  • Fabrizio Romano provides update on Rasmus Hojlund future

Ruben Amorim is already planning for a crucial summer at Manchester United, with player sales expected to shape the club’s transfer activity.

The Red Devils are eyeing a new striker and are considering multiple options, including Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who has a £30 million release clause that becomes active if the Championship side are relegated.

Amorim’s recruitment team reportedly see Delap as an upgrade on the current crop of strikers, including Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, both of whom have failed to hit the heights expected this season.

Zirkzee, on loan from Bologna, is attracting interest in Italy once again, and a return to Serie A could be on the cards for the Dutchman.

However, all signs now point to another forward being pushed closer to the Old Trafford exit door.

Rasmus Hojlund, signed for an initial £64 million last summer, is drawing strong interest from Serie A, with Napoli, AC Milan, and Juventus all monitoring his situation, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reports that clubs are “ready to start concrete contacts” if Manchester United open the door to a summer sale, with Napoli believed to be leading the chase.

The Italian outfit would reportedly be open to a part-exchange deal involving Hojlund and star striker Victor Osimhen, who has long been admired by United’s hierarchy.

While no formal negotiations have begun, the links are beginning to intensify as United’s pursuit of a new No. 9 gains momentum.

Juventus and Milan are also said to still rate Hojlund highly despite his patchy form in England, having scored just three league goals this season.

Yet, United face a tricky financial dilemma.

Due to amortisation accounting, the club would need to receive at least £38.4 million for Hojlund to avoid taking a hit on Financial Fair Play regulations.

Given the financial constraints of Serie A sides, a loan exit or part-swap appears more realistic unless a significant offer is tabled.

If Hojlund does depart, it would pave the way for a new lead striker at Old Trafford, with Amorim expected to make that position a top priority ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

  • Manchester United in talks with African wonderkid

Manchester United’s transfer strategy under the new ownership of Ineos has shifted towards a more sustainable and youth-focused approach.

With the financial backing of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and a new vision for the club’s future, United are looking to build a squad that is not only competitive today but for years to come.

The focus has been on acquiring young, talented players with the potential to develop into world-class stars.

This new approach has seen the club invest heavily in promising talent, with a clear emphasis on scouting young players from around the globe.

So far, United’s transfer activity has seen the acquisition of several exciting young players.

Diego Leon, the Paraguayan defender, has been brought in, while the likes of Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin have also been added to the ranks.

These acquisitions highlight United’s new strategy of investing in the future, making it clear that the club is building with a long-term vision in mind.

In line with this shift in focus, one of the most intriguing talents currently under Manchester United’s radar is Soungalo Coulibaly.

The Mali U17 star will have a major opportunity to impress this Friday when Mali faces Tunisia in the U17 AFCON quarter-final, a match that could see him catch the eyes of even more scouts.

AfricaFoot has reported that Manchester United scouts have been closely following his performances during the group stage of the tournament, and discussions are already underway to secure his future at the club.

Soungalo Coulibaly has impressed with his blistering pace, technical ability, and dribbling skills, leaving a strong impression on those watching him with his side Yeleen Olympique.

His ability to break through defences has been a standout feature, and it’s no surprise that clubs like Tottenham, Salzburg, and Sturm Graz are also interested.

However, United seem particularly keen to bring him into their academy, with reports suggesting they are willing to make a significant offer to ensure they win the race for his signature.

The young Malian has the potential to be a huge asset for the Red Devils, and securing him could further solidify United’s commitment to building a squad with a strong foundation of future stars.

  • Exclusive: How close is Amad Diallo to returning?

Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo has excited fans last night after United posted brand new pictures of the 22 year old during his recovery.

The framework and flexibility provided by Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 / 3-4-2-1 system have allowed Diallo to flourish.

He can play as the right-sided wingback who strikes a mix between defensive duties and attacking flair as well as in the right sided attacking midfielder position in which his creative making comes in significance.

His ability to win duels and his constant pressing intensity contributed to giving his game a new dimension.

He has developed into a player who can impact games on both sides of the ball, which makes him useful in contemporary tactical arrangements.

During a February training session, the winger suffered an ankle injury that United’s head coach Ruben Amorim stated would keep him out for the rest of the season.

While many online sources are alluding that Amad Diallo is back to training, but that’s not quite the case.

CentreDevils can exclusively confirm that Amad Diallo is ahead of schedule and scheduled to return on grass training within the next few weeks.

However, despite rumours of Amad being back on grass already, this is not the case.

The Ivorian is still in his strength and rehabilitation part of his recovery and is focusing his work within the gym.

