid by Manchester United to compensate Newcastle for losing their sporting director, Ashworth was appointed at Old Trafford, although his tenure didn’t last long.

Five month later and the inaugural sporting director was sacked, with Ashworth feeling side-lined from big decisions like Erik ten Hag’s successor.

Whilst Ashworth wanted Gareth Southgate, Sir Dave Brailsford and Omar Berrada wanted Ruben Amorim, ultimately going with the Portuguese manager.

Now, a high ranking member of staff is due to go the other way as United Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche is being considered for the Chief Executive role with The Magpies.

The Telegraph has reported Roche is a candidate to succeed Eales who is stepping down after being diagnosed with blood cancer last September.

Eales is sent to continue in the role until someone else is appointed, with former Arenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham also being considered.

However, this isn’t the first Premier League side to be after Roche, as the COO was considered for the Everton CEO role before Angus Kinnear was appointed with a start date of June.

Roche has been increasingly hands on with the club, especially after Ashworth’s departure, being a key figure in delivering the £50 million Carrington refurbishment and with the £2 billion new stadium project.

  • Hugo Ekitike transfer fee revealed

Manchester United’s search for a striker this summer has turned up a range of options for Ruben Amorim’s side, aiming to turn the club’s results around.

This season, Amorim has been reliant on goals from Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo as strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been unreliable.

As such, United have shortlisted strikers like Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David and Hugo Ekitike to bring consistency to the final third.

All four have been clinical in front of goal this season, however United’s financial struggles might make it difficult for the club to make a massive signing in the summer.

It’s been recently reported that Gyokeres’ price tag has dropped from his release clause of £86.5 million to £50 million thanks to a gentleman’s agreement he has with the club allowing him to leave to the right club.

However, Ekitike’s seems to have gone the other way.

Eintracht Frankfurt to cash in on wide-spread Hugo Ekitike interest

Florian Plettenberg has reported that Eintracht Frankfurt are well aware of the wide-spread interest in Ekitike, with clubs like United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus monitoring the situation closely.

As Such, the Bundesliga side are looking to cash in on the star who’s departure is almost guaranteed.

Despite a £46 million valuation on Transfermarkt, Frankfurt and asking for a £67 million for the 22-year-old.

This puts him as more expensive than Gyokeres who has been proven for several seasons both with Sporting CP and in England with Coventry City, albeit in a lower league.

If United are to try to meet Frankfurt’s valuation of Ekitike, some key sales will need to be finalised first, potentially allowing for other clubs to beat them to his signature.

  • Manchester United target Geovany Quenda alternative

Manchester United’s struggles on the flanks have been a glaring issue this season, leaving Ruben Amorim scrambling for solutions.

Amad Diallo’s injury setbacks have limited his impact, while Marcus Rashford and Antony were both loaned out in January after inconsistent performances.

With both wingers potentially set to leave permanently in the summer, United’s lack of attacking depth has become a growing concern.

Makeshift options have failed to provide the cutting edge needed, forcing the club to prioritize reinforcements ahead of next season.

The urgency to strengthen the squad has only intensified as United look to rebuild under new ownership.

With the summer transfer window approaching, the club is already making moves to address the issue.

One name that has emerged as a serious target is Roger Fernandes, the highly-rated winger from Braga.

The 19-year-old has been attracting strong interest from Premier League clubs, with United now emerging as a frontrunner in the race for his signature.

Reports from O Jogo suggest that Fernandes has long been on United’s radar, and despite a recent injury that temporarily sidelined him, their interest remains strong.

The club views him as a player with “extraordinary talent” and a ceiling comparable to other young stars who have made big moves from Portugal.

Ruben Amorim had been targeting a move for his former club Sporting’s star, but rising talent Geovany Quenda opted to join Chelsea instead.

With Quenda now out of the picture, United may still look to secure a promising player from the Portuguese market this summer with Fernandes seen as an alternative.

United are eager to avoid another missed opportunity after losing out on his compatriot, Renato Veiga, to Chelsea.

