  • Illegal Aliens Will Get Interest-Free Home Loans Under New Democrat California Bill

“The social and economic benefits of homeownership should be available to everyone,” says Democrat assembly member.

California Democrats once again prioritized illegal aliens over American citizens, this time by introducing a bill that would allow illegals to receive interest-free home loans.

Democrat assembly member Joaquin Arambula (Fresno) last month introduced Assembly Bill 1840 that would extend a first-time homebuyer loan program to illegal aliens.

“It’s that ambiguity for undocumented individuals, despite the fact that they’ve qualified under existing criteria, such as having a qualified mortgage, underscores the pressing need for us to introduce legislation,” Arambula said in an interview.

“Homeownership has historically been the primary means of accumulating generational wealth in the United States,” he said. “The social and economic benefits of homeownership should be available to everyone.”

Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) introduced Assembly Bill 1840 last month to expand the eligibility requirement for a state loan program to clarify that loans for first-time buyers are available to undocumented immigrants.

The California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loans program that launched last March by the California Housing Finance Agency offered qualified first-time home buyers with a loan worth up to 20% of the purchase price of a house or condominium. The loans don’t accrue interest or require monthly payments. Instead, when the mortgage is refinanced or the house is sold again, the borrower pays back the original amount of the loan plus 20% of the increase in the home’s value.

The original program was established in an effort to help low- and middle-income individuals buy a home, but the program doesn’t address eligibility based on immigration status, Arambula said.

This comes after California became the first state to provide “free” healthcare benefits to illegal aliens in January.

That taxpayer-funded healthcare scheme also includes sex changes for illegal immigrants, the cost of which is believed to top $3 billion.

Meanwhile, a Harvard housing report found that home ownership has become increasingly unaffordable for California citizens despite the exodus of people leaving the state.

“Millions of households are now priced out of homeownership, grappling with housing cost burdens, or lacking shelter altogether, including a disproportionate share of people of color, increasing the need for policies to address the national housing shortfall at the root of the affordability crisis.”

Imagine if Democrats cared about their own citizens the same way they do for illegal aliens.

  • VP Shettima’s N15bn Residence Ready By May — Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday revealed that Vice President Shettima Kashim’s official residence would be ready by May 2024.

He said this during the inspection of three ongoing projects in the FCT.

The projects include the FCT Highway 105 (11km six-lane dual carriageway) linking the Airport Expressway to Kuje and the official residence of the vice president.

Wike had in November 2023 said that the vice president’s official residence would cost N15 billion.

While giving an update on the project, the minister said he was very happy with the speed and quality of work and commended the contractors.

He noted that the contractors have also assured that the Wuye/Wuse flyover, which is 85 per cent complete, and the vice president’s official residence, will be ready by May 2024.

The minister further stated that the FCT Highway 105 would open up the Kuje area and bring a lot of changes to the FCT.

“I have to commend the various contractors, the Arab Contractors and Julius Berger. The first site we went to is almost 85 percent complete, one of those interchanges in Wuye District. The contractors are keeping faith with their commitment to hand over the project by May.

“And then we also went to the Kuje road which is the six-lane road. It’s about 11 kilometers. That road from the airport road down to Kuje will open up that area of the Area Council. The last time when I went to flag off one of the rural roads, we didn’t see much about the contractors and I did say that the contractors are not serious. But going back there today, one is very impressed with the level of work and the quality of work. I’m quite impressed with what I saw”.

Speaking further, wike said the contractors handling the vice president’s official residence were at the stage of electrical installations.

“We were at the VP’s residence which is being handled by Julius Berger, and like I said, they have made further commitment that by May, they are going to hand over. Why we may not be seeing enough of what we think should be improvements is because they are concentrating on electrical cables. In the next two, or three weeks, you will see a lot of changes. They are known for quality and we are really financing them well”.

He reiterated that no ongoing project in the FCT would be abandoned, adding that projects that are considered as priority have been included in the FCT’s 2024 statutory budget for adequate funding.