An image of Amad posted online kicking a ball isn’t reflective of him returning to playing on the pitch.

United are aiming for a return back on the pitch for early May – barring any last minute setbacks.

Amad Diallo’s future at Manchester United is outlined in a plan full of expectations and potential.

This is evident in the fact despite being out since February, Amad is still ranked statically just second within the United squad behind Bruno Fernandes.

Based on his development trajectory, he is poised to become a crucial part of United’s attack both in the long term and in the current moment.

With Kobbie Mainoo returning from injury in recent days, having both him and Amad Diallo will be a huge boost for Amorim as we enter the final days of the season and a potential UEFA Europa League final looming.

  • Manchester United identify Liam Delap alternative

Manchester United’s recruitment team is scouring the market for potential attacking reinforcements as they continue their search for a striker ahead of next season.

The Red Devils are weighing up several options, with a few key names on their radar, including young talents from the Premier League.

With Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee currently leading the line, competition for places will only intensify as the transfer window nears.

United are particularly focused on securing a more prolific forward to help bolster their offensive strength.

Manchester United looking at Jean-Philippe Mateta

According to GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United have kept a keen eye on Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, a striker who has impressed this season.

While they remain interested in other targets, such as Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, the Red Devils have not ruled out Jean-Philippe Mateta as a viable option for the summer.

Crystal Palace are reportedly holding out for at least £50 million for their star forward, who has been a key figure for the Eagles this campaign.

Mateta, 27, has shown consistent form and could provide a strong backup for Hojlund and Zirkzee, should the transfer discussions for other targets not come to fruition.

Despite being lower on the pecking order compared to Delap and Victor Osimhen, Mateta’s ability to offer strength and skill up top makes him a solid backup plan for United.

With the possibility of losing Marcus Rashford to Aston Villa at the end of his loan, United’s summer plans could get a boost, but they are still navigating their financial situation based on the outcome of their Europa League campaign.

If they fail to qualify for the Champions League, the Red Devils may have to adjust their budget and targets for the upcoming transfer window.

Mateta could very well emerge as a cost-effective option as United seeks to add more depth to their attacking options.

  • Ruben Amorim comments on Andre Onana and Nemanja Matic spat

Manchester United return to Europa League action this week with plenty of noise off the pitch threatening to steal the spotlight.

As Ruben Amorim prepares for the quarter-final first leg against Lyon, his team remains unbeaten in Europe this season.

United have scored in every Europa League match to date, with 21 goals from 10 games showing a level of consistency they haven’t been able to replicate domestically.

Despite Amorim’s impact, United still sit 13th in the Premier League and have struggled to control matches in England’s top flight.

The manager believes European football suits his squad’s tempo and style more than the physical, high-speed nature of the Premier League.

But all attention shifted away from tactics this week as tensions flared between Andre Onana and former United midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Nemanja Matic, who now plays for Lyon, unleashed a scathing verbal attack on the United goalkeeper, branding him “one of the worst goalkeepers in the history of Manchester United.”

The comment came in response to Onana’s confident claim that United are “way better” than their French opponents — a quote which made headlines in both England and France.

Onana quickly defended himself, posting on social media: “I would never be disrespectful to another club… At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world.

    “Some can’t say the same.”

While the FA Cup winner took the high ground publicly, the jab at Matic’s trophyless United spell was impossible to miss.

Amorim, a former teammate of Nemanja Matic at Benfica, moved to calm the situation by clarifying Onana’s full remarks.

“If you see the full quote of Andre Onana, it’s quite different.

“The first sentence is, ‘Lyon is a very, very good team,’” Amorim said.

He insisted that the war of words stemmed from a misunderstanding: “I know Matic also, he’s a great guy… tomorrow is gonna be a normal game.”

Amorim also praised Onana’s leadership and presence, stating: “Sometimes our group has to show confidence in our team, that’s all.”

Onana is expected to start against Lyon, while Altay Bayindir returns to the bench following injury.

With United’s European run intact and tensions high, Amorim will hope his squad can silence the noise with another big result on the pitch.

  • New Amad Diallo injury update provided

Ruben Amorim’s first season at Manchester United is shaping up to be a dramatic one, with injury concerns slowly turning into unexpected boosts.

United are preparing for their showdown with Lyon in the Europa League, a competition that may well define the trajectory of Amorim’s debut campaign in charge.

All eyes are on Kobbie Mainoo, who is back in full training after missing two months due to a calf injury. The young midfielder’s return is a timely lift as Amorim looks to strengthen his midfield options for the final stretch.

Amorim has exercised caution, though, stating that while Mainoo’s recovery is going well, “we have to be careful” as he reintegrates into the squad.

