  • Manchester United secure third signing, Fabrizio Romano confirms

Fabrizio Romano has finally give his “here we go” on another Manchester United signing this summer.

The Red Devils have been making serious moves to create a younger, stronger United to carry the club into the future.

With 18-year-old Leny Yoro signed as a ‘generational talent’ in defence, and 23-year-old Joshua Zirkzee joining their strike force, United have now reportedly secured their third young, quality signing this summer.

Manchester United finally sign Chido Obi-Martin

After a couple of weeks of speculation, the sports journalist has confirmed that wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin is moving to Old Trafford.

The 16-year-old has reportedly agreed to the move, rejecting other offers from Germany to sign for United.

As per Romano, Ruud van Nistelrooy played a key role in getting the Chido Obi-Martin deal done. He spoke to Obi-Martin about development plan at United and convinced him to join.

Romano also confirmed that Obi-Martin’s move was motivated by the opportunity for first-team football rather than financial incentives, as German clubs offered higher packages.

Manchester United is known for providing significant game time to young players, second only to Brighton in the Premier League. Last season, United gave their teenage players 2,898 minutes of game time, compared to Brighton’s 3,751 minutes.

Comparing to the stats of his previous club, Arsenal only gave their teenage players 13 minutes of game time in the 2023/24, an incredible 2,883 minutes less than United.

This explains why Obi-Martin chose United over staying at Arsenal or signing with German clubs, as he sees a clearer pathway to first-team football at Old Trafford.

With players like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho being so relied upon straight out of the United academy, it’s clear that Obi-Martin has a great shot at senior football with the move to Old Trafford.

  • Manchester United negotiating terms with experienced midfielder

    Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are getting increasingly hopeful of making another signing in the coming weeks to strengthen their midfield.

The club have been pursuing Manuel Ugarte for some time now, with United and PSG set to meet this week to discuss terms for both Ugarte and Jadon Sancho as the pair switch sides.

United were looking at long-term transfer target Morten Hjulmand, however the midfielder has recently accepted the Sporting Lisbon captain’s band, suggesting he’s set to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.

Now though, United may have found another star who can bring a wealth of experience to Old Trafford.

United negotiate contract terms with Adrien Rabiot

For some time now United have been linked with French midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The 29-year-old is a proven champion having lifted 23 trophies with PSG and Juventus combined.

In the final weeks of his contract at Juventus, Rabiot rejected any attempts to extend his contract amid interest from United for his signature.

CaughtOffside have reported that United have recently held talks with Rabiot and his mother who acts as his agent. It was expressed that the talks appear to be headed in a positive direction with all parties optimistic in arriving at an agreement.

It’s widely believed that the Red Devils are winning the race for the veteran midfielder, despite interest from Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Liverpool. In the recent days it’s come to light that the 29-year-old has rejected a contract offer from Liverpool in favour of an Old Trafford move.

As Rabiot is currently without a club since leaving Juve, he is a very low cost option for United to strengthen their midfield, especially with players like Scott McTominay and Casemiro looking to be sold in the coming weeks.

Manchester United’s search for Europe’s best young talent is reaching fever pitch right now.

The Red Devils have recently been reported as having agreed to sign talented youngster Chido Obi-Martin. The 16-year-old striker is one of the hottest prospects to come out of the Arsenal academy and is heading to Old Trafford any day now.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen to turn United into the home of the best development of young players in football, signings like Obi-Martin will definitely be making a statement.

Now, United are reportedly closer to sign yet another incredible teenager.

Manchester United to sign Samuel Lusale

The Red Devils are now closing in on yet another one of their young targets, with Crystal Palace’s Samuel Lusale on the verge of an Old Trafford Move.

United have been reported by Manchester_United_Youth on X as having reached a full agreement to sign the 16-year-old.

The winger has rejected a scholarship offer from his former club in favour of joining the Red Devils.

This is an extremely exciting move for United, with Lusale’s agency labelling him as:“a quick, dynamic winger who is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking players in the UK at under-16 level.”

It continued: “Comfortable playing off the right or left wing, his electrifying pace and direct running with the ball makes him a constant threat to the opposition defence. He is often the source of goals and assists for his team.”

With so many young players joining the United academy, the future of the club is certainly looking bright.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have shown this season what the young Red Devils can do when given a chance, with Tom Collyer looking to be given his opportunity to follow in their footsteps.

