  • Sir Jim Ratcliffe gives his stance on signing Mbappe

Speaking as a guest on the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast, new Manchester United part owner was asked about the prospect of making big money signings including Kylian Mbappé who will be in the market come August.

“I would rather sign the next Mbappé rather than spend a fortune buying success. It’s not that clever buying Mbappé. Anyone could figure that one out. More challenging is to find the next Mbappé or next Bellingham or next Roy Keane.” he cleverly answered.

He also subtly hinted at keeping ten Hag at the helm come the summer as he praised Arsenal’s patience with manager Mikel Arteta. He combined said praise jokingly adding he would like the London side to win the Premier League.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City: “I hate them all … they’re all the enemy.” He went on to say of a prospective Arsenal title win: “It would be good for Arteta, actually. It would be good for him because he’s done really well and Arsenal have been patient with him, which is nice as well.” were his exact remarks.

Manchester United are gearing up for a busy first summer under Ratcliffe and INEOS.

He has already set up a solid structure with directors and already has plans to regenerate the iconic Old Trafford.

“The two people who are most focused on it would be Dave and myself, in terms of how we resolve it all,” Ratcliffe mentioned with regard to key decisions going forward.

“We’ve now got Omar Berrada of course, our new CEO from Manchester City, who is still on gardening leave at the moment, he’ll be a big part of it. But it’s Dave and myself really, and we have a daily chat… It’s never a short chat with Dave, is it?” he concluded.

It will be interesting to see how things and this first summer turns out in this mega rebuild.

  • Man United captain Bruno Fernandes greenlights £100m transfer

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is of the opinion that his national teammate Joao Neves is ready for that big move were the club to approach the youngster.

Speaking to Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV, the United skipper lauded the 19-year-old, terming him as ‘ready’ for a move to one of the big interested clubs.

“He is an excellent player, he’s with the national team… that’s also why the big clubs are after him.” Bruno stated.

It is not the first time the Magnifico has openly stated he would love to be on the same team as young Neves.

“It has to be the Man United coach who says whether he has a place or not,” he said back in November. “He’s a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not. It depends on the coach and his ideas.

“But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional, he will have a bright future wherever he goes. I would love to have him by my side. Because he has quality and will have a bright future. Bruno commented last November.

The Red Devils have been interested in the Benfica man for a while now and Benfica had to release a refusal statement just two months ago.

“Sport Lisboa e Benfica denies the existence of any right of first refusal over its player João Neves,” they said. “Under no circumstances has Sport Lisboa e Benfica entered into talks with Manchester United or any other club about this player from its youth academy – nor does it intend to do so – so any information to the contrary is false.” was Benfica’s statement in full.

The young lad is hot property around Europe and has even been likened to PSG legend and midfield wizard Marco Veratti.

Neves has a €120 million release clause and whatever club wants him enough will have to break the bank and then some.

  • Barca pull out of race for £80m Premier League midfielder leaving Man Utd as favorites

According to a report from Sport, Barcelona have allegedly pulled out of the race for highly-rated Everton midfielder Amadou Onana. The Catalan giants are in the middle of a financial crisis, ergo Everton’s price demands are a major deterrent.

Barça dropping out means Manchester United are now in prime position to sign Onana.

The big midfielder signed for Everton from Lille 2 years ago for £33m and has since become a very important player for the Toffees.

His performances have caught the attention of several top sides and at the age of 22, his suitors believe he could go on to become a world-class player in the future.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona have been most linked with the Belgian and with this recent development, Arsenal and Manchester United are now in the driver’s seat.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reported to be very keen on replacing Casemiro who is on his last legs and nearing the twilight of his career and Onana would be a great replacement.

Onana is just aggressive as United’s Brazilian destroyer and loves to battle to win possession. His front-footed style enables him to intercept passes or recover any loose ball, then retain possession and progress forward.

United are set for a major shake-down in the summer, with massive exits expected, including Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen. It is also reported that the club will be looking to cash in on midfielder and top scorer Scott McTominay.

If that will be the case, Bruno and Casemiro will be the only senior recognized midfielders in the squad as Kobbie Mainoo is still developing, however special he is.

TEAMtalk confirms that Everton will be seeking an amount in the region of £80m. The Toffees will need to pay 20% of any sell on fee to Lille – which has increased Onana’s price tag. This was agreed as part of the deal that saw the midfielder move to Goodison Park.

  • Manchester United midfielder tells ten Hag he is unhappy at the club

Danish midfielder Christian has confirmed that he has spoken to manager Erik ten Hag about his playing time and how he is troubled by his lack of playing time.

He has seen his playing time greatly reduced compared to last season on account of the emergence of young Kobbie Mainoo who has been an absolute revelation to ten Hag’s midfield.

Speaking to Danish media outlet Tipsbladet, the midfield maestro explained how frustrated he has felt from not playing but all the while respecting the new role.

“I have previously stated that I am not satisfied with not playing, but it’s not something that keeps me up at night,” Eriksen told the media outlet.

“The team is performing, and I must respect the role you have alongside. For my part, it has been about working hard and focusing on being fresh for every game, and I am. It is easier now to accept my role than it would have been before.” he concluded this time referencing respecting his new role in the team.