With the Lyon clash looming, the United boss is seeking every available edge to extend his team’s campaign and boost their momentum.

Now, he may have received another unexpected gift.

Amad Diallo returns to the gym

Amad Diallo, who has been out since suffering an ankle injury at Carrington in February, has been spotted working intensely in the gym.

The 22-year-old was expected to miss the rest of the season, with early reports suggesting his campaign was effectively over.

However, United fans were given hope after the club shared photos of the winger training at Carrington, captioned: “A sight that will brighten your Wednesday.”

Amad’s form before the injury had been nothing short of electric—he remains United’s second-highest goalscorer under Amorim despite missing nearly two months of action.

Amad Diallo was a consistent starter under the new manager, and his absence had left a noticeable void in United’s attacking rhythm.

Amorim hinted last month that he hadn’t ruled out a late-season return for the winger, saying, “Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month.

“I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season.”

With progress against Lyon still possible and domestic fixtures stacking up, Amad’s return could be perfectly timed.

If United manage to push deep into the Europa League, the pacey wide man may still have a crucial role to play before the curtain closes on 2024/25.

  • Manchester United predicted line-up for first leg against Lyon

Manchester United are planning for the first leg of their Europa League Quarter-Final with Lyon.

The match is already causing quite the stir, with United goalkeeper goalkeeper Andre Onana getting the Lyon squad fired up with some questionable comments.

The United keeper commented: “I think we’re better than them, we just have to go there and show who we are.

“If we go there with a winning mentality, if we’re focused, if we stay compact and united and if we follow the game plan, we’ll win the match.”

However, the French press have unanimously commented that all this will have done is rile up the Lyon side to fight even harder.

Lyon star Nemanja Matic even went so far to criticise Onana, calling him the worst Manchester United goalkeeper there’s been.

The former United man commented: “If you are one of the worst goalkeepers in Man United history, you need to take care what you are talking about.

“If David de Gea, or Peter Schmeichel, or (Edwin) Van der Sar said that, then I will question myself.

“But if you are one of the statistically worst goalkeepers in Man United modern history, he needs to show that (they’re better) before he says.”

So the stage is already set for a tense affair, but who will Ruben Amorim be fielding for the fight away from home.

Ruben Amorim’s team for the trip to Lyon

Whilst the team is expected to remain fairly consistent to their outing last weekend against Manchester City, the only change in the starting line-up is expected to be Joshua Zirkzee starting in place of Rasmus Hojlund.

The Danish striker had a quite day at Old Trafford in the Manchester Derby and Zirkzee grabbed his first European goal for United in their last away game against Real Sociedad.

However, the bench could see a bit of a reshuffle.

Luke Shaw is back once more, earning himself a seat on the plane to France, however how long he lasts before his next trip to the treatment room is another matter.

Alongside him Kobbie Mainoo is back fighting fit, and whilst he’s only just returned, could see an appearance coming off the bench.

Youngsters Godwill Kukonki, Jack Moorhouse and Jayden Kamason have also found themself on the plane to France today, however with the remaining talent on the bench, it’s unlikely they’ll get a run out.

  • Chelsea pull ahead of Manchester United in race to sign Championship leading star

Manchester United could be in for a huge summer as their long-term recruitment plans begin to take shape.

United will be exploring creative attacking options in the upcoming window.

Ruben Amorim and INEOS are both identifying forward reinforcements as a priority.

While other clubs are expected to compete for the same targets.

United are keeping close tabs on Championship stars capable of making the leap to the Premier League.

One top target however, may now be slipping away.

Chelsea front runners ahead of Manchester United for Jobe Bellingham

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are emerging as the front-runners in the pursuit of Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

That is despite strong interest from United, Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 19-year-old midfielder has made a big impression in the Championship this season.

He has showcased strength, versatility, and intelligence well beyond his years.

Bellingham’s name carries weight thanks to his brother Jude’s incredible rise.

However his performances for Sunderland are starting to stand on their own.

He has operated in several midfield roles this term.

Often providing physicality, composure, and attacking drive for a Sunderland side that continues to develop young players.

Chelsea’s interest is no surprise given their clear emphasis on recruiting top youth talent in recent windows.

Their project, which leans heavily on promising stars like Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez, could offer Bellingham a clearer route into the Premier League than some of their rivals.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

Chelsea are yet to make a formal approach.

However their recruitment team views Bellingham as an ideal long-term addition.

German giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest, continuing the Bellingham family’s strong connection with the Bundesliga.

    Sunderland are reluctant to sell.