Braga, however, will not let their prized asset leave without a fight.

Club president Antonio Salvador has already received offers for the teenager, with Brighton, Fulham, and Chelsea testing the waters in January.

Braga reportedly set a €30 million asking price, which may deter some suitors, but United’s long-standing admiration for Roger Fernandes could push them to meet the valuation.

Roger Fernandes has been a key figure for Braga this season, featuring in 44 matches and proving to be a decisive presence in attack.

His return from injury in the final stretch of the campaign could be crucial in boosting his value even further.

With Manchester City, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Brentford also monitoring his progress, a summer bidding war could be on the horizon.

As United look to reshape their squad and solve their winger crisis, Fernandes could be a major piece in their long-term plans.

Whether they can fend off competition and land the rising star remains to be seen, but their interest is unlikely to fade anytime soon.

  • Kobbie Mainoo transfer hopes revealed

Manchester United’s prized young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is still yet to agree an extension to his current contract.

Whilst his contract is currently in place until 2027, meaning there’s no urgency to renew the contract just yet, the 19-year-old is keen to upgrade his terms to reflect his current role.

The central midfielder and his representatives are negotiating an increased wage to reflect his importance to Ruben Amorim and his routine call-ups to the England squad of late.

However, with United’s financial struggles, the club are keen to keep their wage bill down, leading to disagreements on what Mainoo’s new wage should be.

Another factor in the ongoing saga that is United’s financial troubles, is the fact that as an academy graduate, selling Mainoo would constitute as pure profit, and with a price tag of £70 million, this would be a massive step to support the club’s funds.

As such, concerns from fans that Mainoo could leave the club in the summer have been growing.

However, TBR Football has reported that Mainoo hopes this won’t be the case

Kobbie Mainoo wants to stay at Old Trafford

Despite the ongoing negotiations, both United and Mainoo’s agents are confident that a new deal would be found, with the 19-year-old set against leaving his boyhood club.

Mainoo is yet to find his role under Amorim, with Erik ten Hag having used him in defensive midfield and then the Portuguese manager using him more in attack on occasion.

Not only has Mainoo been put in attacking roles just behind the striker, but on one occasion he was fielded ahead of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as a starting striker.

Unfortunately, a muscle injury has ruled the youngster out for several weeks, stopping his further development under Amorim.

However, the talented teenager is hoping to be back ready to take on Nottingham Forest next week as United fight their way back up the table.

  • Arsenal set to confirm appointment of sporting director wanted by Manchester United

Manchester United is facing a significant shift in its footballing operations, with the departure of sporting director Dan Ashworth.

This move has left a vacancy that could be pivotal to the club’s next chapter, as they look to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Dan Ashworth’s exit marks a new era for United, especially with the appointment of Jason Wilcox to the newly vacated position.

Jason Wilcox’s immediate challenge will be overseeing United’s recruitment strategy as the club aims to restore itself to the top of English and European football, and that could be a difficult task as the summer transfer window approaches.

The club has already begun looking at possible replacements to assist with their player recruitment.

Arsenal has been in discussions with Andrea Berta for some time, and according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on his X account, an official announcement could be made within the ‘next few hours.’

Manchester United has closely monitored Andrea Berta’s track record.

Known for his impressive work at Atletico Madrid, where he built a formidable squad, Berta’s expertise could make him an ideal candidate for United’s growing ambitions.

With major changes looming in United’s squad, particularly around the attack and midfield, the club is expected to make big moves during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bendito Mantato is set to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United next week.

The signing was reported on CentreDevils earlier, with the youngster committing his future to the club until June 2029.

The 17-year-old winger is regarded as one of the brightest talents in United’s academy.

Jason Wilcox played a key role in finalising the deal.

Manager Ruben Amorim is also a firm admirer of the youngster and is eager to integrate him into the senior setup.

    Bendito Mantato debut timeframe revealed

Amorim is keen to hand Mantato his first-team debut before the end of the season.

That is according to AcademyScoop on X, who also stated that Amorim has recognised the qualities that Mantato can immediately bring to the first-team.

