  • Francesco Camarda rejects a move to Manchester United

Manchester United have attempted to pull in some extra firepower up top following the signing of Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils currently only have Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as senior strikers, leaving little room for options if injury was occur.

Unfortunately this seems to have happened, with Hojlund picking up an injury in United’s opening game of their pre-season tour of the States against Arsenal.

The striker limped off in the 16th minute, with veteran defender Jonny Evans commenting it seemed to be linked to his hamstring.

Now, attempting to provide more options in attack, United have made an offer to another strike target playing his trade in Serie A.

Serie A striker’s rejection of United

AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda has recently snubbed an offer to move to Old Trafford.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that United we one of a number of teams, including Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, who have tried to sign the 16-year-old.

Francesco Camarda has recently been promoted to the senior squad after coming through the youth academy at AC Milan. While in the youth squad, the Italian striker has wracked up 14 goals and five assists in 44 games.

After joining the senior squad, Camarda has made two fleeting appearances totalling 12 minutes against Fiorentina and Frosinone.

Reports from Football Italia claim that the striker has signed a new three-year deal with AC Milan, securing his future at San Siro.

  • Manchester United and Liverpool ‘considering’ move for highly-rated Bundesliga striker

    Maximilian Beier

Manchester United are still keen to add to their strike option this summer, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as the only senior strikers at the club.

Zirkzee has returned from holiday and is now training with United at Carrington. He was on leave following his participation in Euro 2024 with the Netherlands.

Currently, Hojlund is the only senior striker included in United’s pre-season USA tour.

With United limited with their strike options, relying on academy graduate Ethan Wheatley to support Hojlund in the States, the Red Devils are now looking back through their shortlist of transfer targets.

Recent reports have suggested that despite strong interested from United, AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda has rejected a move to Old Trafford, instead signing a three-year contract to remain at San Siro.

United’s Bundesliga Target – Maximilian Beier

Now, United are turning to one of their recent strike targets, Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim.

The Red Devils have previously contacted the Bundesliga club about information on the 21-year-old, with Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Brentford all interested in the striker.

Now, reports from TuttoJuve, as reported by TEAMTalk, claim that United and Liverpool are both still “considering whether to make a move for Beier”.

Reportedly £34 million would be enough to sign the striker, with Hoffenheim confident they’ll be able to complete a deal for this figure this summer.

Whilst the Premier League rivals are both still in the running, another striker isn’t a top priority for either right now.

However, Erik ten Hag is keen for more competition for Zirkzee and Hojlund to keep standards high, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe wanting United to become the best place for developing young talents.

With this in mind, United could well bid for Beier who is seen as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga.

  • Manchester United linked striker confirms he’s leaving current club

    Erik ten Hag

Are Manchester United on the verge of signing another striker?

Despite signing Joshua Zirkzee, United are being linked to bringing further recruits to the club.

This is a highly lauded change of tack that is being appreciated by MUFC fans.

For far too long, the club have been found wanting in the transfer market.

Not only in terms of quality, but also quantity.

A case in point was the left back situation last season.

With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out for extended periods of time, the club brought Sergio Reguilon in on loan. But the loan was ended in January and then the club struggled to find another natural player to fill that role. This left the club struggling badly for balance on that side of the pitch as they suffered heavy defeats with a makeshift backline.

It now seems that the new transfer leadership are taking a more proactive approach to the season.

United have historically had a great deal of strength in depth when it comes to their striking department.

UEFA Champions League winning sides from Old Trafford were built by Sir Alex Ferguson around striking groups such as Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well as Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

You can never have too many great strikers.

And, if recent social media posts are to believed, one striker linked with Old Trafford could be on his way soon.

Arsenal wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin has been heavily linked with the club ever since he visited Carrington to discuss a move to Manchester.

The record-breaking young striker has been weighing up his options before deciding whether to stay at the Emirates or continue his journey elsewhere.

It seems like he’s made up his mind.

Uploading a post to his Instagram page, it simply reads ‘Arsenal thank you’.

This seems a clear message of a goodbye to the club.

With that said, the next question is what club will Obi-Martin be saying hello to?