Ultimately, growing pressure and the likelihood of formal bids from Premier League clubs could force their hand.

From a United perspective, Bellingham fits the mould of a player who could support Kobbie Mainoo in midfield.

While offering flexibility across Amorim’s double pivot or advanced roles.

If Chelsea act quickly, United may be forced into a difficult position.

Either matching a proposal or pivoting to alternative targets as their INEOS-backed rebuild continues.

  • Omar Berrada receives furious letter

Manchester United’s turbulent season took another turn following the latest clash at Old Trafford — not on the pitch, but in the stands.

After a goalless Manchester derby left fans frustrated, tensions boiled over as supporters staged a sit-in protest over controversial ticket price hikes and new season ticket policies.

The 1958, a prominent United supporters’ group, orchestrated the demonstration, which saw hundreds of fans remain in their seats post-match in peaceful protest.

The club sits in the bottom half of the Premier League table, and with critical World Cup qualifiers on the horizon for many internationals in the squad, fan discontent continues to rise amid poor performances and off-field uncertainty.

Ruben Amorim has made strides since his appointment, with signs of improvement across the team, but even with their solid performance against City, the lack of a clinical striker was once again exposed as Rasmus Hojlund struggled in front of goal.

Sunday’s result denied United a first league double over City since the 2019/20 campaign, despite having beaten them 2-1 at the Etihad earlier in the season.

While the stalemate was disappointing, it was the scenes after the final whistle that truly captured attention across the fanbase.

Footage circulated online showing a confrontation between stewards and fans during the protest in the Stretford End, which appeared to escalate as one fan was physically restrained by multiple security personnel.

The altercation has now prompted a formal investigation by the club, as confirmed by The Daily Mail.

The 1958 pens furious letter to Omar Berrada

The 1958 responded swiftly, penning a letter to United’s chief executive Omar Berrada demanding the immediate removal of CSG (Controlled Solutions Group) security from all home fixtures.

The group accused CSG staff of physically assaulting fans, using foul language, and acting in a threatening manner in full view of children and elderly supporters.

The letter reads: “We are writing to raise a formal and urgent complaint regarding the conduct of CSG Security operating in the East Sound Stand during the recent match at Old Trafford vs Manchester City on the 6th April, where a fan was participating in a peaceful protest as a concerned supporter.

“The club was made aware of the protest and were officially informed at the SAG by Steve Crompton who represented the 1958 on the 31st March.

“During this protest a fan was subjected to unacceptable behaviour by CSG Security, indiviudals who are meant to ensure safety and uphold respect within the stadium.

“He was phsycially assaulted by a steward without provacation, while others in the area were verbally abused with foul and aggressive language, all in full view of other fans, including young and elderly fans.

“The threatening nature of their conduct was not only unprofessional but completely disgraceful and we are outraged.”

It follows similar safety concerns earlier this season, when over 1,500 Rangers fans were allowed into home areas during a European fixture, again leading to backlash and internal reviews.

  • £25m Manchester United target receives clearance to play with Bruno Fernandes

INEOS are continuing to push Manchester United towards a youth-focused future with emphasis on long-term potential over short-term star power.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have made it clear that cost-cutting and smarter recruitment are priorities.

Therefore aiming to make first-team operations more sustainable.

That’s meant both promoting academy talent and seeking high-upside prospects in the market who can grow into top-level contributors.

One name previously revealed by CentreDevils to be on the club’s radar is Roger Fernandes.

The exciting Braga winger who has been tracked by the club since January.

United view the teenager as an immense talent and a possible solution to their long-term wide player needs.

Roger Fernandes approved to represent Portugal

Now, Fernandes has been officially cleared by FIFA to represent Portugal at international level.

It now opens the door for him to one day play alongside Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

The news was first reported by Sapo Desporto, who confirmed that Fernandes’ naturalisation process is complete and he is now eligible for the Selecao.

Guinea-Bissau had previously tried to secure his international future back in 2022.

However, Portugal have now won that tug-of-war.

This development only strengthens United’s pitch to the teenager.

Especially with Portuguese leadership already embedded at Old Trafford.

The clearance also arrives at a time when United are actively seeking alternatives to Geovany Quenda.

The Sporting winger who has opted to join Chelsea, despite strong interest from Ruben Amorim.

Fernandes, like Quenda, is a left-footed wide man capable of playing as a winger or wing-back on either side.

Braga are believed to want around £25million for the 18-year-old.

A fee significantly less than the £40million fee Chelsea paid for Quenda.

With a clear pathway to senior international football, Fernandes may now be viewed as the best-value alternative to the one that got away.
