Anambra 2025: Ifeanyi Ubah will set Anambra on the path of rapid development, industrialisation – aide

    By Ovat Abeng

Media aide to Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly Abuja, Mr. Kamen Chuks, has said that the ambition of the Senator to contest the 2025 governorship election in Anambra is to set the State on the path of rapid development and industrialization.

He said  the Senator, if elected, will industrialized the State in such that will compete with developed countries in the world.

Mr. Chuks disclosed this in an article title “Ikemba Is Coming, the hope inspiring mantra in ANAMBRA now, which he made available to Journalists in Awka on Monday.

According to him, Anambra under Ikemba’s watch, is going to witness a transcendental transformation policy from the current state government.

    The article read in part;

“There is this feeling of thrill and excitement emanating from the Ndi Anambra that has spread beyond political parties and beyond Anambra State, too.

“They now see hope at the end of the tunnel, with the heartwarming news of Ikemba’s coming.A decision that they have all resolved to collectively make in 2025.

“You will observe that lately, the Anambra state government driven by the fear of Ikemba’s coming, now celebrates every little  recognition from the APC-led federal government with so much joy and fanfare on social media that one begins to wonder whether this is not the same APC they branded evil and an anathema in the last election and even till date.

“The desperation in the acts of the “classless and clueless solution ” minority further heightened by the mantra; ‘Ikemba is coming’ which is spreading like wild fire, is becoming glaring even to the most naive segments of the society.

“Today, all manner of idle charlatans have been recruited by the state government and sent out to all media platforms as pseudo media influencers in a bid to change the prevalent and widespread belief that Ikemba is coming; a belief that is gaining supersonic crescendo; that Ikemba is the one to set Anambra State on the path of rapid development and industrialisation, such that will compete with developed countries in the world.

“But as has become customary with the Gov Soludo administration’s penchant for cutting corners and cheap articles,  a set of media carpenters with zero experience got handed the mandate of changing a narrative that has already resonated and sitting pretty with the masses of the state.

“Men of God, too, have gotten involved in the Ikemba project as revelations they received confirm divine endorsement of the project.

“To further buttress the divine endorsement, the Anambra ancestral warrior spirit started sending out its own endorsements via dreams to the various Obis and Ndi Igwe, and they, in turn, began a frenzy race to confer chieftaincy titles on the anointed and by so doing adopt him for their communities before the state government quickly applied threats to stop the rush.

“The great news is that Ikemba is coming with supersonic speed, and no force is strong enough to counter the forces pushing the movement without getting crushed.

“The Ikemba spirit is everywhere, including amongst the gatherings where different plots are being hatched by the haters of Anambra development. That is why we are always one step ahead of them. We hear all their plots while the law of nature handles the rest, as can be seen from the level of cluelessness and absurdity that emanates from the state government activities almost on a daily basis in recent times. Isaiah 54:15-17.

“Ikemba is coming, and Ndi Anambra will breathe easier and freer as they watch modernity envelop them, and crime become grossly unattractive while conditions of living and personal development get easier for everyone.

“Anambra under Ikemba’s watch, is going to witness a transcendental transformation from the current state government policy style of majoring in the minor and celebrating old-fashioned mediocre feats, to  embracing a new ideas based technologically developed commercial governance 80% of whose feats have not been witnessed by any previous administration in Nigeria.”

3 Anambra traditional rulers withdraw chieftaincy titles on Ifeanyi Ubah

    By Ovat Abeng

Three traditional rulers in Anambra State who bestowed chieftaincy titles on the senator representing Anambra South senatorial District Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, have withdrawn them.

There have been a long drawn battle between Ubah and the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, steming from the former’s quest to replace the later as governor.

Ubah had late last year joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), and he is touted to be APC’s joker for Soludo’s ouster.

Meanwhile, within the 2023 Christmas and New year celebrations, Ubah was bestowed with several chieftaincy titles by different traditional rulers in the state.

Among them are; Igwe F.E. Ebelendu of Aguluezechukwu in Aguata Local government area, Igwe Onwuamaeze Damian Ezeani of Neni in Anaocha Local government area and Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu of Ojoto in Idemili South local government area.