Eriksen joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer and was absolutely instrumental in last season’s 3rd place finish and Carabao Cup win. He formed a fantastic relationship with captain Bruno at the heart of midfield.

The Danish Maestro also confirmed he has spoken to manager ten Hag on his playing situation and how he is currently unhappy with his playing time, especially with the Euros coming up.

“I have had a conversation with Erik about being unhappy with the situation and wanting to play as much as possible, but I am available and need to be available for the team, which I am and always will be,” he stated.

“Of course, you can be concerned in the long run because I want to play as much as possible. Naturally, you don’t want to always sit on the bench. I don’t have that approach to it, but it’s not something that worries me right now.

“Often, when you change teams and win, you don’t change the winning team, and I respect that.” he concluded.

  • Manchester United reportedly reach a €50m agreement for Barca superstar

A recent report from Spanish publication Todo Fichajes alleges that Manchester United have supposedly been in full negotiations over signing Barcelona winger Raphinha.

According to the report, everything seems set for the Brazilian to move to Old Trafford this summer.

An agreement in principle of a €50million deal has allegedly been reached between the United and the Catalan giants.

Barcelona will most likely be making lots of sales this summer to generate revenue as they seek to recover from an economic mess, and the Brazilian winger may be a viable sale option.

Raphinha has always been an exciting prospect, although he is yet to hit the heights of potential he occasionally shows.

The left-footed Brazil international has returned 37 goal contributions in 78 matches for Barça, which translates to almost a goal or assist every other game.

These stats perhaps do him justice, and it goes without say that he has done well enough to deserve much more credit.

The emergence of teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has indeed clouded the winger’s future at Barça and this, coupled with how desperately Barça needs to make sales, Raphinha could be well on his way out of the Nou Camp.

Rather than lose their top tier young talents like Gavi or Pedri, or their guaranteed starters like Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona will be looking to offload secondary parts of their squad like the Brazilian.

Raphinha rose to prominence during a dazzling two-year spell with Leeds and more than proved he’s capable of making a huge impact in the Premier League.

These reports if true make sense and could be beneficial for both side: Barça get to make some well-need revenue and United get a right-winger, whom they desperately need.

That position for United has been in disarray for the longest time, especially after the banishment of Mason Greenwood, who was favourite to make that position his own for the next decade.

His supposed replacement Antony has rendered his astonishing £81.3m price tag a daylight robbery on account of how underwhelming he has been.

The NXGN list is an annual list that features the best young talents in world football born after January 1st 2005.

The list is proper global this year, covering all 5 continents and over 17 countries, with all potential world beaters listed on here. Be on the lookout for these youngsters as they light up major tournaments this year.

Notable list-topping talents in the past include sparkling talents like Los Blancos mercurial duo Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo.

Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho has been on top of this list as well.

This year’s list features emerging United talent Kobbie Mainoo in an impressive 7th. Considering this is still his first season in senior football, it is very impressive.

Finding a central midfielder who can do it all is very, very hard but finding one who does it with such effortless grace and panache is nigh on impossible. How the youngster glides through opposing midfields without breaking a sweat is reminiscent of one Paul Pogba.

It is still very early in his United career, but it is safe to say the Red Devils have finally found a midfielder who can effortlessly control games and tempo.

The way the young man conducts himself in the midfield has all-watching asking to see his birth certificate to confirm he really is only 18 years old. The composure, poise and confidence he exudes is unheard of and unseen in a teenager.

Mainoo had proper impressed in pre-season, and it was expected he would be in ten Hag’s plans for the season, but he went down with an injury in said pre-season that ruled him out for 3 months.

He then put the whole world on notice with a picture-perfect midfield display in his full Premier League debut at Everton in November.

His displays since have been sterling, even winning Premier League Goal of The Month for February for that euphoric goal against Wolves to win it 4-3 in stoppage time.

The young midfield general has been rewarded with a call-up to the Three Lions squad for the friendlies in this international break.

With the talent he is already displaying at only 18, it is unfathomable just how much potential he has and what a player he will be when he is fully developed.

What is for sure is United have a generational talent on their hands, and they best protect him with all they have and build around him.

  • Manchester United to offer up Harry Maguire for a player swap with West Ham

Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was on the verge of leaving Old Trafford for West Ham last season. It was reported last season that the 2 clubs had agreed on a £30 million deal last season before it fell through in the final stages.

A recent report from Daily Express, claims that the Red Devils are trying to work out a potential deal that would see Maguire leave the club and Brazilian wizard Lucas Paqueta coming their way.

West Ham United will be in the market for a centre back come the summer, and a player of Maguire’s quality would be heaven sent for Moyes and his side.

Paqueta may be amenable to a move away from London Stadium, as he had already agreed a move to Manchester City last season.

A player swap package along with some cash would be tempting to West Ham according to Man United hierarchy, and they feel they will be the winners of that potential deal.

The Brazilian has consistently performed for West Ham United since he arrived in 2022.

Paqueta is a household name in the Brazilian National Team, appearing 49 times since his debut in 2018.

