Porto B’s young sensation, Ussumane Djalo, is currently on the radar of Manchester United, as per reports from The Daily Mail.

This 19-year-old midfielder, hailing from Guinea, has been the subject of interest from a host of English clubs, thanks to his performances in the UEFA Youth League.

Djalo, who is part of Portugal’s Under 19 team, has been creating a buzz with his skillful play, leading to scouts from Manchester United, Brighton, Everton, and Southampton being seen at Porto’s youth matches in recent months.

Despite a release clause set at £8 million, there’s speculation that Djalo could be secured for a lower fee. As a talented deep-lying midfielder,

Djalo’s potential is evident, and his release clause presents an opportunity for wealthier English clubs to snap him up.

In the current season, Djalo has appeared seven times for Porto B and has been particularly notable in the UEFA Youth League, as per stats by transfermarkt.com.

In just five appearances in this competition, he has already scored a goal and provided two assists. His standout performance includes scoring in Porto’s 4-1 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Another highlight was his involvement in Porto youth’s remarkable 4-0 win against Barcelona’s youth squad.

Djalo’s international experience is also noteworthy, having played for his country at under 15, 17, and 19 levels.

His consistent performance suggests it won’t be long before he advances to under 21 and potentially to the senior national team, considering his swift ascent in the football world.

Manchester United seems poised to acquire the services of a promising Glasgow-based goalkeeper in what could be a landmark move this month.

Sources from Daily Record, known for its authoritative coverage of football in Scotland, have indicated that Callan McKenna, the young goalkeeper from Queens Park, is on the verge of signing with the Old Trafford squad.

At just 17 years old, McKenna, a native of Rutherglen, has already established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Spiders and has played for Scotland’s under 17 and under 18 national teams.

The report suggests that the Red Devils are in the latter stages of discussions to finalise McKenna’s transfer, a deal that is expected to bring a significant six-figure amount to the Championship side, with potential additional payments that could augment the transfer fee.

Manchester United has been monitoring McKenna for a considerable period and appears to be nearing the completion of the deal.

The pursuit of McKenna wasn’t without competition. It’s understood that Manchester United had to contend with interest from other top-tier Premier League teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea, in their bid to secure the young goalkeeper.

McKenna, a product of Hibs’ youth system who joined Queens Park at the age of 12, had previously been associated with a move to Leicester City.

He was even invited to train with the team that clinched the Premier League title in 2016, but a transfer to Leicester did not come to fruition.

Manchester United’s squad has been grappling with injury woes throughout the season, leaving them without several key players for significant stretches.

However, the team is looking at January as a turning point, with multiple players set to return from injuries.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that a group of players, including Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, and Tyrell Malacia, are on the cusp of being match-fit by January’s end.

Both Casemiro, struggling with a hamstring issue, and Martinez, sidelined due to a foot injury, have been out of action for a considerable period but are expected to regain their fitness by the month’s close.

Malacia’s absence has also been notably lengthy, owing to undergoing two knee surgeries. His steady progress in recovery is one of the reasons behind Sergio Reguilon’s return to Tottenham.

Mount and Maguire, dealing with shorter-term injuries, haven’t played since November 11 and December 12.

Looking ahead, United is set to face Wigan in the FA Cup’s third round on Monday.

  • Amad Diallo tipped to move to another Championship club despite managerial uncertainty

After impressing during his loan at Sunderland, Amad was poised for a significant role at Manchester United in the 2023/24 season. His pre-season performances in the United States were promising until an injury in a match against Arsenal disrupted his momentum.

The setback saw Amad sidelined for a few months, only recently returning in a game against Nottingham Forest. Substituting Antony in the 53rd minute, the 21-year-old Ivorian displayed encouraging signs of his potential contributions to the team.

Carlton Palmer, the former England international, shared his insights with Football League World regarding Amad’s future.

He said, “Amad Diallo had a successful spell at Sunderland last season where he was their player of the season and he was absolutely outstanding. He picked up a knee injury in pre-season that’s kept him out.”

Palmer continued, “He’s fully fit now. He really enjoyed his time at Sunderland but he was working under Tony Mowbray, and he made it clear that he would go back to work for Tony Mowbray.

“This could put a spanner in the works because although Sunderland are keen to sign him, if Tony Mowbray gets the Birmingham job then I’m sure Amad will be keen to join him there.”

He also noted interest from other clubs, adding, “Leicester City are apparently interested in signing the player, and if he’s got the chance of playing for a side that’s going to get back to the Premier League, then of course he’s going to be interested in going there.”

  • Why Manchester United didn’t sign Timo Werner explained

Tottenham Hotspur is on the verge of finalising a loan deal for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, aiming to enhance Ange Postecoglou’s offensive line-up.

Werner, who previously played for Chelsea, will be at Spurs until the season’s conclusion, with an option for Tottenham to make the move permanent if successful.

This development sees Tottenham edge out Manchester United, who had also shown interest in the German striker.

However, United’s pursuit has cooled, with Italian media reports stating this was because there is uncertainty at Old Trafford about the type of striker they wish to add in the January window.

Erik ten Hag’s United squad is in urgent need of bolstering their attack, having only managed to score 22 goals in 20 games this season.

Despite the £72m acquisition of Rasmus Hojlund, the team has struggled with goal-scoring. Hojlund has only found the back of the net once in the Premier League this term, and even last season’s leading scorer, Marcus Rashford, has scored just three times in the league.