In no time at all, Obi-Martin and Lusale are sure to be gracing the pitch at Old Trafford with the same success.

  • Chido Obi-Martin drops massive hint he’s joining Man United

Manchester United appear to be on the brink of signing one of the hottest prospects in young football in England.

Chido Obi-Martin has been labelled as one of the top talents to come out of the Arsenal youth academy, the same academy that brought up Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.

Obi-Martin announced his exit from Arsenal yesterday, confirming the reports that the 16-year-old was leaving the club.

Thankfully for United fans, the young star seems to be headed to Old Trafford, with the star now dropping a massive hint that he’s to become a Red Devil.

Chido Obi-Martin hint to join United

If Obi-Martin is to join United, his arrival would be a massive move for United, stealing a potential wonderkid from a Premier League rival.

Now, the youngster has Posted his farewell message on Instagram, dropping a massive hint to his future.

Under his goodbye post to Arsenal on Instagram, Obi-Martin liked a number of messages offering support, whilst also getting a lot of abuse from Arsenal fans mad to see him go.

However, interestingly he liked a comment from user ‘christianlang1976’.

The comment read: “You’re a star, I’m looking forward to seeing you bomb goals for United. All the best champ!”, with Obi-Martin liking the post.

Another boost for the Red Devils is that it’s been reported that the move from Arsenal is not financially motivated. The youngster is entirely driven by his chances of play time and entry into the first squad, seeing he can develop further elsewhere.

This like from Obi-Martin could be a massive suggestion that United have won the race for the insanely talented youngster.

  • Kieran McKenna reportedly in line to be next England manager

Kieran Mckenna, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick

After eight years, Gareth Southgate will no longer be England manager.

Taking over in 2016 when Sam Allardyce resigned from the role, Southgate saw plenty of highs and lows in his time.

He led England to two Euros finals, including this year in UEFA Euro 2024.

And he took the nation to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Despite those impressive accomplishments, Southgate also received his fair share of criticism.

The former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough defender was seen as more of a defensive coach and that attracted many vocal opponents who wanted to see a more attacking side.

With a new manager set to land in the role, many are speculating who it may be and if they’ll take a more attacking approach.

The likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Eddie Howe have all been linked with the role.

All of these managers share a similar profile in that they’re known for their attacking play.

With Southgate stepping aside, it could be an ideal time for a new approach.

And one of the names being linked to the role is a former Manchester United coach who has also won plenty of plaudits for his style of play.

Mckenna in line to replace Southgate

Kieran McKenna joined Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2016.

Then United manager Jose Mourinho saw the potential in the young coach and gave him a more prominent role at the club.

McKenna was promoted to assistant manager in 2018 and kept that role when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came to the club.

When Solskjaer was sacked, McKenna decided to also leave at the end of that season.

Since then, McKenna has worked wonders at Ipswich Town.

Taking over the club when they were in League One, two successive promotions in his two years in charge mean the Tractor Boys will be playing English Premier League football this season for the first time in 22 years.

The unprecedented success and style of play that McKenna has instilled at Portman Road has had him linked to a number of roles.

He’s even been linked with a return to Old Trafford as the next manager after Erik ten Hag.

And now it seems that Kieran McKenna is being linked with another huge role in English football.

The Sun report that Kieran McKenna is a candidate to replace Gareth Southgate as the next England manager.

According to the tabloid newspaper, FA technical director John McDermott is a huge fan of McKenna’s having worked with him at Spurs.

McKenna was born in London, but represented Northern Ireland at a youth team level.

It’s not believed that the next England manager has to necessarily be of English heritage.

Kieran McKenna is believed to be happy at Ipswich for now. And it’s likely that his current side would be loathe to lose such a highly rated manager.

So the link seems tenuous at this stage.

However, stranger things have happened in football.

  • Anderlecht manager comments on Manchester United midfielder transfer links

    Brian Riemer

Manchester United are looking to offload a number of players this summer, making way for new recruits to rebuild the squad and get United back to their winning ways.

The Red Devils have already said goodbye to Mason Greenwood with the winger departing to Marseille in the recent weeks.

The club are currently working on two deals according to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, with the club pushing to complete the sales. Midfielders Scott McTominay and Casemiro are both in the firing line, with McTominay getting interest from Fulham and Spurs, and the Saudi Pro League looking to Casemiro.