“We have always said that we are not going to allow any project to be abandoned. We have taken our priorities and most of these projects are also being included in our 2024 statutory budget, which will soon be presented to the National Assembly by Mr. President when he returns from Qatar,” he said.

Wike further addressed the concern of residents over the seeming delay in the road resurfacing exercise, particularly in the Asokoro District. He assured that the project would also be ready by May.

He said, “What we have said is that these things will be completed before or handed over by May. If you look at the AYA road, it’s being handled by Julius Berger and you know their own style of work, they like to scrape and then take it all together when they want to asphalt.

“So, it is not as if it has been abandoned. When they want to asphalt, they take all at the same time. So, there is nothing like abandonment. What is important to us is if they are going to meet up to the date that they have committed themselves.

“Frankly speaking, I’m very happy with the quality and the speed. By May, a lot of Nigerians will see the changes as far as the FCT is concerned”.

The Minister was accompanied on the road inspection tour by the Executive Secretary of FCDA, Engr. Hadi Shehu Ahmed, the Director of Engineering, Engr. Obiora Ezeoha, former Senator representing the FCT, Sen. Phillip Aduda, senior officials of the FCT Administration, among others.

  • Fact Check: Rothschild conspiracy theory resurfaces, but family doesn’t control global financial system

The Rothschild family has been at the center of conspiracy theories about its wealth and influence for centuries. The latest example followed Jacob Rothschild’s Feb. 26 death at age 87.

“The Rothschilds were behind the fed, and they now control the global financial system,” said the caption on a Feb. 26 Instagram post that included a photo of Jacob Rothschild. The post was later edited to remove that language.

This Instagram post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

The Federal Reserve, in Washington, D.C., is controlled by a Board of Governors that the U.S. president nominates and the U.S. Senate confirms.

Conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family date to 1846 in Paris and have deep antisemitic roots. The family was targeted that year in an anonymously written pamphlet that falsely claimed that Nathan Rothschild, the family patriarch, Mayer Rothschild’s son, knew the Battle of Waterloo’s outcome in advance. The pamphlet was published 30 years after the battle and 10 years after Nathan Rothschild’s death, but its message has circulated ever since.

“There is a massive industry of Rothschild conspiracy theories, some of which are just invented on the spot, and others utilize tropes like Jews being cheap, Jews being greedy, Jews being clannish, keeping their money to themselves,” historian Mike Rothschild (no relation to the Rothschild banking family), who has written a book about the history of the theories, said in a 2023 interview with Time magazine.

The Rothschilds have been wrongly blamed for everything from starting wars to sinking the Titanic and assassinating U.S. presidents. Various iterations of the conspiracy theory that the Rothschilds control global finances have been repeatedly debunked.

The Rothschild family started in banking in Frankfurt, Germany, and the family’s wealth exploded after it financed the British army in the Napoleonic Wars, from 1799 to 1815. The family later invested in railroads, mining and real estate.

Although the Rothschilds historically made money in finance and banking, the family’s fortune is now distributed across businesses in several industries.

Jacob Rothschild was born in Berkshire, England, and oversaw a series of business ventures beyond banking during his career, including a wealth management company, J. Rothschild Assurance Group, now known as St. James’s Place.

The claim is not supported by evidence and is an antisemitic trope.

  • Are Warriors for real? Sunday matinee in Boston could provide answer

There remains an undercurrent of skepticism about the suddenly streaking Warriors, but it won’t take much to get the bandwagon rolling downhill.

Beat the Boston Celtics Sunday afternoon at TD Garden and the believability factor rises considerably. The Warriors will go from a play-in hopeful to the kind of opponent no one wants to face in the playoffs. One that has veteran superstars in Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, a cagey veteran in Chris Paul and an intriguing young supporting cast that appears to be blossoming before our eyes,

A 3-0 roadie through Washington, New York and Toronto has given the Warriors an eight-game road win streak, and at 32-27 their hopes of climbing from the No. 10 spot to somewhere near No. 6 in the crowded West playoff race don’t seem nearly as remote.