The teenager has impressed with his attacking versatility.

He has transitioned from a left-back to a right-winger, where he has thrived.

His standout performance came in a 5-2 win over Blackburn Rovers, where he scored four goals for the Under-18s.

Mantato has already been involved in first-team training sessions.

His rapid development has put him in contention for a senior appearance.

With United’s focus on youth continuing to strengthen, his debut could mark the beginning of another exciting academy success story at Old Trafford.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo tells star to join Manchester United

Manchester United is set for a busy summer as they look to reinforce their squad, with a number of high-profile players reportedly being targeted for the upcoming transfer window.

This season has been disappointing for the Red Devils, who currently sit 13th in the Premier League with just nine games left to play.

United will be looking to bounce back from a lackluster campaign, and Ineos, who have taken charge of football operations, will be hoping for more success in their second season at the helm.

As part of their efforts to strengthen the squad, United is expected to see significant departures.

Ten players are likely to leave Old Trafford this summer, with several others also up for sale, including Luke Shaw, despite limited interest in him.

To rebuild the team, United is focusing on four key areas that need reinforcement, with multiple exciting names being linked to the club in these positions.

Among the top targets, Francisco Trincao has reportedly been advised to make a move to Manchester United this summer.

Sources close to United’s transfer plans confirm that the club has identified Trincao as a prime target for the upcoming window.

The winger, currently playing for Sporting CP, has been told by his international teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot about the benefits of joining the Premier League giants, as per Graeme Bailey.

Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo has also recommended the move to Trincao, giving the former Barcelona starlet further encouragement.

United’s interest in Trincao is not new.

The club has been monitoring the 25-year-old for some time, and it is understood that he is considered a perfect fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactical setup at United.

Several figures at the club believe Trincao could provide the creative spark United’s attack has been lacking this season.

However, Trincao’s services won’t come without competition.

Manchester City, under their new director Hugo Viana, is also keen on the winger.

Viana, who previously worked at Sporting, has reportedly made Trincao a priority for City as part of their plans to strengthen their attacking options.

Along with Manchester City, other top European clubs, including AC Milan, have shown interest in the Portuguese international.

Despite this, Trincao is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League and make an impact, having previously played in England during a loan spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

If Trincao does make the move to United, it would be a significant signing for the club, with the Portuguese winger expected to cost around £30 million.

This price tag, along with the backing of United’s top players, makes it increasingly likely that Trincao will join the Red Devils this summer.

With United preparing for a major rebuild and several key players set to depart, the potential signing of Trincao would be a welcome addition as the club looks to bounce back from a challenging season and return to their former glory.

  • Manchester United handed massive injury boost ahead of Nottingham Forest game

Manchester United have a few more days to prepare for their next Premier League fixture with Nottingham Forest after the international break.

Unfortunately for Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils went into the break with a hefty amount of injuries, including Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and more.

Luke Shaw has been in and out of the treatment room throughout the season, whilst Leny Yoro, Altay Bayindir, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton have all also been side-lined.

However, Amorim’s been given a huge boost as three of his injured stars are now back in team training.

Samuel Luckhurst has reported that Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire have all re-joined, being green-lit in their recovery to take the step back towards the pitch.

However, they aren’t the only ones, with back up keepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton also returning to the sessions.

United have been forced to rely on problematic Andre Onana of late, despite his questionable decision-making resulting in goals conceded.

Now, with the pair back in training, Amorim at least has the choice to field the second option Bayindir in place of Onana.

With these five stars returning to training, Amorim will be hoping to utilise them fully to help Manchester United fight their way as high as possible up the Premier League table, with only nine games still to go.

  • Manchester United sign highly rated winger

Manchester United are set to promote teenage prodigy with Ruben Amorim keen to hand him a first-team debut before the season’s end.

Manchester United’s academy continues to be a fertile ground for emerging talent.

Manchester United’s commitment to nurturing young talent remains unwavering, with several academy prospects recently securing professional contracts.