The monarchs bestowed the the senator the titles; Ikemba Ojoto (strength of Photo community), Odenjiinji Neni (Mystery of Neni Community)and Dike Eji Eje Ogu (warrior that can be taken to battle), respectively.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo noting Ubah’s growing influence moved to clips the wings of the traditional rulers who awarded the titles. Soludo started by suspending the erring traditional rulers, citing negligence of due process in awarding titles as contained in the traditional rulers’s council law.

But the traditional rulers involved have on Tuesday night tendered apologies to the governor and also withdrawn the titles.

In a press release by the Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr Christian Aburime, he said: “The monarchs have respectively apologized to Anambra State Government and withdrawn and cancelled the phantom chieftaincy titles conferred on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, as it contravenes the State Traditional Rulers’ law.”

The release further read: “This action by the three traditional rulers was in direct contravention of the State Traditional Rulers’ code, which outlines the rules and regulations regarding the granting and revocation of chieftaincy titles.

“Consequently, the titles of Ikemba Ojoto, Odenjiinji Neni and Dike Eji Eje Ogu earlier bestowed on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah have been withdrawn and cancelled by the three Igwes.

“This was contained in their respective letters of apology to the State Government which also confirmed the withdrawal and cancellation of the Chieftaincy titles which they variously described as nullity.”

The letters by the monarchs were also sighted by this our correspondent, where they withdrew the titles earlier conferred on Ubah.

Chieftaincy title: ‘Soludo envies me’ – Ifeanyi Ubah’s response to suspension of Anambra monarch

    By Ovat Abeng

The senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has reacted to the suspension of the traditional ruler of Neni, a community in Anaocha Local Government Area of the State.

A suspension letter by Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, accused HRM Igwe Damian Ezeani of not seeking clearance from the state government before bestowing titles on people, including ‘persons with questionable character.’

The monarch had, during the Yuletide, conferred on Senator Ubah the title of Odenjinji of Neni, which is similar to the title Soludo also holds in his Isuofia community.

In his reaction, Ubah,in a statement made available to Journalists in Awka, on Tuesday from his media office, said: “The entire game is all about politics. Soludo is frustrated by my rising popularity. I’m not the only person to receive a chieftaincy title. Former Chief of Army Staff Buratai was honoured within the same period; Vice President Kashim Shettima was also honoured; Mr President was honoured in absentia. Why is my own different?”

Uba added: “The governor is frustrated by my acceptance and popularity; he is jittery about the next governorship election, but I leave him to his conscience.”

Ubah, in October 2023, defected from the Young Progressives Party, YPP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC. He was later received into the party in December, alongside another popular grassroots politician, Senator Uche Ekwunife. This action set off an alarm about a possible alliance between the two to unseat Soludo in the 2025 governorship election.

This may have sparked some emotions among members of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the state government.

Anambra is one of the states that holds off-season elections. Its governorship election would be due in 2025.

Ifeanyi Ubah Condemns Killing Of YPP Ward Chairman In Anambra

    By Ovat Abeng

The Senator representating Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (APC), has condemned in strong terms, the gruesome murder of Chief Joseph Ezenwegbu(Joe Mohale), the Young Progressive Party YPP Chairman of Nanka ward 1 in Orumba North LGA of Anambra state.

The Paradise News had earlier reported that Mr Joseph Ezenwegbu was reportedly gunned down on Saturday night, a few moments after organising a meeting of the YPP stakeholders and party faithful, which received Hon Princess Chinwe Nnabuife in Nnaka.

Ubah while condemning the act in a statement, said “This is not the Anambra we know. This has shown the desperation of some political players in Anambra, and this is a dangerous trend that must be nipped in the bud as a matter of urgency by bringing the perpetrators to book.

“We condemn in strong terms this unfortunate incident, which, if not checked, will assume another dimension. It’s also uncalled for that anyone would threaten Hon.Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, the honourable member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for the rerun election in the Federal Constituency.

“It would be recalled that the Appeal Court had ordered a re-run election in some parts of Nanka community in  Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, following a petition filed challenging Hon. Nnabuife’s victory at the polls by a former occupant of the seat and the 2023 candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the same position, Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo.

“Hon. Nnabuife was declared winner of the election and sworn in after the 2023 General Election, while Hon. Ezenwankwo approached the court to declare him the winner. The question is, who is afraid of Hon.Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, and why the desperate resort to threat and gruesome killing?