On the other hand, a one-sided loss at Boston, especially if Curry is affected by right knee bursitis that had him listed as questionable, would indicate the Warriors remain a paper tiger that can beat inferior teams but isn’t up to a championship challenge.

Look no further than last Sunday for evidence.

The NBA champion Denver Nuggets came to Chase Center, a perfect opportunity for the Warriors to take their new-found confidence for a test drive. They played well at the outset, but just before halftime Denver went on a run and the Warriors never recovered in a 119-103 loss.

Nikola Jokic dominated inside and out, transition defense was a rumor and the gulf between a legit title contender and the Warriors appeared too vast to overcome over the space of 26 games before the end of the regular season.

Since then, the Warriors have beaten Washington, New York and Toronto. The Wizards are one of the two worst teams in the NBA, the Knicks are decimated by injuries and the Raptors came in with a 22-37 record.

Boston, on the other hand, has the best record in the NBA at 47-12, is 28-3 at home and on a 10-game win streak. A win on a national Sunday afternoon stage would soften even the most hardened skeptics.

Winning 13 out of 16 NBA games is impressive no matter the opposition. The Warriors are fairly healthy and confident. Beating the Celtics would suggest that maybe the Denver debacle had more to do with Curry, Thompson and Green all having poor games at the same time — which would seal the Warriors’ doom regardless of the opponent.

If there was one constant theme during the first three games of the road trip, it’s that the Warriors like their chemistry and togetherness a year after those qualities imploded the moment Green punched Jordan Poole at practice.

Without mentioning Poole, coach Steve Kerr indicated the way Green has responded to two separate suspensions this season has made a huge difference.

Golden State Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga (00) goes up for a windmill dunk against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second quarter of their NBA game at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024. (Jose Carlos Fajardo/Bay Area News Group)
Warriors’ forward Jonathan Kuminga (00) has given his team an explosive presence inside around the rim.

“I think the key is the chemistry and these guys are committed to each other and winning,” Kerr said. “I think Draymond has done an incredible job of walking the line the way he needs to, being competitive and fierce but not going over the line. We need him, and he knows that, and he’s been fantastic.”

Green has been saying and doing all the right things.

“Guys are pulling for each other,” Green said. “It’s not going to be that way every night. I’m not going to sit here and act like through the course of an 82-game season and the playoffs you don’t veer from that. But it’s our job as a whole to make sure whoever veers from it that you pull them right back to it.”

Whether it’s Moses Moody stepping up while Andrew Wiggins is away with a personal issue or rookie Brandin Podziemski filling up a box score and hitting the deck while taking charge after charge, the Warriors have developed an identity around their Big Three.

Kerr will need to do some lineup shuffling when Wiggins returns assuming Podziemski’s knee bruise is minor, but so far the Warriors’ personality has been to adapt to change.

“It took us a while, frankly, just to figure out our team,” Kerr said. “We were leaning on what we were two years ago when we won the championship. That wasn’t working, and we eventually changed things up. Between that, getting Draymond back and our young guys taking a leap forward, we’ve got a bit of momentum and we’re going to try and keep it going.”

Two big reasons the Warriors can still be a dangerous postseason opponent are third-year forward Jonathan Kuminga and Paul, the 39-year-old point guard. A month ago the 6-foot-7 Kuminga was the subject of trade rumors with the Chicago Bulls.  Now he’s untouchable.

“J.K. has changed our team, really,” Kerr said. “His ability to get to the line, get to the paint and get us easy baskets has really balanced our our team in a dramatic way. He’s put our team in a much better position.”

As for Paul, the 21 games he missed with a fractured left hand could be a blessing in disguise. He returned this week showing no signs of rust and providing instant stability whenever he’s on the floor. Paul has been known to wear out in a protracted postseason, and that won’t be the case this year.

  • Musk: Biden’s Claim He Can’t Secure Border Without Congress ‘A Bold-Faced Lie’

“The massive flood of illegal immigration is due to 94 executive actions by the Biden administration,” Elon Musk points out.