Defender Jack Kingdon, who captained the Under-18s to a league title and earned a call-up to first-team training, has been rewarded with his first professional deal.

Similarly, forward Jacob Devaney, instrumental in the U18s’ successful campaign, has also signed professional terms, reflecting the club’s confidence in his potential.

Additionally, four academy players have been integrated into first-team training under manager Ruben Amorim, highlighting the club’s dedication to providing pathways for young talents.

Another academy talent has now put pen to paper as Bendito Mantato is set to sign his first professional contract for Manchester United next week, reveals Academy Scoop on X.

The 17-year-old is held in high regard by the club, with Ruben Amorim keen to hand him a first-team debut before the season’s end.

Bendito Mantato will sign a new contract until June 2029, with Jason Wilcox being key to getting the agreement done, as per Fabrizio Romano.

This commitment is a testament to the club’s confidence in his potential and their intent to secure his future amidst interest from other Premier League clubs.

Mantato’s journey has been marked by adaptability.

Initially deployed as a left-back, he transitioned to the right-wing, a move that has paid dividends.

His attacking prowess was on full display during a standout performance against Blackburn Rovers, where he netted four goals in a 5-2 victory for the Under-18s.

This remarkable feat emphasised his offensive capabilities and cemented his reputation as a rising star within the academy.

His style of play has drawn comparisons to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, highlighting his ability to influence the game from wide positions.

Such parallels speak volumes about his potential impact at higher levels of competition.

The arrival of manager Ruben Amorim at Manchester United could further accelerate Mantato’s progression.

Amorim’s tactical preference for utilizing young, dynamic wing-backs aligns well with Mantato’s skill set.

Observers have noted that Mantato’s attributes mirror those of Geovany Quenda, a 17-year-old winger who flourished under Amorim at Sporting CP.

This similarity suggests that Mantato could be integrated into the first-team setup sooner rather than later, especially given Amorim’s track record of promoting youth talent.

In the U18 Premier League, he has made 10 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist.

Additionally, he featured in the FA Youth Cup, making 1 appearance.

Mantato’s consistent performances have also earned him playing time with the Under-21 squad, where he has made 1 appearance in the National League Cup.

Furthermore, United’s coaching staff has expressed optimism about Mantato’s future.

His relentless work ethic, combined with his technical abilities, positions him as a candidate for first-team opportunities in the near future.

As the club continues to emphasise the development of homegrown talent, Mantato’s ascent serves as a beacon of the academy’s enduring success.

Bendito Mantato embodies the promise and potential that Manchester United’s academy strives to cultivate.

His recent agreement to scholarship terms, coupled with his on-field performances and the club’s managerial philosophy, suggest that he is on a trajectory toward making a meaningful impact at Old Trafford.

As he continues to develop, supporters and analysts alike will be keenly watching his journey unfold.

  • Manchester United identify Ruben Amorim’s prime summer target

Manchester United have been scouring Europe for reinforcements to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s side for next season.

The Red Devils have had a shocking season, failing to fight their way into the top half of the Premier League table.

United’s consistent injuries have been a huge factor in this, with Amorim trying to shape the squad from the 4-2-3-1 formation they were assembled for to 3-4-3.

Now, the summer transfer window is United’s next opportunity to bring in players who already fit with Amorim’s style of play.

The Red Devil’s recruitment team have already identified a prime target in the form of Francisco Trincao.

The Sun has reported that United have made the Sporting CP winger one of their key target’s with Amorim “desperate” to sign him.

However, there may be some complications affecting any movement for the winger.

United’s financial hardships are well known, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe claiming that without his involvement, the club would be bust by Christmas.

As such, a big money move is out of the question unless United make some major sales and qualifies for the Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Whilst Sporting signed Trincao for £6 million from Barcelona in 2023, the LaLiga giants included a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back clause of £20.8 million.

With his contract running through to summer 2026, this summer is the last chance Sporting will have to sell the star without extending his contract.

However, the club are reportedly still holding out on offers in the realms of his release clause which stands at £66.5 million.