United fans will, of course, be hoping that it’ll be at Old Trafford.

Obi-Martin is a generational talent who has broken multiple records while in London.

If the young Dane were to choose Manchester next as his home, it’d arguably be INEOS’ best transfer so far.

However, let’s not count the chickens too son.

Reports have suggested that Chido Obi-Martin has also explored a move to Germany as well. So United are not the only club in the race.

But, this post does provide encouragement to MUFC fans. And it’s likely that a decision will be announced by the striker sooner rather than later.

  • Bruno Fernandes sends two word message to Raphael Varane after move confirmed

    Raphael Varane

After leaving Old Trafford this summer, Raphael Varane has finally found his new club for the coming season.

With his contract at an end, his three year spell at United came to a close. The France international arrived during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time as manager at the club, leaving Real Madrid for £34 million.

Erik ten Hag replaced Solskjaer, but the Dutchman kept Varane as a key part of his system, partnering with Lisandro Martinez.

Despite his impressive 2022/23 campaign, last season saw the defender miss considerable parts of the season due to injury. Across all competitions, Varane made a total of 32 appearances, only making 16 Premier League starts.

Although the French defender had talks to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami, the 31-year-old has now found his new club, staying in Europe.

Bruno Fernandes’ message to Raphael Varane

On Sunday, Varane signed his new contract, joining Italian side Como in their debut campaign in Serie A after promotion last year.

Bruno Fernandes struck a strong friendship with the veteran defender, with the pair holidaying together this summer. Supporting his friend’s new move, the United captain took to Instagram praising the star.

Sharing an announcement photo of Varane, Fernandes called his former teammate “Rolls-Royce” and sharing a heart emoji with his messages

    Varane reunite’s with old foe

Varane is joining Como under the management of Premier League legend Cesc Fabregas who was appointed by he club earlier this month.

With Fabregas at Barcelona whilst Varane played for Real Madrid, the pair have known each other as opponents, but Varane is now excited to meet the Spanish star as a colleague.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Varane said: “I will meet Cesc again, but this time not as an opponent,”

He continued: “I am very happy, I really like his playing philosophy and his passion for football.”

  • Federico Chiesa prefers joining Man United over English rivals

Erik ten Hag on Federico Chiesa

Manchester United have made a strong start to the transfer window by signing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

The club is now focused on acquiring additional targets, including Manuel Ugarte from PSG, Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich, and Noussair Mazraoui, also from Bayern Munich.

A verbal agreement has reportedly been reached with Bayern Munich for Noussair Mazraoui.

The Red Devils are also actively working on selling some players to raise funds, which can then be used to sign the aforementioned targets.

Currently, United are in negotiations to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United.

Chiesa prefers United over rival English clubs

Amid these transfer activities, a report from Gazetta Dello Sport claims that Federico Chiesa has indicated his preference for a move to United over English rivals such as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chiesa, 26, scored nine goals in 33 Serie A appearances last season but is not considered indispensable by manager Thiago Motta.

The report claims Juventus are open to selling him, and a deal could cost United around €25-30 million.

However, Federico Chiesa is not currently a priority for United, as their focus remains on other targets.

The potential acquisition of Chiesa could depend on whether one of United’s wingers, such as Antony or Jadon Sancho, departs this summer.

Despite interest from Turkey’s Besiktas and France’s Paris Saint-Germain respectively, the likelihood of these players leaving appears low at this time.

In addition to Zirkzee and Yoro, Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, aims to further strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes.

However, United may need to offload more players to afford new signings.

Sancho is one potential departure from United, appearing more likely to leave than any other winger.

PSG has shown interest and has reached an agreement in principle with the player, though the final terms between the clubs are yet to be settled.

United is also open to offers for Scott McTominay, Casemiro, Antony and Victor Lindelof, but high wages could complicate these potential transfers.

  • PSG to ‘meet’ Manchester United bosses for Jadon Sancho ‘this week’

    Jadon Sancho

Over the last week, news of Paris Saint-Germain targeting Jadon Sancho has grown and grown.