Elon Musk called out Joe Biden’s claim that he can’t act to secure the U.S. border without Congress as a “bold-faced lie.”

When asked by a reporter outside the White House Friday why he won’t take executive action to address the collapsed southern border, Biden answered, “Because we need more forces on the border, I don’t have the authority to do that.”

Musk responded Saturday on his platform X that Biden was lying.

“The massive flood of illegal immigration is due to 94 executive actions by the Biden administration,” Musk pointed out.

    • URGENT! Keep Alex Jones in the fight against the NWO! Please pray & contribute at DefendJones.com today!

“Until those executive actions are revoked, claims by Biden that he wants to address illegal immigration are a bold-faced lie.”

Biden did in fact take 94 executive actions in his first 100 days in office to decimate border security.

Most of them simply rescinded a number of Trump’s border policies, including the Remain in Mexico policy, terminated his travel and visa restrictions and removed other measures meant to reduce the flow of illegal immigration into the U.S.

Biden also directed the Department of Homeland Security and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stop targeting illegal aliens for removal unless they posed gang involvement or had significant criminal charges.

But under considerable political pressure to address the out-of-control invasion of millions illegal aliens — reflected in recent polling — Biden is now considering new executive actions to reverse the very open-border policies he had created in the first place.

“Among the ideas under discussion include using a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act to bar migrants from seeking asylum in between U.S. ports of entry,” Politico reported last month.

“The administration is also discussing tying that directive to a trigger — meaning that it would only come into effect after a certain number of illegal crossings took place, said the three people, who were granted anonymity to discuss private deliberations.”

In any case, Biden has resorted to blaming Republicans for the influx of aliens that he allowed to illegally enter into the country.

  • Fact Check: The context behind Joe Biden and Donald Trump’s dueling immigration speeches at the Texas border

The two 2024 presidential election front-runners traveled to Texas on Feb. 29 to deliver vastly different messages about a key election issue: immigration.

Former President Donald Trump stoked fear about the people crossing the southern U.S. border, citing recent high-profile criminal cases in which authorities charged immigrants who were in the U.S. illegally. President Joe Biden blamed Republicans for sidelining a Senate immigration bill he said would have given his administration the resources and powers needed to reduce illegal immigration.

Speaking at Eagle Pass, Texas, the epicenter of a feud between the state and the federal government, Trump joined Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, the Border Patrol union’s leader and Texas National Guard members.

A few minutes after Trump spoke and about 300 miles south, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, and Border Patrol agents joined Biden as he spoke in Brownsville, Texas.

Trump spent the hours before his speech blasting Biden’s immigration policies over social media and in a Daily Mail article, and positioning himself as the only person able to “stop Biden’s illegal immigrant invasion.”

At the end of his speech, Biden asked Trump to join him in getting Congress to pass the Senate border security bill.

“Instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done,” Biden said.

PolitiFact listened to both presidential candidates. Biden overstated the authority provided to him in the border security bill. Trump made broad and often unsubstantiated statements about the migrants entering the U.S. and his administration’s immigration successes.

Here’s the context behind some of their statements.

President Joe Biden talks with the U.S. Border Patrol, as he looks over the southern border, Feb. 29, 2024, in Brownsville, Texas, along the Rio Grande. (AP)

Biden overstates possible effect of emergency authority in border security bill

The Senate bill “would also give me as president, or any of the next presidents, emergency authority to temporarily shut down the border between ports of entry.” — Biden in Brownsville

The Senate proposal, which failed 49-50, sought to enable the executive branch to block people from seeking asylum in between ports of entry if illegal immigration encounters reached certain levels.

That doesn’t mean people would stop coming to U.S. borders. A public health policy to mitigate COVID-19’s spread that was in place from March 2020 to May 2023 also largely blocked people from seeking asylum, but border encounters rose.

“There is this idea that we control how many migrants attempt illegal crossings. We do not,” Theresa Cardinal Brown, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s senior adviser for Immigration and border policy previously told PolitiFact. “We control what happens once we encounter someone who has already crossed the border illegally.”