“It’s unfortunate that those thugs that called the late Chief Joseph Ezenwegbu ( popularly known as Joe Mohale) a saboteur while carrying out the dastardly act, are the real saboteurs of the Nanka people’s right to freedom of association, belief and the other basic tenets freely exercised in all democratic societies. This gruesome killing has indeed drawn us back to the dark days of thuggery and maiming that the state witnessed in the era of the PDP in Anambra state, spanning from 1999-2006, which must not be allowed to resurface.

“This unfortunate incident has indeed thrown my supporters in the state into deep mourning, but we are not deterred as we will follow every legitimate means, to seek justice for Chief Ezenwegbu, our hero, who was murdered in active service.

“I commiserated with the family of the deceased and will take full responsibility for the burial, while also catering to the welfare of his immediate family left behind, including his only child Ifeanyichukwu, a three year old boy.

“We call on all our supporters in Nanka to remain calm and be rest assured that no stone will be left unturned in getting to the root of this dastardly act and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

“We also call on the security agencies to ensure that those who committed this heinous crime against humanity as well as their sponsors are arrested to face the full wrath of the law.

“We condole with the wife and family of the deceased and pray that God, in his infinite mercy, grants him eternal rest,” the statement concluded.

Ifeanyi Ubah to Soludo: You’ll do one term only as you did in CBN

    By Ovat Abeng

Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has described the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as a one-term governor.

Speaking through his media aide ,Chuks Kamen Ogbonna, Senator Ubah describes Soludo’s leadership in the State as lackluster.

He said Anambrarians had already started shopping for Soludo’s replacement just less than two years into his administration.

Ubah said, “It has become a thing of great concern to every reasonable Anambrarian that our dear Professor and one-term Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cannot point to one completed road project almost two years into his tenure.”

He alleged that Soludo had not made any tangible attempt to curb the growing disenchantment with his governance style by introducing any groundbreaking reform(s).

Ubah said ”He ( Soludo) has not made any concrete effort aimed at changing the existential quagmire that Anambra represents which renders the popular question by a former Governor of the State, Mr Peter Obi, still relevant and unanswered till date: “Is Anambra cursed, or are we the cause?

“Secondly, Professor Soludo is a governor who came into office riding on the back of huge expectations from Ndi Anambra and Nigerians in general but the question is, has that transformed into any tangible results and which one of his electoral promises has he fulfilled almost two years into his tenure including the promise of conducting local government elections within six months of swearing in.

“Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo must have realised that he currently holds the record of being the first democratically elected Governor of Anambra whose would-be successor is already being actively discussed in almost every gathering in Anambra less than two years into his tenure which is the clearest exhibition that the people are already in search of a replacement having realized their error so soon in the day.

“But is this reason enough for the state government to prefer running smear campaigns on the towering personality of the Distinguished Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, when he can easily opt to adapt his widely acclaimed security solution in Nnewi, apply it to the entire state and take the accolades?

“It is probably when the efficacy of the solicited prayers start working that it will finally dawn on the Erudite Professor (who believes he knows it all) that retaining and paying for the services of media attack dogs with government funds is a pure case of the Professor fiddling while his Rome burns.

“Please spare a moment of prayer for Prof Soludo, the former one-term governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.”

Ndigbo will reap benefits of Ubah’s defection to APC soon – Aide

    By Ovat Abeng

Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s media aide, Mr Kamen Chuks Ogbonna has said that Igbo land will reap the benefits of Ubah’s defection to APC soon.

The Paradise News had earlier reported that Ubah had last week defected to APC from his former party, Young Progressives Party (YPP).

Ogbonna in a press statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Monday, said already, there is a rush by politicians around Anambra to join APC, because of Ubah’s defection. He listed improved security in the South East as one of the benefits that will accrue to the zone, when Ubah begins effective liaison with President Bola Tinubu’s government.

    The statement read below:

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District ,Dr Ifeanyi Ubah CON, is known for going to where the terrain is tough to squeeze out political capital and trigger development for not just his Senatorial District but for Ndi Igbo in general.

In recent times, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah CON has championed the fight for the restoration of security to the entire southeast region.

This he set about , in various ways, one of which was creating a model security architecture using Nnewi for the pilot scheme in order to showcase his belief that a secured Southeast region is possible where there is political will and the capacity to deliver. Today, Nnewi has emerged the safest city in the entire southeast region with the last new yam festival in the town, witnessing an unprecedented turnout and mass return from the people .