PSG are preparing for their first Ligue 1 campaign without Kyllian Mbappe, and the French champions have highlighted Sancho as they key replacement.

The Ligue 1 side have already contact Sancho offering him a contract, with the winger excited at the opportunity PSG are presenting.

Manchester United have equally been advancing their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte over the last month, with the Premier League club agreeing personal terms with the Uruguayan.

With both clubs looking for sales and signings from each other, the teams clearly have a lot to discuss.

Now, reports from France suggest a deal may be stuck this week.

Manchester United and PSG seniors set to meet

X account PSGINSIDE-ACTUS has reported that the two clubs are set to meet in the middle of this week to discuss Manuel Ugarte and Jadon Sancho.

The announcement expressed that despite Sancho being back in Erik ten Hag’s good books, the winger is keen for a fresh start away from Old Trafford and wants to join PSG.

The French champions are also keen to conclude the transfer as quick as possible which may see United benefit from this with the Ugarte deal.

United have been stalling on the Ugarte deal, with Dan Ashworth confident that PSG will lower their price tag on the midfielder as deadline day looms nearer. The defensive midfielder is not expected to be a key part of Luis Enrique’s plans at the French capital. It’s believed that the French club may decided it’s more beneficial to sell the star for a reduced fee, than to pay his wages to ultimately have him sat on the bench.

With PSG so keen on signing Sancho, United could play clever and use it to their benefit when negotiating for Ugarte.

  • Manchester United star opens up on Jim Ratcliffe hierarchy sacking 250 people

    Jim Ratcliffe

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe has purchased 27.7% of Manchester United, he has made some massive changes both on and off the pitch.

A whole new series of football directors have been hired, with Jason Wilcox, Dan Ashworth, Omar Berrada and Christopher Vivell joining the club.

The coaching staff have also been overhauled with Rene Hake, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Andreas Georgson joining the team.

Now, United have announced a series of redundancies being made, hitting 250 people. This has included trimming down of staff and some members of staff being told they would no longer be going on the USA pre-season tour and are at risk.

United veteran Jonny Evans has now spoken out about the extent of the redundancies at the club, claiming they have been a big topic of conversation between everyone on the pre-season tour.

Jonny Evans comments on the redundancies

Speaking to The Sun, the United defender commented: “I think they’ve got an idea of how they want the structure, but as someone who’s been at the club a long time, you know, a lot of people have lost their jobs this last couple of weeks, it’s been hard and difficult to see.”

He continued: “The new owners feel that’s the direction that they want to go. But, you know, it’s not been easy for everyone at the same time.

“I mean, there’s people you’ve known for 20 years and I think the timing of it happened when we came away on tour pretty much.

“So we were all a bit in the dark and I’m sure everything will be sorted out, things will be a bit more clear when we get back. But it’s been a difficult thing to see, people, I’ve known for a long, long time.

“One thing about working in a club like Man United, you’re all in and everyone’s always been all in, it’s a massive staff.”

Evans has been employed by United with the club having a really key place in his family. The 32-year-old met his wife Helen at United, with he continuing to work for MUTV.

Evans’ immediate family also have links with the club, with his brother, Corry, also in the youth ranks and his father Jackie previously coaching in the club’s academy.

When discussing the family links he has with the club, Evans said: “You have family members working there. People are married and my wife has been working at the club, my brother has been at the club, my dad’s been at the club.”

He added: “So it’s always had that feeling of people, they give everything they have for the club and it’s such a huge credit to them. That’s just because they love the place so much.”

United’s well respected academy is also hit y the cuts

Despite the academy turning out so many impressive prospects such as Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, it is also being hit by the cut backs.

Speaking about the academy which Evans came through, the defender said: “I think the fact that the club is built on the academy also has a big part in that because players have been there for such a long time, from a young age, and they’ve come in and the academy players have always sort of set the culture and the staff that have been there the whole way through.”

He added: “So I think that’s just been the nature of the culture, how it’s always been built and it’s a huge plus for the club. We want to maintain that as much as possible.”

  • Update provided on Rasmus Hojlund injury

Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the USA has kicked off with a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, seeing Rasmus Hojlund limp out of the friendly.