After losing Declan Rice to Arsenal last summer, West Ham fans will be desperate to keep hold of arguably their best player.

It is well documented that West Ham boss David Moyes is a huge fan of Maguire, and it is not far-fetched he will make another move for the big centre back.

The 31-year-old has had a decent upturn in form this season, making 24 appearances for his club, scoring two goals.

United have the option to extend this contract but are likely to offload him, providing funds for a summer of signings.

A player-plus-cash deal may suit both parties this summer, although Man City may be a major obstacle in the deal as Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of Paqueta, and he may try to finally nab him for good.

  • Florentino Perez eyeing Manchester United youngster

According to a report by Spanish publication Real Madrid Exclusivo, Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Manchester United gem Alejandro Garnacho.

According to the report, Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez is a huge fan of the young lad Garnacho and is hoping to have a talk with the young attacker in their next trip to Manchester to face City rivals Man City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Garnacho’s stocks have tripled over the past couple of months since his manager Erik ten Hag thrust him into the limelight.  The young Argentine has been one of the few bright spots for United in an otherwise very, very bleak season.

In the past few months, the 19-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet and has shown enough talent, promise and pedigree to be one of the best talents the Premier League has ever seen.

In what has been a very productive season for the teenager, he has contributed 11 goals in 38 appearances which is a very respectable return by all accounts.

His displays have caught the eye of top European clubs, among them Real Madrid, according to this latest publication.

The Spanish giants have reportedly been closely monitoring his growth and progress over the last 12 months and would be very keen on acquiring his signature.

It goes without say that young Garnacho is an absolute keep for ten Hag and Man United. Talent like him do not come around often, and it behoves them to keep hold of him.

This is off the back of a sparkling display in the F.A Cup against bitter rivals Liverpool.

Young Garnacho ran his socks off for 120 minutes even with a hamstring injury and ended up assisting the winning goal with virtually his last kick of the ball.

Garnacho signed a new contract last year that keeps him at Old Trafford until at least 2028.

  • Spanish giants meet Man Utd to discuss Greenwood’s future

Recent chatter has listed Atlético Madrid and Barcelona as potential suitors for dishonoured Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the Red Devils were not trying to work out a deal with Barcelona for a potential transfer leaving the floor to Atlético Madrid.

“Despite a meeting in recent days between Manchester United’s directors and Barcelona director Deco, we can say that Barcelona are not working on a deal to sign Mason Greenwood,” Romano said.

A recent publication of Todo Fichajes however stated that Madrid club Atleti have recently had a meeting with United to discuss Greenwood’s future.

Atlético Madrid could be a good opportunity for the young attacker to rebuild his career outside England and if the reports are true, initial discussions over a deal have been held.

He has been on loan a Getafe all season and his fine form in Spain has perhaps reaffirmed potential suitors that he still is quality.

It is very unlikely that Greenwood will find his way back into the Manchester United squad and as it stands, a future in Spain seems the most probable outcome.

Fabrizio Romano had recently confirmed United will not let him back into the squad, and it seems set they will let go of him.

“There have been many rumours in Spain about that as Greenwood has been doing very well on loan at Getafe and I can confirm that Manchester United are ready to let Greenwood leave.

“Greenwood can leave if Man United receive a good proposal, but for now Barcelona have different ideas and different priorities, so they are not working on the Greenwood deal. United will look for other solutions because they want to find a buyer for Greenwood,” Romano stated.

With Barcelona no longer in the running, Madrid giants Atleti remain the most probable destination for Greenwood, especially after these fresh reports of a meeting between the two clubs.

  • Manchester United to battle Liverpool and Arsenal for €60million attacking target

A recent report from German publication Bild, confirms that Liverpool and Arsenal are the latest clubs to join the race for Dortmund attacker Donyell Malen.

According to the report, Borussia Dortmund could let go of the 25-year-old Dutchman for something in the region of €60million.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had recently confirmed Manchester United’s interest in Malen even adding what a good relationship they have with Malen’s agents as they also represent United manager Erik ten Hag.

€60million is not too steep a price for such versatility and considering he is still only 25, his better years are well ahead of him.

Despite their evident interest, Liverpool perhaps need his services the least with such a star-studded attack. They will be looking to add Malen to an already sparkling ensemble of attacking talent.

Perhaps their concerns mainly lie within Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz being injury prone.

Arsenal on the other hand would do quite well with such a talent.

They have been playing perhaps the best football in England, and it feels like a proper attacker is the missing piece in what would be an all-conquering team.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have not been delivering output worthy of a top 6 side, and Malen could bring the goals the duo cannot produce. The former has also had issues staying fit all season.

Manchester United will now have to battle rivals Liverpool and Arsenal for his signature if a deal is to happen come the summer.

The Red Devils however seem to be best poised to make this deal happen. The joining link that is ten Hag and Malen sharing an agency could prove very crucial should United pursue the transfer.

The Mancunian club also have another bargaining chip in Jadon Sancho. It has been rumoured that BVB would be open to a player swap for Sancho as they are keen to keep the Englishman beyond his loan. A Malen-Sancho swap would be a win-win for both clubs.