Now, rumours have began stirring from Europe, claiming that another United midfielder is getting repeat interest from Belgian side, Anderlecht.

    Anderlecht’s comments on Christian Eriksen

DH Net, as reported by Manchester World has interviewed Anderlecht Brian Riemer, who claimed that he is in regular contact with United midfielder, Christian Eriksen.

The pair worked together at Brentford with Riemer positioned as Thomas Frank’s assistant manager. The pair have remained close, having regular contact sparking rumours of the Dane moving to Reimer’s new club.

Speaking about the contact with the Denmark international, Riemer said: “Look, we are always looking for good players. Connections can mean something. But transfer periods are strange things.”

He continued: “Last year, nobody could have expected Thorgan Hazard to be here until it happened on the last day. Just like with [Kasper] Schmeichel. Doors open and close quickly.

“I know Christian Eriksen well, yes, we worked together at Brentford three years ago, and I still exchange messages with Christian regularly. I know that he is now at a training camp in LA with Man United. So I can confirm that he is not in Brussels!

“In general, I can say that Jesper Fredberg and the scouting are working day and night to get reinforcements, but it is not the case that you can just grab players off the shelf. It sometimes takes time to massage certain targets. At the end of the window, there is sometimes an opportunity like last season with Thorgan Hazard.”

Eriksen has recently commented on his situation at United with many expecting the midfielder to be sold with him entering the final year of his contract. The Premier League veteran explained that he’s more than content at the club so isn’t rushing to any decisions on his future.

With Mason Mount now back to fitness and more signing to be made, Eriksen is likely to be getting even less game time, however he’s claimed that he’s still content at United if this is the case.

  • AC Milan launch first bid worth €17m for Manchester United target

Strengthening the midfield is a key objective for Manchester United in the upcoming season.

Despite no new midfield signings so far, the club plans to buy a midfielder after the sale of one of their experienced midfielders.

Scott McTominay, despite his desire to stay, is likely to be sold, with Fulham showing significant interest.

Christian Eriksen is also reportedly not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans, necessitating the acquisition of a new central midfielder.

Ten Hag has been particularly impressed by Kobbie Mainoo, who performed well in the Euro campaign for England and scored a crucial goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City and United are in search of a partner for Mainoo in this summer’s transfer market.

United has shortlisted several midfield targets, including Manuel Ugarte, Martin Zubimendi, Adrien Rabiot, and Youssouf Fofana, with Ugarte being their primary focus.

Milan launch first bid for United target – Youssouf Fofana

Italian journalist and transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that AC Milan has entered the race for United target Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, submitting an initial bid of €17 million.

Atletico Madrid is also monitoring Fofana, who has drawn interest from various European clubs due to his performances for both club and country.

Fofana, favored by French national team manager Didier Deschamps, played a pivotal role in France’s journey to the 2022 World Cup final and featured in three matches in the recent Euro Championship.

He joined Monaco in 2020 from Strasbourg and has since become one of Ligue 1’s standout midfielders.

Last season, Fofana scored four goals and provided four assists in 35 games across all competitions. Entering the final year of his contract, Monaco values him at €35 million, a figure Milan’s initial bid falls short of.

However, Monaco might reduce their asking price slightly but is unlikely to accept less than €20 million.

It is now expected that Milan are preparing to offer an improved bid for the Frenchman.

  • Toby Collyer set for first team debut in Community Shield

Erik ten Hag is keen to be giving his young stars opportunities to show their potential this summer.

His squad is full of young talent on the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the States, with the likes of Ethan Wheatley, James Scanlon and Harry Amass.

After the rise of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho from the academy in last two years, the Dutch manager is confident in some of his young prospects stepping up to the first team.

The two Golden Boy nominees were ultimately the key players to secure United’s FA Cup victory against Manchester City, being the two goal scorers in their 2-1 win.

Now, Ten Hag is looking likely to give another young star a start in their upcoming Community Shield match, taking on rivals Manchester City yet again.

Erik ten Hag’s young star – Toby Collyer

Forbes have announced that thanks to his efforts this pre-season, Toby Collyer is highly likely to feature in manager Erik ten Hag’s plans going forwards.