Under current immigration law, people on U.S. soil are allowed to seek asylum regardless of how they entered the country. The bill’s emergency authority tried to change that. But the government’s ability to quickly remove people from the U.S. would still hinge on its resources, and other countries’ willingness to take back immigrants.

“In short, there is no authority that Congress could pass that would allow for a ‘complete and total shutdown of the border,’” Brown told us in February. “That’s just not how borders work in any real sense. Especially not our border with Mexico.”

Trump leaves out context on migrants and crime, exaggerates his administration’s success

Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump talks with Maj. Gen. Thomas Suelzer, Adjutant General for the State of Texas, at Shelby Park during a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, Feb. 29, 2024, in Eagle Pass, Texas. (AP)

The person charged with a Georgia nursing student’s murder “is an illegal alien migrant who was led into our country and released into our communities by ‘Crooked Joe’ Biden,” — Trump in Eagle Pass.

Laken Riley, a 22-year old nursing student at the University of Georgia, was killed while on a run Feb. 22. Authorities charged Jose Ibarra with the murder.

Ibarra, a 26-year old from Venezuela, was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection when he illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in September 2022, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Ibarra was paroled in, allowing him to be released into the U.S. to await further immigration proceedings.

There is conflicting information on whether he was arrested in New York City. ICE told PolitiFact the New York Police Department arrested Ibarra on Aug. 31, 2023, and charged him with “acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation.” ICE said the police released him before immigration authorities were able to issue a detainer request for him. But NYPD told PolitFact there were no arrests filed under the name “Jose Ibarra” in 2023.

Despite high-profile cases of crimes committed by, or charged to immigrants in the U.S. illegally, research shows that immigrants are not more likely to commit crimes than U.S.-born people. A 2023 Stanford University study found immigrants are 30% less likely to be incarcerated than people born in the U.S. Research published in 2024 by the libertarian Cato Institute found that in Texas, immigrants in the U.S. illegally have a lower homicide conviction rate than people born in the U.S.

“We ended catch and release,” — Trump in Eagle Pass.

This is misleading and doesn’t reflect what happened. Republicans often use the term “catch and release” to describe immigration authorities stopping immigrants at the border and releasing them so they can await their court hearings outside of federal custody.

Both Democratic and Republican administrations have followed this practice for decades, because there’s limited detention space and court rulings have capped how long someone can be detained.

In January 2017, Trump signed an executive order to end “catch and release.” But a few months later, his own attorney general testified to the Senate that the practice continued because of the long case backlog and an immigration judges shortage.

“We built 571 miles of border wall, much more than I promised I’d build,” — Trump in Eagle Pass.

During his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump promised to build a border wall along at least 1,000 miles of the nearly 2,000-mile U.S. southern border. He did not fulfill that promise.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection data says the Trump administration built barriers along 458 miles. But the majority of that construction replaced existing smaller, dilapidated barriers and did not add to the total miles of southern border barriers.

The amount of new primary barriers added — 52 miles — is about 10 times less than Trump’s estimate. Primary barriers are the first impediment people encounter when they’re trying to cross the southern border with Mexico, they can block people who are walking or driving.

  • San Jose Sharks’ Alexander Barabanov injured

The list of injured San Jose Sharks players keeps getting longer.

Both defenseman Ty Emberson and forward Alexander Barabanov will miss this weekend’s games after they were injured in Thursday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, Sharks coach David Quinn said.

The Sharks are in Dallas tonight to play the Central Division-leading Stars and travel to play the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.

Emberson suffered a laceration, Quinn said, during the first period Thursday and is now considered week-to-week. The 23-year-old Wisconsin native has suffered multiple injuries this season and has only played 14 of the last 34 games.

“Right now, he’s (out) at least a couple weeks,” Quinn said of Emberson. “This was just a freak play, really. Very unfortunate.”

Barabanov is also not on the road trip after he sustained a lower-body injury against the Ducks, Quinn said. Barabanov did not play the final 15 minutes of the third period as the Sharks went on to lose 6-4 to Anaheim, extending their skid to five games.