The match saw Hojlund help United take an early lead in the tenth minute with an assist from Marcus Rashford. Fifteen minutes later though, Arsenal hit back with a Gabriel Jesus goal set up by Ethan Nwaneri. The game remained in deadlock until the 81st minute where Gabriel Martinelli managed to beat Andre Onana, securing Arsenal’s victory.

However the defeat wasn’t the only loss in the game. Leny Yoro and Hojlund both came off due to injury, with Erik ten Hag hoping this isn’t the start of yet another injury crisis.

Jonny Evans and Erik ten Hag comment on Hojlund’s injury

Speaking to Sky Sports about the injuries, veteran defender Jonny Evans said: “You don’t want any injuries, especially in pre-season. It’s one of the biggest things you’re trying to avoid while also getting fit at the same time. We don’t know how bad the injuries are. Muscle injuries aren’t great. Rasmus hinted it was his hamstring. I’m not sure about Leny yet.”

Taking to Manchester United’s official website, the Dutch manager spoke about the potential injuries. When quizzed about the incidents, ten Hag commented: “Of course it is too short [to know about their injuries] and we have to wait over 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more. We were careful especially with Leny as he only did 50 per cent of the [training] sessions. He has to come up but let’s be positive and see what comes out.”

    What this means for United

Naturally ten Hag will be hoping that any injury is minor, with the Red Devils set to play Real Betis on Wednesday at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

With Hojlund and new signing Joshua Zirkzee being the only senior strikers, if Hojlund’s injury is worse however, this will put alot of pressure on the new boy as United’s only option up top.

  • Manchester United ‘exploring’ renewal of Bruno Fernandes contract

    Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United are now ‘exploring’ extending the contract of captain Bruno Fernandes before the end of the summer, a well-placed source has revealed to centredevils.

Fernandes, alongside his compatriot Diogo Dalot, is currently on vacation following their participation in Euro 2024 with Portugal.

Centredevils understands, United are “confident and relaxed” about Fernandes’ future with them, despite links to Saudi clubs and PSG.

While a move this summer is completely out of the question, United are wary of next summer when Fernandes would have just one year left on his contract, potentially forcing a sale at a reduced price.

It is understood United aims to open discussions with Fernandes regarding a new contract as soon as he returns from his holiday.

Although the exact length of the proposed extension is still under consideration, United are prepared to offer him an improved financial package.

One possibility includes extending his current deal by an additional year.

The club views Bruno Fernandes as an indispensable asset.

His performance in the 2023/24 season, where he scored 15 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions, underscores his importance despite United’s overall challenging campaign.

Since his £67.6 million transfer from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes has firmly established himself as United’s leading figure, amassing 79 goals in 233 appearances.

The negotiations will be closely monitored, especially given previous reports that Fernandes seeks not only a better financial package but also assurances that United will remain active in the transfer market and strive to compete for top honors.

There is a strong hope among fans and club officials that Fernandes will sign a new contract, continuing his vital role as both a leader on the field and an influential presence off it.

  • Manchester United agree deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui

    Noussair Mazraoui

Manchester United have reached a total verbal agreement to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich today, according to Santi Aouna of Footmercato.

Mazraoui had already agreed to join United, rejecting West Ham United to prioritise a move to Old Trafford.

As per multiple reports, the Moroccan only wants to join United this summer.

According to Aouna’s report, everything accelerated in this deal overnight, and United reached an agreement with Bayern today for the transfer of Noussair Mazraoui.

The transfer fee is estimated at €25 million. A total agreement has also been reached with the Moroccan, who had already shown his desire to join the club.

All the lights are green for his arrival in the coming days, according to the report.

At the same time, Manchester United has moved forward on the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The report claims that the 26-year-old English full-back is expected to head to West Ham, who have therefore abandoned the Mazraoui deal.

The Hammers have aligned themselves with United’s demands, and an agreement has been reached for Wan-Bissaka, according to Santi Aouna.

All that is missing now is an agreement with the Englishman, but West Ham’s salary offer should convince him to leave United and conclude this deal.