This means that Ten Hag will also give Toby Collyer his first proper first-team debut in the Community Shield against Manchester City in August.

The 20-year-old has made a massive impact this pre-season, being rewarded for his efforts by being given the captain’s armband against Rangers and Arsenal.

After the Ranger’s game, Ten Hag commented: “I always want to make pathways for young players, but they have to earn it,”

He directly referenced Collyer, saying: “Collyer has now earned an opportunity…and we will see how we can progress.”

He added: “Last year with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, we saw that can happen, the pathway is open and Toby is there too.”

Collyer’s strong showings are no surprise to the coaching staff, with United following the youngster since his time in the Brighton academy in 2022.

The midfielder was unable to agree terms with Brighton, which opened the door for United to sign the young star.

The Brighton Under-18s coach couldn’t praise Toby Collyer enough, saying: “He is a pleasure to coach. He is so low maintenance, what I mean by that is you don’t know he is there. He gets on with his job. He regularly put in displays of 8 out of 10 at the least.”

He added: “He had the best running stats, runs 13 kilometres a game, breaks things up. You want 11 of these type of players in the team. You know what you’re going to get in training, he works hard, he wants to improve, he’s intelligent.

“He’s a good all-round kid. As defensive midfielders go, and it is quite a disciplined role, he is probably the best in the country at doing it.”

Erik ten hag noticeably attended the signing of Collyer’s new United contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2027, showing the impression the star has made on his manager.

  • Rabiot rejects Liverpool contract for Manchester United

    Erik ten Hag in training

Manchester United are desperate to strengthen their midfield over the coming weeks.

In the last month, United have been linked to a whole range of European talent, however some appear to be longstanding interests.

The Red Devils have been in advance talks with PSG regarding Manuel Ugarte. Now, with the French club’s keen interest in Jadon Sancho, the two teams are set to meet this week to try and finalise the arrangements for both players.

Equally, Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand has been a keen favourite for a while. However, Lisbon have commented they will not be negotiating any transfer for the star so any signing of him would need to trigger his £67.3 million release clause.

    Manchester United’s free agent target

Another long term target is free agent, Adrien Rabiot. The French midfielder has recently departed from Juventus at the end of his contract.

Reports previously suggested that his disinterest in signing a new contract for Juve came from his desire to play for Manchester united, knowing that the club were interested in him.

Now, this is only heighted with United’s rivals, Liverpool offering the 29-year-old a contract.

According to TuttoJuve, the midfielder has rejected the contract offered by Liverpool, still holding out hope for a deal with United.

Although there’s no news at the moment as to if United are working on a deal with the star, Rabiot would be a very cheap option this summer, with the club able to sign him on a free.

  • Manchester United ‘open’ to selling Antony to help fund transfers

    Dan Ashworth

Manchester United are aiming for an active conclusion to the transfer window, with pursuits underway for players such as Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, and Matthijs de Ligt.

However, these signings hinge on the club making sales to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

The club’s management has reportedly identified a need for a new striker, right-back, center-back, and defensive midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Achieving these additions without player sales seems nearly impossible.

Consequently, Dan Ashworth and Co are actively working to offload players to fund these acquisitions.

A list of potential departures has been drawn up, including star names such as Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Scott McTominay.

Additionally, while the club is open to offers for Jadon Sancho and Casemiro, these two are more likely to remain at Old Trafford.

However, Sancho has reportedly agreed in principle to a deal with PSG, but negotiations are stalled over United’s €60 million valuation.

    United “open” to selling Antony

And now, a report from TEAMtalk claims United are “open” to selling winger Antony before the summer transfer window closes.

This report comes amid claims from Turkey that Besiktas has ‘made a move’ to sign Antony.

The Brazilian joined the club from Ajax nearly two years ago for over £85 million but has struggled to make a significant impact, scoring only 11 goals in 82 appearances.

Last season, he found the net just three times.

The report further states that United are now prepared to cut their losses on Antony, acknowledging that they overpaid for the winger.

Besiktas have shown interest but cannot meet his current wage demands, and a move to Turkey appears unlikely, as per TEAMtalk.

There has also been interest from the Saudi Pro League, but no immediate bids are expected.

United faces a hectic few weeks as they work to finalize their squad, aiming for a top-four Premier League finish and at least one domestic cup victory in the upcoming campaign.