Senator Ubah went on to travel to Germany (a country hitherto dreaded by the Igbo political class as a result of the notorious Ekweremadu treatment some years ago), where he held strategic meetings with our people living in diaspora, attended a cultural event and was also seen in a viral video joyfully playing the drum in the midst of several joyful igbo sons and daughters

Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah CON has also since gone ahead to hold several meetings with key stakeholders both at home and diaspora and participated in the security summit organised by the Southeast Governor’s Forum where several regional stakeholders including Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and several members of the economic and political crème de la crème in igboland gathered to brainstorm on the way forward for the Region.

His decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) after securing firm commitments for Ndi Igbo from the president Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR led ruling APC party is a master stroke that is set to start yielding huge results in the nearest future.

That the Southeast region, with its five states, is controlled by four different political parties, serves as the clearest indication that the region has since lost its mojo, jumped off the political cliff and commenced a downward spiral away from national reckoning to the bemusement of the other regions.

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR’s strategic moves to bring the Southeast region back to national reckoning by giving us a sense of belonging again is by far the biggest show of good intent by a sitting President of the federal Republic of Nigeria in recent times.

Today, this same president, through his recent appointments, has handed over the entire road infrastructural development in the country to ndi igbo by appointing two prominent and capable igbo sons as the Minister of Works and the Director General of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

This action by Mr. President is a sharp departure from what was obtainable in the APC during the previous regime.

It is early days yet , and the proof of the pudding is in the eating but the glaring fact is that Senator Ubah’s decision to lead our dear state Anambra to the centre is a daring one , driven by his zeal to bring about a secured and prosperous Anambra and the entire southeast region

It is a strategic move that should be supported by every son and daughter of Anambra beyond mundane political sentiments and emotional short-sightedness.

Fortunately, our people are sophisticated when it comes to politics and know those politicians that mean well going by their previous track records

The recent reports coming from the various wards in Anambra, of people rushing to quietly register with the APC since Senator Ifeanyi Ubah announced his defection to the party is the biggest prove that indeed when the Selfless is in power, the people truly rejoice and have no problems in lining up behind a shepherd that they can trust .

It is yet another Monday in igboland, and many of our cities are going to shut down once again and lose huge revenues in Commerce as a result of insecurity,

This too will surely come to pass.

NANS commends Sen Ifeanyi Ubah defection to APC

    By Ovat Abeng

The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) has commended Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah for defecting from the Young Progressive Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). They believe this move is strategic and timely as Nigeria aims for inclusive governance and development.

In a press statement signed by former President (Senate) of the student body, Comrade Innocent Chuks Okafor, and made available to journalists in Awka on Sunday, it was noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and political magnanimity were the driving forces behind Senator Ubah’s decision to join the APC.

According to the statement, this defection signifies national unity and is a significant moment in Nigeria’s political history.

NANS also commended Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and APC National Chairman Allahaji Abdullahi Ganduje for their efforts in ensuring Ubah’s defection to the ruling APC.

Comrade Chuks Okafor is optimistic that joining the ruling party will attract more Federal Government presence to the South East Region and other benefits.

The statement also highlights Senator Ubah’s commitment to changing the political narrative in the Southeast region.

The former student leader described the Senator representing Anambra South as a consummate and progressive politician, a strong advocate for human capital development, and a representative of the people.

According to Okafor, “NANS applauds him for his bold step and believes that his blueprints align with the APC-led federal government Renewed Hope agenda.”

Okafor also provided insight into Senator Ubah’s political journey, highlighting his prioritization of the development and progress of the Southeast region rather than personal recognition. Throughout his political career, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has been a member of various prominent political parties, with his main focus always being the advancement of his region. He made significant contributions to the Labour Party, PDP and APGA in the past, and later gained popularity for his involvement with the Young Progressives Party (YPP), where he successfully won two elections to represent Anambra South as a Senator.

Senator Ubah’s recent decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is motivated by his unwavering commitment to championing the interests of his constituents and ensuring that the dividends of democracy benefits his region.

Comrade Okafor also extended his congratulations to the Oil magnet and the founder of Capital Oil and Gas (Ubah) for his recent legal triumph in the case against AMCOM, which resulted in the return of his company to him. He also urged other influential political figures from the Southeast to align with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and support his aspirations and initiatives for the interest of the Southeast region.