Quinn said Barabanov who had been playing on the Sharks’ third line with Nico Sturm and Kevin Labanc, is day-to-day. Givani Smith will take Barabanov’s spot in the lineup, and the third line will feature Sturm with Justin Bailey and Mike Hoffman.

Barabanov, too, has been bitten by the injury/illness bug this season and has just 10 points in 37 games. He was scratched from the Sharks’ Feb. 19 game against the Vegas Golden Knights but returned to the lineup for games against Nashville and New Jersey before he was injured against the Ducks.

“He’s had some good moments,” Quinn said of Barabanov, a pending unrestricted free agent and a potential target for other teams before the NHL trade deadline.

“Looks like he’s trying to force offense, it’s been a hard year for him with his injuries and him being in his free agency year. So I think he’s chasing offense a little bit too much, but there was an uptick in his play the last two games.”

It was not immediately clear if defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic would be able to return to the Sharks lineup Saturday after he missed the last three games. Vlasic took part in the Sharks’ morning skate at American Airlines Center.

Already out for the Sharks right now are centers Logan Couture (groin) and Tomas Hertl (knee), goalie Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body), and defenseman Matt Benning (hip). Both Couture and Hertl are aiming to return before the end of the regular season in mid-April, Blackwood is expected to be back this month and Benning is out for the season.

  • Rainier Beach Advances To State Championship Game With Dominant Win Over O’Dea

By Karrington Kincaid, The Seattle Medium

The matchup between the O’Dea Fighting Irish and the Rainier Beach Vikings was exhilarating from start to finish, with both ends of the crowd making their presence known as the noise levels were nearly deafening.

Both head coaches from each side were fully aware of the challenge that lay ahead, understanding the importance of this specific game to both teams.

Rainier Beach started the first quarter on fire, led by guard Kaden Powers, who scored 9 points, and Maceo Rivers. The Vikings quickly jumped out to a 19-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. Defensively, Rainier Beach made it difficult for the Fighting Irish to gain momentum, stifling O’Dea’s offense. Malcolm Clark managed to score 5 of his team’s 9 points in the quarter, as the Fighting Irish struggled to find their stride.

The second quarter had a similar feel to the first, with both teams battling evenly. O’Dea’s Antone Araujo hit a three-point shot to maintain momentum for the

Fighting Irish, while Malcolm Clark, who scored 6 of his team’s 8 second-quarter points, kept them in the game. Guard Quincy Brown’s lone two-point shot contributed to their 8 total points in the quarter, leaving them trailing the Vikings 28-17 at halftime.

The Fighting Irish, showing frustration going into halftime, realized they needed to intensify their efforts to stay in the game.

The third quarter saw the Vikings keep their foot on the gas. Kaden Powers hit a three-point shot and a duo of jump shots, while teammate Nyale Robinson scored five points, extending Rainier Beach’s lead to 45-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was a desperate time for the Fighting Irish as they faced the end of their season. Led by Brian Webster, the Fighting Irish attempted a rally. Webster scored seven points in the quarter, including a couple of free throws, a deep three-point shot, and a jump shot, giving his team some momentum. Malcolm Clark and Breylon Webb also contributed as O’Dea tried to cut into the lead.

Unfortunately for O’Dea, the Vikings finished the game strong. Powers continued his excellent shooting from the outside, while Maceo Rivers hit a deep three-point shot, a jump shot, and a dunk, diminishing any hope for a comeback by the Fighting Irish. The Vikings cruised to a 59-46 victory, securing a spot in the state championship game on Saturday.

Kaden Powers, the game’s MVP and WIAA Sportsmanship award winner, praised his team’s collective effort, emphasizing their focus on team success over individual statistics. He finished the game with an impressive 28 points.

Malcolm Clark led the O’Dea Fighting Irish with 16 points.

With this win, the Vikings will now take on the Eastside Catholic Crusaders in the state championship game on Saturday night at the Tacoma Dome.