In defense of his strikers, Ten Hag stated last month: “I know Rashford can score a goal, [Rasmus] Hojlund can score a goal, Antony can score a goal, Garnacho can score a goal, Bruno [Fernandes] can score a goal, Scott McTominay can score a goal.

“We have the scoring abilities in our squad, and also from set plays, but in this moment we are not doing that. They have to stick together and also believe in themselves that they can do it.”

With Werner’s imminent move to Spurs, United must now turn their attention to other potential signings.

Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, who has had an impressive start in the Bundesliga, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Another prospect is Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich, who is reportedly considering a loan switch to Old Trafford following limited playtime under Bayern’s coach Thomas Tuchel.

  • Fabrizio Romano claims transfer target is probably too expensive for Manchester United

In the latest transfer news, a move for Benfica’s Antonio Silva seems unlikely for major clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea in this January window, as per insights from Fabrizio Romano.

Romano has highlighted that Benfica is not inclined to part with the 20-year-old talent during the mid-season window.

Speaking with CaughtOffside, he remarked, “A deal that probably won’t be happening this January, however, is one for Antonio Silva. Despite latest rumours about Chelsea, I’m hearing no updates so far and all sources expect any deal to be more than difficult in January as Benfica don’t want to sell him.”

Manchester United, who have been keeping tabs on Silva, finds the prospect of a January deal financially prohibitive.

Romano confirmed, “Manchester United have scouted him multiple times and he remains one of the players they like but not for now, he’s probably going to be too expensive in January.”

The urgency for reinforcements in United’s squad has been underscored by a challenging season and the evident gaps in their lineup, particularly in the absence of an injured Lisandro Martinez.

While the possibility of Silva joining United remains uncertain, the club might need to consider offloading some players to make such a high-profile acquisition financially viable, ensuring compliance with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Tottenham News notes that Manchester United is intensely pursuing Vermeeren, with their scouts actively engaged in a battle with Tottenham for the young star’s signature.

  • La Liga side looking to sign Facundo Pellistri on permanent deal this January

Erik ten Hag is reportedly open to the idea of Facundo Pellistri departing Old Trafford in the current transfer window.

As per a report from the Sun, there is a strong interest from Villarreal in acquiring the 22-year-old on a permanent basis.

They’ve renewed their interest in Pellistri, who previously had two loan stints at Alaves in Spain’s premier division.

Villarreal, also known as the Yellow Submarine, had considered signing him in the previous summer.

Interest in Pellistri isn’t limited to Villarreal. OGC Nice is also keen on bringing him on board, eyeing a loan deal that would last until the season’s conclusion.

Additionally, there have been connections with Sevilla, and it’s possible that other clubs that expressed interest in the summer might re-enter the fray for his signature.

United’s current preference is a loan move for Pellistri. The club is hopeful that a successful spell elsewhere could elevate his market value, leading to a lucrative future transfer.

Offensively, the Red Devils have underperformed this season, with a mere 22 goals in the Premier League.

In light of this, Ten Hag is eager to reorganise his squad, viewing the potential transfer of Pellistri as an opportunity to free up space for a more impactful forward.

  • Manchester United sent scouts to watch former Real Madrid defender

According to The Sun, Manchester United is reportedly setting their sights on bolstering their full-back options this January, with a particular focus on the left-back position following Sergio Reguilon’s recent exit.

The Sun has revealed that United’s scouting team has been keeping a close watch on Miguel Gutierrez, the 22-year-old Spanish left-back who has been making waves at Girona.

Their interest has intensified following his impressive performances, including a standout display in a dramatic 4-3 victory over Atletico Madrid, which has helped fuel Girona’s unexpected title push.

Gutierrez, a key player in Girona’s starting lineup, has already clocked up 20 appearances this season, contributing one goal and three assists. His journey to Girona began at Real Madrid’s academy, where he made nine appearances in La Liga for the senior team.

His move to Girona in the summer of 2022 has seen him develop into one of the league’s most effective full-backs, with his performances this season earning him plaudits as possibly the division’s top player in that role.

United’s interest in Gutierrez is driven by his high footballing intelligence and his prowess in attacking play, according to The Sun’s report.

But United isn’t alone in their admiration for the young full-back. AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be monitoring him, with Dortmund’s £10.5 million bid in the summer having been rejected, as per The Sun.

Despite being under contract with Girona until June 2027, a £22 million offer could potentially persuade the club to release him.

However, Real Madrid’s involvement complicates any potential deal. They retain 50% of Gutierrez’s rights and have a sell-on clause in place.

This arrangement gives Madrid the option to either re-sign Gutierrez, potentially to sell on for a profit, or to match any bid made by United to bring him back to their squad.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Hannibal Mejbri close to signing for La Liga outfit Sevilla

CenteDevils understands that Hannibal Mejbri is on the verge of a move to Sevilla, the details of the deal have not been disclosed but our sources tell us the move is very much on and looking a real possibility, we believe it’s going to be a simple loan deal but there is potential of adding an option to buy.

We also understand that Hannibal is favouring the option, as he seeks regular football and is keen to play in La Liga this season.

Currently positioned at 16th in La Liga and no longer in European competition, Sevilla is focusing on a more robust performance in the latter half of the season.

Continuing their current struggles could soon lead them into the throes of a relegation fight, a stark contrast to their achievement of eliminating United from the Europa League, as Sevilla did the previous season.
